I've been here a few times and it never disappoints! It's a great dinner/date spot, as the lighting is soft and the seating is cozy. I'm a vegetarian and there are multiple filling menu options. The food tastes great and although it's an "American cuisine" on maps, it is very good pasta/Italian dishes. I always leave very full and happy! Gustavo has been my server every time and he is great! Very knowledgeable of the menu, checks in frequently, upsold me on dessert. Alex also brought our food and bussed our dirty plates, as we had many from tasting a few items. Dinner on Mother's Day? Why yes, yes, we will. I've never been here, but had heard good things. We showed up almost on time (which was really good considering the kids tend to, you know, procrastinate getting ready), and we were whisked to our table. The place was full, which might be the normal operation or maybe a Mother's Day thing. I will say it was also pretty loud, but fortunately, I'm partially deaf so no big deal for me. You could shoot a cannon behind me and I probably wouldn't jump. We were seated near the entryway of the kitchen, so we had an opportunity to watch the food coming out, and I gotta say, the presentation on everything led me to believe we were going to have a fantastic evening. Note: I rarely if ever order pizza at restaurants, but holy hell the pizzas that were coming out looked really fantastic. We started with an order of the bread, yellowfin crudo with cara orange and jalapeño, and fried calamari. The youngest child loved the bread, it was very solid, the crudo was very good too. But the fried calamari was something special. It was surprisingly light for being fried, with other fun things tossed in, and a delightful tartar sauce. Two thumbs up. Order this. You're welcome. The pasta orders soon arrived. All were really good..gnocchetti with shrimp, spaghetti bolognese. I had ordered the eggplant parmesan and was so happy I did. It was delicious! Expertly prepared, and I'm embarrassed to say (nah, I'm really not) that I ate every single thing on that plate. Service was fantastic, the food was amazing. Really very impressed. We will be back. This is a quiet restaurant with a charming garden: No blaring music like everywhere else so conversations are possible. The server was nice and food was served promptly ; Nothing sophisticated but good flavors throughout and dishes made with the freshest ingredients. We had the green salad with pickles and a lemony vinaigrette, the meatballs with polenta , an excellent pizza with pepperoni, jalapeños and honey and the penne bolognese. Blair's was absolutely incredible. The service was outstanding, and the food came out so fast. We had the burrata bruschetta, and it was probably one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is beautiful, whether you sit inside or outside I've done both, and both experiences were amazing. I've gone back multiple times because it's just that good. Already went to Blair's in Eagle Rock and loved it. Our nephew didn't love Blair's Silver Lake but we're not sure why. In any event, we went to a show at the Elysian Theater that got out at 9 or so and we saw Blair's was open and thought we'd stop in. It was very quiet on a rainy night. All three dining areas are charming and romantic. Lots of candlelight. Staff was welcoming and attentive. Had a pasta and a couple of apps to share, and I had a glass of wine that was quite good. This was a while ago or I'd be more specific. All in all, a very nice dining experience and great food. Hope the nephew give it another chance. read more

Fantastic date night spot! Ambiance: One of our favorite things. You can either dine by the bar or the other 2 rooms that had a stellar romantic vibe Parking: Metered street parking and we were lucky to find a spot right out front Service: Spectacular! We dined on a Thursday night and arrived when they opened. Within an hour, the place was PACKED and it seemed like there was only 1 server (male with a beard) and he was fantastic! Patient, kept his cool, knowledgeable and comped our dessert because our pizza took a while to come out Drinks: My husband tried their 3 happy hour drinks and he loved them all! I couldn't try because I was pregnant but he said i'd really enjoy the white wine from France that was refreshing. TBH I can't wait to return just to try the wine :P Food: Truffle fries were a great deal- large portion and part of HH. The Meatball polenta(?) was average and a bit cold :( My husband really enjoyed the 28 hot honey pizza and i opted for the penne ragu bolognese which didn't wow either of us, esp for the price of $27. We had the chocolate pot de creme dessert with dulce de leche whip and almonds. Finally tried Blair's. Apparently when it first opened it wasn't great but was told now it is. Food was Good, but for 200.00 for 2 and no drinks it seems a little steep. For that price I'd rather have comfortable chairs to sit on at least and enough room to not be bumping backs with the table behind me. Beet Salad was incredible, bread good not great, tagliatelle shrimp good, and short ribs great. Food arrived promptly, service attentive until we were ready to go and get the check. read more

