    Olive & Grill Trio
    Derek M.

Came here from my mother's birthday last weekend. First and foremost it's in the back of the building so don't go to the very front. Walk down the driveway and you'll see it on your left side. Secondly, it is outdoors, although it is covered so dress accordingly. Our one critique about the entire experience was the bugs. Maybe they should invest in those little table top fans that swat away the bugs. But other than that service was pretty good, food was excellent, and the atmosphere was phenomenal. Pricewise you get a lot of bang for the buck. We got the Bronzino, the beef plate which has the ground beef kebab and the fillet and we got the fillet plate as well. Honestly, for fillet incredibly priced in the $30-$40 range. Basic side of rice and pita. We did try the trio of dips. Probably our least favorite. The tzatziki and the hummus were good. The eggplant dip not so much. Falafel were cooked perfectly and the cheese in dough which we can't remember right now was amazing. Definitely headed back

WORLD CLASS DINNER LAST NIGHT @ Olive & Grill in Studio City Nisma, my wife, and I had the absolute BEST lamb chops we had ever eaten. You know how some lamb chops have that gamey smell and aftertaste? Not here! Our host, Christina Pope, had the chicken on a skewer. The appetizers were AMAZING as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Ask for Tony who is a personable, great guy . Tell him Jeff sent you.

I've been to Olive & Grill twice now. The first visit was in the summer of 2024, and it was very hot. Since this is an outdoor-only restaurant, they had misters running, which I appreciated--but unfortunately, the mist got into our food. It made the dining experience uncomfortable, and I wasn't thrilled about that. We gave it another shot more recently, and I'm glad we did. The second visit was definitely better. However, one thing I didn't love was being seated at a very small table. I get that it was a Friday night and they probably had reservations lined up, but at the time we arrived, there was only one other person dining and a large group. It felt unnecessarily cramped. On to the food--which is where this place shines! We ordered the Armenian coffee, which was strong and delicious. Their house lentil soup was absolutely mouthwatering, made with lentils, cumin, aleppo pepper, chopped onions, butter, and chicken bouillon. The fattoush salad was another standout--refreshing and packed with flavor. I loved how they served it with a whole pita on top that they crack into the salad right before serving. For an appetizer, we shared the Olive & Grill trio, which was nice and a great way to sample a few things. For our entrée, we had the combo beef and chicken lula. While not the best kabobs I've ever had, they were still good and satisfying. The first time we came I got the chicken served with bellpeppers and the rice was more flavorful. This time there were no peppers and the rice was okay. Overall, the food and service make this place worth coming back to. Just be prepared for the fully outdoor setup and request a larger table if possible!

This is an outdoor dining restaurant. The ambiance is really nice. They serve mix of Middle Eastern food. Portions are smaller compared to the other similar restaurants. Food tastes good and they have a variety of desserts too. Service is good. Our waiter kept checking on us. He was pleasant and friendly. They also have Hookah. It is a really cozy and nice restaurant. I highly recommend it for a weekend dinner spot.

The food is good here and I love the portions! I've been here about 5 or 6 times and I normally order the same things. The drinks are good, and the service is usually pretty good. It's a vibe and super cute inside. It's perfect for a lunch date or a dinner date. Also love that they have live musician performances. The filet plate & shrimp is good as well! Garlic sauce and red sauce is a perfect touch

Big fan. Some of the best seasoned chicken breast I've had maybe ever at a Mediterranean place. Loved the zataar labne, falafel, cheese boreg also. Their house made pita is fantastic. Great service, super cute place, and even good live music on a Sunday (and usually I think music is annoying while I'm trying to talk to people). Suggested Improvements: $6 for an iced tea is unnecessary. Still not sure why we were brought two bottles of water to pay for when we just wanted tap water. The pita that comes with the dishes is store bought and should be house made. Chicken breast kebab is nearly $30 for a single skewer with five small pieces and a ton of rice.

This place was so cute! We sat on the patio in a booth and it was so nice!! The food was also delicious. We got a hummus and my friend and I shared this. Chicken breast was better than the chicken Lula for sure! Rice was very flavorful too. Would dine here again! The service was also very quick and friendly!

This is an outdoor restaurant with a roof cover so please dress accordingly! They do have space heaters but I always need an extra jacket even with those. They offer hookah that I didn't spot on the menu so if you have sensitive lungs be aware as other tables near you can be smoking. Parking can be done via paid metered parking on Ventura OR if you come after 5 pm or on a holiday or a Sunday in the nearby Wells Fargo parking lot. Our waitress was kind and lovely and told us on weekends from 8:30-10 they have belly dancers perform! but recommended making a reservation during these times to guarantee seating. The portions are large (we took 1/2 home each) and fresh. I will absolutely be returning and likely during said belly dancing performances. LA sunset - 4/5, I loved the combo of vodka : cucumber : mint though it was not a strong drink Ras Kebbel (Ishli Kofta) 5/5, well seasoned tasty beef stuffed inside that pairs beautifully with lemon juice drizzled on top but the shell is a little hard and thereby challenging to bite through Combo beef and chicken lulas 4.5/5 This comes with a mildly spicy sauce as well as a garlic sauce. The spice especially paired well with the chicken Lula. The rice was seasoned and this plate comes with a baked tomato. Chicken shawarma 5/5, my mom got this, noted it comes with pickled radishes, onions, and pickles. The shawarma was well seasoned and soft and melted in your mouth. The paired rice was well cooked and seasoned well.

