This place does way too much right! Vintage decor's gorgeously cozy and romantic. Astounding rare Mexican liquors and elevated food. I like tasting components of each dish and each sung with big clean flavors that didn't get muddled. You can really feel the craft going into everything. Downside is price, but fair for the area and quality - not as bad as Alto. $20 margs are worth it for being so unique and refined like fine dining. You get what you pay for. Bartenders had so much fascinating knowledge it was a blast to learn and try hard to find drinks while munching exquisite food in an amazing atmosohere. read more

We visited Daisy over a year ago and really enjoyed the food and drinks. We returned a week later, with the intention of becoming regulars but we were turned away by the greeting staff because we didn't have a reservation. We thought they were a bit rude and would have been fine with sitting at the bar but that didn't seem to be ok with them so a year when by and we gave it another try. Fast forward to August 2026. We arrived at 5pm on a Friday, which is when the open. There wasn't a big crowd and we did have a reservation but we chose to sit at the bar. The margaritas were excellent and the tacos were also delish. It's a shame this restaurant lost a year of our business but it seems to be a little less pretentious now so we plan to return again soon. read more

Great experience last night. Arrived at 6 pm on a Friday night without a reservation and they are hopping. Hostess kindly offered us a table if we would be willing to be finished by 8 pm. NO PROBLEM. We had the traditional and skinny margarita. Flavors were good, though servings are petit as glass is small and the huge ice cube takes up lots of real estate. Room for improvement at $16/each. We had a tuna tostada, ceviche and carne asada. All dishes felt original, artisanal and curated. This is not your average mexican food. Overall flavorful, fresh and delicious. Service is a little interesting - everyone works everywhere so it's unclear who your server is, but not sure it matters. They are attentive and efficient. Decor is warm and inviting though not sure of the theme. Liked it anyway. Packed the whole time we were there. Would recommend and new time, probably with a reservation. read more

My husband and I decided to give this place a try after realizing it had been open for about a year. It's located in the old Sherman restaurant, and the concept is definitely unique. The menu focuses exclusively on traditional Mexico cuisine, and even the bar stays true to that philosophy, every spirit is imported from Mexico, or house made, with no American brands. I really appreciated the authenticity. We started with the mushroom fundido, which was delicious. The only downside was that it didn't come with salsa, and adding salsa molcajete or salsa de la casa costs an extra $7-12. At the $25 price for the fundido, it feels like a little salsa should be included. They also only give you 4 tortillas, so if we had our son with us or a group, the size would not have been enough. The Caesar salad was surprisingly one of my favorite dishes. It had great flavor and, considering everything else we ordered, was probably the best value on the menu. The tostada de cangrejo was packed with flavor, but at $20 it was tiny, barely enough for a child-sized portion. For entrées, my husband ordered the carne asada ($45). It was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately it lacked seasoning and really needed salt or some type of sauce to bring it to life. The potatoes were also quite dry. To the restaurant's credit, the manager removed the steak from our bill without hesitation, which was greatly appreciated. The cocktails were well made and tasty, but they were also incredibly expensive. The real star of the evening was dessert. The flan was hands down the best I've ever had, silky, incredibly creamy, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. I'd honestly go back just for that. Overall, I love the restaurant's commitment to showcasing authentic Mexican ingredients and traditions, however, with the high prices and a few disappointing dishes, I'm not sure it's enough to bring me back for a second visit. This is our new favorite spot on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks! The food, service and vibe here is epic! We went in blind not knowing what to expect and we're glad we did! We used Resy to book a reservation for our anniversary and the day we went, our daughter was on a field trip and was running late to return as the bus was running behind. A quick call to the staff there and they let us bump our reservations to 30 minutes later. We were so grateful as we really wanted to try this place! Once we arrived, we ended up only being 15 minutes late which the staff laughed as