My wife and I were looking for a romantic spot to celebrate her birthday and Alexander's Steakhouse was atop of the list. First impressions is that the restaurant is extremely spacious. It's quite the exhibit with the amount of space there is. We were seated immediately as we had a reservation before hand. Another note is that the restaurant is quite clean and atmosphere is very romantic, such a nice start. Parking - Free 90 minute validation for a underground parking lot right by Alexander's Steakhouse. To start, my wife was provided with a birthday card, it was a nice surprise and a very nice gesture. After exploring the menu for a bit, we decided on the Korean Fried Cauliflower, Fried Rice, and the T Bone Steak (22 oz), all to share. Our staff, Jayce, who was absolutely phenomenal, handed us complimentary bread and a watermelon bite (palette cleanser) before our orders arrived, a wonderful gesture as the breads came with various spreads that were super delicious. All bite size and very savory. The fried rice was very delicious, although it was a bit salty, it complimented the Fried Cauliflower dish we got. The sweet bite from the cauliflower mix with the fried rice created a nice sweet and savory taste. Overall, two wonderful dishes that I highly recommend, very delicious. Star of the show of course, is the T bone steak (medium rare, 22 oz) wow this was amazing. You can have the steak come out with the pieces already sliced off the bone, which we decided to. It was just super soft and melts in your mouth instantly. Each bite was so delicious and it was very cooked, would definitely get this again. After the meal, Jayce brought out a complimentary birthday dessert for my lovely wife, it was a absolute surprise and it was such a grand gesture. Very happy with this as we were able to have extra celebrations. Seem like every table gets handed a cotton candy stand after the meal, which was surprising, but it was my first time trying cotton candy and it was pretty tasty, melts instantly. Overall, I was very impressed with the high quality food, each bite of every dish was just astonishing to be honest. I've never had such high quality food before so this was a exceptional experience. On top of this, service was amazing, and a huge props to our server, Jayce, who made my wife's birthday dinner amazing. Will certainly be back to try other menu items and to celebrate special occasions. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would give infinite stars.

There's street and structure parking nearby. Came on a weekday night. The staff were well dressed. The dining area appeared clean. Really enjoyed the squid ink bread. Got the Caesar Salad, Filet Mignon, and Yuzu Cheesecake. The Caesar Salad was really delicious. Got the Filet Mignon medium rare and thought it was alright. Was not a fan of the mashed potatoes. The Yuzu Cheesecake was really good. Would return for a special occasion.

Dim and background Beatles songs in background. Family and date nights is perfect here. Nic our waiter is nice and fast. Explained our menu to us. Bone in ribbeye. Was flavorful. The rib eye chop was tender , perfect amount of fat. The bone marrow was paired with crustini. And again wasn't too strong. The lobster mac n cheese was filling tho I didn't see or tast any lobster. For 36 dollars. Prob not worth it. ... rhia is a pretty restaurant. Will def come again.

I celebrated an absolutely wonderful birthday here thanks to my husband. With a reservation, we were seated right away at a spacious table, which had a small birthday card for me. Our server, Jayce, was phenomenal. After putting in our order, some warm complimentary bread with 3 various spreads were brought out for us. The breads were fantastic and a great start to the rest of our dinner. We were then surprised with small, refreshing watermelon bites to cleanse our palettes. Our steak was definitely the star of the night. We requested it to be cooked medium rare and it came out perfectly. It tasted very flavorful, juicy, and tender. On the side, we shared some fried rice and Korean fried cauliflower. I was surprised at how delicious the fried rice was. You can tell that it is elevated, not your basic fried rice. As for the cauliflower, they were hot, crispy, and only mildly spicy - absolutely perfect. To end off, I was served a complimentary birthday dessert that included a lit candle. I don't fully know what dessert it was, but I do know that it was very tasty and delectable. The texture was super enjoyable to eat. On top of that, we had some pink cotton candy that was marvelously presented to us. I highly recommend celebrating your birthday dinner at Alexander's Steakhouse, which is only open during the evenings. They will not let you down. To make things even better, there is an underground parking structure right beneath the restaurant, and this restaurant will happily validate your ticket for the first 90 minutes.