If you arrive after 5pm park next door in the Wells Fargo parking lot. The garage closes at 10:30 on weekdays at least so you will have to move your car. The ambiance is romantic with minimal elegant decor. Our server Elle was warm and very helpful the entire night. I ordered the lamb chops which were good but I would have enjoyed my entree more if it was hotter. We were celebrating my birthday so ended the meal with the French Napoleon. I think it's my new favorite dessert, the texture is perfect. Light and delicious!

One star for the kababs being tasty otherwise everything else was LACKING ESP SERVICE. Lahmajaan was served cold. Quantity of rice was wayy too much for no reason and I felt like they should've served half amount of rice with maybe half amount of salad so I even asked the server TWICE if I could just pay for a side of salad and he refused saying the owner has strict rules and he can't give me a small salad and I said you have salad on the menu just give me half the portion and charge me half the price and he goes sorry no the owner has strict rules?? I'm sorry but what kind of owner has such strict rules that can't be bent for the customers you are serving?! And rules over SALAD like wtf?? I've worked in customer service and I've bent over backwards to make my customers happy and this restaurant lacks that customer priority. Owner should go back to school to learn how to treat his customers. Also, knafeh was GROSS. look at the photo it's like potato stuffed knafeh wasn't even cheese. Also, silverware just had fork and knife? You should have option of both fork and spoon smh.

Great service, great food, great cocktails, and amazing ambience. My favorite is the kibbeh naye chi-kofta. I am super picky and love it! The fattoush is also fresh, crispy and full of flavor. I usually do the combo chicken and beef plate, with a side of a skinny margarita. The knafeh dessert is also a must!

Randomly pick this place just because of the location and where my friends and I normally meet. It was such a pleasant surprise. The ambience is perfect. It was kind of chilly. The heaters were on your kind of outside. There's twinkly lights everywhere. It was great. The food was also fantastic. We shared the sampler with the dips and pita, and then we all really enjoyed our entrées. . I had the beef combo plate and the filet mignon and even the Lula were cooked to perfection. My friends had the vegetable and the chicken Shawarma and they loved it.. We felt compelled to order dessert, even though we don't normally order dessert, the Napoleon suggested by our waiter and we got it delicious. Kavi was our server and he was so terrific. He was patient. He was knowledgeable. He gave us a suggestions and just overall seems like a really kind person. The restaurant managers name is Joey. We let him know his team member and he's pretty great himself.. Highly recommend in general, and definitely a great option for date night or special dinner . Was told they have belly dancers and live on the weekends and reservations are encouraged. I would give this place 10 out of 10 if I could.!

Prices for some items, i like to know about restaurants prices before hitting the place

I love those place so much for its cozy family vibe, Staff is friendly nice and accommodating Food is also so good i didn't get to take pictures we ate it right away Good thing they have pre sit menus for more than one option ! And u can do individual orders if u wish too We love the ambience and the music and the fireplace. Side note : they dont serve hooka anymore "yes its unfortunate, but it still worth it for every thing else ! We need to support local restaurants as its so sad watching a place like this not packed on Sunday night. We were 5 people and we had plenty of food for 320!

The brick barrel vaulted ceiling that runs the length of the restaurant really adds to the ambiance of this place. Out of the seven dishes, only two were not as flavorful as expected. They were good by any other restaurant's standards, but just not great like the others. The other five dishes more than made up for this small blip. Can't wait to go again. Must tries: Quail Deviled Eggs with Ahi Tuna and Dill are amazing!! Hamachi with sprouted broccoli, tempura, ponzu, shiso aioli, Black Sesame Seeds Charred Brussels Sprouts with almonds, grapes, and Pecorino Romano. Lamb chops with Aji Amarillo, rosemary, and yogurt. These were the most tender lamb chops I have ever had. And that often overly-lamb flavor was not there. And do not pass up on the Charred Skirt Steak with yuca, chile de árbol, and aji mojo. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and extremely tender and exploding with flavor. The most expensive item of our dinner at $48 and worth it. A large portion that fed four of us.

Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).