that was the grace period for original reservation at 5:00 pm which they said, "you guys did make it." Our waitress was extremely attentive and great! She kept checking in on us to make sure everything was tasting great and if we needed anything. I have had this place on my list of places to visit for many years but never made it until recently. I usually stick to gin martinis so this restaurant which focuses on tequila / mezcal was not always at the top of my list but I am so grateful to finally have tried it as I will be coming back! I sat at the bar and was served by a super friendly and knowledgeable bartender who knew the menu and cocktails thoroughly. I ordered a delicious drink of which I already forgot the name of but it was delicious. I ordered the chips and guac which was also good (I tend to like my guac with a little kick and that was missing here). My friend and I had been wanting to try Daisy for awhile and on a recent Friday I had "fresh from the salon" hair I didn't wanna waste, so we went. First of all - it is pricey. The interior/ambience is lovely - really appreciate what they did to the place. First had the guacamole maragrita - i love avocado and appreciate a less sweet spin on cocktails. It was really good, I like the play of pureed avocado and citrus notes. Next I had the creamsicle maragrita - I love the combination of orange and vanilla so it sounded intriguing. It was...a bit odd. There was.a smoky mezcal flavor that overwhelmed the drink making it hard to detect that orange/Vanilla flavor. And there was supposed to be mezcal in it. However, I did appreciate the server coming by to pour the Cocktail into a more chilled glass, mine got warmed up while drinking. Docking a star because the food seems like kind of an afterthought for the price. These days I usually need food with my cocktails. Wasn't very hungry so I went with one of the cheaper snackier options - chips and salsa. It was serviceable. My friend got the guacamole with tuna, and said the guacamole was too basic. I had no idea the English translation of "margarita" is and that is why this wonderful Mexican eatery is called Daisy. Chef Alan Sanz has put together a great menu and and Beverage Director Max Reis has bought every tequila known to man I think and can they make a margarita. Wow. The place is ever so pretty and you can sit at the bar or dine at a super comfortable table. The place is clean and so nicely decorated, we just love it. The service is perfect. You get happy servers who can't wait to help you and can list most of the tequilas they serve. A lot of people go there to drink and get a starter, but they are nice and the place is never too loud--it it not quiet, but it is nice. The food is great and they have a diverse menu of great food. Sometimes we go there with friends and just order every starter they have. They are all great. The half dozen oysters are always great and you must tried their grilled oysters. Their Tostada de Atun has smashed avocado, yellowfin, chintextle aioli, and wonderful hoja santa. Also try the Aguachile de Callo which is made from great scallops, aguachile verde, seasonal fruit, and some citrus. There is nothing there not to love. read more

I also got a Tommy's margarita $16, which is a skinny margarita. I got the smashed avocado (guacamole) with tuna carnitas, which is $26 so very expensive. I had to get use to sipping my margarita like a civilized person, rather than gulping it down. We started with the queso fundido. Too bad it cools so quickly and is so thick. It had a trio of salsas on top. And the chips are excellent. They brought us plenty of refills on chips. We ordered the salsa sampler. Three different salsas in tiny ramekins. All tasty, but usually Mexican restaurants give you salsa and chips for free. We had to spend $18. I had a chile rellano unlike any I have had before. A lot of black beans, a blistered chile and some cojita cheese sprinkled on top. I am used to a chile rellano filled with cheese. It was just okay. My husband had the carne aside. Basically a steak and roasted potatoes. Nice steak, but nothing Mexican about it. The potatoes were ordinary. Our guest ordered AGUACHILE DE CHAYOTE squash, pineapple aguachile, cilantro macho. She wanted a vegetarian option. This was a cold soup. She had no idea what she was getting. I guess we should have asked. All in all the menu is confusing. I have eaten Mexican food throughout LA and travelled extensively in Mexico, and this was all very new to me. They did tell us at the beginning that things were good to share. This would have been a good sharing dish with the chips. It was very unusual. The dessert flan was very tasty with pecans and a crispy churro like garish. We would have like a little more explanation on the menu of what we were ordering. Every item is unexpected and