The amount of turkey versus other stuff.
    Brenda A.

The food here is pretty good for a little bagel shop deli. The bagel sandwich I got was packed full of veggies and a bit of turkey too. It's a bit on the expensive side I ordered just a turkey gruyere sandwich on jalapeno everything bagel and it's was $17.88 out the door. The service is a bit sketch, the first time I wanted to try it I went to the register and three staff were debating a $100 they received. I patiently waited and eventually they all just walked away never saying a word to me. This was after spending a good five minutes letting them sort it out. So I walked out not having ordered anything. Today was a bit better I was helped right away by someone and I'm glad I gave them another chance. It's a sidewalk deli so you're on Alameda it's kind of loud but if you have a hankering for a bagel sandwich and are in the area they are good.

Finally made my visit to Hank's and it did not disappoint. My father described it correctly: the bagels are like a legit French baguette: harder on the outside and soft in the inside. Deeelicious sandwiches. I was recommended the rosemary sea salt, and man, getting some odd bites of salt was so nice! Tried the pizza bagel too. Reminding me of my childhood days when that was quite popular... we got number 3 and 6 and would come back again. Also bought a plain smear. It's not a big place. No seats inside, just a few outside. Not much room to move around. Be prepared to wait unless you get there early!

Let me tell you! These were by far some of the best bagels I've had. I grew up in LA and am so proud that a bagel renaissance is occurring on the west coast, especially in LA. I was fortunate enough to grow up eating great bagels and these are so far my favorite. Now to the bagels. They had a crisp crust with a slight chew, soft crumb and mild sourdough tang. Seeding was generous and flavor was well developed. Great micro-blistering on the crust. The service was also excellent. Quick ordering and quick delivery. Amazing customer service. A must stop for locals and travelers alike.

I love a good bagel for breakfast & that's what Hank's offered! It was toasted to perfection & more than enough cream cheese!! Shoutout to the ladies who worked the food truck at WB!!

4* Value 3.5* Food 5* Service 4* Ambiance As advertised, the service is friendly, making our morning meal delightful. Limited seating outside with no available space to dine inside, this small bagel and sandwich place is best for a pick-up and go, as seating is limited. The coffee is good, but it is not made to order. The sourdough taste shines through in the bagels. Our favorite bagel here is the everything bagel; rosemary, poppyseeds, onion, and garlic topings really enhance the flavor of our sandwiches. We ordered the turkey sausage and bacon sandwiches; both were flavorful, and the portions were generous. The turkey sausage was perhaps the largest I have ever had, and it was delicious. A little difficult to bite into our sandwiches, as the fillings fall out easily, which could be due to the texture of the bagel itself. I would like to try a basic bagel and cream cheese here to get a better insight into these crafted sourdough bagels.

Was heading to Burbank airport and wanted to grab something quick on the way. Hank's Bagels popped up and they had online ordering so we decided to give it a try. We're so glad we placed our order online because the line was out the door when we got there on a Sunday afternoon. I did a build-your-own bagels with an onion bagel, scallion spread, adding capers. The #3 is actually similar but is loaded with a ton more toppings (like sprouts, tomatoes, dill, etc.). My order was really good but I think I'll try the preset next time. The scallion spread is really creamy and yummy and works well with the lox and capers. My husband order the #2 (fried egg, braised greens, Gruyère, peppers, and aioli) and loved it! The peppers caught his eye since he usually likes things with a little kick. We were hesitant because of the braised greens, but it actually worked really well. It was basically savory breakfast sandwich in bagel form. Would recommend adding a protein next time to make it a more complete meal. This sandwich is really messy though! Come prepared with napkins.