2025 Alexanders! Heard good things about this pasadena restaurant from friends. They were pretty on point with how it is. It's aite but personally I'm not planning on going back unless its a special event. It's Pasadena so you will have to pay for parking and expect to walk unless you take a ride share. We took a Lyft because we wanted to enjoy a couple of drinks. Make an appointment for dinner ahead and expect them to be late to serve you at your reservation time by twenty minutes or hopefully less. Do not expect the hosts to be too friendly either. Luckily you can wait and have a drink at the bar while you wait for them to have your table set up. If you want better service and dont mind sharing the bar with strangers i would suggest to do that. Service overall was not bad! The food came out within the hour and the workers made their rounds around checking up [or one person splashing water on my clothes.] Most of the food was decent. Dont get the fried rice or the oysters. Inside is nice and appears clean. Found it funny & cool they have cotton candy as dessert. We were too full from the food so didnt get to enjoy it. THANK YOU STEVEN FOR YOUR SERVICE! Thank you Remington for your kindness and good vibes. I really appreciate that. Fabian good man. Lawrence please improve your behavior. I dont think other customers would appreciate water being splashed on them when you are refilling a cup. I hope I'm the only one. Thank you for stopping after i kept smiling and being polite to you.

Went on Sunday to try their Prime Rib Dinner menu. Service was outstanding and just being at Alexander's feels elegant. Ordered the Prime Rib special served only on Sunday with a half bottle of Pride Mountain Cabernet. The prime rib melted in my mouth. It was so tender. Dipped in horseradish and au jus was the perfect accent. The brocolinni was a bit salty and some were tough, but charred perfectly. The Caesars salad was very good. Alexander's is a perfect place to bring your loved one.

Oh WOW! Every plate was a 10/10! I felt so lucky just to have a bite. Oysters and the popcorn crab were some highlights of the night. Brussels sprouts were also the yummiest I've ever had. Great service! The wine guy Fredrick had this cool sense of humor, that makes me wanna come back. Nice fancy layout. Highly recommend

We tried their Dine LA menu, and unfortunately this visit was a bit underwhelming for us. The fish dish lacked seasoning and felt quite mild in flavor. Even after adding some salt, it still tasted rather bland. While it was served with a sauce, it didn't quite bring the dish together as we had hoped. Service was also slower than expected, especially considering the restaurant's usual standards. The pacing of the courses felt a bit off, which affected the overall experience. I've dined here before and had a much better experience, so this visit was somewhat disappointing by comparison. I hope this was just an off night and that the restaurant can return to the level it was previously known for.

We had a bit of a strange, slightly disappointing dinner experience here on New Year's Eve for both the holiday but also celebrating a big milestone. We had a 5:30pm reservation, so we were arriving toward the beginning of dinner service. Right off the bat, the greeting set an odd tone. The hostess never once looked up from her iPad to make eye contact or say hello while checking us in, which felt surprising for a higher-end steakhouse. We were seated shortly after, and our booth toward the back of the restaurant was very nice and comfortable. About a month prior to our reservation, I had emailed to ask about dairy-free and gluten-free accommodations and was told very confidently that it would not be an issue. When we mentioned this to our server, he seemed genuinely shocked and told us we were about to be disappointed, which is never something you want to hear at the start of a meal. To be fair, he was friendly overall, but this comment was strange and immediately lowered expectations. In terms of food options, we were told the steaks could be prepared safely, along with hamachi shots using tamari, French fries, and the only vegetable option being baby broccoli cooked plain. That was fine for us, but it directly contradicted what I had been told in my email, which stated that vegetable dishes could be modified. That disconnect was frustrating. We ordered two dry vodka martinis. The vodka selection was very limited, with only three options, none of which were our preference, but we chose Tito's since it is wheat free. The martinis were acceptable but not served very cold, which took away from the experience slightly. We started with the hamachi shots. The fish itself was very fresh, but the execution missed the mark for us. They were not easy to take as a single shot, which felt awkward in a nicer dining setting, and the sprouts inside were overpowering without much balance or depth of flavor. For our main course, we shared the Australian filet mignon with French fries and the plain baby broccoli. The filet was the standout of the night. It was cooked perfectly to temperature with a well-developed crust and an exceptionally tender interior. The meat was rich and deeply flavorful with a clean, high-quality beef taste that stood on its own without the need for sauces or enhancements. It was truly excellent and the main reason we would consider returning. The baby broccoli, though plain, was nicely charred and cooked just right, and the French fries were perfectly crispy with great seasoning and flavor. After finishing our meal, we ordered a bottle of German wine to share and decided on an additional order of fries instead of dessert. We understood there was a 90-minute time limit for tables on New Year's Eve, but we assumed that placing this order would be acceptable. Our server placed it and mentioned that he liked our style. It then took quite a while for him to return with the wine, which he acknowledged before walking away again. We assumed the fries would arrive shortly after, but they never did. We attempted to get his attention multiple times, but he disappeared and then repeatedly walked past our table without acknowledging us. At one point, another staff member placed cotton candy on our table, which clearly signaled that our meal was considered finished. We still had not received the fries. When our server finally brought the check, we asked about the missing fries. His response was casual and nonchalant, and it was immediately obvious that he had not forgotten them by accident--we simply were not going to receive them. I understand that there was a time limit on the table, but it was strange that this was never communicated to us directly. The interaction was so odd that my husband and I ended up laughing about it afterward because it felt very intentional and easily avoidable with better communication. Overall, I would be open to returning and giving this restaurant another chance. The steak and wine were genuinely excellent, but the service and communication, especially for a restaurant at this price point, could use significant improvement. Although, looking at past reviews, it doesn't seem that the restaurant does too much to rectify these disappointments with their patrons, which is not the best of looks.

