After seeing the low score, I was a little worried but I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised and we enjoyed our experience. My husband made dinner reservations for the same day and when we got there we were seated right away. The inside is a bit dark and not as new as other places but it was clean and the service was amazing. Our server was always checking on us and so warm and friendly. Menu offers a lot of different options from pizza, pasta, chicken, beef and seafood options. Prices are average, nothing extreme. Once we put in our order, everything came out fairly quickly. Caprese: 4/5, it was lacking salt Garlic bread: 3/5, would prefer more garlic Chicken Marsala: 5/5 Dish came out hot and the flavors were on point. Tiramisu: 4/5

I made a reservation through 'Resy' while in town visiting. My husband and I were absolutely blown away by this place. We ordered garlic knots, mussels, halibut and chicken piccata. It was also my birthday and restaurant went above and beyond to have a little birthday placard and offer a cannoli with a birthday candle. Our sever was extremely attentive (although I don't remember her name, she was on-top of everything from checking in on us, refilling drinks and clearing plates.) everything was served in a very reasonable time and we never felt rushed. My husband is a tough food critic and he was absolutely in love with each dish he was served. His halibut melted in your mouth and everything tasted like it was straight from Italy. We also went a little crazy and ordered additional dessert options because.... Why not? The Banana cake, tiramisu, and a scoop of gelato were all divine. Parking is extremely accessible and located on a lovely little street with walkable shops. It is a tinier restaurant, so definitely encourage a reservation. I LOVED the red booths.

I usually don't like to write bad reviews, but this time I had to. This facility claims to be no tipping/ optional tipping facility. They have a kitchen appreciation fee of 3.50 added to the bill. They state that customer can ask the server to remove it. 3.5% is not a big deal. My main issue is the discrepancy between my bill and suggested tipping at the bottom of my bill. When the server handed me the card reader the tipping option started at 20%, 22% and etc. at the bottom of receipt suggested tip start @2%. I find this being dishonest and taking advantage of customers. Either make sure your recipe matches with suggested tipping or just put 20% tipping on your receipts. If you wonder, why I didn't say anything to our server, it is because as I was paying my CC bill I noticed discrepancy. For food, I can say food was really good. We really enjoyed our food. For ambiance, restaurant is nice and looks modern. It was very clean and well maintained. Our server was nice and friendly. She kept checking on us. For parking, this location is valet parking mostly. There is street parking available too.

Highly recommend this place! My friends and I went here for dinela and you definitely got your money's worth for a 3 course meal. I ordered the burrata bruschetta, chicken Parmesan and tiramisu. Everything was great and well paced. The waiter was great and came by to check on us. Parking was easy though looks like they have vallet too. I liked the high ceilings with chandeliers. Very Italian feel.

We had an exceptional and truly memorable experience at Vitello's--an evening that felt as much about hospitality and legacy as it was about the food. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and seated promptly, with attentive service that felt genuine rather than routine. Arriving just before the dinner rush gave the evening a calm, unhurried rhythm, and our birthday reservation was handled seamlessly. The food was outstanding. The shrimp and calamari appetizer was both generous and impeccably prepared--the shrimp were notably large, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The linguine frutti di mare and cioppino were deeply satisfying--rich, layered, and full of flavor, clearly reflecting thoughtful preparation and quality ingredients. What elevated the evening beyond expectations was the personal touch. The owner took the time to visit our table, sharing the history of Vitello's dating back to 1964 with a sense of pride that was both genuine and infectious. We were then graciously guided by the host on a tour of the space, and the jazz club and speakeasy proved to be a true highlight--an intimate, atmospheric glimpse into the character and soul of the restaurant. There is something enduring about Vitello's. You can feel it in the way guests are received, in the care behind each dish, and in the stories woven into the walls. It's not simply a place to dine--it's a place to experience. Highly recommended for those seeking an evening that is both elevated and deeply personal.

