Braised Pork Belly & Crispy Brussels Sprouts. ( ^_^)b

My wife and I came by to Edwin Mills a few Mondays ago to redeem our SGV passport deal. I believe you must have reservations to dine in and we had them for around 6pm. The locations had a great atmosphere and energy. I believe Mondays has a great happy hour menu per the server and live music. We came to here specifically to redeem the deal a BOGO appetizer and drink. The waiter was fine and explained briefly what we could or for a proper redemption. He was nice, but redeeming the deal can be a bit confusing on which menu of drinks you can choose from. Either way we were taken care of and food was great. The location is a small space inside but seating is unique as the booths have pillows. The food we ordered were the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and The Braised Pork Belly along with our 2 drinks. The appetizers were delicious! That pork belly was juicy and crispy. It had an explosion of flavors. The Brussel sprouts paired nicely. The texture and flavors were awesome. I'd recommend both! Overall, I liked the food and vibe. The menu has many opt and I think Mondays would be a great time to comeback as it's half off appetizers. ( ^_^)b

We had this amazing server named Vanessa and she had the best customer service. She made a great recommendation for my buffalo chicken sandwich and it was delicious. She was also just super friendly. The vibes were great. The music was upbeat. The cocktails were only three dollars during happy hour! It was just so lively and fun. My friend and I stayed for four hours. The onion rings were tasty too! Will come back!

Came here as a party of 5 and while service was really good, the food was nothing too special. We ordered some dishes to share and I really enjoyed the 2 salad that we ordered. Both were very fresh and my favorite was the one with the berries. The beef taco was also pretty good as it had a lot of flavor. I was disappointed in the fish taco and also the pasta dish. Both were lacking in flavor but I was extra disappointed in the fish as it didn't taste fresh. Overall a pretty standard place and price wasn't too bad for the location, but I probably won't be returning for their food.

My husband and I love to come here for date night! Service is always prompt and extremely friendly. The inside of the place is dark & romantic, with live music to make it too notch! Not pictured is the fried pickle appetizer, delicious! We love fried pickles & this place is one of our favorite spots to get some! We've visited a couple times and got different meals each time, we have yet to be disappointed by anything. We will be back!

Excellent gastropub in Pasadena when it comes to food, service and ambiance. We got the calamari and pork belly as appetizers, and I really enjoyed both for the quality of ingredients they used. The calamari was pretty thick, and that made for a more chewy texture. It's probably some of the thickest calamari I've had. The pork belly also had a nice texture, and it wasn't too dry. We also got the salmon steak and short rib tacos. The short rib was excellent, and it makes me want to get their short rib main course on my next visit. It was prepared with the right amount of seasoning and garnish, and even with a lot of contents, the tortillas still held up well and nothing fell apart. We ended the night with the Nutella cheesecake, and I liked that it wasn't too heavy compared to other cheesecake I've had. I especially loved the crust underneath. The only thing that was a miss for me was the Ho'chata cocktail, as it tasted too much like cough syrup. They did have a lot of other cocktails that I'd be interested in trying on another visit.

Solo dining one Friday evening. Had a wonderful time on the outside patio, seated close to the band. Black and Blue Burger with fries, aioli and a cocktail. Server was genuinely friendly and observant without lingering too much. Couldn't ask for more. Burger I had with blue cheese was tasty. Now - there is a bbq joint with the smell of smoke and meat not far from here so if your goal is an amazing burger then probably that place because what can be better than some smoke on a burger? But I was equally interested in vibe and experience. And this looked like the place. Live music from a band of musicians who know a thing or two about life, and have a fantastic R&B old school set! Diners enjoying the music and the show, just like me. People walking by, stopping to dance. And quality food. As a solo diner I didn't feel awkward or left out. I felt apart of the experience. It was a perfect choice for the night.

