Excellent gastropub in Pasadena when it comes to food, service and ambiance. We got the calamari and pork belly as appetizers, and I really enjoyed both for the quality of ingredients they used. The calamari was pretty thick, and that made for a more chewy texture. It's probably some of the thickest calamari I've had. The pork belly also had a nice texture, and it wasn't too dry. We also got the salmon steak and short rib tacos. The short rib was excellent, and it makes me want to get their short rib main course on my next visit. It was prepared with the right amount of seasoning and garnish, and even with a lot of contents, the tortillas still held up well and nothing fell apart. We ended the night with the Nutella cheesecake, and I liked that it wasn't too heavy compared to other cheesecake I've had. I especially loved the crust underneath. The only thing that was a miss for me was the Ho'chata cocktail, as it tasted too much like cough syrup. They did have a lot of other cocktails that I'd be interested in trying on another visit.

Well, it would've been nice if the server and kitchen were on the same page about when they stopped serving food. It would also be REALLY nice if there were hours POSTED, as well. Ugh. Wasted almost $5 for a watered down soda. Like...at least comp me for the soda since you wasted my time? Oh well. At least I know this is one restaurant I won't be going back to anytime.

We love coming here for the good food, good service and the awesome live jazz on saturday nights. There is seating outside and inside. On nice evenings, the jazz band will be setup outside, so you will want to sit outside if you want to see them. Foodwise, highly recommend the braised short rib. Sooooo good.

If you decide to visit I suggest making reservations. We sat outside and it was fine but cars and motorcycles deice down the alley and it could be loud or smelly. Had the pork belly, breaded jalapeño with cheddar, old time burger and the damn good good short rib. The pork belly was okay. It had a vinaigrette sauce drizzled on it and I think it would have been better to use citrus base sauce. Everything else came out fine. Service was quick and friendly. They also had a live band playing which was nice.

Just happened to be walking around looking for Sunday brunch. This was one of the only few places open around 11am that didn't have an hour wait time. We were seated right away and they brought waters for the table. The brunch menu was small and there wasn't a lot of options but I opted for the Short Rib Chilaquiles. They came in a red sauce. Wasn't spicy at all but flavorful nonetheless. The tortilla chips were crispy and the eggs were perfectly runny. I do think this place is more a evening/late night spot. They do have different specials for different days of the week. Some tables were already reserved when we walked in so maybe best to call ahead for reservations for bigger parties. The noise level was pretty high and I had a hard time hearing the person in front of me once people started coming in and it got busier. But service was great, our server was friendly and came in to check in a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely return for the chilaquiles.

My second time at this establishment and it will not be the last. The vibes? Immaculate. Intriguing art, warm lighting, old timey black and white movies, a trio of older dudes playing jazz music. These are all things we love. Went on a Wednesday and got a half priced bottle of wine (sake) that's a hell of a deal!! My server? So kind. So attentive. Kept my water topped up. I love that. Hydration is key! I got the Potato Wrapped Snapper, and I don't know what I was expecting, but it took me by surprise. Not exactly my favorite, but our potato skins were delicious (bacon a bit overcooked for our liking) and my husband absolutely Got DOWN on the pastrami sandwich. He says it was perfect.

Jocelyn was an attentive server for our Sunday brunch. The spicy chicken sandwich was the perfect combination of crispy and tender chicken. The ambiance was spot on. Thank you Pasadena for an epic Pokémon Go brunch to refuel !

Tired the popcorn chicken (surprised to see Asian seasoning and not spicy) and spicy calamari (also Asian seasoning and the way they cut it is often seen in Asian restaurants, but not spicy). For drinks, had the mezcal and papa noels margarita (tequila but kinda sad I didn't like the candy thingy and wasted it). Would get the Mezal again. FYI if ur an alcoholic (no judgement) there's bottomless mimosas starting at $18 (brunch entree req.) Tried thats a lot of protien $19 which was a steak and eggs plate with brussel sprouts and potatoes as sides. It is a safe choice and fair priced. The braised short ribs chilaquilles $19 was very flavorful and the tortilla was soak with flavor but still had a bit of a crunch left! Getting the sunny side up eggs is the best idea for this cuz you can dip into the runny yolk.

went here for the bottomless mimosas deal on a Sunday morning, got a total of 13 rounds for the $22 and i was not drunk or buzzed, keep in mind, at other locations 2 mimosas and im done. This was the same feeling throughout my whole party. Food was delicious but unfortunately the drink experience made it disappointing since we had ubered looking for a fun sunday.