I was back once again with a few old friends from a time over thirty years ago that we toiled and bonded together in the world of business. For me this evening brought me home to the Rendition Room and the incomparable Scott. As usual we imbibed with Scott's rendition of dirty Gin martini's with the wonder of the right mixture of Gin and brine. The ladies in the party wen't drinking , but being hungry concentrated on the food menu. They decided on the delicious pan seared branzino , the stew like cioppino , and I had the lightly lemon flavoured shrimp scampi. All the dishes were fresh and appropriately as usual flavoured perfectly. The idea of each of us sharing each dish worked out as well. The food was brought out piping hot by Scott. As is the case the food here is made to order. Unlike a fast food establishment where the food is pre made and then placed under heat lamps this method made to order is the opposite of fast food and the difference is obviously noted in wonderful prepared Italian dishes shared by all. The great thing about bars is the not lost in time idea of congeniality. You gather there many times with a group of friends wrapped in the atmosphere of congenial pleasure. Scott the master mixologist as usual handled the room and the patrons with his usual friendly expertise. Every bar in this and other towns across America lend the idea of meeting with old and new friends with great expectations of wonderful evenings. The Rendition Room with Scott the craft drinks and superb food live up to those expectations.

Tried to come here for the speakeasy inside, Rendition Room, but turns out we need reservations so we ended up at the bar in Vitellos instead. We had a few glasses of wine and the Sicilian heat. Was ok. Probably wouldn't come back.

First visit here and we came for the monthly "2 martini" lunch to see Brad "Martini" Chambers and Mother Miriam from the Martini in the Morning internet radio program. We shared a delicious flatbread with a perfect crust. I enjoyed a spicy Bloody Mary and the man had a glass of Pinot Noir. The service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely return to try their dinner entrees.

Stopped in for a nightcap and some desserts. They closed at 10pm which we arrived an hour before closing. Saturday night, valet was packed but the restaurant itself wasn't that busy. Majority of the people seemed to be upstairs versus the main dining area. Lorenzo who took care of us was very sweet. Friendly and very attentive to everything. We didn't look through the menu as we just had dinner. Nightcap, had the espresso martini and Irish coffee. That Irish coffee really packs a punch with the first sip. Storing and tasty. Espresso martini was ok. For the sweet tooth, a slice of the brown butter banana cake which had a drizzles of balsamic that was quite nice. One of our group wasn't too fond of the pairing but in my opinion, it was quite nice and went well together. Also had a cannelloni, quite nice with the creme and chocolate chips. Service was great, Lorenzo took very good care of us. Vibe was nice and chill later on in the evening. It's been a while since I was last here for dinner so to be back for a nightcap, it was great. Everything was nice and the experience was fun.

I had a lovely evening at Vitello's last night. My friend and I came here on a whim and didn't have reservations. We opted to sit at the upstairs bar. It was dimly lit and cozy. Beautiful Christmas decorations, and the Velvet Martini Lounge was going off with karaoke. The singers were actually good! My friend and I shared a large caesar salad and lasagna. They were both delicious. I had a glass of rose wine and my friend had a Tito's. Rachel was our server and she was very sweet and efficient. All the staff members were exceptional!

Look at all those comfy-looking, spacious tables with bench seating (as seen from my tiny table squashed in the middle of the room)

I'd like to come back to Vitello's to try one of their pasta dishes, so it's likely I'll update my review in the future, hopefully with a better star rating. However, for my first time here, the three stars are for the overall experience, which was sullied due to the table at which we were seated. Upon making a reservation, be sure to request outdoor seating, which other reviewers seem to enjoy, or a WALL TABLE. They have several small tables smushed together in the centre of the room, giving the unfortunate diners placed there the unpleasant feeling of eating in a high school cafeteria. Even though we were prompt for our reservation and the dining room was mostly empty, we were plopped at a table for two in the middle of the room, closest to the kitchen and the host desk. I had a perfect view of a trolley of cleaning supplies, groups of other patrons waiting in the lobby for their tables, and, most cruelly, a roomful of empty tables with plenty of elbow room and comfy-looking bench seating. The hostess even had the audacity to say "here's your lovely table" before flitting away. I should have asked for a wall table right then, but I thought since it wasn't busy, it might be fine. There was no room for my purse, so I had to hold it on my lap under my napkin. I was privy to every mini staff meeting, since we were right next to the kitchen and they'd huddle and hiss with hushed whispers (or shout at each other over my head). Every person being seated at a better table paraded past me, invading my space. Whilst we were eating, the male host cleaned the table right next to ours. Not a little spritz and wipe down. He sprayed and scrubbed every inch of that glass top, circling the table multiple times, sticking his ass in my face as I was trying to enjoy my meal. Even if the people who dirtied the table were utter pigs and a meticulous deep-cleaning was necessary, couldn't it have waited until we left and both tables were empty? Other than the oblivious hosts, the service was friendly and efficient. Oh, yeah. The food. The garlic knots and marinara were pretty good, the lasagna was tasty, and the plate I ordered - recommended by another Yelper, the espresso-rubbed pork chop - was fine. Tender and juicy pork with an interesting burnt finish due to the rub, plus nice mashed potatoes and some mostly edible overcooked and over-seasoned broccolini (but don't ask me; I prefer just-barely-steamed, plain vegetables). My Aperol spritz was serviceable. If you drive there, keep on goin' past their silly little valet and turn down Woodbridge, then park on Kraft. Plenty of unmetered, no-restrictions street parking just a block away.

