Came to try out Dada EP the other night thinking it would be an okay spot. Wasn't expecting too much. Then we are walked into this stark minimalist designed back room for the restaurant and they start to bring out the most amazing food. The cocktails were fantastic. Our server was super friendly and explained everything to us. The bread is Bub and Grandma's so of course perfection. Our salad arrived which was superb and then there was a lull. The timing went awry here and there was just too long of a wait between that salad and our risotto and branzino. When it arrived they were both incredible mind you but there was only 13 people in the restaurant so somebody missed the timing on that one. Not a huge deal. The dessert - we opted for the peach tart - we both felt was not up to the rest of the meal. It was bland. We did see a DJ setting up and we noticed some large speakers that were pointed right at our table so we were glad that we got out before all that started because with the minimalist design and walls. Coolest spot in Echo Park. They have an amazing sound system with DJs, a bar with a lounge area if you just want to chill and have a drink, and a dining area in the back. Me and my boyfriend went for dinner and food was insane. Hamachi crudo was amazing, plated beautifully, super fresh and fragrant. They have a woodfire grill and their grilled shrimp and hanger steak were so good. Whether you're coming for food, a casual drink, or a night out, would highly recommend. Came here to grab some drinks. They happened to have a Suntory pop-up. If you know beer, you know Suntory. We ordered a few rounds of that and it hit the spot. Light, crispy and refreshing. There is seating inside and outdoors. The inside is very dark and intimate if you are on a date or looking for fancy cocktails. read more

Ambiance was cool and lowkey, it's a nice spot to bring a big group of people to chat and dance. There's an outdoor patio, seated indoor space, and indoor dance area - it's huge! The DJ was playing 80s music that night Door guy had great vibes :) Bartender was a bit short with us, and the drinks were kind of off for some reason. Had an $18 espresso martini which tasted watered down/no flavor, and the wine selection sounded good on paper (ordered the orange wine and my tried my boyfriend's chilled red), but both tasted flavorless/flat for some reason. Price point for wine was around $15-16 range. Maybe stick to ciders/beers here, they were solid For the bar, you enter through the alleyway from a big public parking lot. There also tends to be street parking in the residential, but have to be pretty lucky/patient if you're coming on a weekday evening. TLDR, nice ambiance but the drinks fell a bit short~ read more

I didn't realize this place was new till I'm leaving this review at this moment. or maybe its new for evening cocktails. I remember there was few bartenders working but enough to service our large group of 10 We stumbled this place after bar flores, needed something a little more quiet to chat. The decor is nice I remember the floors and walls seem brand new, maybe its the renovations. There's a DJ in the back so theres sime minimal house music going on which is up my alley. The bar in the back wasn't open but the room back there is nice to have a chat with your friends. Seems like a first date bar so you can stare at each other Its just a really dark bar in the back which is nice , gives it sort of a chill club atmosphere. I thought Dada was gonna be a good experience from the moment I was greeted by some sweet mature lady at their front desk. At the time no server or host was at the patio area... I asked if my small, very well behaved and trained dog was allowed.. she said yes just not on the furniture. I was going to sit outside, with him on the floor with 4 extra people. We went to the car and waited for our party, came back to a new guy/host near the outside patio checking people now, he was white, short n had a shaved head.. he ended up saying dogs weren't allowed and I told him the lady inside said they were? He was confused and asked what lady.. and confirmed it was a no. By no means do we feel entitled to be allowed in with a dog but at least have clear rules stated somewhere. SO dada, either stop lying, discriminating, or being inconsistent because it's such a waste of everyone's time but it wasn't worth even the slightest argument so we just went to lowboy instead where the vibes are less pretentious anyways. I will say the lady inside was very kind though. We ended up getting 5 rounds of drinks at lowboy while our dog slept the entire time so their loss. read more

We went here for a birthday the other night and it's a really cool (somewhat hidden) bar in Echo Park. The service was top notch, the wine & drink list were great (we had their orange wine & Cabernet ) and they had a really good menu! I kept it simple and had their shoestring fries There was plenty of seating, parking was a little challenging - there's 2 pay lots in back but they were full when we arrived; found street parking. Eaten at Dada a few times and each time I've had a delicious meal. Their wedge salad is soo yummy and I really enjoyed the skewers and the fish. The interior has a nice clean and sleek aesthetic. Although, I must warn you that they keep the lighting very very low at dinner. The service is excellent and fast. I also love how Dada turns into a venue in the evening. Great dinner to vibe spot! I visited Dada Bar with a group of friends, and we were really disappointed by how one of the bartenders treated us, especially one of my friends. It was clear from his tone and attitude that he was treating her differently, seemingly because of her race. The contrast in how he interacted with her compared to other guests was noticeable and made us all uncomfortable. We didn't say anything at the time because the situation was awkward and caught us off guard, but it left a lasting negative impression. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of their background. I hope management takes this kind of behavior seriously and ensures that all guests feel welcome and valued. read more

Dada is the BEST!!!! We had our shop holiday party here and it was pure perfection. From the moment we walked in the vibe was one of joyous good will. We enjoyed cocktails and a steady stream of food, one item better than the next. From hot crusty bread to salad wedges, chicken skewers to French fries. Everyone was lovely and could not have made us feel more welcome. The owner Christine has created a bit of Heaven in the heart of Echo Park. I never write reviews, but I went to Dada with some friends of mine recently, and I just wanted to take a minute to write how fabulous this place is. The ambience was great, the staff were friendly and attentive and gave great recommendations. However, what truly stood out above everything else, was the food. It was absolutely incredible from start to finish. We got a bit of everything and shared all the dishes. The veggies were crisp, the sauces were delicious but the ribeye was total perfection! I can't recommend Dada enough and cant wait to go back. read more

