I liked the ambiance. The vibe is trendy. We sat inside but they have a cute area for outdoor seating (perfect for summer). We ordered happy hour drink specials, the well drinks & martinis. They also offered happy hour food which we take part in. The guac & chips were amazing (one of the best), taco special and added a salad to complete our happy hour happiness :-). As for the service, I felt it was fine, the waiter did accommodate us with drink request and answered our questions on food items. My friends on the other hand felt the waiter was dry & just was there to complete the transaction. I believe I will return to experience another happy hour :-)

I'm honestly surprised this place isn't more hyped because it has such a good atmosphere. It's super spacious with a ton of outdoor seating in both the front and back, plus this huge dining hall area. My date told me it used to be an old fire station from the 1920s, which definitely adds to the vibe. The whole place just feels really cool and unique, and I thought it was honestly so pretty. We went on a Wednesday night so it was basically empty idk if it's usually busy or not. The food was good, nothing super groundbreaking or out of the ordinary for me, but this is definitely more of a vibe spot in the best way possible. Our server was also really sweet. She noticed my nails were long and helped me out, plus gave me a really good drink recommendation, I think it was some kind of strawberry daiquiri, and I loved it. Overall, really good experience and I'd definitely come back.

Love Edendale. Beautiful, spacious vibe that nails the bar-meets-restaurant feel. Great front + back patio seating, so it's an easy go-to whether you want drinks or a full meal. Service is consistently friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Happy hour is legit: Monday 5-10pm, Tues-Fri 5-7pm, with solid deals on both food and drinks. Definitely one of the better happy hours in the neighborhood.

I just discovered Edendale today from some new Yelp friends of mine and decided to come try it out with my son. There is so much history embedded in this place! The area we now know as Silver Lake used to be called Edendale back in the day during the era of silent films, which is what the restaurant is named after. You can see black and white photos of stars from that era in the room where you first enter the restaurant. The building itself used to be a fire station and was later transformed into this restaurant in 2000. Very cool and neat backstory! It's a pretty big place with different rooms, a full bar and a beautiful patio. They even had a photo booth. The restaurant and bathrooms were also spotless clean. We were greeted by the lovely Becca and she took us to our table. Levi was our server and he was very kind and easy to talk to. He got our order in swiftly and everything came out correct and on time. For drinks, my son got the Bengal Tiger ($15) and I had an Apple Martini ($12 and light on the alcohol!). We shared a Caesar Salad with Grilled Shrimp ($25) and a side of Brussels Sprouts ($14). The salad was FRESH and the lettuce was crunchy. The shrimp was delicious and cooked to perfection, as were the Brussels Sprouts. For our entrees, Jaime brought out our orders with a smile. I ordered the Steak Frites ($40) and it was absolutely divine. It was exactly what a medium rare steak should be like. So juicy and flavorful, it melts in your mouth. My son got the Chicken Breast Au Jus ($27) which came with Celery Root Puree, Brussels Sprouts and Apple Cider Gastrique. He said he loved his food and wiped his plate clean. He said the chicken was very flavorful and juicy and cooked perfectly. We opted for no dessert this time around but we might get something sweet next time we're here. It's a bit of a pricey place but honestly, the quality was great and we very much enjoyed the service, ambiance, and history. Thank you Becca, Levi, Jaime, and Edendale for a lovely night!

First time coming here on a Friday and I'm shocked it took me this long to stumble upon this gem. It was busy for a Friday night, but we were able to find a table right away after ordering our drinks. They have a great selection of drink options, though we decided to keep it simple with mezcal on the rocks. I loved the aesthetics and overall vibe of this place. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

I came here with a couple of good friends for a late birthday celebration and what a meal we enjoyed. Shoutout to Levi that provided top-tier service and went above and beyond for us. I had the Spicy Rigatoni Allá Vodka and it was one of the best bowls of pasta I've eaten in the past DECADE (yes, it was that good). A friend ordered the Chicken Breast Au Jus and it tasted as good as you'd expect a chicken breast to taste... so, mid flavor but it truly is juicy and not dry at all (it's quite difficult to cook a chicken breast that's actually an appealing dish). My other friend ordered the Salmon Succotash and that was great. We also got a Charcuteried & Cheeses board to share amongst us (we had to get a 2nd order of the bread (at no extra cost) since the first one ran out rather quickly), and that was stellar as well. 10/10 food and 10/10 service.

Pretty cool spot with roomy backyard. Vibes is 1920s, or artsy casual. It's quite cute. I usually would not order chicken breast but it was surprisingly good. Crispy skin and meat was not dry at all. Mussels were delicious too. Happy hours 5- 7 pm (Tuesday to Sunday) & 5-10 pm on Mondays.

Went for a night out with friends and ended up staying longer for the vibe of the space. First things first, the other reviews are 100% correct when it comes to parking being difficult. Edendale is tucked away on a very busy street with limited street parking and even in the surrounding neighborhood we found it tedious with the amount of tow away signs, so plan ahead. Our group of four went on a Wednesday night so it wasn't busy at all, we decided to sit in the front outside area. Music playing, low lights, candles and greenery. Which be careful if you sit near the plants, lots of spiders and ants during our meal (yikes.) Service was great. Server was very chill and made sure to check in multiple times. Food was standard and drinks were good but nothing life changing. All in all what a cool space, Edendale being an old firehouse makes the ambiance really unique. There is a couple outside areas, one out front and closer to the back near the restrooms. Lots of options to sit inside or outside. Wouldn't necessarily go for the food but a very nice place to catch up with loved ones over a candle lit cocktail hour.

