Parking: Underground parking shared with other businesses. It's pretty big and easy. Don't forget your validation! Shout out to Frederic! This is the third time that my gf and I have celebrated our anniversary here. It has also always been Frederic to wait on us each time. Not much to say but service has always been above and beyond for us and I love eating here. Alexanders is special for us because it's the time we spend the most eating what we like. Usually we order the A5 kagoshima special, but it was a 20oz which was way too big for us. We opted for a cut of the Miyazaki and Sanuki. They were absolutely delicious. When you've had as much A5 wagyu as you wanted, you know that the small cuts have to be insanely delicious to be meaningful. Every bite was extremely juicy and tasty. The salt plate is always one of the highlights of the night and each one makes the flavour of the meat pop out. Side dishes are also always perfect. They have my favourite mash and also some of the best wagyu fried rice I've ever had. Their bread plate is also the best appetizer, the three butters they bring out always taste fantastic. Alexanders is the go-to anniversary restaurant for a reason and it has always been with every dollar. I honestly wish I could eat here more often but it's always good to save it for a special occasion. Bonus points for Frederic remembering us and our usual orders. It's nice to have history with a place and being remembered. See you guys again!

This is a long overdue review of many meals at Alexander's. We try to dine a few times a year and if budget allowed would probably be here monthly. I've never had something that wasn't top tier and always try to experience something new. We always get the hamachi shots and Wagyu rice. I've had multiple different steaks and every cut has been phenomenal. The ambience and service are an elevated high end feel on par with the food quality and pricing. You get your moneys worth all around here.

My wife and I were looking for a romantic spot to celebrate her birthday and Alexander's Steakhouse was atop of the list. First impressions is that the restaurant is extremely spacious. It's quite the exhibit with the amount of space there is. We were seated immediately as we had a reservation before hand. Another note is that the restaurant is quite clean and atmosphere is very romantic, such a nice start. Parking - Free 90 minute validation for a underground parking lot right by Alexander's Steakhouse. To start, my wife was provided with a birthday card, it was a nice surprise and a very nice gesture. After exploring the menu for a bit, we decided on the Korean Fried Cauliflower, Fried Rice, and the T Bone Steak (22 oz), all to share. Our staff, Jayce, who was absolutely phenomenal, handed us complimentary bread and a watermelon bite (palette cleanser) before our orders arrived, a wonderful gesture as the breads came with various spreads that were super delicious. All bite size and very savory. The fried rice was very delicious, although it was a bit salty, it complimented the Fried Cauliflower dish we got. The sweet bite from the cauliflower mix with the fried rice created a nice sweet and savory taste. Overall, two wonderful dishes that I highly recommend, very delicious. Star of the show of course, is the T bone steak (medium rare, 22 oz) wow this was amazing. You can have the steak come out with the pieces already sliced off the bone, which we decided to. It was just super soft and melts in your mouth instantly. Each bite was so delicious and it was very cooked, would definitely get this again. After the meal, Jayce brought out a complimentary birthday dessert for my lovely wife, it was a absolute surprise and it was such a grand gesture. Very happy with this as we were able to have extra celebrations. Seem like every table gets handed a cotton candy stand after the meal, which was surprising, but it was my first time trying cotton candy and it was pretty tasty, melts instantly. Overall, I was very impressed with the high quality food, each bite of every dish was just astonishing to be honest. I've never had such high quality food before so this was a exceptional experience. On top of this, service was amazing, and a huge props to our server, Jayce, who made my wife's birthday dinner amazing. Will certainly be back to try other menu items and to celebrate special occasions. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would give infinite stars.

Ok, ok....... So this experience has now set the new standard for 5 star food experiences for us. Every single dish, cocktail and desert was top shelf. Cocktails: Vodka Daisy, the Omakase and the high castle we highly recommend. The half dozen oysters in yuzu-apple-mignonette was the perfect pairing. No need for horse radish or Tabasco! The popcorn crab was so unexpectedly delicious! We had the F1 Australian filet and bone in rib eye. Best cuts of meats ever, over the top better than anything in Vegas too. The sauces amazing, recommend the Shiso Bearnaise. Top 3 sides for us were the mushrooms, pork belly fried rice and the Kenneth fries, as fry fans, the best fries ever! The complimentary watermelon cotton candy was so good! We tried the Pina Coloda Pavlova deliciously paired pineapple compot, coconut crumble and more. Service is truly 5 star, atmosphere is that of a fine dining steak house and we recommend dressing up to dine, it's that good.