The only reason I'm leaving a review here is because the service was strangely bad. From the start the servers were so apathetic, literally spilling wine dropping some onto our plates and saying nothing. We were 5 for a birthday and I don't really ask much from servers in general but our server must have said under 10 words in the hour and a half or so we were there. Just really off. Pizza and some apps we got were really good, the pasta was just pretty good. It's a super charming place indoors and out. Price was higher than quality of food but still overall decent. The charm definitely carried it. But yeah, man... the service.... xD, def reconsider your staff if any manager or owner see this. read more

Top dishes: market salad, puttanesca, trout Market salad (5/5) - incredible dressing, the PICKLES are such a welcome surprise, so fresh and herby I couldn't get enough Puttanesca (5/5) - so much flavor, pasta perfectly al dente Trout (4.5/5) - super interesting dish with a yogurty sauce and quinoa with raisins. Small portion though Pomodoro (4.5/5) - really solid Bread app (5/5) Calamari (5/5) - so crispy! We've been to Blair's twice, and each time it was great! Really great food, service and atmosphere.

We made a reservation for five people at 7:00 PM and weren't seated until 7:20 PM. We completely understand that weekends are busy, but what was frustrating is that there were several four-top tables available. We assumed we were waiting because a five-seat table was being prepared for us. After waiting 20 minutes, we were eventually seated at a four-top anyway. If that was the plan all along, we don't understand why we weren't seated at 7:00 instead of being asked to wait. What made the experience worse was the manager's attitude. He seemed unbothered and not apologetic, and it came across as though our concerns didn't matter. The lack of communication and customer service was really disappointing. read more

Came in on a weeknight to meet up with some friends for dinner. Parking was not an issue at all, but it is all street parking in the area. When you walk in there is no host stand, so we just went up to the bar. We had a reservation but it didn't seem to matter as there was plenty of space. While the indoor seating seems limited, there is another larger room with more tables. We opted to sit outside, as it was kind of loud inside. We ordered 2 starters, a bottle of wine, and some pastas. Although it took us awhile to decide what we wanted to order, our server was very patient and helpful when we asked questions. Service was great! Food was also good. The bruschetta with burrata was delicious, as was the arugula Caesar salad. The pasta was good, but nothing to tell home about. Charming neighborood restaurant in Silverlake that is deceivingly larger than it appears from the outside. Service was very good. Food was solid. Trout ($35) was good as was the arugula salad ($19). Tagliatele guanciale dish ($28) was decent but a bit too rich/heavy for my taste and I normally like cream sauces. Prices are much higher than my last visit, but I suppose that is the sign of the times. They did run out of iced tea at 6:30 p.m. which was a bit of a surprise, but overall it is a place to which I would return. One note--for some reason cell phone coverage in that area of Silverlake is very poor/spotty and they do not have customer wifi so you may not be able to pay with your phone or do any quick online research of any of the dishes. read more