Stopped in because I had an SGV Passport BOGO coupon burning a hole in my pocket, and thank goodness for that discount, because if I'd paid full price for a meal this aggressively average, my review would be a lot less polite. I felt like this place is a bar that is masquerading as a restaurant. The ambiance is actually great. It has a quirky, old-style pub feel with some interesting artwork on the walls. The service, however, moved at a very slow pace. If you're looking to nurse a pint and contemplate life, it's perfect. If you're actually hungry, you might start eyeing the table decor. We sat down for an early dinner and the food was a mixed bag. Ordered Apps. Popcorn chicken and onion rings. They were what was expected as far as flavor. The Shepherd's Pie was a little devoid of seasoning. The House Burger was okay. It won't offend you, but it certainly won't make you write home about it. The Short Rib was the almost the lone survivor and hero of the evening but there was a tragic error. Serving warm flavorful meat on cold, old risotto is a bold move...and not in a good way. At least the price was right (shoutout to the BOGO passport). It's a neat little spot to grab a drink and soak in the atmosphere, and watch some sports on their TVs. As far as dinner goes, it's a one-and-done adventure for us.

Well, it would've been nice if the server and kitchen were on the same page about when they stopped serving food. It would also be REALLY nice if there were hours POSTED, as well. Ugh. Wasted almost $5 for a watered down soda. Like...at least comp me for the soda since you wasted my time? Oh well. At least I know this is one restaurant I won't be going back to anytime.

Bee provided a FANTASTIC SERVICE. Super nice, very responsive, very accommodating, and the sweetest! Highly recommendable. Will come back for sure!

We love coming here for the good food, good service and the awesome live jazz on saturday nights. There is seating outside and inside. On nice evenings, the jazz band will be setup outside, so you will want to sit outside if you want to see them. Foodwise, highly recommend the braised short rib. Sooooo good.

    Spicy Calamari

Our server was very nice and helpful but we were sitting at our table for about 10 minutes before anybody came over. The table was also missing place settings until the food came and was slightly dirty. Food started coming out quickly but was quite scattered. For example we had finished all of our entrees and had been sitting chatting for about 10 minutes before our last starter came out. The grilled chicken added on to the simple greens salad was very yummy and well-cooked. My friend said his back and bleu burger was slightly underdone. The spicy calamari was quite rubbery/chewy and needed salt. The crispy brussel sprouts were a bit underwhelming. However the baked Brie was very good. We also enjoyed the ambiance and live music.

If you decide to visit I suggest making reservations. We sat outside and it was fine but cars and motorcycles deice down the alley and it could be loud or smelly. Had the pork belly, breaded jalapeño with cheddar, old time burger and the damn good good short rib. The pork belly was okay. It had a vinaigrette sauce drizzled on it and I think it would have been better to use citrus base sauce. Everything else came out fine. Service was quick and friendly. They also had a live band playing which was nice.

Tired the popcorn chicken (surprised to see Asian seasoning and not spicy) and spicy calamari (also Asian seasoning and the way they cut it is often seen in Asian restaurants, but not spicy). For drinks, had the mezcal and papa noels margarita (tequila but kinda sad I didn't like the candy thingy and wasted it). Would get the Mezal again. FYI if ur an alcoholic (no judgement) there's bottomless mimosas starting at $18 (brunch entree req.) Tried thats a lot of protien $19 which was a steak and eggs plate with brussel sprouts and potatoes as sides. It is a safe choice and fair priced. The braised short ribs chilaquilles $19 was very flavorful and the tortilla was soak with flavor but still had a bit of a crunch left! Getting the sunny side up eggs is the best idea for this cuz you can dip into the runny yolk.