Edendale is an area of Silver Lake that used to be a major center for silent films. The restaurant feels like a mini museum of sorts of the silent film era with it's wall of pictures featuring actors of that time. The restaurant is in a former 1920's firehouse and has a patio that reminds you of a place in Europe, so it feels like a nice getaway spot from all of the city noise and traffic. The food is good but it's your standard American food. The cheeseburger I ordered was good but nothing special. The crafted drinks at the long beautiful bar are worth going to Edendale. And the openness at the bar allows one to rest without feeling cramped like some bar vibes can give you.

Sigh... another day in L.A., another pointless 17 dollar carbohydrate missile posing as a burrito. Just, stop. You're not jazzing it up with the dreaded Sysco tator tot. ("Letting Tator Tots Die" is another review I will leave elsewhere.) This particular Edendale version was dry and spirtiless. Not one spec of a fresh herb in sight. A tiny ramekin of tomato mulch posing as salsa was given to us. But frankly I have seen better flavor samples at the Alhambra Costco. I should have known better to trust a place that is filled with cigarette smoke at 11 a.m. on a Saturday. Smoking is permitted in the back garden area, but when the front door is open the smoke wafts through the entire restaurant and bar. The irony of this happening in a former fire house is not lost on me. Service was fine, if not tepid. My cocktail as fine, but it was mezcal, so smokiness was in-line with my olfactory sense. The biggest burn was the $4 upcharge for avocado. We are in California - get over yourself, Edendale.

Charm oozes onto the street from Edendale's entrance.

There is something about Silver Lake that really speaks to me. In some ways, it reminds me of NYC where I grew up, i.e., the oldness, realness, grittiness even, but with the golden glow of Los Angeles. Because it is such an interesting area, it has a lot of one of a kind, niche restaurants. I think Edendale is one. Why? It's very pretty, quaint, old-fashioned, and comfortable. Originally, I had planned to sit inside but it was a warm, sunny February day and the lovely outdoor patio called to me. The entire time we were there, little unseen birds serenaded us and we were shielded from the road by a gorgeous wall of red and pink bougainvillea. Everything was delicious. We had vegetarian brunch items (see my pictures), ginger ale and coffee American style. I could not improve on any of it. Becca was a perfect server, efficient, friendly, cheerful and other staff stopped by to take care of us while we were there. It does seem like a team effort to keep patrons happy and it works. There were even some very well behaved pups that appeared to be enjoying their visit too. By the way, the prices are very modest for Los Angeles. We were very pleasantly surprised at the tab and there was no automatic charge. I cannot think of one element I would change at Edendale. I want a place like this to be here, exactly as it is, forever.

    Jason Y.

Great historic building. Love the architecture of this spot. Drinks are great. Only tried the biscuits and probably wouldn't try it again. Would love to try the other items. Lots of flies and ants though which bothered me quite a lot.

The bartender never even looked up at us while we ordered. On top of that, we then asked him a seemingly normal question about the fries in which he plainly replied, "I've never had them". By the time we ordered and got seated it was around 8pm. But by 9pm he started cleaning around us and stacking chairs even though the hours say closing is at 10pm. Dayne makes an announcement for last call at 9:24pm then abruptly kicks us out a little before 9:40pm saying on slow nights they reserve the right to close early. Mind you, we would have NEVER come if we knew this and would have gladly gone to one of other actual friendly, warm, and hospitable businesses on this block. It was a horrible experience that left us visibly uncomfortable and disappointed. I will never come back and would never recommend this place to anyone. 0/10

I came with my buddy after a Dodger game and even though we lost the game, we were able to drown our sorrows with delicious tropical cocktails in unique and fun glassware adorn by elaborate garnishes. The service was also first class. Our bartender, Jo, was not only attentive but a great conversationalist who gave us great recommendations on which drinks to choose. Needless to say we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed ourselves after a difficult loss.

You enter and are immediately transported into a tiki-like hut that's small and intimate. They have a wide selection of drinks, all served in a unique and fun glass. Many of the drinks have a "flame" element to them with makes it kitschy, though the prices for cocktails were on the higher side. Favorite drink of the night was a Painkiller. The food was ok. We got the soup dumplings (4 stars, much spicier than I expected), the crab rangoons (3 1/2 stars) and the Hawaiian Pizza (3 stars -- this was rather small and lacked seasoning) The service was great! Our primary server was fun, personable and definitely was having a good time. This is the perfect spot to grab a drink or two before moving on to game of bowling, or to grab dinner at one of the many spots in Highland Park. Thanks for a fun time Lucky Tiki, we had a blast!

Our server was super nice and helpful even though it was very busy. We started with cocktails I got the WHATS GOOD HERE. Ziiiiiiiiiiing! This cocktail is so unique! Try the drink first (which was absolutely yummy) then take a bite of the flower that sits on top. It gives a whole different experience. It feels tingly, a little numbing and gives lemony vibes. It changes everything. So cool! Each appetizer was better than the last. The WHIPPED FETA was the perfect start with the softest pillowy pita I've ever had! The MUSHROOM SHISH had the perfect chili crunch kick! The OCTOPUS was perfectly cooked and had a really good labneh on the bottom. All the dishes were well balanced and flavorful. If you haven't come here yet, you're missing out! Great vibes, great food and drinks!

I think the only thing that was fully devoured was the butter noodles from the kids menu -- which was basically macaroni noodles with nothing but butter on them. Didn't need a reservation to get seating right away -- given the terrible food, I can see why. The ambiance here is good for a date night, and people will be dressed up which is kind of rare for this part of town. I won't be back though -- head to Bavel instead.
