Sorry forgot to take pictures of our food. We always start with some beef empanadas. This is what we ordered: La Bandeja Paisa, carne asada plate, and pork chop plate. All delicious! The waitress was nice and attentive. Place started off empty, but as always people filled up the place shortly after.

I got this through a food delivery service back in January. It was very filling, I almost didn't finish it. The portion size was perfect. I loved the amount of protein that was included and it was the first time I tried bandeja paisa. The beans were soft. Eggs were cooked perfectly. The steak was chewy in a good way. It was quaint on the inside based on photos online. I loved the hanged frames displayed on the walls.

Omg the best.!!!!!! Service is so great. I had to server of. She has a pink hair. She's so nice and so sweet, very helpful in regards to like choosing the right type of Food that I want. Such a chill vibe playing the salsa hits. The empanadas were so good. I ordered two dozen more to take home.

Nice little restaurant with a Colombian ambiance. The taco combo and the tortillas chips were solid, however the spinach empanada stole the show with its crunchy exterior and soft delicious interior. I wish I ordered more than one. There's a small parking lot in the back housing about 4 cars, other than that good luck with street parking. Would recommend and will come back again!

Colombian Hot Chocolate

We stopped here on our way out of SoCal before we headed to the airport. There are not that many Colombian restaurants in NorCal, so when we are in SoCal we try to go to a Colombian restaurant. It was a nice day so we sat outside (we also had our pupper, so outside was a must). The restaurant itself is small and cozy. Outside there were about 10 tables. The service was quick, we ordered Colombian hot chocolates, but it did not come with the queso (cheese), so we had to ask for it. We were charged for each order. Normally, the queso comes with the hot chocolate, but I digress. The food was good, tasty, and authentic. It is definitely a place we would recommend trying out at least once.

I had two hours to kill and randomly stumbled in here right when they opened (they open at 9AM)…read more Serving authentic Colombian comfort food, breakfast, empanadas, and traditional pastries, this casual, cozy, and latino-owned restaurant is a pleasant surprise tucked neatly inside a valley strip mall. But don't let that deter you. Step inside and you'll be greeted with lovely service, good coffee, and Colombian favorites like arepas, buñuelos, empanadas, and Bandeja Paisa. I wasn't very hungry, but after a peek at their fresh baked goods behind the case, I quickly found a seat for myself where I could watch the tennis match on one of many TVs on the wall. Since I'm a sucker for guava, I ordered a bocadillo. It was layered with light cheese and a guava paste that wasn't overly sweet. There was also fresh guava juice and let's not forget the Colombian coffee that had some perk to it. The guava bocadilla had a made-from-scratch flavor, and so did the empanadas de carne. They were delicious and filling. The salsa was more liquid-like, but I couldn't slather enough of it on to my empanada de carne. It was so good, I ordered seconds despite my belly already feeling full. Locals slowly trickled in and before I knew it, the place was full. Every meal that came out - whether it was the banana leaf wrapped tamales that could feed a giant, or the three tier Bandeja Paisa and Montañera platters with arepas on top, each dish looked amazing. So did their lunch menu, which is served weekdays from 11am to 3pm for $14.99 and comes with soup and an entree. There's a quaint gift shop next door where you can buy nicknacks and small Colombian items. As a bookworm and fan of a good story, it was interesting to realize that this quaint little restaurant was named after the fictional town made famous by the Colombian author, Gabriel García Márquez's novel, "One Hundred Years of Solitude". As I sipped on my coffee, I was given time to reflect on my day and enjoyed a sense of solitude at my own table for one.

Well finally we were in the area for a game and got to stop by! Firstly, the space wasn't the fanciest and the service wasn't very welcoming at all in fact the server seemed super grumpy which was surprising since we were the only customers there. A warm welcome or hello would have made us feel more comfortable. Anyway we sat ourselves because there was a sign that M-F you seat yourselves and order from QR code. We started to but the. The server removed the sign and brought us menus. Anyway they have a nice happy hour which allowed us to sample some yummy items that are hard to make or find. Husband ordered a bacalaito (a fish fritter looks like a tostada) and pastelillos (puerto Rican version of empanadas) de pollo and carne. All so delish! Although if you're used to bacalito from the island, this one was a little thicker and different but still good. For entrees we ordered the pollo guisao (chicken stew) and pernil plates. Our favorite part was the arroz con gandules. One bite took us instantly back to the island to my mother in laws house. It was a little more oily than it should be but the flavor was on point. Husband liked his pernil but we wouldn't order the chicken dish again. Anyway by the end of our meal the awkwardness with our server eased up and he actually smiled and joked with us (in his own grumpy way) by the end. They seemed to have consistent to go orders by regular customers which is def a good sign. Also saw the server cleaning front windows and tables which is important to me because it shows that they care and the kind of place I'd return to!