Vitello's is one of my favorite hidden gems in LA! I remember when it was a simple little takeout spot on Ventura. They new spot is amazing, I love the cozy layout and design. All their pasta is amazing! This time I kept it simple and had the Calamari and Shrimp which was breaded and fried to perfection and the Sweet Potato Fries. Always great customer service as well.

My friends band The Jazz Cartel is playing at Vitello's on Monday march 25, how early can we sit upstairs for the concerts?…

That's correct. Usually an hour before the show starts, doors open unless soundcheck is still going on, but their sound their is pretty great. It's actually a lot better than most restaurants.

It's easy to get lost but it's easy to find after you read the sign and pass Madewell. It was a girls night out experience and we had fun on a Saturday evening. For food I ordered the bread and butter that was Shareable and the tuna ahi with chips that was 3/5. It could have been more flavorful. The bread and butter was 5/5 though. Very hot and soft. For the wine I had the Grenache and sparkling rose that was very good!!! My fav two selections. I highly suggest !! The service was really good and pretty fast! We had Yesi as our server and she was very attentive and good personality!! I would like to have her again!! The ambiance is cute and nice surrounded by beautiful plants you can purchase. I will try Cosette again! The parking was expensive in the lot! They only give 90 min free parking after it's a few every hour or min. I had to pay $20, so just FYI.

I do remember seeing that it's a coffee shop as there were people working on their laptops every time I've walked by. Well what caught our eyes, they were offering 2 for 1 wine during the art walk. Well, that was a no given that we needed to stop by to check it out. The place is quite cute. Dim lighting in the lounge area. Tables with a candle light and lightly dim throughout the whole place. Seating right when you walk in as well as and some table outside. The second room or back area is where you order. There's a glass displays with all the pastries. Not only a coffee shop, but a wine bar. I honestly didn't know that they offered this. There was a good selections of the reds available for the 2 for 1. Pricewise, it range from 16.00-18.00 a glass. As it was the art walk, it was quite busy. You order, which the gentlemen that was taking orders was quite friendly. All the staff member were friendly. After ordering, you just wait till your drinks were brought out and names were called. Also seat yourself. The concept with wine and coffee is quite smart as it brings everyone in. Obviously as it was the art walk, it was quite busy. I can't believe whenever I walked by so many times and never walked in. Knowing now that it's wine and coffee it's a must next time.

Perfect place for a day or night time sip, thoughtful snacks on their menu and to enjoy with a friend or two. The setup is fast-casual style, where you order at the bar and then find a seat. The staff was excellent throughout the visit. They were patient, took the time to answer questions, and did a great job explaining the different wine options. They also let us sample a few wines before deciding, which I always appreciate. I ended up ordering the Rosso Veronese. It was dry overall but had a touch more sweetness than I expected, which made it easy to drink given I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. We also benefited from a special on the wine because it had been featured at an event the previous day. The space itself was comfortable and inviting. We grabbed a spot on one of the couches, which gave the evening a more relaxed feel compared to a typical wine bar setup. Pricing is about what you'd expect for a wine-focused spot. It's not inexpensive, but it didn't feel unreasonable either, especially considering the service and atmosphere. Between the knowledgeable staff, the opportunity to sample wines, and the comfortable setting, I'd happily come back and try a few more selections.

Food was good, but service was lacking, and at the price point was not of value to us.

It's a restaurant with an overall speakeasy vibe BUT is not dark and foreboding. Rather, its high ceilings, well spaced out tables, and appropriately lit dining/bar space has a welcoming, cool vibe! And the music to fill the space before the live music was well, my kinda music - vibey 80s/90s hip hop. On top of that, the STAFF - the folks we met on a Monday (senior citizen hour) night were incredibly kind and attentive. We did stay through the first set of musicians that performed and it was great. Loud, but not loud enough that me and my friend couldn't still talk. Now onto the food. A nice surprise, considering this is a music joint! That bread was solid. The side portions decent - mushrooms and broccoli were fine. The steak was a generous size, cooked appropriately medium rare, and came with a unique side of bone marrow salsa. That was a nice, interesting touch. Was it the BEST food I've ever had? Not exactly, BUT it was the best food as part of a music joint, in the Valley. So the 5 star rating is really for the OVERALL experience.

