Beautiful view of downtown. You can make reservations on OpenTable. Parking is valet. Food is delicious: tomahawk steak, branzino whole fish, Brussels sprouts, the 50/50 mash is a must try with an entree

An iconic restaurant that sits on top of the mountain in beautiful Burbank. You come for the views and the food. It's so scenic, that it's really popular for holidays or special occasions. I even had my baby shower here and rented out a ballroom. But onto the food and service. The menu changes periodically, but they are consistent in providing a large variety of dishes to choose from. You can always count on a tender steak, delicious sides, etc. The bar is fabulous as well! The service is 10 out of 10, and again the establishment is so scenic that once you go, you put it on your list for the near future. *valet parking available!

Always great coming to Castaway. Been a customer for many many years. The new remodel and atmosphere is ver nice. Ordered the seafood towers (petite) that tower is enough for 4 people. Cesar salad was really good but the "croutons" did not have any flavor just crisp bread. Forgot our waiters name but he was awesome. Great service great food

Beautiful views overlooking Burbank and an instant vibe the moment you pull up, valet makes it super easy. We have been coming to Castaway for years. We came during lunch, brunch, and dinner time. Honestly, coming any of these times are amazing **What we ordered:** * Brussels sprouts * Seared salmon with mashed potatoes & capers * Prime hanger steak (8 oz) with fries Everything? Absolutely delicious. Service was top-notch attentive, friendly, and on point the whole time. Honestly, this place is a hidden gem. Can't believe it took me this long to finally write a review, but now the secret's out. Great quality all around. Perfect for a date night or a group brunch/dinner spot. Definitely coming back.

MISO-MARINATED BUTTERFISH, french onion toast, swordfish.

We had such a fun time! It was our first visit. The El Mariachi was so fun as well as delicious. The view was spectacular. But, honestly, our server made the entire night. Jonah has an outstanding personality and was so warm and professional. The speed at which the drink came out was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Jonah took our order and it was under 5 min when our drinks appeared. When we ordered a 2nd round, the drinks came while Jonah was still at our table. We had a cheese board that was great. And then we got the miso butterfish and swordfish. They were amazing. I left nothing on the plate. We also had the French onion toast. I would not get this again. My second drink was the Shiso Vain. It was ok, but I wouldn't get that one again either. It was such a great evening. We went all out so it wasn't cheap, but we'll definitely be back!

The view and ambience, lighting, seating was absolutely beautiful. Service was spectacular with Mario as our waiter. But, the food... My friend's ribs had a long blonde hair in it. My steak was ordered as medium rare. It came out Pittsburgh first. The second time it came out it was well done. The 3rd time they brought me the hot brick to cook my own lol

Great place! Great Service! Food was delicious and views are amazing. Good place to celebrate a birthday, hang out with friends or simply go on a date. Totally recommend making reservations ahead of time, place gets very busy here. My group had the brisket bowl, chicken protein bowl and the chicken and waffles plate; they were all made very well. Didn't try their mimosas but from the looks of it, seems like their flavors are pretty popular here.

This is just for BRUNCH. I have been here many times for dinner and it's always amazing but let me tell you, for a tired working mama with little time to herself the brunch was top notch. We started off with the bottomless mimosas and let me tell you- it's worth every penny. They have four different flavors to try and they are all very good. My favorite was the sunrise with watermelon and passion fruit. Next we had the ahi tuna tartar and then I had a steak Benedict. Perfectly cooked steak, Benedict was enough to share, my friend had the power bowl and we shared both. We ended up staying until 4:30pm it was so nice. We did not feel rushed and our server was very attentive. Kept seeing a red tailed hawk swoop near the restaurant which added such a nice touch. Go for the bennies, stay for the mimosas and company!

My cousin and niece are visiting from Sydney so we have been going places together and Castaway was a must. I have been here many times over the years but somehow never wrote a review on it. We came for lunch on a Monday and it wasn't busy. The hostess wasn't welcoming or friendly. It felt like she didn't want to be at work. Her attitude was unpleasant. Anyways let's move on .... Our waiter made up for it cause he was super helpful and attentive and friendly .... The ambiance here is beautiful. The view is breathtaking. On a clear da you can see the whole city and the mountains all around. The food is good. The brussel sprouts were amazing. Sooo good. My niece loved the burger she ordered and my cousin enjoyed her mushroom pappardelle. I ordered the steak and frites. It was ok. Will I order it again ? Probably not. ... overall our lunch was amazing. My guests loved the ambiance and the food. So I'm happy we came here for lunch. ...

