It was so crispy and had this cheesy savory sauce on the bottom that I scraped off the plate. I wanted to spend my birthday at a rooftop restaurant that was more on the casual side. After attending a Yelp event here when they first opened last summer, I thought this would be the perfect place. WRONG!!!! They use "Open Table" to make reservations where they specifically ask if it's a "Special Occasion" as well as for any requests. WHY BOTHER??? This place did not even acknowledge any of my requests. When we arrived, Emma, the hostess was so busy talking to a female server that she completely ignored us. That already took my review down a star. After waiting a few minutes, I had to politely say "HELLO," in order to get her attention. BTW - no apology was given! She then sat us at a table in the middle of the place and told me that no other tables were available with a view only by the bar (which was extremely LOUD!) That was complete BS since after we sat she managed to sit a few other couples at the long table I requested!!! Gets better! We sit down next to a couple of women with one saying the "F Bomb" every other word!" I actually started counting her! She was up to 13 F bombs every 5 minutes... We sat for at least 10 minutes, ignored again until I asked Emma as she walked by if we had a server. 5 minutes later our server Alejandro, with NO personality, or as my mother would say, " Dead From The Neck Up," came to our table. We ordered drinks which finally came when our appies came! The menu is limited but we did enjoy the beet salad and the "Hand Pressed Tostones." We also shared a burger for $28! To make a very bad experience here even worse, my birthday was NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED! NO happy birthday, no cake, no nothing! OSA Rooftop is THAT spot!! The views are absolutely incredible, especially during golden hour. I was definitely impressed by the entire atmosphere, especially the indoor/outdoor set up. Perfection. The service and food went hand and hand. The hostess and waitress broke down each flavor and shared their favorite menu items making it easy to choose the right dish. My faves were the Tuna tartare, Spiced nuts, Steak frites and all the cocktails. *Bonus: The Gelato was soo yummy and I am definitely getting the Olive Oil cake on my next visit. But the cauliflower was the stand out with a deliciously creamy texture and packed with flavor. Osa Rooftop feels VERY LA - a busy hotel rooftop restaurant that's clearly a favorite for people who work in the area and desperately need a drink after clocking out. Great views of the mountains and incredibly quick service. We came in at 7 and were out with some time to spare before our show started at the Playhouse at 8. The seasonal cocktails my girlfriend and I had weren't the best -- I had the spritz which was a tad too tart for my liking and my friend got the beet cocktail and then complained that it was too earthy. Not the restaurant's fault because HELLO it is made with beet what did you expect? The steak frites were pretty great, my only note is that it sat in a bit too much olive oil on the plate and made some of the frites taste regrettably oily. Perfectly cooked piece of meat though. The burger looked really good too. This big group of big men had the table behind us and were standing the whole time like Neanderthals! This is the perfect spot for drinks with your girls. We were on the hunt for a casual rooftop bar, and I'm so glad we ended up here. The place is absolutely dreamy. It's located on top of a hotel with the prettiest outdoor seating. The bar overlooks the mountains, and the view alone is gorgeous and perfect! The waitstaff was friendly, kind, and genuinely helpful -- especially appreciated since I have some kind of lifelong curse where I spill things on light-colored shirts at important moments. Thank you for the soda water offer before I could even possibly ask . The curated menu for the night was spot on. Almost everything was excellent and cooked perfectly. The only thing we didn't love was the vinegar-heavy marinade on the oysters -- a little too sour for us. And honestly, when I saw someone at a nearby table make that face after trying one, I knew I wasn't alone. But aside from that? The steak, the fish, the pasta, the tuna tartare, the artichokes -- yum, yum, yum. We were blown away and pleasantly surprised. A cute aesthetic rooftop with such a cute private entrance to go up. By private I mean you don't have to go through the actual hotel to get to the rooftop. Drinks were well made and start around $18 for the cocktails; but they don't have many of their own curated cocktails. But I do think they have a full bar so they should be able to make what you want. For food we ordered a few different appetizers; carpaccio was definitely a 10/10 with a yummy citrus sauce and perfect potato chips, truffle string fries were also a hit with a perfect balance of truffle and garlic, tuna appetizer was okay, it could have more flavor or at least some salt. Cesar salad was also yummy, there cesar here has cappers which I loved. For entrees we had steak frittes. Steak was small for what I was expecting and they charge an upgrade for truffle fries or Brussels sprouts. Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and had a savory citrus sweet glaze with almonds. Overall food was great. Service was decent, although I would have appreciated for our server to check in on how food was tasting after things came out. We didn't see him other than taking our order, running our drinks, and brining the check. Other than that the food runner was more helpful. Cheers to her! Came by on Monday night without a reservation for a party of 6 and was seated fairly quickly. The aesthetics looked so nice. The weather was great, the outdoor seating was superb and the black and white movie added a nice touch to the experience. There was a football game on that was playing by the bar so my friends seemed to have appreciated that haha. Sadly, the food and drinks were not as great as the aesthetics. The drinks were okay given the price. I ordered the Rosedena and I LOVED the floral taste. It was so nice and light. Our table ordered the truffle fries and tostones which were pretty good. Food - 4/5 - We got drinks at the bar as well as some small plates to share. The small plates we chose were the tuna tartare and crispy Brussels sprouts. I ordered the mocktail - Merry Roses, and my friends tried a cocktail from the menu, Drop the Beet and the Cucumber Vesper. Mocktails are $15 per drink and the cocktails were $18 per drink. Wine prices vary, per glass or by the bottle. Starting with the drinks, I found the Merry Roses to taste like grapefruit sparkling water with a hint more of grapefruit and lemon. In my opinion it was not worth $15. I should have ordered a mocktail version of something else instead. It was alright as a drink but it was kind of underwhelming. The Cucumber Vesper was cucumber, gin and vodka, which was exactly as it sounds. The Drop the Beet was a bit tart with tequila, I would wish it was sweeter if I ordered it but that is my personal preference. Overall, the drinks were alright but I do see room for improvement in terms of recipes or expanding their signature menu. As for food, both dishes were small plates and great for sharing. The tuna tartare was fresh and paired well with the avocado. The fried nori it came with was a bit flimsy, possibly due to the humidity in the air as we are on the rooftop, I wish it had a little bit more crisp crunch by having some tempura batter on it. At least that's how I've had it in the past at other establishments or at home, I find it helps with the structural integrity of the crisp to eat with the tuna. Besides that, I really liked it. The Brussels sprouts were my favourite though. I loved the dressing and how crisp the leaves were. I would definitely recommend at least getting the brussels sprouts if you chose anything from the small plate menu. Price - $$$ - I think everything is slightly overpriced compared to what you would expect for what the item is, but it is due to the atmosphere and ambiance. It's more elevated and chic and you are paying for the vibes mostly. Service - 5/5 - The service here was amazing, every server, host and bartender where super friendly. I felt welcomed and they made our experience here very sweet. Ambiance - 5/5 - The view from this rooftop is so cute and I love the decor. I think the vibes here are made by this chic ambiance. Omg I had such a wonderful experience here. I had Osa Rooftop bookmarked after seeing a Yelp event here and thanks to Nikki B for the reminder! I was in the area with my hubby and fur baby and wanted a place to have dinner. We came around 5pm on Friday and they still had open seating without needed reservations. Our server, Aileen, took such amazing care of us. She was so bubbly, gave excellent recommendations and checked on us often. I started with the Vesper Cucumber, which was their twist on a martini of Mulholland gin and vodka, California and French vermouths with fresh cucumber for a bright, soothing finish. He sipped on the Skylark Italian Pilsner. They paired really well with the food we got. We started with the marinated olives stuffed with ricotta and Calabrian chile. Wished the olives had a little more kick from the Calabrian chile. However, the other two items we had sent us: The Burrata Salad ($21) usually with peach, but persimmons for the season, burrata cheese, green garlic chimichurri, thyme breadcrumb and charred broccolini. It was bigger than expected and was plenty for 2+! Zesty with lemon juices, crispy with herbed bread crumbs and so flavorful! This was a surprising dish, along with the next. Grilled Swordfish ($36) Creamy yellow corn, salsa criolla, ajo verde - okay, I am not usually a fan of swordfish because it tends to be tough and dry, but this steak was tender, cooked perfectly and the corn cream and ajo verde sauces made this dish absolutely heavenly. The thinly sliced onions and parsley on top served as great garnishes to the fish too. Because this is a rooftop restaurant, they had rolled up blankets and heat lamps to keep people warm. It's also dog friendly and they gave our pup plenty of love while she hung out. