So cute and cozy! Quickly become one of my favorite places in the city! Alongside one of the nicer parts of the LA river, cute storefront with attached bakery. They have a unique wine list that I appreciate, really reasonable prices and a great happy hour. Their food menu is small but so yummy! I love their Moroccan cigars. It can fill up inside, but the staff is great and really helpful with making wine suggestions.

Angry grandma pizza

My friend and I walked here after a show at The Elysian for a late dinner. It's tucked in a residential neighborhood but we found it without issue. There was a large party celebrating a birthday outside when we arrived, so we grabbed two open seats at the bar inside. We were quickly provided with menus and started off with a round of drinks and a salad. The salad was delicious and I loved the fried capers much more than I expected. The angry grandma pizza was also good and the peppers gave a nice kick! And we ended the night with espresso martinis and a pizookie, of which my only complaint was I wish the ice cream to cookie ratio was higher. The service was great and I could have easily spent the rest of the night there, the music and vibes were great for catching up. Would recommend and return.

Unfortunately no longer a safe space for vegan dining. Should you choose to dine here anyway, be sure to clarify with your server which items are vegan and which are not. Honestly disappointing.

Entrance is a bit hidden but can't miss this door & mermaid doorknob!

Justine's Wine Bar's in an off-beaten path of Frogtown. I've never been on this side of the 5 Fwy! LOL! Street parking only, so you're better off taking Uber or Lyft. Eclectic, artsy, hole-in-the-wall bar. Reminds of how Silverlake used to be before it got gentrified. This is a great place for a date when you're tired of the usual spots. But I wouldn't recommend it for your first date because there's really nothing else around so you're kinda stuck here if things are a bit awkward! Hahaha! There are small tables & stools by the entrance, plush banquette seating along the wall & stools at the bar. They also have an outdoor area which I didn't go to but will try next time. It's dark & moody inside but the noise does bounce around with loud music so I found it a bit hard to hear conversation if it wasn't one-on-one. I'd probably come back with some friends for Happy Hour & then go into DTLA for dinner!

Walked a ways here for some dinner- didn't have a chance to eat all day and I've been coming here for a while to support even though every time is a joke. Ordered some lasagna- walked all the way back, opened the box to a pound of sauce poured on top of the lasagna- whatever. Took a bite to realize the completely uncooked dough they tried to cover up. The dough was completely 100% raw there was even still dry flour bits in it. Had to spit it out. Gave my partner a bite without saying anything- they spit it out. This is now like the 5th time they have given me completely raw food- make this the last time and a review to account for it. Don't come here unless you want to get sick Might need to report the business at this point

I've been here a few times; if you are in need of a bar and have the munchies- THIS is a great place. It's also a cool spot to have a few drinks with a few friends (there isn't much space for big groups, but the patio is doable! Our biggest group hang was possibly 8 people?)! Definitely recommend if you're in the area (plus they have a bakery next door that's open earlier) Food menu sometime changes (at this point we may have tried most if not all of the menu), but their food hasn't missed (for us at least). The drinks have always been superb, the bartenders are nice, but they're also chatty with regulars (I assume) so it may take some time to order (depending who's working the bar). Overall always have a great time here! Plus the patio is perfect for summer hangs. Usual go-to: potato croquettes Salt n Pepper shrooms Spritz Spicy margarita -Possibly the best I've ever had For more recommendations check out my Instagram: Soybienvegana

in shock and awe at this place. I've been wanting to come here for the longest time but the drive always stopped me. I finally made it here an hour before they closed on sunday and immediately fell in love. it's hidden in a tiny neighborhood street and you could easily miss the entrance especially since i went at pitch black - but the door was open and i heard live music coming from inside. it was small and dark inside but incredibly cute. lots of candle light and beautiful art and red velvet couches. We ordered the - morroccon cigarettes (absolutely loaded 10/10) - potato pizza (i forgot the formal name 8/10) - pizzokie (100000/10) I scared the entire pizookie down by myself lol, i think my date got one bite in it was so damn good im still drooling over it. Staff was very very friendly as well, we were bugging the bartender all night with tons of questions and she stayed incredibly sweet. love this place and I can not wait to be back (please never get rid of the pizookie)

Pasta water vodka

The place was super aesthetic and the bathroom was really cool inside. However the food . I would never go here again. Each dish that I had lacked more and more flavor. We got the spicy vodka pasta. Which tasted just like pasta water. Then the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce tastes like a watery canned tomato sauce. The only thing that had some flavor was the pizza. The crust was nice and fluffy. Then.... The drinks. I ordered the witches brew sour which is advertised as a cocktail and some of the ingredients listed like (aquafaba, activated charcoal, and black glitter) were no where to be found in the drink. We asked the girl and she said it's actually a bottle drink .... I wasn't super bothered by the fact that it was bottled. I was more so bothered because 3/6 ingredients were not actually in the drink.

What time do they actually open on weekends? I see someone here said it is not 3, as posted on Yelp, but 5 or later. Please clarify. Thanks.

What are the happy hour specials?

Yes, from what I remember they have Happy Hour specieals.

Are all the food options vegan or only some?