Venue was lovely and super busy with several events going on but valet parking was quick. We had an early dinner after a show at the Pantages. 5:30 meant the sun was directly shining on the patio so seating was tricky trying to avoid the direct sun so next time we would go a little later as by 6PM it had moved enough. The only other meh was the tables for two on the patio are tiny and we are not larger people; also it was spaced tight to the tables next to it but we did move it out a bit more 9several inches) and made it work. Patio was much less noisy than the inside and music was a bit loud but since we were so close to each other other it worked except the table we were next to were trying to talk louder than the music so we were a part of that conversation. Our server was amazing and was knowledgeable about the food and wine. When our French Soup toast was brought out by a runner who didn't pour the accompanying sauce around it our server was aghast and quickly poured the sauce which made it delicious. The calamari appetizer was crisp and delicious with fried peppers and a hot sauce remoulade. The cheese cornbread is sooo good. Our cocktails were fresh and perfect. The wine list is substantial and not overly priced. We had the whole roasted branzino with a mash and fennel/arugula salad and the Zinfandel braised short rib over a garlic cream corn. Both were delicious and not overly salted. We ended with the Espresso lava cake and it was perfect with the cookies/cream ice cream and chocolate wafer dust. I am not a dessert person but ate my portion and wanted more. All staff were impressive and coordinated. We will definitely go back but maybe not on a busy Saturday evening. The bar is beautiful and easily accessible for a drink with cheese and charcuterie. Those tiny little round bistro tables for two need to go though.

Extremely mid and overpriced. Complimentary Jalapeño Corn Bread was good. $40 for a dry and unseasoned chicken & very salty Mac and cheese and plain tasting "garlic" fries. $45 for a tiny piece of Wagyu with no sides or barely any sauces. They did bring out a small piece of cake for a special occasion which was nice, but the cake itself was just fine. (Funfetti). Even though we had $40 of gift cards, with tip and tax, the meal was still somehow $80 + an unavoidable $11 valet. The service was great, very sweet server, and ambience was okay (though the more inner tables on the balcony definitely didn't have the nice view), but the food really was very not worth the cost, or anything special regardless.

I celebrated my birthday at Castaway, and overall it was a lovely experience with decent food and a gorgeous view. They offer valet for $11. We arrived with a reservation and were seated almost immediately. There is an option to pay an additional fee to select seating, but we opted out. Luckily, we were still placed by the edge of the patio, overlooking the beautiful sunset. As night fell, the patio lights overlooking the distant city skyline, framed by silhouettes of palm trees, created a magical evening dining experience. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet comfortable, with many guests celebrating special occasions, on dates, or enjoying a night out with friends. Our server was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We ordered the calamari, crispy brussel sprouts, and dry-aged angus ribeye with a side of asparagus, pairing with a cocktail and glass of wine. The meal began with a complimentary cornbread, which was already dense and seasoned, so I didn't feel the bread needed the extra flavoring of special butter and salt. While the food was tasty, it leaned on the heavier, greasier side, which left us quite thirsty throughout the meal. That said, the magnificent view and ambiance made up for the mid-tier food. To end the meal, they gave a complimentary slice of cake, which was thoughtful. Overall, this makes a great spot for celebrating a special occasion, especially if you're looking for a spectacular view, though the food itself is rather ordinary.

Wanted to like you Castaways! Food just fell very short. Ordered tomohawk, dry aged ribeye and pichana steaks and all 3 were dry and worst both the tomahawk and ribeye were tough. Steak knives were put to work! Kids loved the mac and cheese and fries which were the only positives. If you charging what you're charging please make sure you bring an epic steak to the table.

    No, it is not

Hi do we have to pay to enter on top of the food we eat or?

It’s a restaurant so you don’t pay to enter, but valet isn’t free.

Hello good evening I was wondering if anyone knows can I bring balloons and decorations in for a birthday dinner? I would appreciate any response I tried calling the restaurant but they seem to be busy tonight!

Six of my friends had a birthday party there for me and they brought balloons and no trouble at all.

    How much is Corkage fee?

