Hands down my go to in Glendale. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and consistently on point. Always coming back.

This establishment is recognized as a leading bar and restaurant within the Glendale area. Its innovative beverage program, diverse culinary offerings, and exceptional customer service consistently surpass expectations. Mr. Edwin and Nikos, alongside their team of highly skilled bartenders, ensure each visit is both memorable and enjoyable. The bar's ambiance is characterized by its sophisticated and European aesthetic.

Well this was a nice surprise. Cozy, great food and great wine selections too. We were able to snag the area upstairs which made it feel like we were in our own private room. The staff was awesome and would come up stairs to ensure we had our waters refilled, ensured we weren't in need of more wine and to give us a quick friendly chat. We had a group of about 8 of us, plenty of wine, cheese, and even some delicious empandas to share. We were thankful the place wasn't loud or crowded and we were comfortable. Would totally come back. Good selection and service was fine. Came during off hours so it was nice and chill vibes. Veggie and beef empanadas were phenomenal.

    Reservation

Oak and Vine took our reservation and then didn't accept it when we came tonight. The staff person tried to send us to another restaurant (assuming we just went to the wrong restaurant) even though I showed him our reservation. We went anyway just in case there was something we didn't understand about where we were supposed to go. Unsurprisingly, the restaurant next door took a look at our reservation, said this reservation wasn't for their restaurant, and politely sent us back to Oak and Vine. We went back, showed them the reservation again, and the staff person said they didn't have our reservation (I showed it to him again) and he said that the whole restaurant had been reserved by someone else for a month. Basically he just sent us away with nothing which was super frustrating. We drove a long way to be here only to be suffer the consequences of their being really disorganized. I won't be going here again. I find it disingenuous when someone won't own their mistakes. The concept is very simple: don't let us make a reservation if you're not going to be open.

Highly recommended this place for everyone, great service , delicious food , hospitality and very very friendly atmosphere )

What a great find for a Saturday night! It was a cozy, clean, and warm environment to have a quick dinner. Everyone here is so friendly. I can confidently say these are the only mac and cheese balls that I've thoroughly enjoyed and believed is fried to perfection. The spinach artichoke dip is super cheesy, warm, and overall delicious. The chicken club sandwich was alright, but nothing special. My boyfriend and I were a bit disappointed that they ran out of cheesecake but the restaurant owner was so kind and offered us a different complimentary dessert! Thank you!

Excellent service! I don't recall the name of our waiter/bartender but he has vast knowledge in cocktails/mixology. He was attentive & customized our drinks to our liking. We didn't eat any food, we stopped by this spot for nightcap. My friend ordered the pink lady w/gin & I had Flor de Caña rum. I would like to return to try food & cocktails again. As far as parking, I believe there is parking garage nearby & a short walk to Americana.

NIKOS - the GREEK GOD. 5 star for the man. Service was beyond amazing. Ambiance was big vibe. Did not get a chance to try the food but the dranks drankinnnn

From fun nights out, special occasions, whiskey tastings, exploring the speakeasy... playing some pool, enjoying libations, taking in live music, perfect outings on the patio, the occasional cigar. So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. And Seven Grand cares about everyone and their safety. They value their staff as much as their customers. And it shows in every way from thoughtful space in all directions, great pool tables, a whiskey, bourbon and scotch curated cocktail menu, even some good brew/beer. Awesome hallways with cabinet lockers, the cleanest restrooms, great dim dark warm lighting, fun fixtures and true DTLA vibes that feel old timey yet also very modern. Seven Grand is open to all and all are welcome. Stellar daily happy hour 4pm to 8pm. I love a good $10 Toki Highball at 5pm, but you can't go wrong with their classic old fashion also. All the bartenders are incredible as well as personable. S Grand is open every day from 4pm until 2am. Loads of lots close by as well as the Metro station at 7th and Metro. Though the trains currently stop just a little after midnight. Rideshare is also your friend, which now includes Waymo in the area. Discover Seven Grand also in San Diego, Austin or Denver. If planning an event you inquire with Stephen via email for personal parties, events with a budget and even corporate parties. They're very accommodating with a good amount of notice. When we had my boyfriend's birthday here they reserved a table for us and set us up with everything we needed. Thinking of having my next birthday here myself both at Seven Grand and Bar Jackalope (their hidden speakeasy). Support your awesome LA Whiskey Bar!

When we walked in, there was a tall, bald male bartender and a blonde female bartender working--neither of whom I've seen here before. We ordered two drinks, but the service from the male bartender was inattentive from the start. At one point, my friend tried to get someone's attention to ask for a lime and wasn't acknowledged. She ended up grabbing a lime herself from the garnish tray--which I understand isn't ideal--but the response we got was completely out of line. The male bartender became immediately hostile and started aggressively cursing at my friend. When I calmly asked the female bartender if this was normal behavior, he inserted himself into the conversation and said, "she put her fucking hand in the fucking jar," in a very confrontational tone. I tried to de-escalate the situation and respectfully explained that there was no reason to speak to us that way, but he continued the hostility and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out." At that point, I paid for our drinks and we left. What made this especially disappointing is that this has never been our experience here before. We've always enjoyed this bar and have had positive interactions with the regular staff. If this had been my first visit, I would not come back. I understand that what my friend did wasn't appropriate, but it absolutely did not justify being yelled at and cursed out. I hope management addresses this, because this kind of behavior is not reflective of the bar I've come to know.

ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... In the same square mile there are things that bring you the ultimate levels of joy and gratification while also finding things that bring you sadness, or in some cases anger. Think about the traffic; oh that maddening traffic! However, life is better when spent focusing on the positive rather than the negative and one positive about Los Angeles is that there is no shortage of cool little nocks and crannies to fall into on any given night. One of these aforementioned nocks and/or crannies is Bar Jackalope, situated right in the heart of Downtown LA on 7th & Grand Ave. It offers one of my favorite features in life... a secret. It's tucked away behind an unassuming passage, posing as a hallway for the historic Seven Grand. When you walk in, you are greeted with Speakeasy decor and a wide variety of whiskey often difficult to find at other bars, even the ones with a large spirits selection. The cherry on top is that you can have a cigar with your whiskey, the way God intended, instead of just drinking like a savage. There are fewer joys in life than a good quality whiskey and a nice fat cigar that could give you a buzz even if you weren't drinking. But there is a caveat.
