I love neighborhood bars like this. It has style, is unpretentious, and draws people in because it offers a classy retreat to spend time with friends. I met here with some other fans of the band Cannons the day before their show at the Hollywood Bowl. We had a great time and had some special cocktails curated by the band. We stayed late into the night and had a great time together while sipping some delicious cocktails. I recommend meeting up with friends here for a great time. Arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday night, plenty of seating available. If you aren't at the bar, there are small low tables with short little upholstered stools to balance on. Note for ladies, not flattering to be wearing a mini. The vibe is nice, but it was a bit too dark to be able to ready the drink menu. Expect to pay $17 a drink. The music was a tad too loud to have an intimate conversation. In a party of 5 couldn't hear the person across the tiny table, which after a hour I had a headache and left. read more

What is it about a bar that you like? I mean you can get cocktails pretty much anywhere. What makes a bar in my opinion is the ambience and the people making and serving your cocktails. Came to The Grant a few months ago before our dinner reservations next door. Place felt very cozy, and not over crowded. Very nice decor, and also saw a good amount of dogs, seemed like a nice neighborhood bar. As for the drinks let's get into it: We came during happy hour, so $12 for an Old Fashion or Paloma was a steal. The Old Fashion was just ok, but I would order the Paloma again as it was super refreshing (great for summer days). Service was also really good even though they only had one bartender. Came here after a whole day of day drinking with friends at a beer share. A few of us weren't ready to end the night quite yet and this place sounded perfect. The spot is not super vibe-y in that it's chill and elegant without feeling elitist. You can meet here with friends or with one other person and have a great time with convo over delicious cocktails. The bar is pretty well stocked with a variety of spirits. I personally ordered a couple Bees Knees and a Dirty Martini. I thought both were well made and had a good amount of booze in them. Just a great spot to hang out in before or after dinner in the area. I can't say enough wonderful things about this neighborhood bar. It feels welcoming and a place where everyone could know your name after even just one visit. Hospitable and clean, the modern decor was elegant yet still casual. As for drinks, my Gin Gimlet was superb. I've had my eye on the Grant for quite some time now. Every time I've attempted to go, there has been no parking so I would leave To go elsewhere. I finally got to try the Grant on a thursday night. There was parking about a block away on the bridge. A short walk to the bar and you are invited with dark ambiance, lounge seating, and modern adornments. I tried the Rose on tap and the space walrus. The cocktail was great! Refreshing, slightly on the sweet side, and aromatic. The bartenders are friendly and it wasn't overly crowded. Delicious cocktails no doubt but the vide is just chill. Staff were okay not great, I felt like I had to make conversation with them so I could get some insight. There's no entertainment which is kind of okay I guess because you're force to have a conversation with whoever you're with, LOL. They don't have food so I got a little tipsy and no food! Found this place randomly and what a find it was. It wasn't near a busy area but it is surrounded by neighborhoods and small streets so parking could be an issue. I happen to be there earlier on in the day so I lucked out and found parking really close. The place was not too packed, but there were still a few patrons sitting at the bar and some of the tables(booths) were taken. The place itself looks pretty upscale with a calm vibe. The noise level was pleasant enough for normal conversation. They had a mix of beers and cocktails, no food though. They also have a very good happy hour menu. The bartenders were extremely friendly and they seem to know a few of the regulars. I feel like this would be a go to prime spot if you lived in the neighborhood. This is a great spot for small groups or a date. Came in for happy hour 4-6 which is pretty good. They have $4 beers, $8 wines, and $10 cocktails. Normal cocktails are around $12 so pretty reasonable. Can definitely recommend the Chimney Sweep cocktail, that was delicious. There's also a few snacks on the menu which you might need since there's not really any food nearby. Service was good. Friendly staff in masks. There's street parking but you may have to walk a block or two. Cool addition to the neighborhood, will definitely be coming back. read more

There was a bunch of people outside, not many inside, but it was a warm night and I guess people wanted to be out, despite the plenty of space inside. The drinks we got, even though they were more rum-focused, were pretty light and refreshing if that's the vibe you want. I was hoping for more old-fashioned type drinks, but looks like their menu isn't geared towards that. They do have low ABV drinks and others to choose from, so there's a good range for anyone to pick from. This is great for a date night drink at the bar, maybe don't bring a huge group, though they do have a tiny room in the back with 4 cocktail tables that are close to each other that I guess around 10 people could be in.
