    What I was charged
    Andrew C.

The food was decent, but my experience with the owner and billing process was extremely disappointing. A member of our party was feeling unwell due to pregnancy, so my friend (her husband) called the restaurant to discuss the reservation. We were told there would be a cancellation charge, so we explicitly decided NOT to cancel and kept the reservation. Despite that, a $60 cancellation fee was charged to my card a few minutes later. When I called to ask about it, the conversation became unnecessarily hostile and confrontational. After several calls and dealing with the owner, we were told the charge would be removed because the reservation had never actually been canceled (no duh). We still wanted to have a good night so we attended dinner as planned, spent roughly $500, and thought the matter was resolved. Unfortunately, there were additional issues. Our original bill included charges for three glasses of wine even though only two had been ordered. Ok... that charge was corrected after we pointed it out. But here's where it gets shitty. I discovered that the final amount charged to my card did not match the signed receipt. I left a specific tip amount (still 18%!) and took a photo of the signed receipt showing the total. The owner apparently didn't like this amount and fraudulently charged us higher than what I authorized. At that point there had been three separate billing issues involving the same meal: - A cancellation fee for a reservation that was never canceled - An incorrect wine charge that we had to catch ourselves - A final credit card charge that did not match the signed receipt I rarely leave negative reviews, but after multiple billing discrepancies and the way the situation was handled, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The owner was aggressive on the phone, is unethical and will clearly scam you if he can get away with it. If you choose to dine here, carefully review your bill before paying, take a photo of your signed receipt, and verify that the final charge posted to your card matches the amount you authorized. Extremely disheartening experience, will never be back.

Wowza, the ambiance here is spectacular. Offering outdoor patio seating, Zizou is THE SPOT for date night, gals and pals catch ups, and all things right. Specializing in Moroccan cuisine, there's so many standout dishes to choose from. I loved the refreshing Moroccan salad, steamed mussels, and steak fritas. There are a huge portion of mussels and fritas though. Pro-tip: dip the fritas in the mussels soup when you get to the bottom. It's impeccable. The staff here are superb and checked on my group frequently. If you're looking for lossless and funk music with excellent eats, this place is perfect.

Always love visiting Boris and Maati at this hidden oasis when I find myself in the neighborhood. Named for the legendary French soccer player and coach Zinedine Zidane, Zizou is a French-Moroccan restaurant featuring a lovely patio and delicious taboulé, steak frites, tajine, and well curated French wines. With France & Spain both favoured to win with Morocco's strong underdog performances in both the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Olympics, expect Zizou to be a FIFA World Cup hot spot this month.

This is by far my most favorite restaurant. Went here for a date night with my boyfriend, and the food was amazing! If you go you must order the lamb shank and the branzino. Wow the dishes were to die for. The staff was extremely nice and friendly as well. I wish I could give this restaurant 10 stars I love love love. Also it's on a rooftop which is very nice. The whole restaurant itself is also very calm not noisy. And it's sitting on top of a beautiful hotel. Highly recommend.

Such an intimate vibe; lots of young people, relaxed and upscale feel, very diverse menu and good for meat / seafood, some vegetarian / vegan options. Loved the portion sizes and service was great! Fairly dark interior at night and red lights everywhere if you're sensitive to that - would definitely come back. Great for special occasions or sexy evening cocktails

Super unique place! I really enjoyed the ambiance. This is a true hidden gem in all aspects of the phrase. You would totally miss it driving down the street. The minute you walk in, you are hit with these red lights and loud, funky psychedelic music. It's a VIBE. I love how it's an indoor/outdoor space and very dimly lit. It's cozy and intimate. I saw some larger groups dining together as well as lots of couples. We came for date night and it was a total experience. The menu is a little on the small side, but they have a great wine list! If you loved chilled reds, you'll be a happy camper. They only have wine and beer. We had the mussels with fries, braise short rib and couscous for dinner. Plenty of food for two. We were actually full after the mussels and short rib, even though the short rib only came with three pieces. The meat just fell apart! Delicious. All of the flavors were amazing and authentic to Moroccan cuisine. Service was great, but a little slow at times. I think it's a smaller operation they run here. We also went on a Sunday night, and it was pretty chill. The inside was empty but the patio was filled! Would totally recommend if you are looking for a little flavor adventure and vibey night out.