There was the tastefully low mood lighting, and of course, the tunes of a scattered jazz jam session. We get to our seats and are told the place was designed to heighten and maximize the patrons' listening experience, no matter where they were in the establishment. The menu wasn't overwhelming from a volume standpoint. It screamed a curated adventure through a brand of Americana that knew it had ethnic roots on different continents. That's a cool prospect to dig into but knew we weren't going to order the whole menu. My wife and I were still feeling like we had to get our very first selections right though. More pressure. We started with the Hokkaido Milk Buns (super recommended) and the Wagyu Tartare. I'm such a poor sucker for bakery bun from an Asian grocery store. 99 Ranch has a lot of my money because it. These were perfectly fresh and airy. The sweet butter was a good sidekick, but with the right bread that sits with your soul, you never really need much for it. The tartare did taste as advertised. And more sexy bread in the toast! In this case, the toast was the sweet butter. You didn't need it. You could have spooned the tartare like it was ice cream, but you certainly didn't mind the brioche slices tagging along. There were our mains: Dungeness crab campanelle, and the braised lamb pasta. We went back and forth about ordering a side of roasted carrots, but you only have one specific birthday to start your mid-thirties, so I opted for it. If you've been reading my reviews, you know I don't go out of my way for seafood. I'll have a bite. I'll be as openminded as a foodie should, but it won't be invited to my cookout. I didn't hate it. The miso and aji Amarillo peppers gave this a really familiar tuna casserole profile. My wife asked me not to tell anyone that. But it brought me back to my childhood, where even then, I was not crazy about seafood, but I was mature in my thinking enough to know the casserole was going to feed me. If you observed us that night, I might've snuck a couple of forked noodles to taste the roasted almonds and some of the uni residue with the cheesy tones. The braised lamb pasta was the richest, fullest flavor I've had for pasta in a while. The lamb was abundant and savory and lean, providing such a serious punch when supported by the padano. It was a smidge creamy, and greasy - optimally speaking. It had such a dark and cheesy-bitter personality. The charred green onions probably were in the mix more than I anticipated. Roasted root vegetables are just very satisfying potatoes, at the end of the day. The carrots ate more like fun, herbaceous fries, showered in a vinegar concoction. Loved it. The chumichurri and togarashi spices aligned for a peppery bite. The vinegar did give the carrots a pickled skin so it was helpful for cutting through the brightness of the crab campanelle and the boldness of the braised lamb. Verse took the pressure on the night and gave us food baby diamonds. I'd say we're encouraged to check out more of the supper club scene after our visit. If the bar was set at any place, it was for the sensibility of how the music pairs with the food. The strings and the particular pitter-pat on the drums kept us going. It kept us talking. It kept us eating.

I had to get use to sipping my margarita like a civilized person, rather than gulping it down. We started with the queso fundido. Too bad it cools so quickly and is so thick. It had a trio of salsas on top. And the chips are excellent. They brought us plenty of refills on chips. We ordered the salsa sampler. Three different salsas in tiny ramekins. All tasty, but usually Mexican restaurants give you salsa and chips for free. We had to spend $18. I had a chile rellano unlike any I have had before. A lot of black beans, a blistered chile and some cojita cheese sprinkled on top. I am used to a chile rellano filled with cheese. It was just okay. My husband had the carne aside. Basically a steak and roasted potatoes. Nice steak, but nothing Mexican about it. The potatoes were ordinary. Our guest ordered AGUACHILE DE CHAYOTE squash, pineapple aguachile, cilantro macho. She wanted a vegetarian option. This was a cold soup. She had no idea what she was getting. I guess we should have asked. All in all the menu is confusing. I have eaten Mexican food throughout LA and travelled extensively in Mexico, and this was all very new to me. They did tell us at the beginning that things were good to share. This would have been a good sharing dish with the chips. It was very unusual. The dessert flan was very tasty with pecans and a crispy churro like garish. We would have like a little more explanation on the menu of what we were ordering. Every item is unexpected and out of the ordinary. Daisy is a good place to go for a taste adventure, good margaritas and a hefty bill.

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

I love Amir's Falafel!…read more I've lived in Studio City for 17 years, and I've always gone to Amir's when I've had the craving for falafel or Shawarma. Located on the corner of Ventura and Colfax, Amir's has fantastic meat on a spit and Israeli salads. I love their carrot salad, their smoked eggplant, and their tomato and cucumber salad. Meats are well seasoned, juicy, and the portions are generous. Their falafel balls are well seasoned, and their hummus has a texture that I really enjoy -- it's got a tiny bit of grit to it instead of being perfectly smooth. I lived in Israel when I was in college, and I find their food to be very authentic to what I used to eat on Ben Yehuda Street. The parking lot can get a little crowded, but it's free parking, which is a plus. Service is friendly and pretty quick! There are so many great falafel and Shawarma places in the valley...but my heart belongs to Amir's.

The food is really good (typically order Amir's Special Plate), and the staff is decent, but they seem to have a serious hygiene problem in the kitchen. Back in March, I found hair in my food. I called them directly, and they were very polite. They apologized and remade my order. Because I really liked the food, I was hesitant but ultimately willing to give them another chance today. Unfortunately, I found hair in the food a second time. I understand mistakes happen, but a repeat of the exact same hygiene issue months apart shows a lack of proper quality control. As much as I enjoy the food, I just can't comfortably go back after this second experience. I requested a refund through Postmates and won't be ordering again.
