The phone happened to be answered by Jocelyn, who apparently was the manager on duty. They asked when I was connected. Could they put me on hold? Went to Zankou Chicken tonight and it was pretty packed between 7-9pm, so it did take a while to get our food. You could tell they were busy, though, so it wasn't really surprising. We found some seating outside while we waited. Once we got our food, it was honestly worth the wait. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the garlic sauce and hummus never misses. Definitely expect a bit of a wait if you go during peak hours, but still one of our go-to spots! read more

Is it me or are the portions getting smaller? I remember loving to go to Zankou and when a new location popped up it was definitely an option to note if and when I am in that area. Burbank location has been my local spot but as the times passed I found myself visiting less frequently. It may be 5 years has passed since my last visit to this location. While in the area I thought it would be great to grab a meal to go. Although everything was just as I remembered, the portion seemed lacking. The chicken of my childhood! Used to eat Zankou when I lived in LA. Shout out to Zankou for their tabbouleh and garlic spread. This bright, lemony, bulgur salad is so refreshing and just compliments the chicken so well. Spread a little garlic love on the pita and perfection. However, I had neither one of those things during my meal here. On this day, we made about stopped at the Burbank location. I was tempted to order a chicken plate but I kept it light with the bowl. The food is always good (I usually get the lentil soup, which is SO delicious) and all the staff is friendly and helpful and work speedily during the lunch rush. The outdoor dining is really nice and lots of shade. But the Burbank store has been the best 2 days in a row. The girls at counter were very friendly and knowledgeable. Also, this store is beautiful like none of the others I've been too. But the true star of the show is the whole roasted chicken. I've always been a fan but today and yesterday it was perfection. I had never had their spicy harissa sauce and it's for sure a winner. There was more tomatoes than lettuce, it's hard to tell from the menu what exactly is in the salad but it was a huge heaping pile of tomatoes. So just a heads up on that. Last time I'm ordering from here. Once I found a piece of chicken in my tabbouleh. Called just to bring them awareness, didn't ask for compensation. It's all going to end up in the same place, after all. Right? That's what they say. Then in February the tabbouleh didn't have wheat (boulghour) I called to let them know again bringing awareness but this time they offered to refund the cost, it never happened, even after a follow up call.