out of the ordinary. Thankfully it was fairly early in the evening so they fit in my party of 2, but let us know that a reserved party would be arriving in about an hour and a half. It was our first time here. We tried: smashed avocado 5/5 (can you really go wrong with fresh guac?) salsa Molcajete, salsa de La casa 5/5 Caesar salad 3/5 queso fundido 4/5 great with hot. I was so intrigued when I heard about the Guacamole Margarita so I had to make the trek up to Daisy to check it out! In the end I ordered the Salsa Verde Margarita and absolutely loved it. It had a smoky element to it that was reminiscent of mezcal, but faded into more savory and bright flavors. My husband got the Guacamole Margarita, and I enjoyed trying it, but definitely preferred mine. ALSO, it is very important to note that the Guacamole Margarita has clam juice in it. My vegetarian friend was going to try it and they don't advertise that it's not vegetarian. It's listed as "clearmato" on the menu since it is a clarified version of Clamato, but that is very unclear when allergies or other dietary restrictions are at play. I found that fairly concerning that it's snuck in there.... you usually don't think to ask if a cocktail has shellfish in it?! I loved the salsa trio and found each one to be unique, flavorful, and spicy. I was worried when they only brought us a few tostadas, but I was pleasantly surprised that they did not charge us when I asked for a refill. The aguachile de chayote was so delicious and a fun starter to go with the salsas. The pollo asada was a great sharable portion, and I was impressed with how filling it was! The chicken was incredible with the salsas and tortillas. I love a tallow fry, so I expected to love these, and they were unfortunately a little flat flavor-wise compared to the rest of the food. Some of my very dear friends are bartenders, and I took one of them here for her birthday. We picked this place because we have mad respect for Max - beverage director. Max is not your standard bartender - he is a mixologist extraordinaire. His skills go beyond the basic vodka soda. Case in point - the Salsa Verde Margarita. Not to be overlooked are the reimagined Mexican dishes that focus on traditional techniques with a modern twist created by Executive Chef Alan Sanz. (For the record, my friend & I also love Daisy's sister restaurant Mirate.) The décor here is quite charming and reminiscent of a cantina in Mexico. There's even a cool jukebox. Our server Yvette was fantastic as were the other staff members that frequently checked on us. We started with Margaritas - Clasica Margarita & Tommy's Margarita. You don't have to worry about salt on the rim of your margarita glass because the margaritas already contain salt. I know it sounds weird but it's a small amount and it works. In a blind taste test, you can tell a Daisy margarita vs any other. We also tried the Sour Apple Margarita. Max nailed the perfect sour green apple taste without using apple pucker. We both agreed that it reminded us of Lola's Apple Martini but better. (FYI: Lola's invented the Apple Martini.) My friend got the Taco De Tianguis, which is inspired by the street food of Chef Sanz' hometown of Oaxaca. It was a generous serving and she enjoyed it. The Mexican Biscuit made with Tres chiles & cotija cheese was bomb! It was served warm with Hoja Santa Honey butter. I loved it, and I love the vibe here. I am a big fan of Daisy's sister restaurant in Los Feliz, Mírate, so I was excited to hear that this restaurant group had a new restaurant. We came on a Saturday night in January after making an online reservation that was easy to get. Street parking in the neighborhood was pretty easy to get. When we arrived, the restaurant was thrumming with energy and already super busy. Someone greeted us immediately and took us to our seat, which was a small booth in the back of the restaurant. The decor here felt like a trendy log cabin. In terms of ambiance, it feels really different to Mirate, but I thought it was really fun. Our server was very attentive and welcoming. He gave us a few recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed before we needed it. We ordered five dishes to share between us, including dessert, one taco, one noodle dish, one ceviche, and chips and guac. I would have to say that though nothing was terrible, nothing really stood out either. In terms of food taste and quality at the time of my visit, Mirate seems far superior. Either way, I think this is worth trying if you're a fan of Mirate. read more