We drove an hour to get here and arrived right when they opened. The gentleman at the counter greeted us warmly and asked if we'd ever had Puerto Rican food before. We told him about our trip and how much we'd loved the food, and from there, he proceeded to walk us through every single item on the menu--including the drinks and desserts. He was incredibly welcoming and clearly proud of the food they serve. After plenty of deliberation, we finally placed our orders. We started with the bacalaitos--a thin, crispy cod fritter served with garlic sauce. A tad greasy, yes, but what a treat! Then came what we had driven an hour for: the mofongo. Between the three of us, we ordered the pernil (slow-roasted pork shoulder), the churrasco with chimichurri, and the shrimp with garlic sauce. These are definitely not light meals, but WOW. The flavors were impeccable--rich, garlicky, savory, and incredibly satisfying. It immediately brought back memories of the food we loved so much in Puerto Rico. Needless to say, we found our mofongo spot. And yes, we will absolutely make the trek again.

I wasn't expecting there to be so many different empanadas to choose from, so I took a while deciding. He was really patient, answered all my questions, explained the different options, and gave me some great recommendations. I ended up getting the Beef, Chili Carne, Chicken, Spicy Potato, Santa Fe Chicken, and Spinach & Cheese empanadas. They were all really good, and I liked that they let me choose from three different sauces/salsas to go with them. Everything came out quickly and was packaged really well. They even included a list showing which empanada was which, which I really appreciated since they all looked pretty similar once they were in the box. I actually came for the empanadas, but they also had fresh pasta and decided to give it a try. I'm really glad I did because it was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was delicious, and honestly I'd come back just for the pasta. There are still a bunch of things on the menu I want to try, especially the sweet empanadas, so I'm already looking forward to my next visit. This place is interesting because it does Mexican faves like tacos and burritos and some Peruvian classics like lomo saltado. When we saw that was on the menu, we had to get it. They give a generous portion and the flavor is great. The meat was tender and the sauces take everything to the next level. I am a sucker for a good lomo saltado, and they delivered! We'll be back! I'm glad I only ordered one Vampire taco at the time. I had the vampire taco with saltado, and ended up order a few other tacos to try later on the plane. Overall, the portions were generous, especially the amount of steak and onions in the saltado. I really liked the handmade tortillas, and the green sauce was delicious. The red sauce, on the other hand, tasted a little too sour for my liking. My main feedback is that the food was a bit saltier than I prefer, both the saltado and some of the tacos. I think pairing the saltado with rice next time might help balance out the flavors. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating, and the service was fast and easy. Overall, I had a good experience, even though the food was saltier than my liking, I'd be open to coming back and trying some of their other menu items next time.

So it's with a sad heart that I write this mediocre review. My Mom and I each got their Arepa Rellena and found them to be kinda.... blah. Not bad, just bland. Each was served with a side of salsa that looked a lot like pico de gallo and another that was guacamole. The salsas were amazing!! Both had a spicey punch and the guacamole was good enough that I would have drunk it straight if I'd had a cup or two. So it was a little frustrating to look at this spectacular salsa and realize that without it the arepa was more task than joy. Why not serve the arepa with the salsa already mixed in? Or marinate the meat in the salsa? And each arepa was over $10. It was packed generously and I was more full than I expected once I was done, but I couldn't help thinking that for that price I could have had 6 al pastor street tacos and been far more full and FAR more satisfied. Maybe their Bulldogs, Columbian hotdogs, would have blown my mind but after a first impression like this, it's going to be a long time before I ever find out.

Others did start to arrive during our meal, so the atmosphere livened up a bit as the energy increased. My wife made an "entree" out of 2 starters: Shrimp Scampi and Roasted Mushrooms. Both came piping hot, sizzling in skillets with a good bit of butter, garlic and white wine in each. The shrimp were medium sized, which made them very tender, and they really held onto the pleasingly powerful garlic butter they were bathed in. The same was true of the mushrooms, prepared almost the same, with perhaps a bit less garlic. These were fairly ordinary button mushrooms, cooked whole, but cooked so well that their lack of fanciness didn't matter at all. For myself, I ordered the Steak Milanesa Sandwich, served on their crispy Argentine bread with tomatoes and mayo, plus a liberal dressing of spicy chimichurri that I added myself. It was a good sandwich, but the beef was sliced a bit too thin, becoming tougher than usual during the frying process. It wasn't in any way bad, but I've had it better here at other times. The accompanying French Fries were hot, crisp, salty and just right. The portion (sandwich and fries) is very generous, and quite filling.