I have to say I was a little disappointed, mainly because the steak wasn't what I expected. While it was cooked perfectly medium-rare, it was fattier and chewier than I prefer. On the other hand, the Goddess Salad was a pleasant surprise--absolutely delicious! It was fresh, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite dishes of the evening. The yuzu cheesecake was divine and the perfect way to end the meal. The venue itself is beautiful and makes a great place for a celebration. We had 18 people, and the private room fit our group perfectly. Parking validation appears to cover only about 1 1/2 hours, so be prepared to pay for additional parking if you stay longer. Service started off strong, but toward the end of the evening it slipped a bit. We requested napkins twice and never received them. For a highly rated steakhouse, it's the small details like that that make a difference. Overall, it's a lovely restaurant for special occasions. If I return, I would probably order the filet mignon instead. The atmosphere, salad, and dessert were definitely highlights of the experience.

There's street and structure parking nearby. Came on a weekday night. The staff were well dressed. The dining area appeared clean. Really enjoyed the squid ink bread. Got the Caesar Salad, Filet Mignon, and Yuzu Cheesecake. The Caesar Salad was really delicious. Got the Filet Mignon medium rare and thought it was alright. Was not a fan of the mashed potatoes. The Yuzu Cheesecake was really good. Would return for a special occasion.

2025 Alexanders! Heard good things about this pasadena restaurant from friends. They were pretty on point with how it is. It's aite but personally I'm not planning on going back unless its a special event. It's Pasadena so you will have to pay for parking and expect to walk unless you take a ride share. We took a Lyft because we wanted to enjoy a couple of drinks. Make an appointment for dinner ahead and expect them to be late to serve you at your reservation time by twenty minutes or hopefully less. Do not expect the hosts to be too friendly either. Luckily you can wait and have a drink at the bar while you wait for them to have your table set up. If you want better service and dont mind sharing the bar with strangers i would suggest to do that. Service overall was not bad! The food came out within the hour and the workers made their rounds around checking up [or one person splashing water on my clothes.] Most of the food was decent. Dont get the fried rice or the oysters. Inside is nice and appears clean. Found it funny & cool they have cotton candy as dessert. We were too full from the food so didnt get to enjoy it. THANK YOU STEVEN FOR YOUR SERVICE! Thank you Remington for your kindness and good vibes. I really appreciate that. Fabian good man. Lawrence please improve your behavior. I dont think other customers would appreciate water being splashed on them when you are refilling a cup. I hope I'm the only one. Thank you for stopping after i kept smiling and being polite to you.

I celebrated an absolutely wonderful birthday here thanks to my husband. With a reservation, we were seated right away at a spacious table, which had a small birthday card for me. Our server, Jayce, was phenomenal. After putting in our order, some warm complimentary bread with 3 various spreads were brought out for us. The breads were fantastic and a great start to the rest of our dinner. We were then surprised with small, refreshing watermelon bites to cleanse our palettes. Our steak was definitely the star of the night. We requested it to be cooked medium rare and it came out perfectly. It tasted very flavorful, juicy, and tender. On the side, we shared some fried rice and Korean fried cauliflower. I was surprised at how delicious the fried rice was. You can tell that it is elevated, not your basic fried rice. As for the cauliflower, they were hot, crispy, and only mildly spicy - absolutely perfect. To end off, I was served a complimentary birthday dessert that included a lit candle. I don't fully know what dessert it was, but I do know that it was very tasty and delectable. The texture was super enjoyable to eat. On top of that, we had some pink cotton candy that was marvelously presented to us. I highly recommend celebrating your birthday dinner at Alexander's Steakhouse, which is only open during the evenings. They will not let you down. To make things even better, there is an underground parking structure right beneath the restaurant, and this restaurant will happily validate your ticket for the first 90 minutes.

Dim and background Beatles songs in background. Family and date nights is perfect here. Nic our waiter is nice and fast. Explained our menu to us. Bone in ribbeye. Was flavorful. The rib eye chop was tender , perfect amount of fat. The bone marrow was paired with crustini. And again wasn't too strong. The lobster mac n cheese was filling tho I didn't see or tast any lobster. For 36 dollars. Prob not worth it. ... rhia is a pretty restaurant. Will def come again.

Went on Sunday to try their Prime Rib Dinner menu. Service was outstanding and just being at Alexander's feels elegant. Ordered the Prime Rib special served only on Sunday with a half bottle of Pride Mountain Cabernet. The prime rib melted in my mouth. It was so tender. Dipped in horseradish and au jus was the perfect accent. The brocolinni was a bit salty and some were tough, but charred perfectly. The Caesars salad was very good. Alexander's is a perfect place to bring your loved one.