I was driving through LA and craving a BEC. Luckily, Yelp recommended this spot and it did not disappoint. Ordered online and super easy to pick up. The rosemary sea salt bagel HIT DIFFERENT. I've never seen any bagel spot with that type of bagel. So good. Maple glaze bacon was a nice touch too. Definitely will be back next time I'm in LA

I ordered a pickup through Hank's online system and it was super easy. The order said it would be ready in about 15-20 minutes, which was perfect because that's about how long it took me to get there. Parking was a little tricky at first, but if you go around the back on a side street, you can find a spot pretty easily. The place itself is super cute and very pickup-friendly. There's a clear spot to check in and let them know you're there for a pickup order. I told them my name and my order was ready to go. When I got home, I was sooo excited. I ordered the #1 and added onion absolutely delicious. The bacon had just the right amount of heat, the bagel was perfectly soft, and the aïoli tied everything together beautifully. I'll definitely be back, and my sister will be coming here even more often since she lives nearby.

I stopped by Hank's for a bagel and coffee. The rosemary sea salt bagel did not disappoint! They did pile on the cream cheese just a bit too much--enough for two full bagels. I had to wipe some off! Nevertheless, the bagel and cream cheese was delicious and filling. The coffee was perfectly brewed. Service was fast and friendly! I will definitely be coming back to try a sandwich for lunch.

First time here & I'll definitely be back. I got the #3 Nova Lox the works on an everything bagel. It was LOADED and sooo delish. Nice staff and quick service. It's street parking only which can be a pain in the area but worth it. There's a few tables outside to sit at and a door for pickup orders.

    Onion bagel & cream cheese

If you're looking for a "bagel" made for the Iron Jawed community, that is immune to all bread knives, then look no further. Any attempt to cut (as pictured) or apply any bite pressure will result in a cream cheese blast radius of 4 quarts of cream cheese covering your plate, hands or entire face. This should only be consumed in the privacy of your own home, alone. Make sure you're not even eating it in front of your partner if you have one-- don't want to give them the ick. Just grab some bagels & Philly cream cheese from the grocery store.

    #1 BEC
    Noah L.

Read some reviews that told me to go with a #1, BEC on a Rosemary Salt bagel and add avocado. I'd like to thank those fellow Yelpers. You did not disappoint me! And I was worried because everything looked really great. The spicy maple-glazed bacon puts this one over the top. I'd recommend extra napkins and eating there! I'll be back.

    Lena C.

I love these bagels! Easily my favorite place to get a bagel sandwich and they never disappoint. I recommend ordering ahead of time since they do take a while. They have lots of options in terms of bagels and spreads, but my favorite is their bagel sandwiches. I recommend ordering the Number 4 or the Lox one. Service is quick and they are timely with pickup times.

Will they scramble an egg so the yolk isn't separate/runny?

I've been here a few times and I haven't had a runny yolk yet. I didn't think much of it at the time, maybe I just got a slightly over cooked egg? Either way, based on my experience I think it's safe to say they can accommodate a request for a… Read more

    Are all the bagels vegan?

Most, but not all of them. The couple of times I have been here staff confidently have been able to tell me which are and are not.

    Any gluten free options?

No they don't have any gluten free bagels but they do have salads, drinks, and other items that are gluten free

What is their angry cream cheese spread?

Sweet and spicy (honey and habanero)

    Do you have bagel chips?

Yes! Sometimes they do :) You can always check their online ordering menu to see when it's available.

Are the bagels made with eggs?

No. The only bagel made with eggs is the actual "egg bagel", which is a special only. Not part of the regular lineup.

Can you call orders for pick up?

Only during the week. They don't answer phones on the weekends because it's insanity. If you catch them in a slow period on weekends they'll take your phone order. Doesnt hurt to call and try!

    Do they have bialeys?

    Yes

Is this a good place to grab a bite to eat and work on your laptop?

When the weather is nice they have a great patio area thats very quiet and shaded. I worked there last week for 2 hours.