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the views but hope to catch them next time before sunset. So me and my friend had been out all morning so we were starving by the time we got here and this place rlly hit the spot I think. Ambience was rlly cute we got a bit lost in the parking and went up the wrong staircase but when we finally found it the place did not dissapoint. We got seated right by the rooftop view which was pretty cute not like an amazing view but it was pretty nice. The lemonade was good and refreshing and the truffle fries were amazzzzing so so good. Waiter was really nice too he even gave us a free ice cream at the end so great service overall. Caesar salad looked good but the dressing wasn't really that flavorful I feel like some lemon and maybe more garlic would give it more of a Caesar salad flavor cuz it was just ok. I really really dislike giving anything less than 5 stars. But let's be clear - this is about the food, the Dine LA menu and my personal experience of OSA last Friday evening. The service we got from Emmanuel was 5 stars, no doubt. If we were to come back, it would be solely because of him and his can-do attitude. There is no question about the excellence of his service. I knew from the moment the hostess seated us that I was going to have issues. She placed us at a table directly across the hostess' lectern (not podium!) and the problem with this location is that it is the intersection of where it is busiest. Busboys and servers walking to and from the kitchen compounded by the crowding of guests around the hostess (and therefore right by me) made for stressful vibes. The energy I felt was so frantic that I could even literally feel the vibrations of people walking briskly behind me (the floor was reverberating all this activity) or talking loudly right behind my chair. I beg management to try and sit where I did and have a meal - see if you can understand why I was in fight or flight the whole time. It was not relaxing at all. Your rooftop is supposed to feel zen and carefree. I did not feel either. If I was sat elsewhere, my experience would've been wildly different. As for the Dine LA menu, it was disappointing because it was obvious that they provided the extra dishes (cauliflower and pasta) to justify charging $65. I'll admit that the cauliflower was tasty but was it necessary? The pasta was just a big plate of fusilli with vodka sauce slapped on top. There wasn't that much sauce and the meager sauce given didn't even adhere to the pasta. It seemed like this dish was added as an afterthought. If they just took out both cauliflower and pasta and focused on maybe giving a bigger portion of the fish appetizers and the dessert, they could've still easily charged $65 and people would've found it to be of good value. Would adding a little more protein to the fish appetizers or maybe making the dessert a little more substantial (and taking away the unnecessary filler courses) hurt the bottom line? Don't get me wrong - the first appetizers (crudo and tuna tartare) were FANTASTIC. Tasty AF and memorable. Loved the dressing on the crudo. And the avocado puree which formed the base of the tuna tartare was perfection. The mains were lovely as well - lamb and steak frites. This portion of the dinner along with Emmanuel's wonderful service is what made us happy. They ran out of the dessert (chocolate mousse) so they asked us if we instead wanted the vanilla gelato or the dulce de Leche cake. The ice cream was nothing special. And the dulce de Leche cake was such a tiny portion - look at the photo for reference: it was literally the size of my teaspoon. We usually judge a restaurant by its dine LA menu to ascertain if we want to come back. Because of our experience, I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon. It opened last year I think, so maybe after a few years of being in business they'll have ironed out these issues and made needed improvements. We had a reservation for five for brunch and were lucky to have perfect weather. The menu was fairly limited, roasted beets were unavailable, and peaches had been swapped for mandarin oranges since they're out of season. We shared: Crispy Brussels Sprouts Wagyu & Pork Meatballs Beet Carpaccio Hand-Pressed Tostones Mandarin Orange Burrata Salad Steak Frites and a few of us tried the Triple Cali Spritz. Unfortunately, one of our drinks came with a dead bug in it--thankfully my friend spotted it before drinking, and they replaced it maybe finally 10 minutes later. The tostones were the highlight of our meal: crispy fried plantains served with flavorful black bean dip and guacamole. However, the rest of the food was quite bland, and the burrata salad was especially disappointing, it had barely a spoonful of burrata. Service was also very slow. We ordered the raspberry cheesecake for dessert per our server's recommendation, but what arrived was a plain cheesecake with caramel drizzle instead. To make things even more awkward, the manager brought us large serving spoons to eat it with. By the time our meal ended, we had been there for over 2.5 hours. One final note: the unisex restrooms each have their own sink but no soap inside. The communal soap & sink station outside is shared, which raises hygiene concerns since guests have to touch the door before washing up. I went to OSA Rooftop for Dine LA, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The absolute highlight was the yellowtail crudo-it was fresh, flavorful, and easily the best thing we ate. However, the rest of the meal didn't quite live