The experience came with 12 food and drink pairings. Most of the drinks were savory, which isn't my preference, and the food wasn't very tasty. Definitely would have been better if there was a balance between sweet and savory drinks.

4th time and just as amazing! A few new items in the menu which was exciting. Angel is the best!!! Fantastic service and the atmosphere is always casual but elevated.

My first time trying this speakeasy experience and it was amazing. The place was set up like a vintage bar with beautiful replicas of ornaments. The pairing of drinks were good and delicious. We had (12) tastings of paring and each one was so delectable, scrumptious, and made with quality ingredients. My favorite was the chicken and waffles and the lobster. Marisol, our host was fantastic she was patient, accommodating, and very welcoming. Great experience I will be back soon for another adventure. The price is very reasonable for the amount of drinks and food you get. Trust me you will be full. Note: A deposit of $40 is required with your reservation and when your experience is over you will give cash of $100. The experience is $140 and it's with a total of nine people for a two-hour Omakase experience.

Don't come to F&Bar expecting to get full ...come here for a unique and memorable tasting experience. Every drink and bite is crafted with care, and the flavors are as creative as they are delicious. The service is excellent, and with only six seats at the bar, it feels personal and engaging. You're right there with the bartender, watching the magic happen and getting a truly one of a kind experience. If you're looking for something different in the best way possible, F&Bar is absolutely worth a visit.

What a trip! This is such a creative place and it introduced me to so many new styles of liquor I didn't know existed. It felt very much like a trip around the world without leaving your barstool. Favorites were the beet with caviar and a shot of Russian vodka, and the slow-roasted lambshank paired with a tiny fruity cocktail that brought out the grass in the lamb. Every sip and bite felt so thoughtfully curated, and came with a great story about how the whole presentation came to be. This is one of those few things that is a meal, an activity, and an experience all rolled into a great 3 hours. Great bang for your buck, and then some. I'd love to go back when their menu changes!

A few times a year we like to try something different and we found it this time. The first hurdle for the Hollywood location is finding it, you could walk by the entrance a few times and never know it (we did it twice). But once you find.... Imagine being in New Orleans over 50 years ago in a Speakeasy. Super cool vibes with appropriate music that is older than probably most everyone reading this review. We were taken on a guided tour by the amazing Vicky. Walking us through some history, the chef, the idea of the place and of course the great food and drink. You can expect 12 courses over roughly 2 hours while sitting with (at maximum) 9 people at the bar. I am not a fan of wine pairing as most people's tastes are so different that it's never worth the price. Here is a totally different story, the thinking that goes into the combination is really on point and we loved almost everything we had. The food and drink is super fresh and very creative (you are not going to find your typical Tito's here). After a $40 deposit, it's $100/person cash which I think is totally reasonable for this experience because it's not just sitting at a bar and eating/drinking. Will definitely come back to see if any of the combinations change but you don't want to miss this special/different experience.

This place is unique and fun for a night out. If you're looking for something where you try many different curated drinks and food pairings omakase-style, I would definitely recommend this place to you... maybe in the fall or spring! The owner is pretty humble and kind and allowed us to bring some belongings up the stairs and into their small lobby. Looking around, he definitely doesn't use any bottom shelf alcohol. Plus... Parking is right below, no fee or anything. For the drinks, I enjoyed a lot of them! Some of my favorites were the Indian-spiced-rum and the sesame oil Benedictine! A couple didn't show up, so we ended up getting to share their pairings with those that did. I also had some of my partner's drinks since we need to make sure we could leave fine, and by 2/3 of the dinner, I was both pretty buzzed AND full. Pictures attached will explain what each of these were as well as I could remember. A nice surprise was lobster in a snail shell! The oyster was also one of the best foods there as well. The rice cracker that the tuna mix was on was also custom from the chefs, so that was my ultimate favorite pair together (followed closely by the charcuterie style pair). The only downsides were that some of the drinks or food weren't my favorite, like the salmon&goat cheese on a cracker and the Korean inspired pair. It seemed lacking compared to the others. It was also a heat wave that week, but luckily the place also has an external A/C to cool the place down a bit. I would revisit when it's cooler for sure.

F&Bar is a hidden speakeasy gem with only three locations: Hollywood, Atwater Village, and Brooklyn, NY. It offers a one-of-a-kind omakase experience, where each round includes a carefully curated food and drink pairing. Every detail--from the ingredients to the glassware--has been meticulously chosen by the chef. With just two seatings per night and a maximum of nine guests, this exclusive experience is by reservation only. Secure your spot now by visiting F&Bar

OMG, this was a phenomenal experience! It's very intimate only having six people at a time. in this cute little apartment like location, you would never guess that this little bar is here! The owners are passionate about their work and the pairing of the beverage with the bite-size snack is amazingly done. I can't even put it into words how well the flavors go together. They work in conjunction to create these amazing concoctions that have extraordinary appeal when served

