Cute little spot in Studio City! Brussel sprouts are delicious. I got pasta with chicken, which the chicken was a little dry. The place is overall intimate and great for dinner date with friends and family!
This is a staple in the valley and I have been coming here for years - I love the food, I love how low-key it is and I love that they have a patio. I've tried a few of the dishes and everything is absolutely delicious and the banana cream pie is famous here! I have to say my absolute favorite dish is the octopus, and this is coming from someone who doesn't even like eating octopus!! SO GOOD best I've had in all of LA and I stand by it. It's made fresh daily and literally melts in your mouth. This time our server was Vlad who literally made the ordering process so easy and it was very nice to talk to. I wish more servers were this invested in our experience.
I can't rave enough about this place!! The food was absolutely phenomenal!!! Literally everything we ordered was delicious. Full of flavor & piping hot!!! My son, that does not eat tomatoes, ate EVERY single tomato that came with his salmon! I had the roasted chicken & potatoes...Cooked to perfection!!! We had NY Steak, crispy Brussel sprouts, chicken & waffles, & the absolute favorite buffalo cauliflower!!! Luis & his staff are amazing!! Very beautiful ambiance & amazing staff!!! Would highly recommend!!!
Food was hit and miss. - Short ribs were really dry and stringy. + Prawns was terrifically juicy and well seared + Brussels were crispy and tender. Perfectly roasted (though highly unhealthy with all the oil) Service: the staff were friendly enough though we had to repeatedly ask for water refills and our cups sat empty for 10 minutes at a time Ambiance: typical gastropub vibes
I'm a glutton for a good brunch and the menu at The Six looked really good. I'm also a sucker for good decor and the evening pics from other Yelp reviewers looked really cute. Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).
The menu here covers all your essential brunch options: savory, sweet, carbs, and health food. We arrived right when they opened at 10, to say the staff is friendly is an understatement. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our party was happy and comfortable. On one hand, the food does come out a little slow despite us being the only ones in the restaurant. On the other hand, the portions are generous and flavors are super intense. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so vibrant and jovial. From the staff to the decor, it's an easy yes to come here for brunch.
Came to The Six Chow/Social house for some drinks and appetizers after work. First we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The Inside is so beautiful and lightly lit with candles. It's the perfect ambience to catch up with friends. I ordered a Tijuana lover martini and wow she's so pretty and has a light lavender taste which I loved. We tried the following appetizer: the mac n cheese fritters which were crispy and perfectly cheesy, the fried pickles (a bit too over-fried but they did the job), and the brisket al pastor tacos which were incredibly juicy and tender. The Hawaiian flatbread is something I don't usually order but it is worth it! The pineapple isn't too overpowering, the brisket melted in my mouth, and the cheese and bread ratio was perfectly balanced. The peach royale pizza was the star of the night. Brown butter peaches, balsamic vinaigrette, burrata and crispy prosciutto. Such a delicious pizza that I am still thinking about since trying!! Now for the dessert, we ordered the vanilla bread pudding and banana cream pie. The bread pudding is something to order if you are in the mood for something sweet and rich. The banana pudding is delicious, creamy, and a must try dessert here. I enjoyed every single thing we ordered here. Lastly, I want to give a huge shoutout to the kind staff here that were so attentive and made us feel so welcome. A special mention for our server JC who when my friends mentioned we were celebrating my birthday, brought out the banana cream pie with a candle and sang happy birthday beautifully. I loved my experience here and will recommend others to support this place!!
Had a business luncheon at this establishment, and I have to say it was wonderful. The food came out in a very timely manner. The service was absolutely outstanding every single person that worked at the restaurant was so kind so respectful and on their A game for sure. The owner of this establishment was also wonderful. He wasn't just standing around and watching his employees. He was coming around the restaurant talking to everyone making sure that their experience was going well. The food was delicious. It had so much flavor. Textures and flavors all paired well together . It was wonderful. The dessert was also very good very rich. I would recommend this place to anyone whether they just wanna come have lunch, dinner, or having a corporate event. They have a very nice back room for a larger party.
Attended a dinner event in the private room and was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food and attentive service. The fried mac and cheese - a must order. Flat breads were fresh out of the oven. Tried the short rib lasagna, absolute decadent goodness served in a skillet. My colleagues ordered the six burger, salmon and chicken pot pie. All looked amazing. Check out this quaint and lovely restaurant. The ambiance is perfect for a "social" group setting and even for a special date night.