This is a really chill cozy place in old town Pasadena that serves brunch, happy hour, and dinner We love the vibes and live music at night We tried their brunch recently and had a great server named Bianca, she was warm, accommodating and made us feel like family. She constantly checked on us and made sure we were always comfortable. Thank you Bianca!

We were here to see some live jazz, and in my reservation, I asked for a seat where we could see the band. They placed us across the alley at a table (they have a bunch of tables there, kind of like a patio), and it was perfect. Beautiful summer evening, sitting outside with twinkling lights, sort of makes it feel like you're somewhere in Europe. The ambiance was amazing here. The food is pretty good - not super special or anything....except the snapper. When it says potato wrapped, it means POTATO wrapped. It was coated with what my partner called "angel hair hashbrowns", which were surprisingly light and crispy, and a HUGE bed of sweet mashed potatoes. And some garlic spinach. We also got the fried mushrooms (these come with ranch and was probably the least interesting dish - they just use plain ol' button mushrooms), and the fancy salad, which was pretty fancy, but I kind of found it a bit underwhelming. The fancy part is that they just throw in a bunch of berries, dried figs, candied walnuts, and some fried cranberry goat cheese (which might have justified the "fancy" in the name). But the dressing was kind of a simple sweet vinegarette, and I think it putting a little bit more innovation into the dressing would have made the dish sparkle. Parking in the Delacey lot - $2 for the first 2 hours, $1 each hour thereafter. Bathrooms are gender neutral and single-stalled. The jazz was great. And it was nice to see people walking through. Some cars came through the alley too, but not too many.

This was my first time. The server girl was very friendly without crossing the border. I love her. The cocktails are very good. A little pricier though. We had the calamari and Brussels sprouts and both were cooked perfectly. One thing I didn't like was that door is always open so the flies are around you.

    Christian R.

The service and and ambiance of the establishment is great. Never had a problem with the servers in all of my times I have been here. Bryan for one is an amazing and outgoing worker who always greets my buddies and I. Food is also great, I personally recommend the burgers. All in all, if you enjoy Jazz and cheap but good liquor which I believe is Tuesdays and Thursdays, I highly recommend this place.

I've been going to them more and more, and The Lucky Tiki was one I definitely had to try out. First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

They serve lukewarm water and the a/c was on but was not on ..if u catch my drift. The front hostess was also phenomenal, I had reservation for outdoor seating but since she saw that the sun was like glaring, she asked if I wanted to change to inside. Very obliging and accommodating. Food: 5 stars, surprisingly good, right amount for us. I was full but I can see where other reviewers say portions are small. It's small if u're a heavy eater. But the quality is definitely there. Ambiance: trendy, high energy, casual vibes where u can lounge and have a beer while munching on fries...or u can choose to be poshy and have a glass of wine with a salad and Chilean sea bass. It's flexible to accommodate both as there are different sections. Parking: street metered 1 hour parking. 3 stars, not their fault but 1 hour is simply not enough. It can get super busy and the server can be pulled left and right, so cut them some slack during super busy hours. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended .

We were here for a work event and had a few cocktails, and it was such an enjoyable experience. If you're staying on the property, this is absolutely worth stopping by for a couple of drinks. Great views, friendly people, and an easy walk from your room.

Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

    Cannonball - Buttermilk biscuits

Cannonball, delicious food, delivered cannonball speed!…read more My wife and I went to Cannonball on a Saturday night ready for a relaxed dinner. The food is fantastic. Seriously. Creative flavors, well executed dishes, everything we had was excellent. But the pacing? Absolute chaos. We ordered Negronis (an apéritif, meaning the drink is supposed to come before the meal). Two food dishes landed on the table before the cocktails even showed up. Then the rest of the plates began arriving at what can only be described as cannonball speed. We were still eating one dish while another server materialized with the next like a food ninja. Our tiny table looked like a game of culinary Tetris. In and out in 45 minutes on a Saturday night. Great if you're power-lunching with clients. Less great if you're trying to linger over dinner. Bottom line: fantastic food. Just know the kitchen fires dishes like they're loading artillery. Eat fast or get buried.
