The cocktails are all top notch and the food is incredible, especially the smashburger and the Peruvian steak stir fry. Also really enjoy coming for the Tuesday night pop culture trivia. But this past weekend I also had the pleasure of hosting an event (for work) at Inkwell for the first time and I could not recommend them highly enough. The staff, especially Victoria, were all very attentive and easy to work with. Victoria even came up with a special cocktail for us. They were affordable and very flexible to our evolving needs. Definitely hope to host an event here again soon but will be visiting plenty in the meantime!

We only partook in drinks but they were great, as was the service and the vibe. A lot of people around us were getting food and it looked and smell delicious. I'm definitely headed back to try the menu. I dint recall the evening we were there but they were getting ready for karaoke and the next night was trivia night. So,... great place for a date (even if you don't want to go on a 2nd with them) you might want to come back with or without them. Parking can be a challenge. Street parking or you can park in the lots close by of Walgreens or Ralph's and walk over. There are signs stating towing but I don't think it would likely happen.

What makes these stand out is the aoli sauce that's paired so well with it. 5/5 Fish tacos were well stacked with flavor and lightly battered fries moist fish with a lime wedge 5/5 A Lavender Gin Cocktail. Might be my fave drink here! 5/5 Mirkwood looks murky but tastes good 4/5 Gin mojito was refreshing and well balanced 5/5 There's two bars. We went anyway, even though there was nothing extra special to celebrate but life, health and friendship. First off, finding parking was insane- and there was filming across the street taking up nearly all the parking for blocks- I tried. just Valet it rather than walk 6 blocks in heels. Entering this place for the first time, I was enchanted, - treated like a VIP from the parking staff, the door security, host team and servers. Our table was next to the fire place and under the open sky. I could see immediately why this place is loved for the romantic and charming ambiance. We'd planned to share a few plates but then found the prix fix menu and that made it easy. Half a fresh baguette and soft delicious butter with balsamic arrived and it was amazing. The appetizers arrived, heirloom tomatoes with burrata were the best I've had in L.A. and my friend ate most of it himself. Tuna tartar was good. Next the entrees- steak frites for me and the braised short rib for him. The steak was huge filet mignon, with a side of delicious French fries. One suggestion- eat the French fries as hot as possible. They were great and I almost missed them, focused on the steak and sharing the braised short rib with pomme puree and a mushroom sauce that was excellent. The portions were unexpectedly generous. I did not have a lot of room for dessert, but creme brûlée a sticky toffee cake were just incredible. I can't wait to come back with a less fussy dinner guest because he made what would have been an epic first visit less enjoyable than it could have been. Thanks to the several wait staff and manager who accommodated above and beyond. This place is my new favorite L.A. restaurant! I highly recommend you bring your special people to this special place.

Had a reservation, but the restaurant was very busy, so we were seated outside on a patio, which was fine. Started off with an amuse consisting of a sparkling rose and a whipped, creamy mixture of goat cheese, pecans, chives and aleppo pepper. The rose was rose, it was a small sipping glass, while the whipped treat was alright, interesting but presentation was very basic. For the real meal, we started with bigeye tuna tartare and the pork belly and watermelon. The pork belly was perfect, nice and crispy on the outside, juicy inside, while the watermelon gave a pop of sweetness to cut the savory of the pork belly. The tartare was equally as good with pickled ginger, avocado and ponzu sauce with crispy wontons. For entrees we went with the langostino fettuccine and the braised short rib. The short rib fell apart perfectly and had good flavor to it. It didn't necessarily come off as memorable but it was good. The langostino fettuccine was great, good amount of langostino in a vodka sauce giving a little spicy note to the dish. Very good. To end the meal we had the apple cobbler and the molten cake. The cobbler came with vanilla ice cream and candied walnuts. Nice overall bite. The molten cake was the opposite of molten, missing that runny gooeyness in the middle. Overall, great ambiance, good food and pleasant staff. I'd say skip the molten cake and up to you on the short rib.

This place came up several times when I researched on great restaurants that have excellent vibes…read moreand great food. Although it didn't really necessarily show up as "the best food in LA area" but all the reviews were so good so I became curious to try. Mainly the reviews also raved about the vibes, services, and live music. Well, they were not wrong! It was fairly easy to make a reservation through Opentable, and I made a reservation for two people for my birthday dinner on Sunday night. I put on the notes that it's my bday so it'll be nice to get a nice table near the stage. I didn't have a high expectation, cos I'd never been to the place and I didn't make a call or anything. But wow, they definitely gave us a great table at the very front! As many reviewers had mentioned, the acoustic of the restaurant is really great. You can barely hear other people's conversations. There's a live jazz band playing, so you can really enjoy that. Although it made it slightly hard to hear what other nearby people say to you either, haha. Our server Dawson was a really great one! Very nice, very informative and just has a great vibe that made you feel comfortable to converse with him. We also asked if he could take a picture of us and he went above and beyond with taking our pictures haha. He took the table lamp as our additional "lighting". Such a great service! Dawson also made a few suggestions on food. We ordered the milk bun (so great!), the tiger prawns tostada (omg, my favorite of the night!), braised lamb pasta, pork belly risotto, and roasted broccolini. Everything was really good and really filled us up! We also got the "smokin old fashioned" and "Wake up and repeat" cocktails. It was plenty of food for us so we asked for a check. Dawson asked if we wanted a dessert but we were already full. He asked if it's ok to give us a lil treat for my bday. It was a really nice dessert :). Oh I forgot to mention that they also put a small bday card on the table for me. The prices of food and drinks are on the higher sides, but I feel like it's worth it due to the live music and the vibe. It easily covers the entertainment part. We definitely will go back and recommend this place for anyone who's looking into a nice date night or to celebrate something special. I was informed that Friday has more of a "party vibe" here, although it's still a jazz performance. Sunday feels more laid back :) Overall I'm really pleased by this place. I used to think that I don't care that much about excellent service as long as the food is great, but I was wrong. The excellent hospitality just made the night even better than expected. Thank you for making my bday dinner memorable.

The usually have a live band after 7pm and the sound in the resturant is amazing. It's like a recording studio. The staff was very friendly! The decor and ambiance was also impressive. Definitely swanky but down to earth vibes. I got the rasberry beret cocktail and it was different but fabulous. Not sure how else to describe it. It was refreshing. We got the tiger prawns and it was presented as a toasta, which had a great flavor and texture. The apple salad was also refreshing and a good portion to share between 2 people. The broccolini was cooked perfectly and my favorite after the tiger prawns was the Dungeness crab pasta. It had uni on top! The uni elevated the dish, and honestly there were a good amount of crab meat in the dish. Overall well balanced and creamy. The 2 of us left full and satisfied. Highly recommend this place for a date night. There's also plenty of street parking when we went but there is also valet for $15.
