Caitlyn greeted us and made us feel welcome right off the bat! Charming restaurant with a great vibe. Food was excellent. Service was incredible and so was the ambiance.

Took hubs here to celebrate his birthday and everything was fantastic! Parking was easy in the lot behind the restaurant, and the atmosphere of Bistro 45 is simply warm, bright and cozy. We got a quiet table in the corner and enjoyed the lovely dining experience thoroughly. Our waiter was charming and attentive. We ordered the Beet Salad, the Ravioli du Chef, the mussels and clams, and ribeye, which came with potatoes and carrots. We loved the beet salad! The presentation was so beautiful and the beets were perfectly balanced with the goat cheese. The mussels and clams came with a creamy garlic sauce with a bit of tangy brightness. Absolutely delicious! We enjoyed dipping the crusty bread in the sauce-if it came in a cup, I would drink it! The ribeye, although a tad salty, was tender and melted in our mouths. We ordered the Chocolate Soup which came with a scoop of ice cream for dessert and it was rich, decadent and the perfect way to end the meal. They decorated the plate so fancy and special too!

Last night I took my cousin to Bistro 45 for her birthday and it was pure magic. We had a paint & sip at 7 pm, so we came in for an early 5 pm dinner. It was quiet when we arrived and completely packed by the time we left, always a good sign. The space has that classic bistro charm, black and white checkered floors and warm energy. The owner is fully present and involved, kind, and genuinely passionate. He checked in on us and shared details about sourcing and partnerships, from local purveyors to prime ingredients like Wisconsin beef. I love those details, so it made the night even more special. We had the short rib with polenta and natural jus, rich and tender, and the 11 ounce Niman Ranch pork chop with shaved Brussels sprouts, parsnip puree, apple, pear, and mustard seed. The pork chop was incredible, perfectly balanced and generous enough for leftovers the next day. We also shared a salad with a memorable vinaigrette and a beautifully fried goat cheese round that was crisp outside and creamy inside. Everything paired beautifully with a Syrah blend that felt like it could go with anything. For dessert, the Fuji apple tart tatin with creme fraiche ice cream and caramel sauce stole the show. The apples were perfectly sweet and tart, and the ice cream was cool, creamy heaven. We were truly loved on all night. Thoughtful service, intentional sourcing, fantastic food. Worth every penny. Bistro 45 may be my new favorite spot for birthdays and big celebrations.

Our first time dining at Bistro 45 and we will definitely be back. Will was so kind and went through everything we asked for on the menu. The food was delicious and we had the best ever soufflé to end the night. Such a great place with great service. Didn't feel rushed and got to enjoy it all.

I've been to Bistro 45 many times with family and friends over the last decade and it's always an amazing experience but last night I went there for an event for the first time and really saw how this place shines! Review long overdue. This restaurant has that intimate small town feel where you're properly greeted and treated like family throughout. Everyone we encountered was lovely but it was beyond good service- there was an extra layer of warmth and care that was genuine and not stuffy. The ambience is elevated but cozy and intimate. You might feel like you're in Europe, NYC, or someone's patio in their beautiful home depending on where you're sitting. Last night there were multiple events and normal dining parties going on but it still blended seamlessly and despite how busy they were they service never faltered. And now for the food. The food has always been solid and intentional here. Quality ingredients that feel hand chosen, great cocktails, and fabulous wine. However last night really blew me away. The duck was phenomenal. I inhaled it despite trying to savor every bite. The sauce was so good and the vegetables it came with were cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and tasty. I wish I had partaken in more of the passed appetizers but I was busy mingling but the tuna I had that was apparently flown in that morning was so fresh. I fell in love with the champagne their served and I can't decide whether I liked my dirty martini (which was perfectly made), or the white, or the red wine they paired with the meals. The chocolate soup was the most wonderful ending and I tried a bite of my friend's butterscotch which was yummy too. What a lovely evening in multiple ways. I'd strongly consider hosting an event here in the future. Thank you so much!

Excellent presentation and flavor. Ingredients tasted like they came straight from the local farmers market. The soup was so sweet. Pork tenderloin was lean and tender too Love the service here. Really feel pampered here

Came here for a birthday celebration & we had a wonderful experience! They had beautiful, elegant decor with indoor & outdoor seating, with a private parking lot or street parking. The staff were friendly & attentive, they always refilled our water & bread. The food was fantastic! We enjoyed the Hanger Steak, Rib-eye, Chicken, & the Fuji apple tart. All the meats were tender & flavorful & the birthday dessert was delicious ! I would definitely return to try more items on the menu. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time because there's limited seating, especially if you have a big party.

