I stopped by here after dinner. As it was still happy hours for another 20 minutes, it was great. My first time here which it's located in the art district just along Magnolia Blvd. It's metered street parking but you could get lucky and find residential parking nearby. As it was rainy, which is rare to say about LA. But it's been a miracle with all that we had. Anyway, they do have a patio area outside in front but it wasn't utilized with the rain. Inside it's a cool vibe. A nice bar that also offered food. We made it before happy hour ended so it was great for a drink. Not only drinks specials, there was also small bites food specials. There's also a regular menu with food as well as the regular cocktails. It's a full bar so whatever you like I'm sure it could be prepared. Felicia took care of us when we arrived. Very sweet and so friendly. Nice to walk into a place where your chatting with someone versus just sitting down and that's that. Some people prefer that but I like to mingle. It's a bar but could also double as a sports bar. Loads of seating along the big stretch of bar as well booths seats along the wall and more seating towards the back. There's also a stage that host different events nightly. We noticed an open mic night, trivial night and so on. There was a screen along the bar area that was displaying all the different events happening. It's a cool spot that we walked into. Even though I've walked past by it loads of time. A cool place with a nice happy hour menu. Drinks were great. Oh, we had both the margaritas with a salt rim and tajin rim. Both was great and happy hour price of 10.00. Will definitely be back for more cocktails especially with great service and friendly staff. And there's loads of television for whatever sports you're into. They had a security guard when we left but not when we arrived.

The CanTiki is a great NoHo spot for fun drinks and vibes! I recently came to the CanTiki for their Sippin' Santa Holiday themed set-up, and had a total blast! The themed drinks were really creative, fun, and I loved the different mugs that come for each cocktail. We tried a few rounds of drinks - my favorites were the Hot Buttered Grog for a warm drink, and the Holiday on Ice for a cold drink! The Hot Buttered Grog was soothing and felt great to sip, while also having a good kick and strength from the liquor! The Holiday on Ice, on the other hand, gave satisfying chills and was similarly strong! I also really appreciated the care that the bartender took into preparing each individual drink, taking a few minutes...but it was well worth the wait! I also loved the variety of seating available - from bar seating, high tops, booths, and tables. This is a great local spot in NoHo and I highly recommend for a casual Tiki bar to hang at for some cocktails and chats!

Went here during the holidays for the Sippin' Santa event where they offered different festive tiki glassware to go with the holiday cocktails. The vibe was local, friendly and fun. Bartenders were attentive and took good care of us. They made sure to thank us for stopping in, which was a nice touch. I'm also a big fan of tiki bars and it hits that mark, too.

Wanted to try a new Tiki bar and came across The Can Tiki. It has a laid back atmosphere, plenty of tv's to watch sports. During football season they are a Cincinnati Bengals bar and serve Cincinnati Chili items. Drinks a delicious. I had the Ghosted Girl, has the right mix of sweet and spice. My husband had the Huana Pina Colada, which was delicious. Definitely will come ba

Drinks have been really solid the last few times I've visited. Service is always great. And Beachbum Berry's Sippin Santa holiday overlay is GREAT! Very cozy holiday vibes. Highly recommend.

I love Tiki bars. This is such a wonderful addition to the roster of options in LA. But what separates this from the others is the owner and operator, Amanda, is such a lovely person and seasoned mixologist expert. The vibe isn't overly Tiki in decor which I think is a really smart choice. The drinks are exceptional. It appeals to both tiki folks and the general clientele. Plenty of TV's for the games, karaoke on certain nights. Feels much more a friendly, neighborhood bar with a theme than it does an overt TIKI bar (again, in a great way). Come and enjoy.

We went to this bar on a Friday night. It was crowded, but we were seated right away. Honestly, chicken wings are so good. They were spicy, but not too much. They had perfect seasoning. I really recommend ordering wings. Drinks were tasty too. This place is pet friendly too. I saw couple of people bringing their dogs inside and dining. Overall, this is a cool bar to spend time on a Friday night.

Cannot say enough good things about this place!! Everything about the food, service and ambience is great!! Any day of the week

Yes I Cantiki! Happy hour daily 3pm-6pm and they have the best bang for your buck on cocktails! $8 cocktails...3 of them can be upgraded to buckets for only $4 more. You get a bucket of LA River Water for $12 is a steal in North Hollywood! our server/bartender was the best. Very attentive and always checking in on us. We came in for a few apps & cocktails and we're so happy we did! Great space with tables and buffet seats in the back with a TV. Plenty of bar seating and a few 2 top tables up front. Looks like they may have a DJ play sometimes. The vibe and decor is everything! Outdoor patio seats to people watch, but a little too hot to enjoy just yet. The happy hour pricing and what you get for the prices are amazing! I am so excited to have found CanTiki! You have made regulars out of us

This place has amazing drinks! I've tried several of their drinks and can honestly say I've liked each one! They also have a food menu so we got shumai dumplings which come with soy sauce on the side and were good. I also ordered their wings which were good too. For a bar, the food was good. I recommend the tater tots here since they were very crispy & yummy! The staff is really nice & all the bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable in their drinks. Besides the bar area where you can sit at, they also have indoor tables & the place is pretty spacious inside.

Ask the Community - The CanTiki

Is CanTiki still a Bengals bar?

Yes!

Is there parking?

There's meters in front and in the surrounding area!

Do you have DJs play on Fridays?

DJs really only play for special events. If you follow @thecantikila on instagram you can see when there are events with a DJ.