I love this place! We were visiting from out of town, after coming here and loving it last year. It was just as outstanding the second time. We brought friends with us, and they loved it too - memorable evening. They have a lovely quiet and private outdoor patio, with olive trees and charming lighting, and we love dining al fresco. We brought 2 children with us this time, and although they do not have a children's menu, one pasta entree split is perfect for 2 children. They have a great wine list / we had a delightful Sangiovese that paired perfectly with our meal. They bake the bread on site, and the bruschetta with local tomatoes and the right amount of garlic is some of the best I have ever enjoyed. Don't miss sampling the appetizers - there was a new addition with fava bean puree, sugar snap peas, cucumber and dill that was so delightful and refreshing we cleared that plate in no time! We also shared several pasta entrees - the gnochetti with mushrooms was an absolute favorite for 2 of us, while all of us loved the fettuccini with shrimp in a cream sauce. One of us liked the gnocchi with peas best of all, not my favorite of the choices because it was a little too mildly flavored for me but the pecorino on it really helped for my taste buds. We also ordered a side of roasted cauliflower which had a red pepper sauce underneath for more or less of that kick according to your taste. Honestly everything here is impeccable, our waiter was great and attentive, and the owner came out to check on us too and was very cordial. Can't wait to return here again. Above average neighborhood spot. When I walked in I was immediately drawn to the warm lighting. Great music without being too loud (like most LA restaurants). We sat down at 6:20pm on a Monday, the server let us know happy hour was almost over. We quickly ordered the olives and market salad on happy hour. The olives were standard castelvetrano but a good portion. The market salad had fresh lettuces and herbs, a really nice lemony dressing with bread & butter pickles. The combination was surprisingly addictive. For mains we ordered the penne bolognese and the radiatore puttanesca. We liked the bolognese more but both were nice pasta dishes. The service was great, we were checked on multiple times. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Silverlake. The food is yummy! I recommend the arugula salad. The pizza fresh made dough with a good balance of sauce, cheese and pepperoni. Branzino was paired with squash purée and arugula simply amazing tasty and healthy dish. Pistachio budino is worth a try! The servers are polite and attentive providing excellent service. They made sure our water was full and tables were clean. Checking on our table throughout the meal. The ambiance is warm and cozy. We were nearby and searched Yelp for a local place we could get pasta. We came across Blair's and took it as a sign because my son's name is Blair. The place is easy to find and is very welcoming. There was no hesitation on our part to check out this new (to us) place. It was easy enough to find parking and we were also encouraged because it is fairly close to the 5, and we would have an hour and a half drive home when we left. What began as a whim to try something new might easily turn into a place we will frequent every time we are nearby. The service was friendly and everything has been well thought out from the decor to the hand made plates. The 4 of us agreed it was the best meal we have had out in quite a while. We ordered the penne bolognese, eggplant Parmesan, pan seared trout and another pasta with a tomato cream sauce. We shared 2 desserts. Tiramisu and the Pistachio b?. Both were amazing. I am not a huge tiramisu fan and this had just the right flavors. The pistachio dessert was something like a mouse, almost pumpkin spice like, only with pistachios. Great menu choices all around. There was only one disappointment and that is that they do not serve coffee. It seemed a little unusual. We hope they add that to their menu but it won't keep us away if they don't. read more

I'd been wanting to try Blair's for a while as I've driven past it no less than 50 times in the last couple years and always saw a lot of people, even on week nights. I'm sad to say my experience was just okay, and the restaurant felt a bit overpriced. We walked in and were told to sit anywhere, we opted for a spot in the side dining room which ended up being pretty loud from a couple groups, but no big deal. We waited for about 10 minutes; no one came by to drop off a menu or take our drink order. We had to go back to the front and ask for service. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer as well as the Spring Pea Gnocchi and another pasta. They made an accommodation to use gnochetti with the shrimp and tomato sauce, which we were really grateful for, and it came out yummy! The portion size for the spring pea gnocchi was rather small -- not worth $28 in my opinion. Calamari was also $18 for a small appetizer size. Italian restaurants usually serve bread complementary or for a small price, but bread/butter was $12 so we opted not to order Overall, we enjoyed the food. Ambiance was nice. Service was just okay, not to the standard of an expensive restaurant. We may come back and try again in the future. read more

A nice place to dine. There's eating, grubbing, chowing down, having drinks, munching . . . and then there's dining. To me, that's a Blair's in Silverlake experience. I do miss the trout. And the cauliflower. These ingredients aren't really impacted species nor are in short supply, so why these beloved dishes were stricken from the record, I do not know. Tonight I tried the sea bass. Good char flavor, but a bit dry, and heavily capered, which left the dish overly briny. The salted butter was not well mixed either, so you either got a mouthful of salt or none at all. (Taste your food chef!) Service was pleasant, albeit generic. I didn't feel chaperoned through my shaky choices, redundant order was perfunctorily accepted. For example: arugula salad + sea bass = a lot of similarly seasoned and textured greens. It might have been suggested something with more varied texture, but alas. The red wine was served cold - and lacked depth that comes with a decent temperature, especially on a chilly evening. I did find joy in the arugula Caesar salad and some bites of the sea bass. They've also discontinued serving hot beverages. (Read: no coffee after dinner). An omen of a downward spiraling civilization - perhaps I'm a bit dramatic. It would have finished off the meal properly . Overall, though the effort felt solidly "dialed-in", it was still a nice dining experience - though it could have easily and with minimal effort, been nicer. read more