Not sure about corkage fee. Call them for an answer. I've never brought my own wine to Castaway because their wine prices are pretty good.

Can you order from the dinner menu during lunch hours?

I want to say no, but they might be able to make it happen!

What's up with parking? Is there parking? Where is it located? How much is it to park? Thank you.

There is valet parking at the entrance starts at $15. There is another lot, but you must tell the valet that you want to park your own car.

    Yes it absolutely is!

Is there a kids menu available?

There isn't really a kids menu, but the staff is always really happy to accomodate you if you have a specific need. I've found them to be really helpful and kind. But this is a very 'grown-up' place for drinks, lunch and dinner.

Are brunches still available on weekends currently?

Yes -- both Saturday and Sunday! Great bottomless mimosas! Ask fir server Kevin he is super-- tell him Martha & Richard recommended him!

Do they have tvs for football?

I fell in love before i even saw the menu. Now don't even get me started on that world class water. Best water I've ever consumed. Perfectly cold and delectably drinkable. They have a whole freaking sign for their sauces and dips. I'm in love. I got a Shirley temple and if i could marry a place instead of a person, the Shirley temple would be my reason. It was FANTASTIC. Our server, Isaiah, was absolutely amazing and on top of things, refilling our water before we even hit half glass. Not to mention his energy and vibe was so welcoming and fun. We got the PuPu platter for two, came out within minutes, I could spend the rest of my life eating that alone. Isaiah recommended his favorite sauces, Garlic Chive and Chipotle Citrus, they were amazing. We got the shrimp and lobster roll, I officially entered heaven. The Isles of Club sandwich was the finishing touch that had me laughing from joy. Near the end of our dining we meant Max, another server, who is absolutely fantastic, brought us everything we needed, boxes, sauce containers, bags, to-go dessert. His energy was also amazing and super fun. Broken Compass Tiki is a pirate themed tiki bar in Burbank…read more They don't having a parking lot, but it was very easy to find street parking just around the corner on a Sunday afternoon. The front of the building is a little vaguely marked, and the entrance has speakeasy vibes, which was a surprise. Upon walking in the front door, there is some tiki décor and a small counter in the rear. I remember thinking to myself "what the heck, this is it?". I checked in at the host stand on the left, and was handed me a boarding pass. She then led us through a hidden door behind what looked like a shipping crate. We were now in the real Broken Compass. The interior is a good size. The two-sided bar seats around a dozen. There is a lounge side of the bar that has two large booths along the wall, and another area with comfortable looking couches and lounge chairs. The main dining room has some tiki hut booths, and two sections of tables with half booth and half chair. The décor is pretty extensive with a good mix of pirate, nautical, and tiki themes. There is a lot of bamboo, thatch, rope, cargo netting, skulls and skeletons, port holes, octopus tentacles, jellyfish, tiki lights, and more. The ceiling is dark with various nautical and pirate markings, and even tied up ship sails overhead. The tiki hut booths have the parrots from the enchanted tiki room above them. Even the two restrooms are nautical themed, with beach and marine sounds playing. There is a lot of great décor to look at. We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy yet. By the time we left a few hours later, it was starting to get busy. We decided to sit at the bar. We started out with the buffalo cauliflower ($14) for an afternoon snack. The serving size was generous, and the buffalo sauce had a good tang. It was served with some sauces, and was surprisingly filling. A nice feature of the cocktail menu is that each drink displays one to three compass stars to indicate the strength of the drink. Their cocktails use a great variety of liquors including ones you don't often see. Many of the ingredients are made in-house. I started out with Chupacabra's Vacation (Demerara Rum, Jamacian Rum, Pomegranate Reduction, Cinnamon, Lime Juice, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $17). It is served with a flaming lime on top and a little fire show. It was balanced with a light booziness, some light pomegranate flavor, and a cinnamon sprinkle on top. She started out with the Bittersweet Paradise (Jamacian Rum, White Rum, Campari, Passionfruit Syrup, Lemon, Lime, Pineapple, two-star boozy rank, $18). It didn't drink boozy at all, and was passion fruit forward, with light bitterness. My second cocktail was the Bermuda Dune Buggy (Gin, Overproof Rum, Kumquat Liqueur, Cassis, Orange, Lime, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $18). It had a very unique garnish of a Chartreuse infused gummy which was delicious. The drink was nicely balanced, and didn't really drink boozy even with overproof rum in it. They have a rotating monthly cocktail and she tried the Tropic Like It's Hot (Coconut Washed Lemongrass Infused Rum, Mango, Lemon, Coconut Water, Amaro, $17) which was created by one of our bartenders Daniel. It was served in a Spam can and was light and refreshing with a nice pop of fruit at the start, and a very nice coconut flavor. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and had great conversation with our bartenders Daniel and Monica. They also provided excellent service. Broken Compass supports payment with the InKind app which gives you 20% back (10% on Friday and Saturday) in InKind cash. We had a really great time here, and the drinks, food, décor, and atmosphere were excellent. I purchased a Hork (Horse-shaRK) mug for $50 to bring home as a souvenir. We would definitely return again when in the area.

