Enjoy sitting at the bar and enjoying the happy hour vibe and items. The staff is friendly and it's fun to talk to the other patrons. Chicken wings and chicken shish are delish. Eggplant dip is wonderful especially with the freshly puffed bread.

Fantastic restaurant. We enjoyed the whipped feta, beets, beef shish kebab and Jidori chicken. One of our favorite restaurants in LA.

Recap of my experience at Momed - Inventive food, lovely garden atmosphere and great service. I dined here on a Friday afternoon and there was plenty of free parking. We got to sit here for a few hours and truly enjoy our meal as they did not rush us out. Highlight of the meal - The whipped feta with pita bread and duck sharma were my favorites, and I'd like to call out the amazing latte (honestly better than most coffee shops). Momed is great for a casual meal or a nice celebration. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing. We were skeptical at first, but everything turned out to be delicious. The flavors were great and the service was friendly. Will come back fs.

It's been a long time since I've been here. The food is outstanding. Service is much better than the last time I was here. It was not very crowded on a weekday night. We didn't order any mains or dessert. The whipped feta- I can eat that all day. The roasted beets were next level. The momo chips weren't as good as i remembered it. I would give that a miss next time I'm back. The octopus and prawns. Both excellent.

My partner and I came here late at night on a last minute reservation. We couldn't get there until shortly after our reservation time. To my surprise, the restaurant was still nearly full house even when we arrived late. We ordered the lamb as recommended and it did not disappoint. The service in my opinion was even better. I could not remember her name but honestly felt like made our experience so much better. The ambiance is a great place to host parties or birthdays as it is sooo incredibly spacious! Only downside is valet parking only.

We had an amazing post theater dinner for 20 friends at Momed! It was our first time there, but definitely not our last. Excellent service, food and location. Momed has excellent prix fixe choices for our large group and it worked perfectly. The restaurant is spacious with a great vibe. Our guests had a great time -- excellent food and selections. We will be back for sure.

Cocktail of the month - The Chareau Must Go On

We went to Momed with a group of nine friends to celebrate a late birthday brunch. It had just the vibe we were looking for, with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. The service was warm and attentive, and the covered outdoor patio had some cute hanging greenery. Dogs are also allowed on the patio. We ordered a few plates and several main dishes to share, and everything was a hit. We agreed that the standouts were the Mediterranean plate (a variety of dips, za'atar chips, and homemade sourdough pita), the pork belly benedict (a twist on a classic), and the khachapuri (wonderfully seasoned). The cocktails were alright. A few of us had the cocktail of the month (listed on the main menu, not on the cocktail menu), which was a gin-based lemon and basil creation - very light and refreshing. Some quirks about Momed are the train that runs parallel to the patio (don't be surprised if it's suddenly a bit loud!) and that there are espresso-based drinks available to order that are not on the menu. There are about ten parking spots in their lot, and plenty of street parking available as well. We've been here a few times and would continue to come back if we're in the area for their unique dishes and atmosphere!

The ambience at this spot is lovely! It's dim lit and cozy with an open kitchen view which to me is the perfect romantic setting! The service was good, attentive and helped getting great recommendations in. Food was lovely although the main vegetarian options were very limited for dinner. The one thing on the menu was unfortunately sold out by the time we got there but the appetizers were very filling and very rich in taste. This does give a more modern take on Mediterranean food but it tasted very good.

How it started...

It was a hot day. I needed to cool off. I stopped in for a cucumber mint lemonade and a salad. The presentstion was beautiful, service was super quick and kind. I'd love to come back to try more! I regretted not getting the potatoes! Next time! I want a cocktail too!

Whipped feta 3/5 The only dish I liked.

Came here for my bday. I'm so sad. Between our party of 4 - no one liked anything. I had such high expectations - maybe that's why I was so disappointed. I won't be back. Again I really wanted to like it. So many other med restaurants I'd rather go to than come back here.

Steak and eggs

Brought my mom here for her birthday for brunch. So close to the house, but we had never driven by and found it on yelp and so excited and happy that we did. Very contemporary design almost makes you feel like you're in the arts district in downtown Los Angeles. The vibe is totally hip modern and inviting with a very large patio area. Everyone from the moment you walk in is friendly and eager to help. We decided to start off with some appetizers. The whipped feta, avocado, hummus, a dip, platter and bread. Presentation was exceptional, and the flavors were right on point. My favorite was the feta topped off with the cherry tomatoes and a little bit of olive oil. For the mains, I went with the khachapuri and added bacon. Very traditional, middle eastern dish basically fresh dough baked with feta cheese, some sauce and an egg. Add the chop bacon for an extra savory entrée. Also had the steak kebab and eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly in the seasoned well. Can't find a single bad thing to say about anything that we had. This is definitely a great Sunday brunch spot or maybe a night out with friends.

Chicken Shish

This place is tucked into a residential area and is so adorable! On a Saturday late morning, there was parking available, but I can see it being harder to find parking during peak times. There was no wait, and the patio area was SO cute! The service was very quick and attentive. The food was delicious & flavorful, and the plating was superb (for those of you who like to eat with your eyes first)! I would definitely come back again and would love to try their dinner menu.

The bartenders definitely make well balanced, delicious concoctions. And then our food came: Mmm! So many vibrant flavors! Fresh, popping zings of ginger and garlic on the noods, delectable brisket with brightness from the red onion and cilantro wrapped in a comfort blanket of bao, break a sweet sweat from chilis on the spicy tofu noodles, green, bright, and lip smacking umami on the brussels, and bbq perfection on the meat. Room at the bar, tables for 2, 4, or 6 - lucky us again - to sit along the large open wall-window that let in the evening breeze. If you want a tiki style cozier vibe, head upstairs to the lift area. Parking is a commodity, and there's no lot here. Street parking in front or on residential side streets. All around great experience! If I were a local, this would definitely be on high rotation!

I've been going to them more and more, and The Lucky Tiki was one I definitely had to try out. First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. How about instead of accepting $$$ for a private event that will deny customers their reservation, they make the private event work around what is available? We were told seating was first come, first served, so when a table opened up outside, our group of five sat down while part of our group went inside to order. Almost immediately, my friends were aggressively accused by a waitress of bringing outside alcohol, which was completely untrue. Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against. As a fellow restaurant owner, I understand hospitality and house policies, which is why this treatment was especially disappointing. What should have been a fun birthday celebration turned into a terrible experience, and we ended up leaving early.

And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here.