I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

As a I grew up in Highland Park I took my wife to visit The Arroyo Club bar to celebrate her recent promotion after the bar was recommended to us by a close friend. We were looking forward to a fun evening and decided to participate in the trivia game being hosted that night. After receiving an answer sheet from the host, Matt, my wife and I began playing. The trivia topic was based on an older television show that we were unfamiliar with, and we initially used our phones to look up answers. A male individual approached us and informed us that using our phones was considered cheating. We accepted that explanation, stopped using our phones, and continued playing. Later in the evening, I observed bartender Justin speaking with the same individual and appearing to provide him with answers. When I questioned how that was different from what we had been told not to do, Justin stated that it was not cheating because they were part of a group. I responded that it was only a game and not a serious issue, especially considering my wife and I had only accumulated a few points. At that point, the interaction became uncomfortable. Justin informed the host that my wife and I should be disqualified for cheating, despite the fact that we had stopped using our phones when instructed. The employee who had originally confronted us also became increasingly confrontational, which my wife and I found intimidating. I later asked another bartender, Zach, what the concern was, and he explained that the winning prize was $50. While I understand the importance of maintaining fair rules, the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily hostile and embarrassing. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we appeared to be the only minority guests present at the time, and we observed other patrons using their phones without being confronted. This left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. My wife attempted to discuss how the situation made us feel with a female bartender who had blue hair. Unfortunately, her reaction appeared dismissive, and our concerns did not seem to be taken seriously. As we prepared to leave, the employee who had initially confronted us remained nearby staring in our direction, which further contributed to our discomfort. For reference, we were seated at the right corner of the bar if you were facing the bar from the front. I am not seeking compensation. Rather, I hope management will review the events of that evening, including any available security footage and discussions with staff members present. No guest should leave feeling targeted, embarrassed, or unwelcome while simply trying to enjoy a night out celebrating a special occasion.

Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Would it kill them to add a veggie burger? Service is consistently awful. I've been here half a dozen times and I've never had good service. Drinks and water are never refilled unless I ask. It takes forever to get our order and once we do our server disappears. Seriously so bad. But I keep coming back for their good food.

Because this is a hotel bar since it's situated in The Langham 5-star luxury hotel, the drinks are expensive like $25 starting. One of my friends got a lemon-based mocktail (pretty good) and I got Cosmopolitan-type cocktail with Prosecco (pretty solid and not overly sweet, just not one of the best cocktails I tried). Another friend ordered Negroni, which is a potent cocktail with a bitter sharp, dry aftertaste. I could hardly taste any hint of sweetness in the drink. My friend thought it was too bitter, too. Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

We sat inside the restaurant but you can also reserve outdoor seating. The staff was very welcoming and too the time to explain the menu to us. Their dishes are shareable and I suggest about 4-5 dishes for a party of three. Off their menu we ordered the fried calamari, the buttermilk biscuits, yellow fin tuna tartare, the fideos clams and the barbecue chicken. Everything was delicious but our favorite was the buttermilk biscuits! Please keep in mind that the biscuits take about 20 minutes to make so please order in advance. Overall the food and ambiance were delightful and I can't wait to go back! For parking, there is street parking around the area but may be difficult since there are quite a few restaurants around sharing rhe space. There is a public parking structure down Meridian street, near heirloom bakery. We went on the weekend and the parking structure was free to park.

The way we were greeted and shown to our seats, you would have thought we were VIPs. Everyone was so friendly to us, and made us feel extremely welcomed. I truly think that every staff member we walked by from the door to our bar seats said hello and welcomed us to the restaurant. I don't know how to describe the level of service other than it was Masterclass. Special thank you to Wolf, our bartender/server a the upstairs bar. Yes his name is Wolf, and he's just as awesome as his name. So friendly and attentive. As for food, Wolf recommended we try the biscuits and I'm so glad he did because it was not something that I would have ordered had it not been for him. Literally the best biscuits I've ever had in my entire life. There is no other biscuit that comes close. It's exactly as it is described on the menu... flaky and buttery. It's an experience, truly. Even if biscuits were not what you thought you were going to order, just get them anyways. You have to try them. Just do it. GET THE BISCUITS! Other than the biscuits, we got the following: Calamari - some of the best I've had in awhile. Crunchy and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Cooked perfectly. Hanger Steak - I didn't specify the doneness but it came rare which was perfect for me. The steak was great, I enjoyed every bite, but the mashed potatoes were EPIC lol. Burger & Fries - The fries in particular were amazing. HUGE portion, very crispy, and well seasoned. As for the burger, I liked the simplicity of it. However, I think it was way over cooked. I personally like my burgers to be a bit more juicy and medium doneness. The Bill - beware of the 4% surcharge. I don't really understand these things. Just price the food how you want to price it rather than adding a 4% surcharge to the final bill. Also, their suggested tip is calculated using the Total including tax rather than the subtotal. So basically you're tipping the tax lol. So aside from the bill and a little underwhelming burger everything else was absolutely incredible.