Such a nice hidden gem! Feels like a different world when you enter! Be sure to make reservations! They have a nice outdoor seating area. Bar is also super cute. Friendly staff! Fast service! Will be back!!

Came here on a Saturday night around 9pm. This little hidden place was super cool. On the outside, I was thinking "where are we??", but when we got inside, it was a cute and intimate Moroccan vibe restaurant. When you first enter, there's a bar to your left and you pass through there to get to the main dining area. It was an outdoor eating area with cute trees and casual ambience. Dimly lit, with red lighting, cool music, and a little dance floor to get your groove on. Things I didn't like: - bathroom was dark asf, couldn't see, there was only red lighting -only serves beer and wine -owner was our server, who was kinda grumpy the whole time because we had a large party and had to cancel and get a smaller table However, food was reasonable priced and delicious! Must try the calamari, short ribs, and steak and fries.

5++ stars for ambience. Like the vibe is just too good. 3.5-4 stars for food tbh, but the vibe is so good I literally don't care. The food is good though. It's not mind blowing or anything, to be sure. But would I come back again and again to split a steak frites to with my friend to nosh on while we yap over a bottle of wine or two? For sureeee. Steak frites was a solid 4 from me. Would probably pass on the spinach puffs and the Morrocan salad appetizers we got, though. I saw some negative food reviews that had me hesitant, and I totally hear them. It's just such a stunning atmosphere and the food LOOKS so good with such an interesting fusion of cultures--expectations are high. Especially here in LA. But if you go in with reasonable expectations to enjoy the atmosphere, Zizou is still hits the mark in my opinion. We got one of the French orange wines and it was DELISH. they have an orange wine from Chile too, which I thought was interesting. Server was a lovely gal. Also parking is street parking so just be aware!

I really enjoyed the vibes and aesthetics of Zizou! When you walk in it feels like you stepped into a Moroccan open patio oasis with French rap blasting in the background. They only serve wine and beer right now, but their spritz was super refreshing. Food wise is somewhat small yet had something for everyone. I really enjoyed their tabouleh francais, sautéed veggies on toast and their ribeye with their peppercorn sauce. It tasted homey and were good portions to share.

Came for brunch. It seems that it would be best to get here for dinner . I asked for the steak and fries, but it is 11:45 and we didn't know we couldn't order lunch . The Brunch selection is very small, not a lot of options. The ambience is great . So it seems if you visit early, it's just for a small hang out and not a celebration until dinner time . Food was different. It took a while to get our food though , even though the restaurant did not seem busy. We got here at 11:10 and didn't get our food until 12:26pm . I would want to come back and try their lunch/dinner menu. Maybe next time it will be a better experience here.

Zizou is a labour of hard work, dedication and love, to be exact 4 years of craftmanship. Owners converted an empty space to a foodies' paradise. Whether you dine inside which offers a cozy atmosphere or outside surrounded by palms and sweet and delicious dragon fruits, you will not be disappointed. We ordered the steak and frites, which the steak is so buttery and melts in your mouth. The mussels were perfect and the broth so savory. You have to try the spinach puff pastry which must be accompany by a glass of wine. The service: first, we did not make reservations but they were able to accommodate us. Most tables were reserved. Tip: make reservations. Second, we felt like royalty, the server and one of the owners kept checking on us. This made our time at Zizou very special. Check it out and cheers, Barbara

My first trip to Petit Trois was terrific. My partner and I sat at the counter inside, enjoyed friendly and informative conversation with the chef and staff, and had an outstanding meal. My second trip was a different story. We decided to sit outside this time to enjoy the summer evening weather and...boy was that a mistake. Our table was swarmed with flies the entire evening. At first, it was a minor nuisance, but as the food arrived, it became comically overwhelming. I did see another table that was supplied with a small table fan to shoo away the insect guests, but we were afforded no such courtesy. We ended up giving up on our meal because the flies had caked our entrees. The high price for the meal that felt so worth it on our first trip felt hilariously inappropriate for our a meal that was predominantly enjoyed by flies. Lesson learned and hopefully other readers can benefit from our mistake!