100% vegan and all incredibly delicious! Even my carnivorous friends love this hang.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cozy, warm, and intimate atmosphere. I went shortly after they opened around 5pm--candles were lit, the sun was setting, and the mood was just right. A small menu usually means you have to try everything, right? That's exactly what we did. As you can see from the photos, each dish was perfectly portioned for two people. The shareable plates were packed with flavor yet kept beautifully simple--nothing overdone or overwhelmed with unnecessary ingredients. They offer wine by the glass, but we opted for a bottle... because why not. I've been meaning to go back--Highland Park has such an eclectic nighttime scene, and this spot fits right in!

So we left Hosted a mixer yesterday from 4-7p with local business owners and for whatever reason, despite there being only 3-4 other people in the entire spot, the cook kept insisting we move all the way to the back so to "be out of the way" of other patrons as if WE weren't patrons. Not a good look when the only POC in the building are being made to feel like we don't belong considering most of us are from here. Felt a bit Rosa Parks to me which is most definitely not the vibe. We ultimately had 20 people there enjoying the company but being treated like trash at a spot where most of us would walk to! Aside from Gabriel, who is always nice, Customer service was subpar and not the way a local bar should feel. Posting this knowing they will likely not care but hoping you will.

Waiter Manuel. This…read moreis a review reflected on you, solely. Being kind is the moral of the story, from the beginning you were passive agressive with your comments and tone. Being in a party of 4 girls coming from high tea, we were dressed in elegant dresses, first comment was asking if we were coming from church, followed by eye flutters, short "okay" with an upward inflation to a joke about the day, an impatient comment about hurrying up and trying the wine while we were talking, asked for water when we were out, were left to pour the rest of our wine, didn't ask how the food was all the while was attentive to the table behind us, the cherry on top comment was when we were discussing the bill at the end, he was hovering at the table behind ours, then when we were ready, we asked to split the bill into 2, my portion on mine and the rest on another card, he then said "this isn't like a drive through, we can't do it that way" so I asked him to explain his comment, cause it was passive agressive and rude. After he wasnt able to becuase he wasnt expecting me to call out his rude comment, I had to then break it down and specify what I had ordered, he then sold "okayyyy....so how much, cause we don't itemize?" I had to again express for him to specify how they do it cause he has still yet to explain where his attitude is coming from and explain how they do their check splits, from my understanding it just felt like he wanted to play dumb and make me to the math, one I did he was like "ohh, okay" should have asked for the manager but we paid and left, I hasnt had this experience before being a returning customer, but he needs an attitude adjustment as his attitude was completely out of pocket. Do better Manuel, you alone got your place of work a 1 star. The rest of the staff was kind, facility beautiful and food and wine was good. This restaurant is not reflected in the 1 star.

Glassell Park is a hidden neighborhood in Los Angeles, anyway, and if you don't know what you are looking for, you might zip right past W&S, as we did. Parking is hit and miss, but there are side streets and you will find a space if you give yourself an extra 15 minutes before you come. The neighborhood is mysterious to me, sort of pricey grunge & hipster, iykwim. But! Once you are inside, you are in a completely different world. Bright, clean, genteel, muted, with dappled sunlight dripping through various apertures and alighting in a soft glow here and there on shining metal tables. It's beautiful. Some catchy upbeat contempo-pop music streamed steadily at just the right volume overhead. I found myself resisting the temptation to get up and dance. There are several rooms from which to choose, but I wanted to be seated on the wine-red suede banquette that gave me a view of the whole restaurant and out onto the tree-canopied street. From the time we arrived to the moment we left about an hour later, we were showered with warm smiles and attentive service. And the food? Exquisite. See my pictures. It was hard to choose. One tiny disappointment was they were out of the biscuits that I wanted to start with, but I enjoyed the crusty tender Clark Street bread slices served with warm creamery butter instead. It only got better from there. The two bowls we ordered were filled with fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection, topped with an egg prepared as we requested, i.e., over medium. The portions are modest and it was all so good, we didn't take anything home. We ordered coffee and were brought two tall steaming mugs of Americano, smooth, dark, and delicious. Best of all was the Lemon Lavender cake, a seasonal specialty. Honestly, it might be one of the best, moistest, most flavorful and elegant cakes I have ever had. So fantastic, that I just ordered some lavender buds (if I don't collect them from our garden) to replicate it at home. I don't drink much alcohol but if I did, I would head here for one of their experiences or tastings -- they have a formidable list. Check all this out. And hurry if you want to have Lemon Lavender cake.

Everyone also didn't feel particularly welcoming, from the hostess to the waitress (no smiles). Thankfully, we were seated outside for some fresh air, although the warm murky smell still lingered a bit outdoors. The menu seem fairly limited since nothing really stood out to me as especially exciting. I've studied the menu prior before going, and was only looking forward to their burger, but they didn't have it during dinner apparently. While the dishes were descripted very well on the menu, there was no depth in flavors. I'm talking about the pork belly, lamb chops, tartare, Spanish octopus, and especially the seasonal pasta. I'm happy that it wasn't overly salty, but overall the food tasted mediocre and felt a bit basic. I'm only saying this because I could make it myself, at least the lamb, fatty pork belly, and pasta. Portions were also on the small side. Service was a bit slower as it took some time to get seated and receive our food, and one of our dishes was forgotten until we reminded the staff after already finishing most of the meal. On the positive side, we were able to find easy street parking about a block away, and the restaurant itself has a cozy ambiance that would probably be great for a chill dinner with some wine. However, my group left still feeling very hungry and unsatisfied. To be fair, we came in hungry, and the portions and long wait didn't help.
