I had no idea the English translation of "margarita" is and that is why this wonderful Mexican eatery is called Daisy. Chef Alan Sanz has put together a great menu and and Beverage Director Max Reis has bought every tequila known to man I think and can they make a margarita. Wow. The place is ever so pretty and you can sit at the bar or dine at a super comfortable table. The place is clean and so nicely decorated, we just love it. The service is perfect. You get happy servers who can't wait to help you and can list most of the tequilas they serve. A lot of people go there to drink and get a starter, but they are nice and the place is never too loud--it it not quiet, but it is nice. The food is great and they have a diverse menu of great food. Sometimes we go there with friends and just order every starter they have. They are all great. The half dozen oysters are always great and you must tried their grilled oysters. Their Tostada de Atun has smashed avocado, yellowfin, chintextle aioli, and wonderful hoja santa. Also try the Aguachile de Callo which is made from great scallops, aguachile verde, seasonal fruit, and some citrus. There is nothing there not to love.

Extremely delicious carne asada plate. Every bite bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. We also tried cocktail drinks and each one was well balanced and flavorful. Definitely a repeat spot to try more items on the menu. Ambience was very nice and fitting to the best Ventura blvd has to offer I will definitely be back!

Daisy is a new bar that has received the 'James Beard' award and 'Tales of a Cocktail Spirited Award' for best new bar in 2026--and rightfully so! The bar is dimly lit and trendy. The drinks are tasty & strong! Jared was my bartender and is literally a magician. I definitely recommend this place for the service, aesthetic and vibe!

The decided on a random Friday night to try as it has been on the list of to-do's. The set up and ambiance are great very cute inside. Their signature cocktails were great. The anger was amazing as well service was definitely a 10/10. However if I'd have to choose between here and a higher end restaurant for the price point their menu is at I would definitely skip out on coming here again. They have a small menu so the options are minimal. The drinks are LA prices and the entree prices are on the higher end as well. Overall I'd probably come back here for starters and a drink or two but that would be all.

We were curious about this place, and indeed very interesting. We did enjoyed our meal and drinks here. We loved the cuteness and set up of this place also. And our hostess was very nice, she had explained the concept of this place especially the food they serve.

Super cute, great ambiance & vibes in there. They have duolingo or some kind of translating program while you go to the bathroom which I thought was super cute . Sat at the bar and bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered : -Salsa verde margarita 10/10 -oaxacan old fashioned 10/10 -Aguachile de chayote 10/10 Such a delicious mix of flavors that work so well together . I can't wait to have it again! -Carne asada plate 9/10 Can't wait to go back and try new things! :)

Came to this restaurant on a random Wednesday with no reservation. Thankfully it was fairly early in the evening so they fit in my party of 2, but let us know that a reserved party would be arriving in about an hour and a half. It was our first time here. We tried: smashed avocado 5/5 (can you really go wrong with fresh guac?) salsa Molcajete, salsa de La casa 5/5 Caesar salad 3/5 queso fundido 4/5 great with hot. (Eat immediately don't wait) For drinks we tried the sour apple marg 4/5and the dirty Shirley marg 1/5 (return for another apple marg). Overall a good experience. Very friendly, efficient and accommodating staff. A bit overpriced. I love that you get a free Spanish vocab lesson while using restroom (the restroom was clean and well stocked). They let us know the upstairs will be opening soon so I'll be back to check that out.

I was so intrigued when I heard about the Guacamole Margarita so I had to make the trek up to Daisy to check it out! In the end I ordered the Salsa Verde Margarita and absolutely loved it. It had a smoky element to it that was reminiscent of mezcal, but faded into more savory and bright flavors. My husband got the Guacamole Margarita, and I enjoyed trying it, but definitely preferred mine. ALSO, it is very important to note that the Guacamole Margarita has clam juice in it. My vegetarian friend was going to try it and they don't advertise that it's not vegetarian. It's listed as "clearmato" on the menu since it is a clarified version of Clamato, but that is very unclear when allergies or other dietary restrictions are at play. I found that fairly concerning that it's snuck in there.... you usually don't think to ask if a cocktail has shellfish in it?! I loved the salsa trio and found each one to be unique, flavorful, and spicy. I was worried when they only brought us a few tostadas, but I was pleasantly surprised that they did not charge us when I asked for a refill. The aguachile de chayote was so delicious and a fun starter to go with the salsas. The pollo asada was a great sharable portion, and I was impressed with how filling it was! The chicken was incredible with the salsas and tortillas. I love a tallow fry, so I expected to love these, and they were unfortunately a little flat flavor-wise compared to the rest of the food. The overall vibe in the restaurant was so fun, and we all loved getting to learn a Spanish phrase or two in the bathroom lol

Pollo asado with cauliflower puree. Ate it too fast to get a good picture! Delicious!!!

