About an hour in, this dude comes inside with the biggest pit bull I've ever seen. It must have been bred with a horse or something, it weighs a solid 125+ pounds. Guy sits at the bar and the bartenders ogle the dog and usual. The dog lays down on the floor at the corner of the bar, on the way to the restrooms as the guy flirts with the bartenders and has his drink. 10min later this chick walking to the bathroom trips over this black dog lying on the floor and faceplants onto the floor! Lady pops up from embarrassment and dog owner grabs its chain before it has a chance to react. Fricking hilarious, but crisis averted! The guy moves to a table at the middle of the bar with the same dog at his feet. The moron bartenders don't bother to tell him to go outside or anything else. So 5 min later a guy walking buy steps on the dogs leg or tail and the thing jumps up and almost lunges at the guy and starts barking. It was frickin unbelievable how stupid he and the workers here were. Finally one of the guys in the bar says something to the bartender about the dog, and they just wave him off. Wow! Whoever owns this bar is going to get sued to no end based on the actions of the bartenders.

This was my first time here and I would be interested in coming back and also check out the tiki bar too. This is a cool place to go as part of your bar hopping in Old Town Pasadena.

It was good.. if you shoot the sauce, it becomes very overpowering with ponzu notes, so I assume you just use the spoon to scoop out the hamachi in two spoonfuls - 7/10 Hokkaido Scallops - These were the takeaway for my wife. I thought they were really good as well, once you know what to expect. Scallops usually have a light flavor to these. The Hokkaido scallops served here are garnished with backed fish flakes similar to katsuoboshi, which upped the ocean flavor up by 100. It took a bit to get used to since I was not expecting it to be such a powerful taste. When you expect this, each bite after that is amazing. I recommend eating a small bite first, then finishing it up on your 2nd bite 8/10 Australian Bone-In Ribeye - We had this at medium rare. This was a fatty steak, but was a bit too fatty for medium rare. I should have ordered medium so the fat would render a bit more. The cut we had had lot of fat on one end and perfect marbling on the other. I think I just had a no-so-great cut. What I found odd was that the steak comes pre-cut. Usually high quality steakhouses don't do this to lock in the juices of the steak, and other steakhouses do this more to make a tough steak seem more tender by cutting against the grain for you. I was not a fan that they cut our ribeye for us. 7/10 Yu-Choy - This was AMAZING! Vegetables with an Asian flare. This is a must have! I wish I could write more, but there is a cap on review length - 10/10 Mushroom Medley - This was also amazing!! A mushroom medley covered in butter with a hint of yuzu! This was so good, we almost ordered two! 10/10 Creme Brulee - Good, but not great. Not a fan of the bourbon that they infused in the dessert 5/10 All in all, as with all steakhouses, the steak is what makes you come, but the sides are what makes you come back! The sides were excellent! The steak was meh, and the service primarily came from our back waiter. Not sure if we would come back due to the prices of the steak.. a bit pricey for what it is... compared to other steakhouses in this price point. Our service from Frederick was sub-par, but our back waiter made up for it. We'll come back for the sides!

One of the folks at our table mentioned it was their birthday so without us asking they brought a scoop of ice cream with a candle which we thought was really nice of them.