Does the Can Tiki serve food? And, if you do, what kinds of food is served? small plates, Hamburgers, sandwiches, popcorn, peanuts, etc....…

They have some small plates - dumplings and things like fries.

How long would the wait be on a Saturday night? Are there reservations?

There usually isn't a wait at the door. The bar does fill up on Saturday nights, but there are plenty of tables, booths, and a large bar to sit at!

Do you have a Happy Hour?

YES! Happy hour is every day from 3-6:30

Do they have piña coladas?

Hi Grace! We have a fantastic pina colada!!!

They…read morehave a tiki marketplace several times a year, and this one was held on a Sunday afternoon from noon to 6pm. It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.

It was FANTASTIC. Our server, Isaiah, was absolutely amazing and on top of things, refilling our water before we even hit half glass. Not to mention his energy and vibe was so welcoming and fun. We got the PuPu platter for two, came out within minutes, I could spend the rest of my life eating that alone. Isaiah recommended his favorite sauces, Garlic Chive and Chipotle Citrus, they were amazing. We got the shrimp and lobster roll, I officially entered heaven. The Isles of Club sandwich was the finishing touch that had me laughing from joy. Near the end of our dining we meant Max, another server, who is absolutely fantastic, brought us everything we needed, boxes, sauce containers, bags, to-go dessert. His energy was also amazing and super fun. Broken Compass Tiki is a pirate themed tiki bar in Burbank…read more They don't having a parking lot, but it was very easy to find street parking just around the corner on a Sunday afternoon. The front of the building is a little vaguely marked, and the entrance has speakeasy vibes, which was a surprise. Upon walking in the front door, there is some tiki décor and a small counter in the rear. I remember thinking to myself "what the heck, this is it?". I checked in at the host stand on the left, and was handed me a boarding pass. She then led us through a hidden door behind what looked like a shipping crate. We were now in the real Broken Compass. The interior is a good size. The two-sided bar seats around a dozen. There is a lounge side of the bar that has two large booths along the wall, and another area with comfortable looking couches and lounge chairs. The main dining room has some tiki hut booths, and two sections of tables with half booth and half chair. The décor is pretty extensive with a good mix of pirate, nautical, and tiki themes. There is a lot of bamboo, thatch, rope, cargo netting, skulls and skeletons, port holes, octopus tentacles, jellyfish, tiki lights, and more. The ceiling is dark with various nautical and pirate markings, and even tied up ship sails overhead. The tiki hut booths have the parrots from the enchanted tiki room above them. Even the two restrooms are nautical themed, with beach and marine sounds playing. There is a lot of great décor to look at. We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy yet. By the time we left a few hours later, it was starting to get busy. We decided to sit at the bar. We started out with the buffalo cauliflower ($14) for an afternoon snack. The serving size was generous, and the buffalo sauce had a good tang. It was served with some sauces, and was surprisingly filling. A nice feature of the cocktail menu is that each drink displays one to three compass stars to indicate the strength of the drink. Their cocktails use a great variety of liquors including ones you don't often see. Many of the ingredients are made in-house. I started out with Chupacabra's Vacation (Demerara Rum, Jamacian Rum, Pomegranate Reduction, Cinnamon, Lime Juice, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $17). It is served with a flaming lime on top and a little fire show. It was balanced with a light booziness, some light pomegranate flavor, and a cinnamon sprinkle on top. She started out with the Bittersweet Paradise (Jamacian Rum, White Rum, Campari, Passionfruit Syrup, Lemon, Lime, Pineapple, two-star boozy rank, $18). It didn't drink boozy at all, and was passion fruit forward, with light bitterness. My second cocktail was the Bermuda Dune Buggy (Gin, Overproof Rum, Kumquat Liqueur, Cassis, Orange, Lime, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $18). It had a very unique garnish of a Chartreuse infused gummy which was delicious. The drink was nicely balanced, and didn't really drink boozy even with overproof rum in it. They have a rotating monthly cocktail and she tried the Tropic Like It's Hot (Coconut Washed Lemongrass Infused Rum, Mango, Lemon, Coconut Water, Amaro, $17) which was created by one of our bartenders Daniel. It was served in a Spam can and was light and refreshing with a nice pop of fruit at the start, and a very nice coconut flavor. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and had great conversation with our bartenders Daniel and Monica. They also provided excellent service. Broken Compass supports payment with the InKind app which gives you 20% back (10% on Friday and Saturday) in InKind cash. We had a really great time here, and the drinks, food, décor, and atmosphere were excellent. I purchased a Hork (Horse-shaRK) mug for $50 to bring home as a souvenir. We would definitely return again when in the area.

The atmosphere and ambience is decent. There are neat decorations and trinkets everywhere. The music was a playlist of random music which isn't really my thing. There were two bartenders working who were friendly and prompt. The price point is fine around $15 per drink. I was very underwhelmed by their rum and cocktail program, though. I suppose given the history and hype of the bar I was expecting much more. They don't use fresh juices, everything is from bottles and cans (think Tropicana), their garnishes are all the same and taste a little off (maybe they're assembled way ahead of time and taste old?), and their rum selection is alright depending on the cocktail you order, but can also be lackluster, too. Overall, it was cool to finally check out Tiki Ti, but it was a one-and-done for me.

And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

The ambience was usual, old Italian restaurant vibe. Most of all, I was very disappointed with my food. This makes it two strikes.