Came here for a department lunch with a party of 13 people, we were seated and helped right away because they literally just opened and we had made reservations just in case. There was plenty of seating inside and out and you can tell the place was picturesque because there was a lot of floral decorations and a photo wall. The food itself was okay, highly recommend the appetizers. We pretty much tried them all, love the cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. Next up were the pizzas, super yummy and the only thing that came out hot. Again, I think because we were a large party they probably waited for everyone's food to be ready. Later we did find out that they have good burgers. The one thing we didn't order lol so we'll have to try that next time!
Cool atmosphere! Very "LA"!!! Also, some pretty fancy platting - everything looked great! I loved the strawberry mojito too! It looked pretty and was refreshing. Kristen was fabulous! Very kind and attentive. We also had the free banana cream desert for checking in which was yummy. Downside was that the pizza oven was broken and our pizza was a little doughy. I'd like to try it again when the pizza oven is working. Overall, pleased with our dinner!
Really cute outdoor space. Inside was a quiet vibe. Wallpaper peeling off and bathroom is rundown. Delicious food. Mac and Cheese Fritters were dangerously good. My butternut squash flatbread was one note: garlic. We ordered a "bread for the table". We were told we'd be charged and we agreed. For $8 we got flatbread slices with salt and butter. Super yummy. The salt made all the difference. My sister loved her salmon. The fried pickles weren't anything special. Friends loved the Brussels and their drinks. Manager was great. Server was good. He did a good job but I had trouble hearing him. Parking is a bit difficult to back out of because you nose into a curb and there isn't much room to maneuver if someone is too close to you. I'd come back for more Mac and Cheese Fritters.

I read this review out loud to my husband before posting and he told me it was so filled with compliments that it may sound fake. I assure you, it's not. We've been in LA visiting for about a week. This place was a couple of miles from our hotel and got great reviews, so we decided to give it a try two nights ago, and took a Lyft over. First, let me say I'm glad we got a car service, because Vlad, one of the bartenders, mixes up some incredible drinks! I had a watermelon margarita, and then a lavender haze mocktail with some gin added. Both had complex flavors and were strong. We skipped appetizers in favor of desserts. The banana cream pie was amazing! Very flavorful, but not too sweet. But were foodies, and it was the entrees that stood out. My husband had a short rib lasagne that he raved about. I had a hard time deciding, but to keep it lighter, chose the roasted chicken. To be honest, in comparison to all of the other things on the menu, it sounded like the least inventive/creative item. I couldn't have been more wrong! The shallots were the star of the dish, and the chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I savored every delicious bite. The service was truly top-notch as well. Every staff member was warm and genuinely happy to have us there. We decided we wanted to go back on our last night, which is supposed to be tonight. We even told the staff we'd be back Thursday, because it was SO good. Our friends, who live in LA, suggested a very different dining experience for our last night, and we will likely go do that. I'm genuinely sad, though, I was looking forward to going back. Maybe we'll try to swing in for a drink and dessert or something. Six has great ambiance, dim and cozy - don't let the strip mall exterior fool you. Felt just right for a date night. The food presentation was thoughtful, as well. Our bill was $140. Not sure if that's high for California, as we live on the East Coast. That would be a little expensive for us, but we felt it was reasonable for the 4 drinks, two meals and dessert we got, given the caliber of food. I know there are so many places you could choose in the area, but Six truly is a gem! read more
Came in on a Saturday evening and was surprised by how empty it was, but honestly, it made for such a nice and relaxing dinner. We sat outside, and the views paired with all the lights made for such a beautiful atmosphere! Our server, Collen, was so sweet and helpful, especially when we needed suggestions on what to order. The food was good overall. I personally would've liked the cauliflower to have a little more crunch, but the flatbread was definitely the star of the show, she was delicious!! The drinks were also really good. Between the beautiful outdoor seating, good food, drinks, and friendly service, I'd definitely come back! read more