Absolutely delicious food. Went for dinner and got the carne Apache, Caesar salad, queso fundido, and pollo asado. The carne Apache and pollo asado were incredible. The cauliflower puree was truly one of the best things I've had in a long time! The Caesar salad was a perfect started and so flavorful! The queso fundido was queso fundido. All the flour and corn tortillas tasted so fresh and delicious. The service was a little slow, but it makes you slow down and enjoy your time more. The ambiance is my favorite! It's like an old western bar mixed with the flair of the roaring 20's! I love it. Had the creamsicle margarita that was good and the salsa verde margarita! Would go back for the chicken and carne apache!

Some of my very dear friends are bartenders, and I took one of them here for her birthday. We picked this place because we have mad respect for Max - beverage director. Max is not your standard bartender - he is a mixologist extraordinaire. His skills go beyond the basic vodka soda. Case in point - the Salsa Verde Margarita. Not to be overlooked are the reimagined Mexican dishes that focus on traditional techniques with a modern twist created by Executive Chef Alan Sanz. (For the record, my friend & I also love Daisy's sister restaurant Mirate.) The décor here is quite charming and reminiscent of a cantina in Mexico. There's even a cool jukebox. Our server Yvette was fantastic as were the other staff members that frequently checked on us. We started with Margaritas - Clasica Margarita & Tommy's Margarita. You don't have to worry about salt on the rim of your margarita glass because the margaritas already contain salt. I know it sounds weird but it's a small amount and it works. In a blind taste test, you can tell a Daisy margarita vs any other. We also tried the Sour Apple Margarita. Max nailed the perfect sour green apple taste without using apple pucker. We both agreed that it reminded us of Lola's Apple Martini but better. (FYI: Lola's invented the Apple Martini.) My friend got the Taco De Tianguis, which is inspired by the street food of Chef Sanz' hometown of Oaxaca. It was a generous serving and she enjoyed it. The Mexican Biscuit made with Tres chiles & cotija cheese was bomb! It was served warm with Hoja Santa Honey butter. I loved it, and I love the vibe here. I can't wait to come back. *Fun fact: Daisy means margarita in Spanish. *There's a speakeasy upstairs dedicated to Mexican Rum called Gilbert Perez Bar. *4% optional surcharge added to each check. *Metered street parking.

Came to Daisy to celebrate a friends birthday and it was a great experience. Parking may be tough but you can always find something within walking distance. My server was great, the restaurant is very visually appealing, and the food was great. I ordered the queso fundido which was exceptional! My recommendation is to ask for the chips rather than the tortillas. My main entree was the Pescabirria tacos and I have to say, WOW! These tacos were perfect because it had zero fishy taste or scent and the consomé was perfectly balanced. If I could eat more I would order that twice. For dessert we had some strawberry ice cream for my friends bday which they brought out and we requested the blue corn muffin as well. The muffin was good, it almost tasted like a tamale but the icings on top made it more enjoyable. To drink, I ordered the Gimlet which was good but a bit too sweet for my liking. Overall great place, I will be back.

I found this place after visiting some dive bars in the area, it was absolutely beautiful inside! I had to stop for a drink before the closed. They had a whole menu of late night bites as it is mostly a restaurant. I didn't get any food this time but I got a prickly pear cosmo and it was delicious! It was sweet instead is being tart which I really liked. The service was really great too, our server gave us a breakdown of all the tequilas and mezcals they offer. There's metered street parking and some valet located right next door. I'll definitely be retiring to try what's on their menu.

Went here for a friend's birthday and found the restaurant on Resy, where it had great reviews and was known for its specialty margaritas. The server was very kind and helpful and the ambiance was perfect date night casual. We started with the ceviche and also trio which were well balanced and bright. The black salsa was the spiciest and also our favorite! The cocktails were delicious, both refreshing and strong. For my meal I ordered the carne asada plate that I had cooked medium rare and it was well executed. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft/buttery on the inside. The photo I posted doesn't do it justice! All three of us were very happy with our meals and would love to go back.

The drink on the left was the best tequila drink I have ever had. Forgot the name!

