TLDR: This is some really solid Korean fried chicken tucked in a supermarket - not a spot you'd first expect some of the best texture of fried chicken! - - - - - - In search of the best fried chicken in K-Town, I knew Witch's Chicken would be the next step thanks to some online forums. Thoughts? Woah, I never would've thought to find this in the middle of a supermarket! Well, here we are... Parking is fairly easy since it's... well, in a supermarket. The average wait time for ordering at dinnertime is 15 minutes, and all of it is made fresh. I enjoyed their 10-piece Soy Garlic Spicy and Original. Thoughts? Well, for starters, both were fried very well - crispy exterior, juicy interior. The amount of seasoning was perfect, not too salty and not too light. I'm a slow meal enjoyer, but I'd be lying if I told you I was able to stretch this 30-minutes... nope this was devoured in 10 minutes - bones cleaned out, too, not a single microgram of meat left. The only dislike I have is the inexplicable and unpleasant aftertaste that I can't quite pinpoint. They do have a side of radish as a palate cleanser, and you can rest assured that this is some real fresh chicken - after all, even feathers remain! (Seeing that was a bit unsettling at first, though, but after looking closer, many of the skins have leftover hair / feathers. Last Sunday afternoon, I stopped by Koreatown Galleria Market and picked up some original fried chicken to go from Witch's Chicken inside the market, and had it for dinner. Witch's Chicken has been one of my favorite Korean-style fried chicken spots in LA for several years. However, I remember visiting sometime last year and ordering half fried and half soy garlic chicken, and the owner (a woman) was quite unfriendly and said they couldn't provide the dressing, so I hadn't gone back since then. Still, I remembered how good their fried chicken was, so I decided to pick some up while I was at the market. Their fried chicken is really delicious--super crispy, not too salty, and just perfectly seasoned. The young male staff member who took my order that day was also very friendly, which made the experience even better. They also serve pickled radish with the chicken, and it tastes even better when you eat it together with the radish. cf) They also have a stamp reward system where you get one stamp per purchase. Since I ordered both original hot wings and original drumsticks that day, I asked if I could get two stamps. However, they told me that two stamps are only given for orders over $50. My total that day was $40.83, so I didn't qualify for two stamps--it fell short by $9.17. But, it's ok. read more

I'm sorry, but this was the worst Korean fried chicken I've had. Two stars is only for service. I tried half and half for bone in, and the pieces were smaller than other places. It was also not cheap, so it was disappointing. Both flavors of the chicken were extremely sweet. Now I'm a fan of sweet Korean fried chicken sauces normally, but the seasoning here is straight up sugar. It was tough to stomach and I had to force myself to finish it. The flavors were sickly sweet and tasted like dessert, even the spicy garlic... Would not recommend unfortunately :( read more

Love the original chicken and spicy soy garlic definitely had a kick! Picked up for to go and while it did not look like a lot of food, our group of friends were so full and we still had leftovers! The parm garlic fries were a great addition to the chicken. The chicken was fried perfectly and kept its crunch even during delivery back home. It didn't seem to come with the radish that chicken usually comes with. Unable to comment on the ambiance and service since our friends picked it up, but they frequent it a lot and like it so I'm sure it's good! read more

My only regret is that I didn't find this place sooner! Tried the garlic Mac and cheese and it was incredible! I recently found my favorite garlic Mac and cheese at Sofi Stadium at the BBQ spot, but this taste was similar but had the garlic crunches and pieces of garlic roasted cloves on top. I order delivery and we weren't even the first stop, but everything came tasting delicious. It could have been a little crunchier and hotter, obviously, but the flavors are so amazing. Hands down the best Korean fried chicken around. I did an hour-plus takeout run, and the food held up amazingly well. While the spicy soy garlic got a bit soggy on the drive, the other three flavors stayed incredibly crispy and delicious. read more

Our order took a while to come out (20+ mins) but the drumsticks were FRESH and piping hot! The chicken was very crispy and delicious. The spicy sauce was a little too spicy for my low tolerance but our order came with packs of pickled radish which helped. Also love that provide gloves to eat with! read more

Delicious but the juiciness and crunch factor and sauce was just a tad less enjoyable as opposed to chains like BBQ chicken. Bonus point that witch's chicken has Mac and cheese which was super yummy and it's more of a creamy side as opposed to a decadent heavy cheesy mac. This fried chicken resembled more like a southern fry technique mixed with Americanized asian flavors. My favorite was the cheese snow powder (which tasted like a honey butter garlic cheese powder crunch), then soy garlic, original fried, then kbbq. To be honest the cheesy powder would probably be the only one I'd order again. This was a great spot to try but I'll probably stick to my Korean fried chicken at kyochon or bbq chicken. read more