We tried their Dine LA menu, and unfortunately this visit was a bit underwhelming for us. The fish dish lacked seasoning and felt quite mild in flavor. Even after adding some salt, it still tasted rather bland. While it was served with a sauce, it didn't quite bring the dish together as we had hoped. Service was also slower than expected, especially considering the restaurant's usual standards. The pacing of the courses felt a bit off, which affected the overall experience. I've dined here before and had a much better experience, so this visit was somewhat disappointing by comparison. I hope this was just an off night and that the restaurant can return to the level it was previously known for.

Came here for an early wedding anniversary and was immediately greeted with a little card which was a sweet touch. Our table was situated in the back dining hall, in the middle portion of the room and they do have purse holders that you can request. Our main server and all the other staff were excellent. Attentive, kind, presented each dish knowing what was in it, and gave good recommendations. Really made you feel like this was a fine dining establishment. PRIME RIB SUNDAY special that we took advantage of. Cocktails: Split between aromatic and refreshing which is fun! + FROM NICARAGUA, WITH LOVE - Refreshing for sure! Passion fruit shined through, but could also taste the walnut bitters for some nuttiness and complexity. Served in a large glass with ice. + SOME LIKE IT SCOTCH - looked like an espresso martini but tasted like a carajillo. Very smooth and tasty. Complimentary items: + Bread/butter assortment - really tasty, all the bread was warm/soft. Butters were presented really nicely, one in the bone marrow bone. + Watermelon amuse bouche - refreshing starter What we ate: + HAMACHI SHOT - solid cold dish, love the diced radish on top and the crunchies although my partner said could use less of those. + Hokkaido Scallops - our hot starter - bone marrow foam · popcorn grits · grilled peaches · frisée · serrano chips - the peaches overpower the dish but the scallops were cooked perfectly. + Caesar Salad - part of the Prime Rib special - parmesan · anchovy dressing · squid ink croutons - could definitely taste the anchovy which I loved. + RIBEYE CHOP - 18 oz · dry aged · Flannery Beef from California - the real star of the meal and dare I say might be even the best ribeye we've had. Texture was like a wagyu but the seare and cut was like a ribeye. It was really good. + Sauces: PEPPERCORN SAUCE and BEARNAISE were both delicious and both really different flavor profiles so was perfect. + PRIMERIB - 16 oz and came with Au Jus & Zesty Horseradish. A nice piece of prime rib, lightly seasoned + MASHED POTATOES - so velvety smooth, unreal. Included with the prime rib special. + KFC - Korean Fried Cauliflower topped with gochujang sauce and was a large portion. It was tasty, but I don't think it went with the meal as much as I thought. Would pick another side next time. + Barrel Kissed Soufflé - chocolate soufflé · bourbon chocolate sauce · chocolate ice cream - also very tasty, heavy on the chocolate which I loved and the souffle was perfectly raised and airy on the inside.

Alexander's Steakhouse - Pasadena Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Alexander's Steakhouse - Pasadena

Does anyone know the name of the complimentary sparkling wine they sometimes serve?

    Parking available or valet?

There’s a big underground parking structure attached to the restaurant and Westin Hotel. I don’t know if there is a valet connected to the hotel.

Reservation needed for bar area (solo diner)?

I'm pretty certain they're not required for the bar

Does Alexander's Steakhouse still have outdoor dining available? We are Covid phobics. Thanks.

Yes, they have a beautiful outdoor patio for dining.

Dress Code policy? I was not able to find anything, on the actual website.

I would say it is business casual.

Is the prime rib still being served?

No the new chef took it off the menu

Is the steakhouse still hosting happy hour?

Yes, happy hour is Sunday - Thursday from 5pm-630pm. Menu is on the website. Food and drink specials.

    Does this restaurant have valet?

    No, they have underground parking.

Are there any plans to open for lunch?

I don't hear from them but double check with their Mgmt

Are they still offering Social Hour right now?

Hi!! Are the Waygu burgers on the dinner menu? We wanted to come in and try one.

Hi Lei! Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to say it, but at the moment our wagyu burger is only available for takeout and delivery. If there's continued demand for it in-house, we'll work to make it happen. Wishing you the best!

    Where do we park?

Jimmy, there are three options for parking. Underground is the easiest and is located just West of Los Robles on Union. We DO validate for the first 90 minutes, after that there is a flat rate of $5. Street parking all around is free after 6pm, and…

Is Alexander's still open for lunch?

Unfortunately we have discontinued lunch and brunch services. The restaurant is open 7 days a week for dinner, with the bar opening at 5pm for social hour.

Which a5 steak is the least fat?