I remembered seeing Wood & Water across the street from the Le Petit French restaurant we'd eaten at several years ago, and again while driving on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. So, I made the reservation via the Resy dining app and effortlessly secured an early dinner. Although valet service was available, we were lucky to snag an open street parking stall. Upon entering the warm, fire-lit restaurant, the jovial host greeted us and checked us in. He led us into a relatively empty dining room past the beautiful full bar. Within minutes after being seated, it seemed like the host led in a "busload" of fellow Christmas Eve revelers. Our friendly server, Michael, welcomed us, asked if we had any questions about the menus or food allergies, and then took our beverage order. After ordering cocktails and appetizers, we discussed our potential menu selections, perused their wine list, and ordered a bottle of Sangiovese. Michael was excellent about coursing our menu selections. FOOD: -Yellowtail & Watermelon Sashimi: Chili oil, Serrano, ponzu, yuzu onion. It seems that creative preparations of yellowtail or amberjack tuna sashimi are trending in LA restaurants. Wood & Water's combination of buttery yellowtail slices, tender sweet watermelon, spicy Serrano pepper slices, with a drizzle of yuzu onion sauce caught our palates. I especially appreciated the textural aspects and freshness of this appetizer. $22 -Truffle Kennebec Fries: Black summer truffles and pecorino shavings garnished the freshly made, hot, and crisp fries. The massive bowl of shoestring fries caught my husband's and his brothers' attention as we sipped our cocktails. They agreed that W&W's shoestring fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. $19 -Roasted Duck Breast: Michael confirmed the duck breast's medium-rare doneness would be okay, or if I wanted the duck breast to lean more towards rare or more fully cooked. Honestly, I'm pleased with medium-rare doneness, and that's exactly what I received. The deliciously roasted duck breast was plated atop a generous serving of wild mushroom risotto and enhanced with in-house brandied cherries. I was drawn to this dish because I like the pairing of roast duck with a fruit sauce. Although I was drawn to pistachio-crusted lamb chops, I planned to have lamb for dinner the following day. The duck breast had evenly browned, crispy skin, and its meat was tender and succulent. The in-house brandied cherries added a deep fruit flavor, which was enhanced by the warm brandy, along with subtle notes of vanilla and spices. $48 -Pork Chop: Asian Marinade, whole grain Dijon mustard mashed potatoes, quick pickled purple cabbage, and chimichurri. My husband and brother-in-law ordered this dish and were surprised by the thick 1-1/2" pork chop. They didn't think the combination of an Asian marinade would complement the other garnishes (quick-pickled purple cabbage and chimichurri). Still, apparently, after wolfing down the soft, tender, and succulent pork chop, they were proud to admit their "clean plate club membership." $44 -Pistachio-Crusted Lamb Chops: Six tender pistachio-crusted lamb chops were plated atop whipped eggplant with roasted/charred heirloom carrots. My eldest brother-in-law ordered this dish and let me sample a piece of the lamb chop. The pistachio-crusted lamb tasted luxurious and nutty, with flavor-enhancing herbs that created a pleasant savoriness. The roasted/charred heirloom carrots brought along their natural sweetness and a touch of herbaceousness from their seasonings. $62 -Peanut Butter Chocolate Turnover: Although we were all content with our meals and drinks, we were tempted to satiate our "sweet tooth." The peanut butter chocolate turnover appealed to our foursome, who wanted to share. The dessert was served warm, with the turnover's crust light and flaky, and a hot, ooey-gooey peanut butter and melted chocolate interior. The premium vanilla ice cream added an icy, creamy contrast and neutralized or mellowed the flavors of peanut butter and chocolate. $16 We're not residents, but after this dinner, my brothers-in-law and I left wondering why we hadn't tried this restaurant sooner. We'd happily return to try more of their signature cocktails and entrees for flavors, textures, presentation, and value. The service was excellent despite the huge Christmas Eve rush and crowd.

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)

Balance second. You feel it halfway through and keep going anyway. The Mac Daddy is comfort stacked on comfort. Burger underneath is fine. The mac is the headline. Creamy. Heavy. Cheesy in a way that coats the mouth. Fried egg breaks and runs. Rich on rich on rich. This is not a subtle dish. This is a commitment. Best eaten slowly or slightly tipsy. Short rib poutine goes late-night loud. Fries underneath stay crisp longer than expected. Gravy is deep and salty. Short rib shreds easy. Cheese pulls dramatically. It's messy. It's satisfying. Not elegant. Very effective. Chicken sliders surprise. Crispy chicken with real crunch. Slaw brings acid and keeps it from feeling flat. Bread is pillowy. Portion is dangerous because you'll finish them without realizing it. Buffalo cauliflower does what it needs to. Crispy exterior. Sauce clings. Heat is mild. Ranch cools it down. It's the table order that disappears first. Service matches the name. Friendly. Loose. Attentive without hovering. Drinks come quick. Food follows. Staff reads the room well. Knows when to joke. Knows when to hustle. The space feels like a neighborhood hang. Dim. Lively. A little chaotic in a fun way. This is a spot for groups. For fries in the middle. For one more round. It's giving... bar food that understood the assignment and didn't overthink it.

Loooove this wine bar! There's something about it that feels very NY-vibes. It feels like your…read morelocal small wine bar. The space isn't very large but they have some tables inside, some small "booth"-style seats that only seat one person per side, some bar seating, and a couple tables. They also have a table out front in their patio. They have an extensive wine list with a little bit of everything. They also have a happy hour until 6pm which gets you $2 off select wines. I've come here before and tried a bunch of their sparkling wines which was so fun and delicious and last night I came by and tried one of their NA sparkling rose wines which was pretty nice! I love that they have a couple NA wines on their list. Staff here are always so friendly. Prob my favorite local spot, just wish it was bigger!!

They have small two person booths, bar seating, and some seating outside. I recently came for a fun girls tarot card night and had so much fun. Great selection of wine, and food menu is small. I never come here expecting to eat a meal, I usually just get a little charcuterie board to go with my wine and it's great to share. Food can sometimes take a minute, because the person pouring the wine is also the one making your cheeseboard. Folks behind the bar are always friendly and approachable. One of my favorite spots in the Valley for a glass!