**TL;DR: Great food, but terrible seating layout and "VIP" policy ruins the experience**…read more We booked a reservation well in advance and explicitly selected the main dining room, looking forward to the live music experience Verse is known for. Instead, we were placed to the right of the stage in a row of three 2-person tables (which they still consider the "main dining room"). For a venue centered around a performance, this layout makes zero sense: You only see the backs and profiles of the band, and the tables are positioned so that one person literally has their back to the stage the entire night. It felt like a second-class experience that completely missed the mark on value. Seeing three empty tables with proper views, we asked the hostess if we could move. We were told no because they were "completely booked and reserved for VIPs." Some time later, a manager came by to say that one of the VIPs hadn't showed up so a table was now available (the VIP by the way was an off-duty worker there). We didn't end up moving; the whole interaction left us with really mixed, sour feelings. It's incredibly frustrating to know regular paying customers who book ahead are treated as second-tier while prime tables sit empty for no-show "VIPs." Valet is $15 by the way. Due to the subpar experience and being stuck in a corner, I just couldn't in good conscience order the way I typically do, which usually includes multiple appetizers, several pasta and main dishes, dessert, and a great bottle of wine or champagne. Instead, we heavily scaled back our meal. As for what we did try, the kitchen has real highlights but a few misses. We started with the Peruvian scallops (5 to an order), served cold, ceviche-style, which had good flavor. For mains, the lobster tagliatelle was excellent. However, the mushroom linguini fell short; the pasta was far too tough and needed a couple more minutes of cooking, and it was oversaturated with a mornay sauce that completely overpowered the dish. To drink, the rosé was crisp and fresh. Overall, while some of the food is excellent, the poor floor layout and frustrating seating policies made this an extremely disappointing experience that wasn't worth the premium price.

You can't really go wrong with a the kale version of a house salad however there are plenty of other options you could order Scallop Crudo: 5/5 - So incredibly blown away by this? I don't think I've scallop this good in years. Melts in your mouth, the sauce is light but perfectly pairs with the fish. I could not get over this one Gambas Al Ajillo: 5/5 - If I could lick the plate clean publicly and without discrimination I would've. The sauce reminded me of some of the best pasta ive ever had. The shrimp was big and well marinated, oh what fun this one was! It was a crime this didn't have more bread to soak it in. I'm not just leaving money on the table, I'm leaving bliss. Potatoes: 5/5 - These were really good! I loved the heat this had and the sauce to go with it. The seasoning great, the skin was crispy but still a soft moist potato inside. These were great to share. Paella Mariscos - 4.5/5 - After everything we had this was a fairly good portion for 3 people even though it says it serves 2 (I still stand by the 2 serving if you don't have much tapas). With that said I think this was a little more on the simpler side when it came to flavor. You could tell it wasn't trying to do too much while still letting you know she's the star of the show. There was a good amount of seafood all of which was cooked really well. The rice was perfect and the sauce ratio was great as well. I had some the next day and it was even better. I really think those scallops just stayed in my mind the whole night. Bread Pudding - 4/5 - I really appreciated the creativity behind reinventing the bread pudding! It was like a cinnamon roll esc type which was a fun but not blow me out of the water dessert. With that said everything on there looked so good so my eye is on the key lime next. Wine: The Albarino was great! I've never heard of it but was a fan favorite. Paired great with all the food. For 3 the total came out to $280 (with tip) which wasn't that bad. Service: 5/5 I forgot our servers name but he was so sweet! He gave us his recs, checked in on us frequently and was accommodating. I also feel like he was serving a lot of tables so his service was stellar! Ambiance: 5/5 The place is tinnyyy but man I am obsessed with the interior. Its swanky without it being pretentious. Intimate feeling but can feel the atmosphere. Not sure what the noise level was like inside, we were outside (two tables on the sidewalk), but it seems like it could get a little loud. Parking: N/A - Its a prime spot on ventura, only metered so...can't really knock the place off that. Really excited to come back here! Hopefully in the near future!
