My wife and I came by to Edwin Mills a few Mondays ago to redeem our SGV passport deal. I believe you must have reservations to dine in and we had them for around 6pm. The locations had a great atmosphere and energy. I believe Mondays has a great happy hour menu per the server and live music. We came to here specifically to redeem the deal a BOGO appetizer and drink. The waiter was fine and explained briefly what we could or for a proper redemption. He was nice, but redeeming the deal can be a bit confusing on which menu of drinks you can choose from. Either way we were taken care of and food was great. The location is a small space inside but seating is unique as the booths have pillows. The food we ordered were the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and The Braised Pork Belly along with our 2 drinks. The appetizers were delicious! That pork belly was juicy and crispy. It had an explosion of flavors. The Brussel sprouts paired nicely. The texture and flavors were awesome. I'd recommend both! We had this amazing server named Vanessa and she had the best customer service. She made a great recommendation for my buffalo chicken sandwich and it was delicious. She was also just super friendly. The vibes were great. The music was upbeat. The cocktails were only three dollars during happy hour! It was just so lively and fun. My friend and I stayed for four hours. Both were very fresh and my favorite was the one with the berries. The beef taco was also pretty good as it had a lot of flavor. I was disappointed in the fish taco and also the pasta dish. Both were lacking in flavor but I was extra disappointed in the fish as it didn't taste fresh. My husband and I love to come here for date night! Service is always prompt and extremely friendly. The inside of the place is dark & romantic, with live music to make it too notch! Not pictured is the fried pickle appetizer, delicious! We love fried pickles & this place is one of our favorite spots to get some! Excellent gastropub in Pasadena when it comes to food, service and ambiance. We got the calamari and pork belly as appetizers, and I really enjoyed both for the quality of ingredients they used. The calamari was pretty thick, and that made for a more chewy texture. It's probably some of the thickest calamari I've had. The pork belly also had a nice texture, and it wasn't too dry. We also got the salmon steak and short rib tacos. The short rib was excellent, and it makes me want to get their short rib main course on my next visit. It was prepared with the right amount of seasoning and garnish, and even with a lot of contents, the tortillas still held up well and nothing fell apart. We ended the night with the Nutella cheesecake, and I liked that it wasn't too heavy compared to other cheesecake I've had. I especially loved the crust underneath. The only thing that was a miss for me was the Ho'chata cocktail, as it tasted too much like cough syrup. Solo dining one Friday evening. Had a wonderful time on the outside patio, seated close to the band. Black and Blue Burger with fries, aioli and a cocktail. Server was genuinely friendly and observant without lingering too much. Couldn't ask for more. Burger I had with blue cheese was tasty. Now - there is a bbq joint with the smell of smoke and meat not far from here so if your goal is an amazing burger then probably that place because what can be better than some smoke on a burger? Ordered Apps. Popcorn chicken and onion rings. They were what was expected as far as flavor. ​The Shepherd's Pie was a little devoid of seasoning. ​The House Burger was okay. It won't offend you, but it certainly won't make you write home about it. ​The Short Rib was the almost the lone survivor and hero of the evening but there was a tragic error. Serving warm flavorful meat on cold, old risotto is a bold move...and not in a good way. At least the price was right (shoutout to the BOGO passport). Our server was very nice and helpful but we were sitting at our table for about 10 minutes before anybody came over. The table was also missing place settings until the food came and was slightly dirty. Food started coming out quickly but was quite scattered. For example we had finished all of our entrees and had been sitting chatting for about 10 minutes before our last starter came out. The grilled chicken added on to the simple greens salad was very yummy and well-cooked. My friend said his back and bleu burger was slightly underdone. The spicy calamari was quite rubbery/chewy and needed salt. The crispy brussel sprouts were a bit underwhelming. However the baked Brie was very good. The only thing I've ever had here is the potato-wrapped snapper. I've been here at least a half dozen times, and each time I intend to try something different, but no. Tried thats a lot of protien $19 which was a steak and eggs plate with brussel sprouts and potatoes as sides. It is a safe choice and fair priced. The braised short ribs chilaquilles $19 was very flavorful and the tortilla was soak with flavor but still had a bit of a crunch left! Came across Edwin Mills unexpectedly one Saturday evening and it's been a Pasadena favorite for my family and I since! What captivated us was the live music, vibrant energy and the outside patio. It's so enjoyable. Since our first stop, we've been back a couple of times. Once for just drinks, vibes and dessert, and most recently for an early Father's Day dinner. Bea was not only a wonderful waitress but an overall pleasant person. She made us feel even more at home and treated us like family/regulars. She checked in on my family and I with great care and gave us lovely recommendations. The Sauvignon Blanc she suggested paired really well with our dinner. We were here to see some live jazz, and in my reservation, I asked for a seat where we could see the band. They placed us across the alley at a table (they have a bunch of tables there, kind of like a patio), and it was perfect. Beautiful summer evening, sitting outside with twinkling lights, sort of makes it feel like you're somewhere in Europe. The ambiance was amazing here. The food is pretty good - not super special or anything....except the snapper. When it says potato wrapped, it means POTATO wrapped. It was coated with what my partner called "angel hair hashbrowns", which were surprisingly light and crispy, and a HUGE bed of sweet mashed potatoes. And some garlic spinach. We also got the fried mushrooms (these come with ranch and was probably the least interesting dish - they just use plain ol' button mushrooms), and the fancy salad, which was pretty fancy, but I kind of found it a bit underwhelming. The fancy part is that they just throw in a bunch of berries, dried figs, candied walnuts, and some fried cranberry goat cheese (which might have justified the "fancy" in the name). But