I'm no specialist, but I don't think it's about the fat content, but more about the cattle mix that's used, the types of climates they're exposed to, how long their raised and how they end up. tasting. They're all highly marbled.…

How is happy hour from 5-6:30 when they show they open @ 5:30?

The bar area is open at 5pm Monday-Friday

When we walked in, there was a tall, bald male bartender and a blonde female bartender working--neither of whom I've seen here before. We ordered two drinks, but the service from the male bartender was inattentive from the start. At one point, my friend tried to get someone's attention to ask for a lime and wasn't acknowledged. She ended up grabbing a lime herself from the garnish tray--which I understand isn't ideal--but the response we got was completely out of line. The male bartender became immediately hostile and started aggressively cursing at my friend. When I calmly asked the female bartender if this was normal behavior, he inserted himself into the conversation and said, "she put her fucking hand in the fucking jar," in a very confrontational tone. I tried to de-escalate the situation and respectfully explained that there was no reason to speak to us that way, but he continued the hostility and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out." At that point, I paid for our drinks and we left. What made this especially disappointing is that this has never been our experience here before. We've always enjoyed this bar and have had positive interactions with the regular staff. If this had been my first visit, I would not come back. I understand that what my friend did wasn't appropriate, but it absolutely did not justify being yelled at and cursed out. I hope management addresses this, because this kind of behavior is not reflective of the bar I've come to know.

They mixed an incredible Manhattan that was perfectly balanced with the right sweet vermouth, and their Old Fashioneds are crafted with an attention to detail that really lets the spirits shine through. We also ordered a few Paper Planes, and they were dangerously good, hitting that perfect sweet and sour note that makes you want to immediately order another round. It is not just the incredible drinks that make this place stand out, but the exceptional service from the bartenders. They are super knowledgeable and treat craft cocktail making like a true art form, all while keeping the vibe laid-back and welcoming. If you are looking for an unmatched whiskey selection and a fantastic atmosphere in Los Angeles, this place is an absolute must-visit. Easy 5 stars for sure.

Having been here many times over the past decade, I've discovered some great bourbons, scotches, and had some great cocktails. But those days are unfortunately in years past. In a place that prides itself in its whisky, the bartenders are sorely lacking in their knowledge around their own bar. With an extensive selection, I don't expect them to know everything, but bartenders not knowing what is meant by a neat pour (straight out of the bottle into the glassware, no ice, and not mixed) was unexpected. I'm getting the impression that while they still mix old fashioneds, a scotch such as Ardbeg is now an unusual and baffling request. I've been here a handful of times in the past few months, and it can be lively or dead, but it's now just any other bar. If you want a fun cocktail you can find anywhere else, this place will do, but unfortunately it's lost what has separated this bar from any of the other bars in dtla.

The fried brussels sprouts were also super solid. It was a bit disappointing that they didn't have fries to go with the burgers, as the chips were kinda mid... but the burger itself was cooked perfectly and the blackberry barbecue sauce was divine. Would 100% recommend visiting.

Although the Racho locations is much larger with minimal wait times. The Monrovia location is located on Myrtle in old town Monrovia, it has decent parking options but be mindful of the Friday night market happening on Myrtle between Lemon and Chestnut. This location is smaller and may require a wait to be seated but the service, food and libations are pretty good. The ambiance is on trendy side with a variety of age groups from Boomers to human and fur babies. The outdoor patio allows for dogs on a leash. We started off with drinks, girl next door; vodka, elderflower and blackberries, a mezcal drink which I can't recall but both drinks were good! For starters we ordered the bacon wrapped dates with bleu and mascarpone cheese and tempura green beans. Our entrees for the evening were the poblano burger with side salad and the chicken breast with mushroom risotto and broccolini. There was no room for desert otherwise I would've gone with the bread pudding. This is definitely a must try if in the Monrovia area.

Food 4/5 Pork Meatballs $21 - Best meatballs I've ever had. Full of flavor but a little too salty. Local Wild Mushrooms $24 - Standard, nothing too special. Beets $18 - Refreshing, to the point. Caramelle $27 - My favorite of all the pastas but expensive for very little pieces of pasta and a meatless dish. Full of flavor, lots of oil. Rigatoni Timballo $32 - Delicious, standard. Duck Confit Rotolo $31 - My personal dish which turned out to be my least favorite. Meatballs and Caramelle were my top favorite, secondary are the beets. Prices are not unexpected for the area but are pretty high for what is really given to you. Service 3/5 We sat outside and they were pretty slow to bring water and take our orders. Ambiance 3/5 It was a really lovely time to eat outside but the lights were broken and it was SO dark, there were no added lights to the table. It was impossible to read the menu.