The food was wonderful! I highly recommend the chicken and waffles and the baked salmon if you're looking for healthier options. The vibes were amazing upon arrival and our server was even more wonderful! I came for my mom's birthday and was pleasantly pleased with food, drinks, service, and location. Our server JC sang happy birthday to my mom and he sang BEAUTIFULLY!!!! Wonderful place, I will be coming back! read more
I came here for the first time with my friend last week for my birthday and overall it was a really nice experience. The space is beautiful and has a great vibe, definitely a chill spot to hang out. We weren't super hungry so we just got tacos and the cauliflower, and both were really good. The drinks were solid too, nothing crazy but definitely enjoyable. Service was great and everything came out pretty quick. I wouldn't say anything we had was mind blowing, but it's definitely still a place worth going to. Although, the place was a bit smaller than I pictured. read more

We came here for the first time with friends for an early dinner. Just walking in the environment was different than most and very interesting and engaging. I had a turkey burger that was very tasty along with sweet potato fries and my wife really enjoyed her salmon salad. Coin was a good server and the four of us all enjoyed our food and will definitely come back, even though $19 for a turkey burger seemed a little high priced. read more

I came here for dinner the other night with my family. It was the first time we had been here even though we had previously lived in the Studio City area for many years. It's right across the street from Carney's hot dog stand and where the old Jerry's Deli used to be off Ventura Blvd. The place was decorated nicely and it was quite clean. They have a popular brunch scene on the weekends and you can totally tell that it would be booming with that sort of business. I normally never order steaks, but the one I got was the New York strip. It was very big and very delicious. It was perfectly cooked and really tender. Everyone else got a wide range of appetizers and other dinner entrées, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I ordered. I can't remember our server's name, but she was OK. She disappeared for periods of time throughout our stay. Towards the end of the night, we actually got more interaction from one of the waiters named Luis and the bartender named Vlad. They were very sweet and hospitable. Even though they were closing for the night and politely kicking us out, we were having such a good time. They were good sports about it. They helped us take some photos in front of a beautiful floral arrangement that's meant for posting on social media, I'm assuming. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be back to see what options they have for breakfast and lunch. read more

We were looking for a picturesque place to celebrate by bestie's mom's birthday and The Six was on the list. We had a table reserved in the charming back patio. Even though it was a chilly day the heat lamps kept us warm. A cross between a bistro and a gastropub, this cozy little place emits a welcoming vibe. A majority of the décor is derived from recycled materials, which adds to the charm. Menu items feature seasonal ingredients and cocktails are made with low ABV spirits. Our server was Kirstin. She was delightful and managed the demands of our party like a pro. A round of drinks got the festivities started. My first was the Basil Fizz and later I had the Skinny Studio Heat. Both cocktails were tasty and packed a punch. I also tried the Tijuana Lover Martini, which was also quite good and beautifully presented. We got the Heirloom Tomato Flatbread to share. A perfectly crispy, chew crust topped with fresh Heirloom tomatoes, avocado, burrata, & basil with a drizzle of Balsamic Gastrique. The dishes that were ordered were: Bone in Pork Chop, Organic Garden Salad, Truffle Risotto with shrimp and one with chicken, Salmon Salad, Brisket Al Pastor Tacos, and Drunken Burger with garlic fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal options. We didn't order dessert because my bestie brought a cake. Kirstin brought it out with a giant candle so we could sing to the birthday girl. I came here for happy hour a month or two ago. They have a good happy hour. Our cocktails were good and we ordered a good amount of food including Buffalo cauliflower, mac n cheese fritters, Hawaiian brisket flatbread and the Six burger to share. My faves were the cauliflower and the flatbread! The service was friendly and attentive, especially since me and my friend were some of the few people there. The ambiance is cozy and can be romantic because of the lighting. read more