We are recurring customers coming here for a special date night. We love the casual but posh ambience the moment we walked in. The bar at the entrance always look so cozy. I love the decor and lighting of the restaurant. It definitely sets the mood for the evening. We arrived early but were seated right away. Funny that we weee seated almost at the same table we did last time. . The server came and shared with us the special of the evening. To share, we had the tiger prawn, no difference than a mini lobster. It tastes really good and the owner said it's from Nigeria. For entree, I had the boullonaise, a salmon seafood spicy broth and my boyfriend had the scallops. I enjoyed every bit of my entree and the soup was flavorful and they are generous with the seafood. My boyfriend's scallops were yummy too. For dessert, since we couldn't make a decision, we ordered by the upside down pineapple cake with coconut gelato and the chocolate terrine with berry sorbet. Both were delightful. What a wonderful date night! We both will return and pamper ourselves with a spectacular dinner experience.

Came here as part of a group birthday dinner and had reservation at 6pm on a Saturday. We were seated promptly, it wasn't too busy but picked up shortly after. There was parking in the back but spots are a little limited. The interior was nice, I wouldn't call it very modern but a little old school but bright which I actually like. I'm not a huge fan of super dim lighting where I can barely see anything. They started us off with fresh bread and butter which was absolutely delicious. You could tell it was freshly baked and I could eaten an entire loaf. We shared appetizers of the octopus and beet salad. I loved the beet salad with the fried artichokes and the dressing was great. The octopus was decent but pretty skimpy portion wise for the price. I got the hangar steak which was cooked perfectly. I got to try a piece of the duck which was extremely tender and some of the bouillabaisse which was delicious too esp with their bread dipped in. I knocked off a star cuz our main waitress was not the friendliest and also some confusion about the birthday dessert. When we mentioned it was our birthdays when we were looking at dessert menu she said they would just pick something if we didn't choose. We ended up going with the Meyer Lemon Trio which was not my favorite of the night. I thought the lemon curd was way too tart but the soufflé was good. They did charge for that which I thought they would provide something complimentary esp given the price point of everything. Not that I expect free things but when they called about what the special occasion was it made it sound like that was the expectation. Overall the experience was good, most of the food was great. It's def more of a special occasion type of place given the prices for the average person.

A hidden gem I didn't know about until it was recommended to me. Max was our server, who was so good at explaining everything and letting us be. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. I loved the interior of the restaurant; it had an old-school charm that I love to see still exist. I got the hanger steak, which was perfectly charred. The star of the show was the butterscotch dessert, one of the best desserts I have ever had in my life. I'll be back!

Pan Roasted New Zealand Ora King Salmon

Great service and delicious food within a unique, building on a small street in Pasadena. My husband had their vegan pizza primavera while I had their pan roasted salmon. Both were done very well, along with their chipotle brussels spouts and little gems salad. Hopefully they will be able to add a vegan pasta dish to their menu like a veggie aglio e olio (my husband is not a big fan of risotto) so we can come back more often.

I've been going to them more and more, and The Lucky Tiki was one I definitely had to try out. First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. Was the perfect spot for a lively date night!

How about instead of accepting $$$ for a private event that will deny customers their reservation, they make the private event work around what is available? I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Ambiance: trendy, high energy, casual vibes where u can lounge and have a beer while munching on fries...or u can choose to be poshy and have a glass of wine with a salad and Chilean sea bass. It's flexible to accommodate both as there are different sections. Parking: street metered 1 hour parking. 3 stars, not their fault but 1 hour is simply not enough. It can get super busy and the server can be pulled left and right, so cut them some slack during super busy hours. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended .

Genuinely impressed with this entire hotel, but the tap room really stood out. We were here for a work event and had a few cocktails, and it was such an enjoyable experience. If you're staying on the property, this is absolutely worth stopping by for a couple of drinks. Great views, friendly people, and an easy walk from your room.

Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

Cannonball - Buttermilk biscuits

Cannonball, delicious food, delivered cannonball speed!…read more My wife and I went to Cannonball on a Saturday night ready for a relaxed dinner. The food is fantastic. Seriously. Creative flavors, well executed dishes, everything we had was excellent. But the pacing? Absolute chaos. We ordered Negronis (an apéritif, meaning the drink is supposed to come before the meal). Two food dishes landed on the table before the cocktails even showed up. Then the rest of the plates began arriving at what can only be described as cannonball speed. We were still eating one dish while another server materialized with the next like a food ninja. Our tiny table looked like a game of culinary Tetris. In and out in 45 minutes on a Saturday night. Great if you're power-lunching with clients. Less great if you're trying to linger over dinner. Bottom line: fantastic food. Just know the kitchen fires dishes like they're loading artillery. Eat fast or get buried.
