I love Zankou. I have been to a few locations but this is my favorite place. I usually get the half chicken entree. I love pita and hummus. What I like the most is their garlic spread. Went to Zankou Chicken tonight and it was pretty packed between 7-9pm, so it did take a while to get our food. You could tell they were busy, though, so it wasn't really surprising. We found some seating outside while we waited. Once we got our food, it was honestly worth the wait. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the garlic sauce and hummus never misses. Definitely expect a bit of a wait if you go during peak hours, but still one of our go-to spots! read more

Is it me or are the portions getting smaller? I remember loving to go to Zankou and when a new location popped up it was definitely an option to note if and when I am in that area. Burbank location has been my local spot but as the times passed I found myself visiting less frequently. It may be 5 years has passed since my last visit to this location. On a super hot day, I decided to have a Vancouver chicken sandwich rather than wait for a long delay. I decided to call in advance. The phone happened to be answered by Jocelyn, who apparently was the manager on duty. They asked when I was connected. Could they put me on hold? They kept me on hold for about 15 minutes by this time I arrived at the location. I stood in line and I watched Jocelyn the manager disconnect my call when I asked her did she just disconnect my call she became very flustered. The chicken of my childhood! Used to eat Zankou when I lived in LA. Shout out to Zankou for their tabbouleh and garlic spread. This bright, lemony, bulgur salad is so refreshing and just compliments the chicken so well. Spread a little garlic love on the pita and perfection. However, I had neither one of those things during my meal here. On this day, we made about stopped at the Burbank location. I was tempted to order a chicken plate but I kept it light with the bowl. My side order got switched with my coworker, so I had the cabbage instead. They went a little heavy on the hummus but then again, it was still tasty. read more

A frequent the Burbank location often last night I came in on a Friday, September 19, 2026 and I had to wait for about 30 minutes to get my food. It was very busy which I didn't mind but I was sitting there on the bench waiting for my food and one of the workers named Drew was filling the orders and the whole time he was doing it he was cussing. He was saying derogatory comments about the customers if they asked for anything extra .I think he's a manager because he wears a black shirt. I feel that Drew was not properly trained or willing to handle the stress of a busy restaurant.Jared is very friendly and nice. I never heard him do that but I think they need to see how unprofessional that is for their establishment and it's bad for business. read more

I love zankou but I tried a salad from here and was kind of disappointed. There was more tomatoes than lettuce, it's hard to tell from the menu what exactly is in the salad but it was a huge heaping pile of tomatoes. So just a heads up on that. I scooped as much as I could out and there was a mountain of tomatoes on my tray lol. Maybe it's just me but not my thing. The dressing was pretty hummusy too. Not my fave. Been to a few Zankou's throughout the years and up until today the Hollywood and Pasadena stores were the best while the montebello one is the worst. But the Burbank store has been the best 2 days in a row. The girls at counter were very friendly and knowledgeable. Also, this store is beautiful like none of the others I've been too. But the true star of the show is the whole roasted chicken. I've always been a fan but today and yesterday it was perfection. I had never had their spicy harissa sauce and it's for sure a winner. The food is always good (I usually get the lentil soup, which is SO delicious) and all the staff is friendly and helpful and work speedily during the lunch rush. The outdoor dining is really nice and lots of shade. Last time I'm ordering from here. Once I found a piece of chicken in my tabbouleh. Called just to bring them awareness, didn't ask for compensation. It's all going to end up in the same place, after all. Right? That's what they say. Then in February the tabbouleh didn't have wheat (boulghour) I called to let them know again bringing awareness but this time they offered to refund the cost, it never happened, even after a follow up call.
