Korean Style Whole Chicken with Fries
    Sung H.

This place is pretty good for late night snack and drinks. Variety of food and taste decent. Portions are kinda small but the price is decent. You get what you pay for. I always go for fried wings or Korean style whole chicken. Their tteokbokki is a bit sweet but that's how tteokbokki supposed to be. Their pastas are pretty good as well. Service is prompt and good. A Typical Korean drinking place tbh - Casual ambiance and not too loud music. They do last call about an hour before the closing hour so be aware.

this restraunt sucks they have a specific schuelde on their hours and it's a saturday night and it's barely 12 and they state the kitchen is closed. BAD SERVICE. LIES. made us park and for this bad experience do not come here!!!

Maybe they're better for drink. Nice staff and a pleasant layout, Kitchen Sooda is where basic recipes go to die. Shrimp Tacos - there's better tacos everywhere in LA but they put it on the menu. Bland / missed opportunity to earn that fusion title. Cabanara - flavorful but definitely not cabanara Korean Style Spicy Chicken - seasoned and tossed in some gochucjang ‍. Honestly I ordered this because I saw it online so much but wrapping cheers around chicken paired with tater tots is a miss for me

HH oysters?? Yes please! Kitchen Sooda has literally everything from fresh oysters, cajun style seafood boils, pastas, chickens, to Korean bar food What I've tried here so far: - Elote - Clam soup - Jambalaya pasta - Korean style chicken wings - Oysters on the half shell - Mentaiko (pollock roe) pasta - Cheese buldak (spicy chicken) - Cajun style seafood boil - Spicy stir fry baby octopus and pork belly w/ rice Every dish is so full of flavor and the place is perfect for weekend night outs. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is a plus and they also do a fine job packing these for delivery.

This place accepts reservations, which was cool since we were unsure whether it would be busy on a Friday night. Since they have outdoor seating, it felt relatively safe eating in person. The food was pretty good, but we had problems with our digestion (wasn't quite sure which dish((es?) caused it). The menu selection is very random, but it could be good for situations when people in the same group want to eat separate things. The quality and taste of the strange variety of food was not disappointing. My group and I really liked the mentaiko pasta out of everything we ordered and would totally recommend it if you don't know what to order. Their soy garlic chicken was also tasty but it is on the sweeter side, so maybe ordering it with fries or another savory dish would give your meal a better balance. We also tried their cheese buldak and the squid/pork belly dish. I would get everything again except the squid/pork belly just because it's a dish that has pretty basic flavors and is easily accessible to Korean households. Maybe it was this dish that caused our stomach problems... But, the food came out really fast, which was a big plus since we were very hungry. One thing that keeps me from going back is the stomach problems we had after, other than that, maybe we'll give it another try!

I love the variety at Kitchen Sooda! I've had some of the traditional Korean bar food, American bar food, pastas and seafood boil, and it's all really good! If you're craving something, they have it--except for dessert, which is fine because you can stop by next door to Caffe Concerto for a cake or something afterwards. I also like the vibes--there's outdoor seating, tv's, not overly loud music, decent service, great for large groups, and relatively good for kids. My favorite dishes are -Mentaiko pasta: a bit creamy, a bit salty, and a bit garlicky. I get this for my toddler and she'll eat it all including the fresh shrimp. I prefer this over the uni pasta. I also love this to dip the spicy chicken in the sauce instead of the cheese. -Spicy chicken with tater tots and cheese: if you're craving something that's got a kick, get x-hot!! The chicken is full of flavor without the chili pepper feel, and the spice tamed by the melty cheese. -Fried gizzard: I love anything with a puffy, seasoned batter. The gizzards are also really tender. -Seafood boil: just like Boiling Crab style and they give you gloves so you can jump between peeling seafood to eating pasta and gizzards. I get all seasoning mixed together at the hot spice level but I wish it was spicier. I probably come once a month and never have a problem with getting a table or making reservations.

It's their HAPPY HOUR OYSTERS that got me! (5pm-8pm) We came here with a party of 6 and killed +5 dozen oysters! They have a variety of other items - like traditional korean food, korean bar food and some American food

Chicken Wings with sweet & spicy and honey garlic sauce: These crunchy fried drumettes were okay but not standout or worth the price. Steak Ssäm: We enjoyed the unique combination of flavors here with steak, shiso, pickled daikon, jalapeño, lettuce and rice. Choco Pot De Creme: a nice, rich chocolate pudding with whipped cream and crunchy flakes. Yuzu Medicina and Ichigo-Rita: decently strong fruity cocktails which we both enjoyed. Parking: There was an unstaffed, paid parking lot across the street.