I am now such a huge fan of which is chicken! I love the crispiness of the chicken, the juiciness of the wings! And all the sides are phenomenal! I know that I will be craving this pretty often because I found out about their business through Chimac festival! And I'm so happy that they are close by! I would definitely be catering from them for future events! I also met the owner who was very lovely and sweet and shared his founder story! The restaurant itself is in a Korean grocery store, but the good thing is that they have free parking! They have a few settings, but it seems like a lot of people do a to go order here! CRISPY, SAUCY CHICKEN -- what more can one ask for? Witch's Kitchen claims itself to be "Your mom's favorite chicken" on its website and I can't argue with that statement--it has me bewitched with its flavor and texture. It's definitely my favorite Korean chicken place in LA. It's located unassumingly inside the Galleria grocery store in Ktown in the back corner and although there is a busy/bustling lot that my husband I I often find ourselves fighting for our lives for a spot it is well worth it for Witch's chicken. You can order on the phone or online for pick up so you don't have to wait 15-20 minutes for it to be freshly prepared but no sweat if you don't -- you can just meander around the grocery store looking at banchan and other goods while you wait. We love the classic soy garlic and KBBQ flavored wings. Each wing is crispy with a surprisingly not overly oily and dressed in a delicious sticky sauce that will leave you feeling moreish. It's a good thing that I have to make a decent drive out to KTown or I'd be losing all my money on weekly visits here for their chicken! Dreaming of the next time I get to come back. read more

This is crazy. I ordered an original fried HALF (of a whole chicken) plus some mozzarella sticks. The bone in chicken was more expensive than the boneless. OTHER Korean chicken places give you huge portions, since they charge extra for the bone in as well. Well, apparently despite the heftier price I was expecting too much? There were only 5 pieces of chicken, which would be fine if there was meat on them, but the 3 pieces I picked up were literally all just batter and bones. When I called to let the owner know, she was like "we just use smaller chickens. Half is 5 pieces. Nothing I could really do about that". Sure, maybe writing somewhere on there that you use tiny chickens and that the portions would be much smaller? Anyway. I keep forgetting to check this place out because it's inside the galleria grocery store. Finally my mom wanted us to get some for our road trip, to eat as a late night snack at our destination. That plan was doomed from the start because as soon as we got the chicken we tore into it like animals and finished it immediately. We got the whole chicken half spicy soy and half cheese. Pretty good KFC. This place is tucked in the back corner of the Galleria supermarket by the checkout and refrigerated kimchi. You know the place of good when there's a line of people waiting to pick up their order after grocery shopping. The 10pc wings and large boneless each came with a side of pickled radish. Soy garlic was pretty good. There are some tables next to their counter to enjoy your chicken. Tables had wet wipes available. Ask the staff for gloves so you eat your chicken without getting your hands dirty. read more

Excellent. Despite being hidden away in a shopping center in K-town, we actually were lucky enough to find out about this place from a coworker and now we try to get it delivered quite often and sometimes people will make the 5 mile drive over there to pick it up and bring it back. The quality of the food is excellent and flavors are pretty tasty and the staff couldn't be nicer whether it's on the phone or in person. I've heard a lot of good things about Witch's Chicken from a few friends for so long, and I got to try it at last. It is located inside the Galleria Market on Olympic and Western, so parking is easy in the structure. Not sure if I am correct, but I remember seeing a different fried chicken place here back in the day, which must have reopened under Witch's Chicken now. I placed a phone order for pickup for whole fried chicken with spicy sauce on the side. I was told it would take 20 minutes. Pickup was a quick and smooth process; it took less than 30 seconds, to be honest. The smell of fried chicken was killing both of us in the car, hoping it wouldn't get too soggy by the time we got home. We got home in about 20 minutes or so, and to my surprise, the chicken was still hot and crispy as ever! It was so crunchy, moist inside, and seasoned pretty well. I loved it! The sauce was pretty good too, but even by itself, it was solid as it is. It also came with two small packs of pickled radish, which is definitely a must when eating Korean fried chicken. This was surely a plus for us! We also got an order of French fries, and they are very generous with the portion. It was a lot of crispy goodness!. They were a little more thick than I personally like, but as long as they are not soggy, I will enjoy them. My boyfriend and I devoured it and talked about wanting more of Witch's Chicken days later. This is one of our more frequent fried chicken places. It is located inside of the Galleria super market. So it's not the best environment for dine in. However, their chicken's pretty good. Ordered the original wings and drumsticks and yangnyum (mild spicy) wings combo. It was fried really well and I liked the yangnyum sauce esp because you can choose the level of spice. The combo came with coleslaw but I was surprised it was only one bite worth... don't think it's worth calling it a combo for that amount (it does also come with fries/rice but still). I've searched long and hard for the best Korean fried chicken and I'm sure this is the one in Los Angeles. It's perfectly crispy and crunchy and I've never been disappointed. Personal favorites are the drumsticks. Original and Soy Garlic - Mild. The sauces are perfect. Preferred are Honey Mustard and Ranch. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. Ever since my girlfriend and I have discovered this place, we've come here every time to satisfy the fried chicken craving and never looked back. The service is good, just a pick up an order or you can eat it there. My kid loves this place. The only downfall is the whole chicken is on the smaller side and for the price of $30. Some of the best Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) in Ktown in the most unassuming location! It's hidden inside the large Galleria Market on Western. When you go down the stairs, go to the right through the checkout areas and it's in the corner next to a sushi/kimbap place. I highly recommend getting the K. BBQ flavor, either Mild or Spicy (I'm not good at handling spice, so the spicy can get a little overwhelming after a few pieces because the heat builds). I tried the boneless wings last time, and they were really nice and juicy with a few pieces of rice cake too. Order at the window and be prepared to wait ~15-20 minutes for your order to be ready (sometimes it takes longer if they are busier). We usually just stroll around the market for a bit and come back to pick up our chicken order. They might not have the variety of flavors as other places but what they have they do extremely well. These Spicy Soy Wings are the perfect balance of umami, spicy, and sweet.