Amazing food and amazing service. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. I've been wanting to try the Chef's tasting menu for a while now and this was the perfect occasion for it. If you are doing it, just know that everyone in your party must partake. From the moment we sat to the finishing touches, everything was perfect.

Came here for an early wedding anniversary and was immediately greeted with a little card which was a sweet touch. Our table was situated in the back dining hall, in the middle portion of the room and they do have purse holders that you can request. Our main server and all the other staff were excellent. Attentive, kind, presented each dish knowing what was in it, and gave good recommendations. Really made you feel like this was a fine dining establishment. PRIME RIB SUNDAY special that we took advantage of. Cocktails: Split between aromatic and refreshing which is fun! + FROM NICARAGUA, WITH LOVE - Refreshing for sure! Passion fruit shined through, but could also taste the walnut bitters for some nuttiness and complexity. Served in a large glass with ice. + SOME LIKE IT SCOTCH - looked like an espresso martini but tasted like a carajillo. Very smooth and tasty. Complimentary items: + Bread/butter assortment - really tasty, all the bread was warm/soft. Butters were presented really nicely, one in the bone marrow bone. + Watermelon amuse bouche - refreshing starter What we ate: + HAMACHI SHOT - solid cold dish, love the diced radish on top and the crunchies although my partner said could use less of those. + Hokkaido Scallops - our hot starter - bone marrow foam · popcorn grits · grilled peaches · frisée · serrano chips - the peaches overpower the dish but the scallops were cooked perfectly. + Caesar Salad - part of the Prime Rib special - parmesan · anchovy dressing · squid ink croutons - could definitely taste the anchovy which I loved. + RIBEYE CHOP - 18 oz · dry aged · Flannery Beef from California - the real star of the meal and dare I say might be even the best ribeye we've had. Texture was like a wagyu but the seare and cut was like a ribeye. It was really good. + Sauces: PEPPERCORN SAUCE and BEARNAISE were both delicious and both really different flavor profiles so was perfect. + PRIMERIB - 16 oz and came with Au Jus & Zesty Horseradish. A nice piece of prime rib, lightly seasoned + MASHED POTATOES - so velvety smooth, unreal. Included with the prime rib special. + KFC - Korean Fried Cauliflower topped with gochujang sauce and was a large portion. It was tasty, but I don't think it went with the meal as much as I thought. Would pick another side next time. + Barrel Kissed Soufflé - chocolate soufflé · bourbon chocolate sauce · chocolate ice cream - also very tasty, heavy on the chocolate which I loved and the souffle was perfectly raised and airy on the inside.

I really didn't take a picture of like 90% of what I ate, but it's a solid steakhouse and I'm not a big steak person. The scallops, mashed potatoes, and salad were lovely! The steak wasn't hot at all and I didn't love it, but I did appreciate that it wasn't bloody lol. Desserts were cool, but not the best. Chocolate one was probably the best of all of them. Also the cotton candy is really just cotton candy, so don't go expecting something crazy from the pictures.

From being seated to service to the food, everything was wonderful. The service was very attentive and friendly and greeted with a warm smile each time. We came here for the Sunday prime rib. The prime rib was delicious, flavorful, tender, and juicy. We also ordered the porterhouse steak and it was just as delicious! I can't believe I've passed by the restaurant so many times and never dined here. I'm definitely coming back here if I want some steak. Bonus: complimentary bread. There were the Hokkaido, cheese, and squid ink bread. We ended up ordering the Hokkaido and cheese bread again because they were so good.