Food wasn't good. Nothing stood out to me except for the salad. For starters we were suppose to have two different salads but without apologies a waitress simply brought out a small bowl of cucumber slices stating they ran out of the other salad. No comp or no discussion on an alternative where I was charged full prefix price. It was disappointing since I wanted to try their salads and that was the best part of their entire prefix and only dish we actually finished. For Steak and eggs entree, they never asked how I would've like the steak cooked and they brought it medium, which we did not touch since it was too bloody for my liking. The deserts were all underwhelming also including meringue, tart and chocolate mousse. I got sliders for my kid who loves a good cheese burger but she didn't eat it either. Also having fries with burgers would've been nice and I was surprised she got two small sliders with no fries. Usually sliders and chicken tenders are always served with fries. Esp for children. Service was okay initially but towards end I had to keep looking for waiter trying to ask for things since again end of day I felt workers were busy closing out and not as much attention was paid to guests still left. Ambiance was okay. It was farther than I thought near Chinatown than my usual west LA options. To me it's about experience, taste and quality time but given price point and culinary experience I had for Mother's Day prefix, I do not want to dine again at this restaurant.

I had placed a phone order, for pick up; upon arrival, I found the service was prompt. I saw my food ready to go, just past the main walk-in area. Almost immediately after that, I was taken care of by the host and on my way. I've been waiting to try this place for ages so on the drive back to work I was excited to steal a piece of meat from the bag. Initial bite flavor was good, meat was tender just a bit on the chewy side.. I wasn't bothered by it too much as I'd have to leave it in an oven warmer at work. Trying to keep food warm, in doing so, I knew there'd be only two possible outcomes, melting tender or either tough & dry. So, the dish of meat and rice sat in the warmer for almost an hour hour and a half. The downhill slope.... Set the "meat " on the veggies and began to eat. Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it. As go on, I get the sinking feeling, this can't be real meat. I lock in, the deeper I dig, each piece looks the same, broken apart the same, tastes the same, just various shapes. They can call me crazy for this one - I'll stand by it. Something is not right here. I'm not even going to throw it away. I'm going to study it for the next few days and post an updated review. I hope I'm wrong but as of right now, I'll never revisit this place. Too freaky of an experience. We

I was able to find metered parking on the street; not sure why but I didn't need to pay that day! Upon arriving, we were fortunate that there was no wait time and got seated right away. Their menu was quite extensive so we took some time to browse before we ordered. They had a main menu and also a special menu. We pointed out some allergies to the staff and he helped us work around it. The orders came out quickly and he checked in on us frequently to see if we were okay. Great service! Bakka Wild Salmon - This salmon had a lot of things going on for it, in a good way! The combination of flavors felt very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lime and basil was played a big part there. Crispy Short Rib with Lime - Even initially before coming here, this was the dish that caught our attention. I will admit the portion size was a bit smaller than I expected and was even skeptical when it came out. However, without a doubt, this was the highlight of the visit. As someone that loves savory foods, this really hit the spot. The burst of flavors settles in right away. Truffle Wok Seared Noodles - We wanted to pick this noodle dish as a balance to the protein dishes. It did its job but it tasted okay. Not something that stood out. Slow-Drip Vietnam Coffee Flan - I liked the caramel that was layered on the flan, it was crunchy and added a nice texture. It was a nice presentation but tasted okay. Thai Tea - This was my personal drink. It was a standard Thai tea but came with ice cream on top. It was not too sweet but didn't stand out compared to other items. Strawberry Pandan Lemonade - This was my girlfriend's drink. I had a small sip here but found it was refreshing and not too sweet. However, I didn't really get any pandan flavor, mainly strawberry. When it all comes together, it was a good experience. The interior of the story is more dimly lit and felt like a romantic night dinner, despite being the middle of the day. The dishes had a balance of standard and hidden gems. Everything was more than sufficient for two people to share. Service was great and very attentive. Will come back for the Crispy Short Ribs!
