Came here after a whole day of day drinking with friends at a beer share. A few of us weren't ready to end the night quite yet and this place sounded perfect. The spot is not super vibe-y in that it's chill and elegant without feeling elitist. You can meet here with friends or with one other person and have a great time with convo over delicious cocktails. The bar is pretty well stocked with a variety of spirits. I personally ordered a couple Bees Knees and a Dirty Martini. I thought both were well made and had a good amount of booze in them. Just a great spot to hang out in before or after dinner in the area. Parking could be tricky, but I think we got lucky since it was a Sunday evening and we were able to find parking within two blocks.

Dark and loud ambiance. Self-seating and order at the bar! Parking can be tough though. Ordered the Paraiso which was on the sweeter side! Could definitely taste the grapefruit and the alcohol wasn't overly strong. I would order it again since I prefer sweeter cocktails. My friend ordered the Miracle Tonic which was suuuper strong in my opinion, but obviously depends on your preference.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this neighborhood bar. It feels welcoming and a place where everyone could know your name after even just one visit. Hospitable and clean, the modern decor was elegant yet still casual. As for drinks, my Gin Gimlet was superb. The handmade truffle potato chips were a delish pairing, so it's no wonder they all disappeared so quickly. Happy Hour is one of my favorite things to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon. So I'm sure I'll be back with more friends soon enough. HAPPY HOUR M-F: 4-6PM SATURDAY: 2-6PM SUNDAY: 2-8PM

Hit up this spot last night and had a great time! The crowd is hipster casual, service is solid with some very handsome bartenders, and the drinks are great! Decor is modern with a chic feel, and though this spot doesn't serve food there was an amazing pizza truck out front which they allow you to eat inside the bar. Bonus points for easy street parking in the area. Definitely looking forward to having more drinks here very soon!

The Grant is a modern chic lounge bar in Glassell Park. Interior design and layout were great. They have good selection of beers, wine and cocktails. Atmosphere was chill and perfect for a first date or hangout. Bartenders were nice and friendly. Prices were fair. Street parking only. Overall, I had a good drink and experience.

During my visit I sat at the bar top. This is a nice place to grab a drink after work. The place was busy in a Thursday. Everyone that was there looked like they just came straight from the office. Will visit again soon. Old Fashioned- 10/10 Straight forward and tasty Paraiso- 10/10 Nice and subtle gin drink.

Some of the friendliest bar men I've encountered. Always professional, polite, and welcoming. Theres a pizza truck right outside if you must eat and they will bring the food inside where you can eat, no problem. Great ambiance overall. Never seen crazy drinks or people being nasty. Check them out!

Good happy hour selection, cute date place for casual conversation (brightly lit, 1 big room w/ 2 cozy sections for group seating) Bartender (only 1 avail) was sweet, even though seemed quite busy! Would come back for happy hour - wine/beer is a good deal!

Fun atmosphere, delicious drinks, good service! Great menu with drinks with all different flavors + liquor and they have a happy hour menu as well! I got the daiquiri which they said was "og". It was served in an up glass and was light & refreshing! Would definitely get it again

Found this place randomly and what a find it was. It wasn't near a busy area but it is surrounded by neighborhoods and small streets so parking could be an issue. I happen to be there earlier on in the day so I lucked out and found parking really close. The place was not too packed, but there were still a few patrons sitting at the bar and some of the tables(booths) were taken. The place itself looks pretty upscale with a calm vibe. The noise level was pleasant enough for normal conversation. They had a mix of beers and cocktails, no food though. They also have a very good happy hour menu. The bartenders were extremely friendly and they seem to know a few of the regulars. I feel like this would be a go to prime spot if you lived in the neighborhood. Everything about this visit was amazing. I almost wanted to keep it to myself in hopes of having it be my special go-to place. Met up with a friend here and he enjoyed it a lot too.

    Jessica B.

The bar was charming and cozy with super dimly lit atmosphere . I would recommend coming early to secure a seat at the bar or one of their small tables. The drinks were good, and so was the service. Parking wasn't too bad, and I would definitely come back.

I've had my eye on the Grant for quite some time now. Every time I've attempted to go, there has been no parking so I would leave To go elsewhere. I finally got to try the Grant on a thursday night. There was parking about a block away on the bridge. A short walk to the bar and you are invited with dark ambiance, lounge seating, and modern adornments. I tried the Rose on tap and the space walrus. The cocktail was great! Refreshing, slightly on the sweet side, and aromatic. The bartenders are friendly and it wasn't overly crowded. Perfect for a date or a small group. I will definitely return as long as I can find parking. :)

Our two servers were fantastic! It was fun talking custom cocktails with one, and food with the other. Both servers, as well as food runners, were ON IT! The bartenders definitely make well balanced, delicious concoctions. And then our food came: Mmm! So many vibrant flavors! Fresh, popping zings of ginger and garlic on the noods, delectable brisket with brightness from the red onion and cilantro wrapped in a comfort blanket of bao, break a sweet sweat from chilis on the spicy tofu noodles, green, bright, and lip smacking umami on the brussels, and bbq perfection on the meat. Very friendly and they provide great service. Their brews menu is TOP NOTCH! The first time I had a P.O.G. cider (not theirs,) and this last time I had their own branded "Resolution Juice" hard seltzer. Honestly I expected something similar to a White Claw or other canned hard seltzer, but this was completely different. The menu stated it had notes of mango, prickly pear, and key lime and I was able to taste all of those flavors. One of the best brews I've had in a while! Their food menu is also awesome. They have a variety of vegan, veg, and non-veg dishes, and everything is soooo reasonably priced. Their vegan lumpia is great, vegan chicken sandwich is great, and this last time I had their wonton chicken salad which was super flavorful and rich. We also got the fried pickles this time which were not my favorite but not necessarily bad either. Highly recommend stopping by here for a casual drink or lunch, you wont regret it!

In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. We were told seating was first come, first served, so when a table opened up outside, our group of five sat down while part of our group went inside to order. Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against. As a fellow restaurant owner, I understand hospitality and house policies, which is why this treatment was especially disappointing. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos.
