Close up of my delicious Godmother Italian Sandwich
    Mark G.

Today I went to the Montrose Arts & Craft Festival and after walking around I worked up my hunger. After finding a couple of places that were not dog friendly I finally found a dog friendly bar restaurant with a great outdoor patio. After looking over the menu I decided on their Godfather Italian Sandwich. This had salami, capicola, mozzarella, spicy giardiniera & olive mayo. I also ordered a couple of IPA beers. The sandwich was absolutely great and extremely delicious. The french roll was warm and crunchy and the cold cut meats were high quality and I could taste it. Sitting outside with my dog Frankie I absolutely enjoyed the sandwich and the whole ambience of the patio. I look forward returning many times. I saw that they also have a breakfast burrito. Maybe next time I'll give that a try. As for the service, it was great. About three different people checked on me to see how I was doing.

Excellent craft beer selection just a few steps down from Honolulu Ave. in the late afternoons the outdoor seating area is shaded and typically cool in the summer heat. The indoor area is small and if the weather is bad you could cozy up inside. The big pretzel is awesome, served warm with a side of cheese spread and mustard, it really pairs well with beer! The deviled eggs are great too. You don't find this dish in many places. Our typical go-to is the beet salad, good mix of greens, almonds, goat cheese, and roasted beets. It has a very chill vibe and a great place to relax with friends. They have an all day happy hour Monday through Thursday (if I remember correctly) Parking is anywhere in downtown Montrose.

Love this spot. Had no clue there were this many bars in La Crescenta. Went here during Covid and was blown away. Great vibes with a huge selection of unique beers and great finger food. Went back several times a week for months but a friend moved away so stopped. Took my parents and they love it as well.

i came here with my group for some dinner. the owner crystal was very sweet, helping us choose our beers and gave us a free bavarian pretzel that was delicious. i had the currywurst and it was pretty good. i also liked the corned beef sandwich. ambiance is really cute and cozy with outdoor seating and string lights all around

Great place and great people, the corned beef is amazing. As someone who is half Irish and loves corned beef this place always has it fresh and I recommend that or the sausage as anyone's first food purchase here.

The food was amazing (I had the tuna sandwich; so good!) and the outdoor dining in the afternoon was very much enjoyed! We had our little dog with us and service kindly brought her water. I have already recommended this place to two friends!

This is a new American & reasonable beers selections. Divy, Divy & Divy vibe & get away from hustle bustle Los Angeles. Friendly bar tender and you know " Thee Elbow Room", it's really cozy elbow room. " Thee Elbow Room" is nothing to do with Elbow Room in NoHo. Dogs friendly and if you into " new American cuisine" or on budget this is place to be. Just 15 mins away from North Hollywood or Downtown Los Angeles which considerable City of Glendale territory even closer to Pasadena though. Best Mellow bar could be in Glendale !

A big gem to hangout with friends and family! Amazing food and service. This place is located in a great spot decorated with fairy lights. I like to go there during their happy hours. They got a large draft beer list and 2 beers will be selected for happy hour of the day. You must get the giant pretzel and dip it in their dipping. Their tacos Tuesday is my favorite. A giant taco for $3. 10/10 everytime. Pardon my pictures

I've been here once and really enjoyed the quaint atmosphere, my sister and I went again after a hike. Cute little outdoor seating with tvs and plants surrounding you. My Pilsner was ice cold, hers not. The caprese salad and giant, I mean giant, pretzel hit the spot. Server was nice and fast and attentive to everyone. I kinda love this spot and it's on a nice quiet street you can browse around. A rare not so busy area that I hope stays the same

Cute outdoor patio that is well decorated and a great place to hang out with coworkers or friends. Their pretzels are HUGE and I loved how warm they were served. I do wish there were a better distinction between the beers on tap vs in cans on the menu, but overall great pub in Montrose.

They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

Why such a long hiatus? The tap list over the last months just hasn't had anything I've wanted to drink. It's been a lot of repeats of things I've had over and over or beers that just aren't appealing -- or, in many cases, both. The Glendale Tap used to have a fairly good turnover of new brews, but lately, it seems to be in a rut. Imports are pretty much never to be seen -- like everywhere else, sadly. Even out-of-state beers are rare. And on my most recent visit, at least half of the tap list was tapped out. IPAs and sours take up so much of the list -- stouts in the cooler months -- while styles like bitters, milds, (non-India) pale ales, brown ales, bocks, amber lagers, smoked beers, etc., get little to no space on the tap list. I still love the atmosphere of the Glendale Tap, and the bartenders there are the best. Prices are fair, and there's always something at least decent to drink. But I miss those fulsome tap lists with a variety of beer styles from far and wide. More and more, the Glendale Tap is becoming too much like every other beer bar. I know L.A. beer drinkers are extremely parochial with very limited tastes (basically IPA, IPA, IPA, and IPA, with some super sours thrown in), but I would hope the Glendale Tap could return to just a smidgen of its former excellence. Until then, I probably will be visiting biannually instead of bimonthly.

The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. Room at the bar, tables for 2, 4, or 6 - lucky us again - to sit along the large open wall-window that let in the evening breeze. If you want a tiki style cozier vibe, head upstairs to the lift area. Parking is a commodity, and there's no lot here. Street parking in front or on residential side streets. All around great experience! If I were a local, this would definitely be on high rotation!