the dressing was kind of a simple sweet vinegarette, and I think it putting a little bit more innovation into the dressing would have made the dish sparkle. Parking in the Delacey lot - $2 for the first 2 hours, $1 each hour thereafter. Bathrooms are gender neutral and single-stalled. The jazz was great. And it was nice to see people walking through. Just happened to be walking around looking for Sunday brunch. This was one of the only few places open around 11am that didn't have an hour wait time. We were seated right away and they brought waters for the table. The brunch menu was small and there wasn't a lot of options but I opted for the Short Rib Chilaquiles. They came in a red sauce. Wasn't spicy at all but flavorful nonetheless. The tortilla chips were crispy and the eggs were perfectly runny. I do think this place is more a evening/late night spot. They do have different specials for different days of the week. Some tables were already reserved when we walked in so maybe best to call ahead for reservations for bigger parties. The noise level was pretty high and I had a hard time hearing the person in front of me once people started coming in and it got busier. But service was great, our server was friendly and came in to check in a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely return for the chilaquiles. read more

First time trying this place, thanks to the SGV Passport. I went here on a Friday night with my bf and was seated right away. We ordered: The Bolognese was very meaty and savory. The sauce was rich and flavorful . The meat was tender and had just the right amount of seasoning, paired with perfectly al dente pasta. It was a comforting meal. The Pork Belly was a true showstopper. The skin had an amazing crispiness that contrasted beautifully with the tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat. The dish was balanced with a slight sweetness from the glaze and savory undertones that made each bite incredibly satisfying. Definitely a must-try! And the Mac & Cheese--wow. This was the creamy, cheesy comfort food everyone dreams of. The cheese sauce was rich and velvety, and the pasta was perfectly coated. Met up here for a birthday dinner with my girls and we had such a nice experience! Drinks were beautiful, food and service were excellent, and the vibes were relaxed and fun, especially with the live music outside - a really great meetup spot in Old Pasadena! For drinks our party had The Empress (gin cocktail), Lavish Hibiscus (tequila cocktail), Lola Fairy Berry (vodka cocktail), and a Pineapple Coconut Mojito. Their drink presentation was definitely gram-worthy - and our party loved all of them except the Lavish Hibiscus (too bitter). But they happily exchanged it for another choice (no charge for the untouched drink) - so definitely high quality customer service here! For food we shared a bunch of their appetizers - the Mac 'N Cheese, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Breaded Zucchini, and some fries. Everything was plated beautifully and utterly delicious- especially the Brussel sprouts - they were my fave! You're going to want to Uber because 1) bottomless and 2) the restaurant is in a quaint little side street and parking seemed far and hard to find. Their interior is on the smaller side and seemed geared towards more intimate groups. Our party of 5 was seated promptly across the way at a shaded table when we arrived, and our server was incredibly gracious and awesome at conversation while continually ensuring we had everything we needed. I believe you can only get bottomless if you order an actual dish, so i tried their bananas foster pancakes. The rum-flambeed bananas were well caramelized and the pancakes were decent, made better with the chantilly cream. Their parmesan fries and hash were also as good as they get. The mimosas were excellent - dare I say heavier on the champagne than I anticipated. Suffice it to say that my limits were tested that day on an assortment of flavors that just couldn't miss. My favorites included the French, which was a combination of two of the flavors (I forgot) and the lychee. Well, they ran out of my favorite short ribs. So instead I ordered two orders of short rib tacos. I could only eat one order of them so I planned to take the other two home. I was surprised when the sales person said they did not have the covers for the sauce cups. I found this to be a horrible oversight. The Music on the Musicians break was loud and irritating. I had to ask them to turn it down. I've been here many times, but this night was off. I'm sorry. Bryan for one is an amazing and outgoing worker who always greets my buddies and I. Food is also great, I personally recommend the burgers. I visited Edwin Mills by Equator in Pasadena with a very large group, and we had made reservations ahead of time since we were all meeting up after an event the night before. When I say large group, I mean large. People were seated at different tables, friends were rotating in and out of the group, new faces arriving while others were leaving. It was definitely a lively breakfast situation. The food was decent overall, I'd rate it about 3.5 out of 5. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what I ordered, but I do remember enjoying the meal. One thing to note is that the food took a very long time to come out. The staff did seem overwhelmed, which is understandable given the size of our group and how much movement there was between tables. That said, in restaurant service there's usually a way to manage those moments through communication and overall presence. Sometimes facial expressions, tone, and body language can make a big difference in how the experience feels for guests. I will say they did try to make up for the delay and comped us with some free shots, which was appreciated. Honestly, the company I was with made the experience better, so we still had a good time. I'd rate the experience around 3 out of 5. I'd be open to coming back and trying the food again under more normal circumstances to give the restaurant a more balanced review. Their happy hour specials truly can't be beaten ($3 martinis during the week, $22 bottomless mimosas during the weekend, half of appetizers, and more!) this is an eclectic spot with interesting art, comfortable seating and great outside seating options in the alley. The service is always on point and staff is always personable and has only ever added to my experience. I've never been disappointed by the food here either from their pork belly (5/5; delicious, perfectly cooked and amazing sauce) to their fluffcakes to their chilaquiles short ribs (5/5; great flavor. Awesome sauce and beautiful eggs on top). And every lychee flavored drink on their menu is delicious. This is one of my go to Pasadena spots for a reason!
