Smashin indeed! One single, one double, and one fry. Total came out to ~$30. Delicious, great service, food came out quickly! They are working out the details with the menu, pricing, and various other things as they transition to the brick and mortar from the pop up experience but I'm excited for a tasty smash burger nearby! Parking is limited but not a problem in the evening when we went, there are 5-7 tables--some 4 person tables and some 2 person tables. Bathroom was clean and well stocked.

Tried Smashin Sam's for the first time and it did not disappoint! Had the double combo and it was Delicious! Crispy edges, cheese was perfectly melted, and the quality of meat was great! The fries also complimented the burger. The service was outstanding, the owner of the store made sure we got what we needed. The restaurant itself is small but very clean. If you're looking for a great burger and service, I highly recommend Smashin Sam's.

One of the best burger spots in LA These guys went from a pop up in Noho to a store in Van nuys. Great burgers. Highly recommend the choppy Joe. Meat and cheese chopped up with yellow peppers for a little kick. Lots of parking spots available in the plaza. Customer service is friendly.

Weekends will be busy and there will be a wait for a table, but I ventured in with some friends on a Wednesday, and we were quickly seated. On this occasion, our server took a fairly long time to come to our table, and was very low energy. One got the sense that she may have been preoccupied with some things, but she was still professional and did everything that needed to be done, so let's just chalk up the lack of enthusiasm to a Wednesday blues. I ordered the Hash Benedict, which replaces the traditional Canadian bacon with Corned Beef Hash but otherwise has all the usual Benedict elements. The eggs were poached nicely, with just the right amount of "runniness" to them, and the Hollandaise sauce had a pleasingly acidic bite and an enjoyably light consistency. The corned beef hash, however, was unmemorable. Not much flavor and perhaps a bit too heavy for adding so little taste to the dish. One friend ordered the Fort Lox, which is the Nook's take on the Jewish deli staple, Lox, Eggs and Onions. It was a generous portion, expertly scrambled, and served with properly browned breakfast potatoes. He ate every bite, and enjoyed it. His wife ordered the Big Mamma Omelette: eggs whites folded over spinach, veggie sausage, garlic, jalapenos and mushrooms, then topped with melted mozzarella. This was also a very generous portion, again served with nicely browned potatoes. Lots of ingredients, lots of flavor, and lots of satisfaction. All in all, this was a good, mid-week breakfast, though I'd not order the hash again (that's a personal thing), and I hope our server finds some bliss in the coming days.

I know, so specific. But I was HANGRY, pretty much murderous, after getting stuck from the Getty onward, kicking myself for not having stopped around Sawtelle or Westwood to eat. I got the blue cheese burger, husband got the regular sized chili fries (great portion, the large looks like it can feed two people) and we shared onion rings. And the toddler got the crispy chicken bites with sweet potato fries kids meal. All satisfied. Hanger abated. Now we can get on our merry way on up the 101. Server was nice, and grabbed me some ranch upon asking. Ambience is great, too: lots of seating. You can either sit inside, or an outer covered patio area, or an outdoor area where you're basically in the parking lot but surrounded by tall shrubbery and bistro lights with heat lamps. Perfect for our kid who likes to randomly scream his head off. Thanks, to the Valley location of the Stand for existing, and for staving off our hanger.

It was full and the whole parking situation with the metered is a cluster fuck. Not part of the restaurant....lol... Found street parking along Moorpark which was only a little walk to the restaurant. There was a band setting up when we arrived which could also be the reason for a full parking lot. I overheard someone saying that certain days they have live music which is perfect as it's starting to heat up. Nice dining experience with live music. We ended up sitting inside for the ac which I would have love to be outside but it was fine. Breakfast had ended but the lunch menu was quite good. I've alway ordered at the counter each visit which I'm not even sure they have waitress service with order. After ordering, a number is give where it's placed on the table. As there was a couple of us, a few dishes was had. I alway go for the mimosas deal, 3 for the price of 2. Food, the Cobb salad which I forgot to add protein to it but it was still decent. That came with their vinaigrette dressing but a side of ranch was also asked for. The Brie and turkey sandwich with a side of the macaroni salad. Sandwiches were quite tasty with the toasted bread and how everything melted together. The burger which was pretty big in size. Tasty from what I was informed and served with a side of fries. Lastly, the avocado toast with tomatoes. Simple and cheerful. Plus you need an extra side order of streak fries with ranch. Both ketchup and their avocado dip was brought out as well. Food was good, the service was great. Both with the gal at the register and the waitress bringing out the food. It's pet friendly which is also nice to have the little pup with us. Forgot, they also have a nice display case of sweets on hand. And cookies that were massive. Clearly one was had before the meal. Sweets beforehand is always a good idea. Great service, nice drink, live music and a lovely crowd. What a nice way to enjoy lunch on a Tuesday afternoon.

She also had an ugly attitude. Price - 2/10 Honestly for pub food, it's way too overpriced. You're paying West Hollywood prices in the valley, probably more. I hate that each sandwich/burger is $15+ à la carte. Ridiculous! Cocktails - 2/10 Ordered an old fashioned multiple times & each time it was too heavy on the bitters. Gross! There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.