F&Bar (Food & Beverage Bar) is a nice intimate experience. I actually visited the Hollywood location but I couldn't locate a Yelp page but for those interested I wanted to share my experience. Entrance: Look for a black door with a red light key above the door just to the left of the bar Sassafras on Vine Street. There's decent metered parking ($1/hr). Note that you have to trek up a long flight of stairs so be mindful if you select this location and have mobility issues. Service: Our host's name escapes me but she was quite friendly, lighthearted and enjoyed making conversation and jokes. And she was able to accommodate a last minute food restriction which was appreciated. We weren't asked at the time of making the reservation and it escaped me but be certain to include that in your text communication with the location. Food/Drink: Our location actually had approximately 14 drink/food tastings as opposed to 12 which was a nice surprise! Some highlights - I thoroughly enjoyed the lobster in the snail shell, basil foam, smoked trout, tuna, pork bun, lamb and chicken and waffle. I don't recall the drinks and they don't have set names just the listed ingredients but were quite pleasant. Some like the elote style drink were a tad strong for me but overall enjoyable.

We went to f&bar in Hollywood and honestly it was one of my favorite dining experiences. Omakase cocktails and light bites plus the best banter from the host. We can't wait to go back with more friends!!!

The back bar area... Cool spot.

Love F&Bar... 2nd experience, first time at this location. I went with my gf and her two brothers. There was a couple celebrating a birthday, and a dope ass bartender named Marisol. Overall, the food and drinks were delicious. Some items better than others of course, but the combinations were inspiring. There was a cocktail that was paired with a chicken and waffle, with a chili pepper which stands out as one of my favorites. I Everything is very carefully thought out, and put together well. The food and drinks could stand alone, but are definitely best when you take the approach of starting with a sip, taking a bite, then finishing with a sip.

Tara L.

went to the hollywood location theres streety parking right in front. and because its dinner service you wont have to worry about paying the meter (long) you can find them by looking for am illuminated red keyhole above a door single server is your everything for the evening. she makes the drinks, preps the bites, and entertains you with her whimsy. super super unique experience that i would highly recommend. per other yelp reviews it was said that it wasnt enough alcohol to get you drunk or enough food to make you full. i highly disagree. i couldnt even finish everything we had even though they were small bites. and i def didnt want anything else to drink after that! while the norm is 12 courses, we got 14 since there were (3) people with all different allergies. i think it is amazing that a place like this can handle allergies on the fly! there was 1 no nuts, 1 no seafood, 1 no dairy. most of the cocktails are batched ahead of time for ease of service. and for the most part the bites are also prepared in advance. all of the finishing touches are done at the counter though, and there are a lot! you pay $40 to make your reservation and then the suggested tip is $100. so $140 for 12-14 courses! so cheap imo. i left extra though since we had (2) more courses than the norm would definitely go again. this is a super unique experience. even if you are sitting shoulder to should with the other (9) people on the small bar top, it is a must do. especially if the menu changes every now and then

I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

After being seated 40 minutes later, service took 20 minutes to take our order, and another 30 minutes to be served. Food was 'okay', there was no entertainment, and multiple customers were unhappy with similar slow service... but some of them were comped parts of their meals.. we didn't even get a sorry until we spoke to the manager on our way out, expressing the reason was they had no idea it would be this busy on a Thursday (they take reservations, so...), and also blamed an 'all you can eat promotion' they promoted earlier, and they only had two serves on staff that night. 4) We were late to Mr. Wanderlust, but were luck to get two seats at the bar after another couple left. We order two cocktails and a coffee... and were charged just over $140. Then, we were asked to move because they wanted to take our seats. We asked about the bill to the bartendar, and she expressed that since she didn't take our original order, she couldn't help us. She simply just had us stand there. We were not going to pay since it seemed way off... until finally we spoke to a guy walking by. We showed him our ticket/receipt and said out loud, "this isn't right". He came back quickly with a revised bill of almost $120. This was still far too high, but no one else seemed interested in helping us find resolve, so we ate it since we didn't want to be late for part 3 of the night. 5) Hoping to salvage the night with drinks and dancing... we tried to find the entrance to Sinners and Santos for their advertised Latin night. We had made reservations here too, and had full confirmation of the reservation... BUT, after finally being directed to the entrance (outside on the patio), they were closed. No sign of why and no one who worked at the other locations had a reason, but they were just simply closed. 6) So, after paying $35 for parking, about $140 in cocktails and food while waiting for our initial reservation at Golden Hour and Que Barbaro, $150+ for dinner at Lucky Mizu, and $120 at Mr. Wanderlust... approximately $500 total... we didn't even get to dance. Maybe this place had a bad night, but based on what the workers said, and how they treated us... it sure seems like the norm. Don't get me wrong, the place is cool... some really great experiential elements and nice photo ops... but I would have had a much better time somewhere else. Super disappointed in this place.