up to that start; my steak was incredibly salty, and both the pasta and dessert were just "eh" and felt pretty forgettable. Stopped by on Friday, 10/17/25 for the first time. Boyfriend and I were trying to kill some time before our 8pm show at the Pasadena Playhouse. Stumbled on this place and learned that this is a relatively new hotel and a new rooftop place! Ordered the followng: - 1 AudioGraph Beer = $12 - 1 Swift Relief Cocktail = $18 SUBTOTAL = $30 TAX = $3.15 OVERALL TOTAL = $33.15 I will rate this place 4/5 as we didn't have much time to dine in and absorb our experience (we were in a time crunch). Lookout Granville, there's a new rooftop restaurant in town. Situated on top of the AC Hotel, OSA offers a panoramic view of the SGV Mountains and the opportunity to catch a stunning sunset in the evening. I was fortunate to grab a reservation on a Friday night to celebrate my "brother's" birthday. The open-air terrace gets its charm from a desert-inspired color scheme and an Olive tree in the center. The menu features seasonal coastal Baja inspired dishes sprinkled with a bit of Cali flair. The cocktails are equally creative featuring ingredients such as beet juice & nopales. Our server was Delaiah and she was the best! Friendly & attentive the entire evening. (The two hosts that were working the night of 9/19 were also great too.) Our first round of cocktails were: Swift Relief & Triple Cali Spritz. Both were light & refreshing - perfect for the summer evening. For our second round we got Drop the Beet & Ol' Californica. I was skeptical of Drop the Beet because of the beet juice but I didn't notice it. It was a tasty twist on a margarita. The Ol' Californica was a riff on an Old Fashioned featuring a toasted walnut infused bourbon. It was exceptionally smooth. We decided to share several dishes: Roasted Beets, Peach Burrata Salad, & Truffle Shoestring Fries. Everything was absolutely delicious! The roasted beets were al dente and paired well with the whipped goat cheese. The Peach Burrata Salad featured sliced fresh peaches with charred broccolini with a green chimichurri and a creamy burrata cheese. It was exceptionally good. The shoestring fries were tossed in rosemary salt, truffle oil, & garlic. They were dangerously addicting. Just before sunset a live jazz ensemble started to perform. My brother and I soaked in the ambience and the view. What made the night even more special was Delaiah treating my brother to a birthday ice cream so he could make a wish. Thank you Deliaiah! From the moment you step up to the rooftop, the views take your breath away. This place has got what feels like the best view in Pasadena. Now the food: seriously, really, really good. Every dish we tried was vibrant and thoughtful. The service was warm, we had Alene. She was lovely. The ambiance relaxed but elevated, and the whole setting feels like it was made for lingering over a final cocktail as the lights of the city come alive below you. Nice rooftop option in Pasadena (aside from Granville) Located inside the AC Hotel , so make your way in and head up to the 6th floor. Nice chill ambiance once there. Great views of the Pasadena mountains. We didn't make any reservations and got there right when they opened at 4pm. We were told we only had till 6 before a reservation would take our spot. So fyi- better to make a reservation before hand to secure your spot. They were quiet busy and the place filled up fast. Our server Dylan was great! Friendly and made some great recommendations for food and drink. For our drinks we went with - Cactus cooler Drop the Beet Both tasty and tequila based, but you can get with mezcal if you prefer. Never had a beet cocktail before but it was surprisingly good. For food we ate light - shoestring fries and salmon crudo. The fries were plenty and the salmon tasty with that chili crisp. YUM YUM. Osa Rooftop Bar is such a great addition to Pasadena and SGV. The ambiance is the standout -- it's rare to find a rooftop bar in this area, and the mountain views at sunset are beautiful. They even project black and white films on the building next door, which really adds to the overall vibe. The cocktails highlight seasonal, fresh ingredients. My friend enjoyed the orange wine, and I ordered the Cactus Cooler with tequila instead of mezcal, which was refreshing. I'd love to see a few more fruit-forward cocktail options as we head into spring. Food-wise, the biggest surprises were my favorites. The crispy brussels sprouts were some of the best I've had, and the charred chicken tacos were super flavorful with a crispy, cheesy layer we loved. The steak frites had great fries, though the steak was slightly overcooked and the chimichurri a bit salty. The persimmon burrata salad and Caesar salad were solid, but not must-orders. I'd still love to come back and try more items. Service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. They even offered blankets and have heat lamps once it cooled down. Overall, a great spot for a date night or night out with friends. Parking is street parking or a paid lot behind Urth Caffé. Service was amazing. The table was amazing. unfortunately, the food was mediocre. I really wanted to love my experience here, but unfortunately the food took away from the cool atmosphere.