When we walked in, there was a tall, bald male bartender and a blonde female bartender working--neither of whom I've seen here before. We ordered two drinks, but the service from the male bartender was inattentive from the start. At one point, my friend tried to get someone's attention to ask for a lime and wasn't acknowledged. She ended up grabbing a lime herself from the garnish tray--which I understand isn't ideal--but the response we got was completely out of line. The male bartender became immediately hostile and started aggressively cursing at my friend. When I calmly asked the female bartender if this was normal behavior, he inserted himself into the conversation and said, "she put her fucking hand in the fucking jar," in a very confrontational tone. I tried to de-escalate the situation and respectfully explained that there was no reason to speak to us that way, but he continued the hostility and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out." At that point, I paid for our drinks and we left. What made this especially disappointing is that this has never been our experience here before. We've always enjoyed this bar and have had positive interactions with the regular staff. If this had been my first visit, I would not come back. I understand that what my friend did wasn't appropriate, but it absolutely did not justify being yelled at and cursed out. I hope management addresses this, because this kind of behavior is not reflective of the bar I've come to know.

As Grand As it gets…read more I've been stopping in to Seven Grand for well over a decade now O.O and I still love this top notch whiskey bar lounge in Downtown Los Angeles. From fun nights out, special occasions, whiskey tastings, exploring the speakeasy... playing some pool, enjoying libations, taking in live music, perfect outings on the patio, the occasional cigar. So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. And Seven Grand cares about everyone and their safety. They value their staff as much as their customers. And it shows in every way from thoughtful space in all directions, great pool tables, a whiskey, bourbon and scotch curated cocktail menu, even some good brew/beer. Awesome hallways with cabinet lockers, the cleanest restrooms, great dim dark warm lighting, fun fixtures and true DTLA vibes that feel old timey yet also very modern. Seven Grand is open to all and all are welcome. Stellar daily happy hour 4pm to 8pm. I love a good $10 Toki Highball at 5pm, but you can't go wrong with their classic old fashion also. All the bartenders are incredible as well as personable. S Grand is open every day from 4pm until 2am. Loads of lots close by as well as the Metro station at 7th and Metro. Though the trains currently stop just a little after midnight. Rideshare is also your friend, which now includes Waymo in the area. Discover Seven Grand also in San Diego, Austin or Denver. If planning an event you inquire with Stephen via email for personal parties, events with a budget and even corporate parties. They're very accommodating with a good amount of notice. When we had my boyfriend's birthday here they reserved a table for us and set us up with everything we needed. Thinking of having my next birthday here myself both at Seven Grand and Bar Jackalope (their hidden speakeasy). Support your awesome LA Whiskey Bar!

I visited the State for the first time on 05/01/2026 at lunchtime with a party of three…read more Parking is easy to find, all around Monrovia downtown. The restaurant was kind of empty during our visit today; however, it is a small place -- and it was kind of nice. Every other time I have passed it (usually in the evening) it is packed. So, it was nice to be quiet today. Our service was friendly. I had the spicy chicken sandwich, which is a huge sandwich and it was delicious. It was not really spicy; however, I know -- for the masses. It was still absolutely delicious though. I did upgrade my salad to the side Cesar salad and it also was delicious. Overall, it was a nice win for lunch today. I even was able to wrap up half of my sandwich to bring home later. Dessert -- not this time -- but I'll be back!

We've been here a few times and really wanted to like this place. The food and drinks feel more…read moreelevated than most spots nearby, and as locals in Monrovia, we were hoping it could become a regular for us. This last visit was frustrating enough that we won't be rushing back. We came in just before 6:00 PM with a babysitter and a limited window. The restaurant wasn't busy, maybe five tables, but service was completely off. Our entrée took about 45 minutes. It was comped, but no one acknowledged the delay. No apology, no explanation, nothing. We also got the wrong side (fries instead of onion rings), and while it was corrected quickly, it added to the overall feeling that no one was really paying attention. The bigger issue was how absent the service felt. Our server never came back for a second round of drinks, and I had to go to the bar myself. When I mentioned it, the response was basically that the server was busy with another table, which felt dismissive given how long we had already been waiting. No one was busy. By the time food arrived, it was around 6:45 PM. The problem wasn't just the wait, it was the lack of communication or basic hospitality the entire time. I actually emailed the restaurant directly after our visit and never heard back, which is disappointing and honestly says a lot. At this point, it's hard not to feel like they just don't really care about the customer experience or about keeping people coming back. It's a shame, because the place has potential, but right now it doesn't feel like it's being taken seriously.