Dada was great overall, definitely worth visiting. The space is nice and unique. The service was great. And the food is very reasonably priced compared to similar spots. The wedge salad was great, maybe even better because it was a 90 degree day and a cold salad hit the spot. The corn risotto was excellent, very well cooked and delicious. The camarones (shrimp) had an amazing flavor, but if I'm being nitpicky the meat was a bit soft with an unexpected texture. Same with the octopus special, great flavor but a very soft bite. I know good octopus is supposed to be tender but it felt a bit too tender, which threw us all off a bit. Soft seafood aside, everything else was pretty good. The chicken skewers had amazing flavor, the lamb skewers were grilled beautifully. The beef cheek special, while it looked and smelt amazing, lacked the flavor we were expecting. Maybe it just needed a bit more salt. And the pita/flatbread that came with the beef cheeks was a bit hard and mediocre as well, which didn't help. I'm giving this feedback more for constructive criticism, hoping these details will improve, as I really want this place to succeed. All in all I'd still recommend visiting and would definitely go back to try other items. Dada feels like a great addition to Echo Park that is original, unique and not insanely overhyped like some other spots in the area. read more

This place is so intimate and there's a few different options to head for. When you first walk in, there's a bar and some seatings was with more of a vintage, dark feel. They have an outside seating area as well. We opted for the bar in the back of the space. There's also quite a few tables back here as well. The drinks here were quality and we didn't feel rushed at all. We got a few bites to eat and a few rounds of drinks. Chicken Skewers 5/5 These were so juicy and flavorful! There's definitely a kick and spices were on the Latin side. The aji verde was the perfect pairing. Fries 4/5 Skinny and super crispy! Personally, a fan of thin and crispy fries so these are a must snack for me when I come back. read more

I've been getting this feeling lately, that dining on the Eastside has gotten a little silly. How many interior design trends can you fit into one restaurant? All of them? How many influencers can you bribe to joyfully report from the scene? I can safely say that none of that applies to Dada, and that is what makes it my new favorite place in the zone between downtown and Silver Lake. So if you're short on time, no need to read more: just go. It's wonderful. On to the rest though. I'd heard of Dada via IG because they have incredible DJ shows, and I'd been to the market but the one time I tried going to an event, I couldn't find the entrance. And I want to praise this place but not to blow it up so I'm not telling you how to find it. That's the password to the treehouse fort, feel me? I had a last minute Hinge connection and my date suggested we meet at a new shop around the corner and we did. I parked in the lot behind that three block stretch of retail and felt the energy emanating from the storefronts as I walked up. It was a Friday night, Farmer's Market had just ended, and the shop lights had just beedn turned The shop we met at--XēBA BOTáNICA--was great, Aesop-adjacent but on a Joshua Tree kind of energy. More on that later. And after checking it out for a while, we were hungry and thirsty and thought we could find a snack and a drink somewhere so Dada came to mind. Green flag: we were both friends with the woman working the front desk. The interior does something rare: elevated but local. An outdoor space, a stunning lounge space, beautiful bathrooms and art, a modern but classic sound system and a dining room in the back. The cavernous aspect works with the appeal. This feels more like Paris than Echo Park but in a good way, a Rue de Charonne way. I got a burger and a beer. Perfect. And we sank into the deep, plush sofa in the corner and claimed that as our own. As the night went on, the energy stayed constant, deep vibes, optimal volume level, no bridge and tunnel, just comfort and an elevated experience. I will surely be back and if you can figure out how to get there, Dada has my absolute highest praise. read more

I have eaten at Dada before, at the beautiful bar. Had a full meal with the bartender in the inside/dining room space. I talked this place up, and booked on resy. I called the restaurant to specifically save the same seats at the bar. He said "oh yes we have you seated and reserved at the bar" NO WHERE ON RESY WAS IT ORDER COUNTER STYLE AND PICK A PLACE. Almost like a lunch spot. I went to the restaurant and the employee was extremely confused why I was confused about the change in service style. If you were specific of, "the restaurant is you order at the counter and take a number pick a place" I would have NEVER wasted my time to go all the way to echo park. Not only that the seating options were not great, how am I suppose to have a full NY strip steak in a non heated patio at night and no bar stools available?! read more

There's 2 parts to this place. There's a bar as soon as you enter. Limited food & drinks however there's a great HH burger/beer or wine combo at a killer price point. The larger dining room has more options, and turns into a DJ dance night after 10pm on weekends. Great quality food & drinks and intimate chill vibe. read more

The ambience was beautiful and serene, and decor details were well-thought, from custom casings in the restroom to lighting. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Celebrated my friend's bday here last night, and even though we couldn't get a table, our group of 10 was able to take over the small bar lounge. A server attended to us all evening, delivering food and refilling drinks. My friend brought in a box of mini cake slices, and Dada's staff helped to unbox and display the cakes in a beautiful way using their plateware. They also supplied lit candles for my friend to enjoy a "happy birthday" song & wish. The only reason I'm docking a star is because the music was much too loud for conversation and the food wasn't as shareable as we thought (one part portion and one part plating.) For example, a plate of fish ceviche was delivered with only a spoon, and paid bread/butter plates were each delivered in 4 oversized slices, one of which was the loaf heal. Both the plating and difficulty to converse over the loud volume made enjoying our friends a bit awkward to attain. Our lounge seating also played a role, of course. If you plan to eat here with a large group, I recommend table seating on the patio or in the restaurant room and not trying for "family-style" food ordering. read more

I re-joined Yelp just to say how great this place is. Very well priced wood-fired menu keeps it fresh with seasonal offerings. They had me at wood-fired meats and veg, and they keep me coming back with dishes like their habachi crudo, (insanely good) wedge salad, lima beans and grilled bread... I could go on.