When in the course of Yelp searches, one must find a proper, perfect, and prime establishment to enjoy a dinner of such elegance as a date night or a birthday or special occasion...there comes a moment of reflection that is always a dilemma. And so the search must be thorough... The Six Social House is an exemplary example of how Yelp can help you find the very best in cuisine in any city you choose. Thank God!! But please, I feel proud to have chosen so wisely in my wide search to find this fine establishment nestled near Ventura Blvd, tucked near its hills and offering the very best in a dining experience any place can offer. It was for a birthday dinner and after making reservations on Yelp we settled in after being graciously invited in by Colin our host and server on a Sunday night. Colin took great care in making sure we had a wonderful evening. Luis also part of the staff looked after us making sure we were happy. We started with drinks--they offer some good cocktails. I ordered an old fashioned while she had a dirty martini. Both good. We promptly ordered our entrees -- the risotto and the steak. Both were excellent and are recommended. Very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Colin checked on us from time to time and made sure the night was memorable. Great service! What sealed the meal was a banana cream dessert made special by the house -- topped with a candle and sparkler to give us a magical show which really made a difference and brought smiles to our faces. We attended a private luncheon at The Six Social House and it was truly amazing! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and shown the way to the banquet room. Tastefully decorated and welcoming, I am considering having a party here myself. It's beautiful! The waiters were friendly, very attentive and refilling our drinks and the appetizers without having to wait. We cannot believe that we have never been here before, but we will definitely be back again soon! We highly recommend a stop here for the delicious food and beautiful ambiance. I've quickly become obsessed with this restaurant! I've only come to the six social house in the evening: once on a weekday and the other on a Saturday night. Both were pleasant experiences! Atmosphere is always on point, you can either dine inside or outside. We've only stayed inside because it has been a bit cold. In the back they have heaters, which have come in clutch since it's been on the colder side. Their menu isn't super large but there is definitely something for everyone! Their salads are tok tummy to pass up, so that's what I've ordered both times, and then added salmon to it. I ordered the kale Cesar and it's so fresh! We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower as our appetizer the second visit, and it was so yummy! Our waiter, Luis was amazing with his customer service and very friendly. We ended up ordering some fun shooters and had one cocktail off of the menu. I always enjoy a great breakfast in a equally amazing place. For starters the vibe and energy are amazing the second you walk through the place. The food is amazing as you need to start with THE SIX MAC N CHEESE FRITTERS which is Six chesses, chipotle peach BBQ and ranch. The EGG SANDWICH which is soft scramble, bacon, cheddar, avocado, arugula, basil and aioli fries is full of flavor. The waffles is another great choice. Hi, trying to make a reservation but it only gives the option for 5:30 or 9 but nothing in between for all dates?
We do take reservations for all day but if you can’t make it between those times we might be fully book during those hours but you can always call the restaurant to make a reservation and sometimes we have some available Tables that are not listed…
Is there a parking lot or do we have to park on the street? Is there valet parking?
There's a lot shared with several businesses so parking in that lot is extremely limited. You'll probably end up parking on the street (metered parking). I can't recall if there was valet when I went.
Do you have any drinks without alcohol?
Yes. They have water and soft drinks. Not sure if there are special non alcohol drinks but They are very accommodating and can come up with something if you ask.
Do they answer the phone? Trying to reserve but is automatically rejected and voice mail is not set up

I would call. Knowing these guys, they will probably cut it at 2, probably a last call but I'd call to check. The service is so bad here I quit going.