The beet salad was fresh, balanced, and just WOW. We also ordered the Peri Peri chicken and omg -- the sauce was delicious and the chicken itself was juicy and flavorful. I do wish I ordered the bone-in version instead of the 2 breast chicken. The flavor was there, but I personally felt like the chicken was a little over-charred. I almost returned it, but since we were both hungry, we still ate it. Even then, I'd still come back and try their other dishes or maybe the bone-in Peri Peri next time because the sauce alone was so good. The only side that didn't fully match my taste was the mashed potatoes. I honestly wish I ordered another veggie instead because it didn't pair as well with the Peri Peri for me. But let me tell you about the drinks... the craft soda was AMAZING. Super refreshing and honestly one of the best drinks I've had in a while. And shoutout to our server -- absolutely fantastic service. He knew the menu so well, gave great recommendations, and made the whole dining experience even better. They have a very extensive menu here. There's a parking lot in the back and I also noticed a sign that said Complimentary Valet but there wasn't anyone at the stand. We walked in to a completely empty restaurant and saw one server (Denise) taking another table's order outside. I think she was the only employee on duty and doing everything by herself. After about 7 minutes, she approached us and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, and we said outside. Then she asked us if we preferred the smoking or non-smoking patio, and we chose non-smoking. I didn't even know this was an option nowadays, I thought smoking at restaurants wasn't allowed anymore. Apparently they also have hookah available every day starting at 5pm, both inside and outside the restaurant. I was really looking forward to trying their frittata but didn't know that breakfast was only until 3pm. Unfortunately I couldn't order it since we got here around 4pm. We stayed with our waters and I got a bowl of their Clam Chowder soup that came with 2 bulky and FRESH pieces of warm Focaccia bread. I also ordered a Chicken Pesto Panini which came with Grilled Chicken Breast, Basil Pesto Aioli, Tomato, Mozzarella, Fresh Basil, Roasted Peppers and Arugula on toasted Ciabatta Bread. I chose Fruit as my side. The ingredients were all fresh, but unfortunately the bread was toasted way more than my liking and the sandwich was really dry overall. There wasn't enough pesto and the chicken was a bit overcooked. I felt like I was hurting my tooth as I ate it. On the other hand, my soup absolutely stole the show. It was an outstanding bowl of Clam Chowder that really hit the spot after not having it for several years. It was piping hot, and again, very fresh. So flavorful and enjoyable. I savored every spoonful! My son ordered the French Turkey Sandwich that came with Roasted Turkey with Swiss Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Pickles, Lettuce, Red Onions, Garlic Aioli on Sourdough Bread. He loved his sandwich and ate every crumb off his plate. I also had some of his sandwich and it was really good, way better than mine. Also nice portion for the price. He got his with a side salad that had arugula, tomatoes, red onion and lemon vinaigrette. After seating us and taking our order, Denise disappeared and Bryce took over. He was an excellent server and provided great customer service. I told him about my issues with my sandwich and he apologized and brought me some extra pesto aioli on the side. The place is very clean and everything looks very new and well-kept. Bryce mentioned they've been around for about 10 years but did an extensive remodel during COVID. I'd also like to mention that the tap water tasted so good. No nasty aftertaste like some other restaurants. Even their glasses were beautiful. Thank you management, Bryce and The Corner. We will be back another time to try the same sandwich and see if there's any improvement. We will also try more things, including the Frittata. Both restrooms were fully stocked and super clean!!

One over-worked employee took our order, brought out the food, and cleaned the tables. We toast her for the effort. I got the Belgian waffle, which says it comes with fruit and syrup. When it arrived, it was also covered with powdered sugar and an overly generous amount of whipped cream. (Way more than in the photo on Yelp, which I'm seeing now) Had the waffle description mentioned whipped cream or powdered sugar, I wouldn't have ordered it. This was a massive cookie, essentially...I ate what I could. (Isn't it annoying when restaurants have ingredients or items NOT listed in the description that show up?) My fellow diner had a tuna sando which he said was "fine". No sides are included with sandwiches (they cost extra - take note). Iced tea was delicious but a tad expensive at $5. There are multiple seating areas. We were towards the back as the front and outdoor were full. This back area sure was lived-in: 3 tables of people with plugged in computers there for the long haul, including 1 guy who seemingly fell asleep in the booth seating against the wall? He eventually woke up and even if he was removed, he returned and was no worse for wear. Maybe that's the designated "stay for the day area" as long as you order stuff from time to time. When we left an hour later, the front seating area was completely empty! Maybe lunch isn't too busy? Calidum has a full menu, so I'd be up for trying something else, but in no rush to return.