We got the Sweet Temptation French toast, the Very Berry French toast, and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. Parking was easy to find (street parking) and we didn't have to wait long for our table. The staff are all very friendly! We asked our waiter for suggestions and he was very helpful. Two of us were feeing sweet, one was feeling savory, and there were plenty of options on the menu. I got the Sweet Temptation French toast. This was delicious. The Dulce de Lèche was rich, but balanced out with the acidity from the strawberries. The French toast was exactly as you would imagine, cooked well and had a nice flavor. The French toast came with a side of eggs, meat, and potatoes. I chose over medium eggs, bacon, and hash browns. My eggs were cooked right, the bacon was crispy without being brittle, and the hash browns were perfect. Definitely worth it! My friends got the Very Berry French toast and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. They both said theirs were delicious as well. The ambience of the restaurant is clean and nice. There's seating indoors and outdoors, we chose to eat inside. The waiter checked on us a few times to make sure we were still doing okay, and we never felt rushed. Overall, I would definitely recommend Cafe De Olla. I'll be back to try their other menu items (:

We've been doing that for a few years now, so that should tell you something right there. Our order is fairly consistent: we each start with a mimosa that comes in a highball glass, so one is usually all we need. Next, we share an order of kimchi biscuits (you get two). So delicious! Packed full of kimchi, bacon and cheddar cheese, it's a nice combo of flavors that play well together. The interior is usually soft and warm, with a nice crunchy crust. Top that with a smatter of the cinnamon butter that it comes with...yum! Our choice of entree varies, anything from avocado toast, to their kale and seaweed salad or any of their other selections they have from their brunch/lunch menu. On this outing, my friend and I both opted for the bibimbap. I opted for the pork bulgogi while my friend got the chicken version. It comes with a generous amount of carrots, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms and bean sprouts, and is topped with a runny, sunny side up egg that serves as an excellent sauce when you mix everything together, along with the gochujang sauce. We upgraded and got it with brown rice in the hot stone bowl. Worth it! The regular bibimbap is good, but when you mix in the crunchy crust that comes from the bottom of the stone bowl, you get an additional texture that makes the dish really stand out. The flavors already come together nicely, and the crunchy bits just enhance the experience. For dessert, we like to share the "lemon pie", which is actually a scoop of lemon gelato that comes in a glass that also includes graham crackers, topped with toasted marshmallows. A nice way to end the meal. And the staff! We usually either have Justin or Ann as our server, but everyone there is super friendly and helpful. They are consistently good at checking up on you and making sure you have everything you need. Just another 5 star reason of why we keep coming back!

The servers brought out water dishes and treats on a silver tray for the dogs- true service! I missed happy hour, but tried a themed cocktail, the onion rings, and the truffle burger. That says a lot about the staff. Our server, she was a young lady, was on top of everything and really made our time here enjoyable. I came here for happy hour on a Tuesday was surprised to find out they do $2 tacos and $5 margaritas. Let me tell you, the tacos are delicious and the margaritas are STRONG. It's a hell of a good time. I really enjoyed the chicken taco and carne asada taco. The meats were juicy and very flavorful. I also ordered their nachos, chili cheese fries and bread pudding. The nachos were made perfectly with the chips being thin and crispy. They used a couple different cheeses and the jalapeños were a nice touch. Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and gooey in the inside. Morrisons is definitely a fun place to be. Perfect to enjoy happy hour, catch the games on, and hang out friends. They have plenty of seating inside and outdoor with heat lamps. They are dog and kid friendly as well
