When we asked for an accommodation, the security guard was rude and told us that if my son wanted water, he could walk all the way to the entrance every time, despite the distance from the bowling area. Hoping to resolve the issue, I spoke with the manager, Luis Gonzalez, but unfortunately he was just as dismissive and uninformed about autism and disabilities. Rather than listening and showing compassion, he was rude and unwilling to understand my son's needs. Businesses that serve families should make an effort to educate their staff about disabilities and neurodiversity. With autism becoming more widely recognized, basic awareness, empathy, and reasonable accommodations should not be too much to ask. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and unsupported. I will also be reaching out to upper management, including Cynthia Torres, to make her aware of this situation and to see whether changes can be made. As an autism mom, it is my responsibility to advocate not only for my son but for other individuals with autism and disabilities as well. No family should have to experience being dismissed or treated without understanding when simply requesting reasonable accommodations. My hope is that this feedback leads to better education, awareness, and compassion from staff so that all guests feel welcomed and respected.

I found that the small machines were much easier to win prizes (maybe by intention) and the larger machines had such cute prizes but loose grip strength in the claw making it harder to win the bigger, good prizes. So all of a sudden your tokens start vanishing quickly. I had 50 token credits and ended up with two medium sized plushies and 6 small items, which for me is on the smaller end of a haul. If you keep an eye on their calendar they will have interesting events here. My wife has seen comic book signings here. Last week they had Jeff Hays, famous for the "Dungeon Crawler Carl" audio books, who was on site to do a reading of "Absolute Batman #1" for Batman Day. On top of this, they have some nicely curated gems. My wife was able to get a curated stack of "Vampire Hunter" comics that was from the Buffy universe. Next door, they have a coffee shop with ample seating/table space. Saw a group of people playing D&D there. The summation of all these things is what makes this spot in Eagle Rock special.