Came to Daisy to celebrate a friends birthday and it was a great experience. Parking may be tough but you can always find something within walking distance. My server was great, the restaurant is very visually appealing, and the food was great. I ordered the queso fundido which was exceptional! My recommendation is to ask for the chips rather than the tortillas. My main entree was the Pescabirria tacos and I have to say, WOW! These tacos were perfect because it had zero fishy taste or scent and the consomé was perfectly balanced. If I could eat more I would order that twice. For dessert we had some strawberry ice cream for my friends bday which they brought out and we requested the blue corn muffin as well. The muffin was good, it almost tasted like a tamale but the icings on top made it more enjoyable. To drink, I ordered the Gimlet which was good but a bit too sweet for my liking. I found this place after visiting some dive bars in the area, it was absolutely beautiful inside! I had to stop for a drink before the closed. They had a whole menu of late night bites as it is mostly a restaurant. I didn't get any food this time but I got a prickly pear cosmo and it was delicious! It was sweet instead is being tart which I really liked. The service was really great too, our server gave us a breakdown of all the tequilas and mezcals they offer. This place gets really busy and I understand why. The food is amazing. At first glance I had no idea what together but our waiter did not let us down. We ended up getting the pollo asado, the carne apache, and taco de pulpo. The sauce for the pollo asado was addictive and the way they seasoned those fries... You'd wish they were endless. I highly recommend the carne apache too. Full of flavor and just yummy overall. The taco pretty big but it's only one taco and that's it so worth getting a few. I definitely want to go back to try out some of their other dishes. It was pretty loud but the place isn't so big and it was pacckkkeddd on a Friday night at 9 pm. It took about 20 min to get us our table even thought we had reservations. So don't count on them to come find you when a table is ready. Keep checking with them. Went here for a friend's birthday and found the restaurant on Resy, where it had great reviews and was known for its specialty margaritas. The server was very kind and helpful and the ambiance was perfect date night casual. We started with the ceviche and also trio which were well balanced and bright. The black salsa was the spiciest and also our favorite! The cocktails were delicious, both refreshing and strong. For my meal I ordered the carne asada plate that I had cooked medium rare and it was well executed. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. A great local Mexican establishment in Sherman Oaks. Met friends here on a Sun for brunch. We ordered family style and shared the Chilaquiles rojos with duck, flat iron steak empalmes, the pescabirrias and burrito de machaca. We enjoyed all the dishes. We did find one a bit salty for our taste but otherwise very fulfilling and flavorful. Great cocktails also. read more

I've heard loads of good things about this place. It was the former Sherman and now Daisy. A whole completely different vibe. We stopped in during the street fair which was very busy. The entrance had a door man/security letting people in. Once inside, the place was packed. We just wanted a drink and a lite snack to carry us till dinner time. I'm not sure if it's always packed or just because of the street fair. But the vibe was nice. Couples, families and groups. We checked in and asked for the bar as we were only wanting drinks. They didn't have any seats available but could seat us right away at one of the hi top tables across from the bar. It's somewhat of a hipster Mexican restaurant. Menu was limited during our visit. Not sure if there's a different one for dinner. I'm assuming they're known for their Michelada as it was noted on the menu. So obviously had to try it. I don't like Michelada but gave it a shot. First impression, did like the jerky that accompanied the drink. Never seen it served that way. First sip, it's an acquired taste that I'm not a fan of. People seemed to love it as loads were being ordered but I couldn't get on board. Food, we just got an order of the aguachille de callo. Scallops, aguachile verde, market fruit and citrus. The flavors were great with the citrus, cucumber, red onions and plums. It was an excellent mix of everything and combine with the citrus. It was a win. That was served with tortilla chips. Just from this dish, we quite liked it a lot. The portions aren't that big for a meal hence it's a starters. Service was great. All the staffs were very friendly and sweet. Drinks all looked amazing after the bartender making them. It's a nice lively place. You could say it's a bit pricer for the food. There's also A seafood counter over the bar where all the oysters were placed on iced. If you're only popping in for a drink, it's quite nice. What we had to share was great. But definitely need to stop by again for a full meal. read more
