They were unlike anything I had before, and I found myself wanting more and more. This is definitely the place to order some good wine and hearty pasta. I didn't have much time, as I was going to an event at the chocolate dispensary nearby, but I'll absolutely have to come back to share some larger plates with friends. There is a happy hour menu, too - mostly small plates, from what I saw. Service was efficient. I sat by the bar during a quiet evening, so my food came out quickly and the server was quite attentive. Okay I gotta say I'm getting tired of giving 5 star reviews, but then i realize for these kinds of things (restaurants for special occasions) we get recommendations from our foodie kids and friends and they are seldom wrong. This place was recommended by my step-daughter, and it was fantastic. I asked for a cozy table for my wife's birthday, and we were seated in a nice little booth by the kitchen on a cold night in January. The dining room is gorgeous, with a lot of nice different areas. The couple next to us were also friendly, as a bonus. Everyone nearby seemed to be really enjoying their dining experience. My step-daughter made us promise to order the focaccia. We're not big bread eaters, but thank goodness we got this. I'm not even sure it's technically focaccia, but it's freakin' delicious! We also shared a radicchio salad, the campanelle pasta (all pastas are house-made) and the steak tartare. Okay, my wife's a vegetarian so I ate the whole tartare myself and it was amazing. I mean, truly perfect. The server was wonderful and recommended a perfect red for my meal (by the glass, the mrs. doesn't drink), and then we decided to have the affogato, which went by being delivered to the kitchen table and was one of the best we've ever had. Food and menu options were very good. Other than some small hiccups, I really enjoyed our experience overall. We were greeted very warmly by the host. Waitress was nice but didn't address us much or do anything special (more to come). We ordered an app, salad, pasta, and branzino. Unfortunately, they were out of the branzino (the table next to us got the last one) so we pivoted to the steak. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we ordered pretty fast so I was surprised they would run out of the fish so early in the night. Our salad came and I realized it had goat cheese on it even though I put in my Resy that I don't eat goat cheese. When I told the waitress she didn't seem concerned and since the menu didn't specify what cheese, she didn't offer any replacement. Luckily, the person I was with loved the salad so we moved on. Our next course took quite a while and finally they brought the steak. It was clear that they forgot the pasta dish so I mentioned it the runner and he looked into it. Our waitress never visited between the salad and when the steak came and never made any reference that the pasta was missed. Luckily they fired it up quickly and the runner was the one who delivered it. Both the steak and pasta were very good so I didn't make any fuss over the missed dish. We were enjoying our conversation and taking in the surroundings which involved a very loud table of people a couple tables down at the bar portion of the restaurant, that made for good people watching / listening:-). Finally, our waitress did come back and ask about dessert. We ordered the chocolate tart only to be told that was also sold out. So we went with the toffee pudding which the waitress said was her favorite. I felt like that was the most we got from her all night. Again, she was fine / nice, just didn't offer much. In fact, our waters were empty after we got the dessert but we never saw her again to get a refill. Oh well, she was right that the dessert was great and she was very pleasant otherwise. What a gem in Echo Park! Right off the bat this is a perfect place for a datenight. Great ambiance with modern decor and beautiful high vaulted ceiling. I was treating my friend out for her birthday on a thursday night. She recommended this place as she was here before. For drinks, bday girl got her favorite TWO-KISS SPRITZ and I got a glass of GLS Rocco di Carpeneto Afaja which was crisp and refreshing. The FOCACCIA EBRAICA with taggiasca olives, currants, rosemary, and sea salt was memorable. It looked like a cinnamon roll. Great to start with! Their seasonal KABOCHA SQUASH with pomegranates, balsamic drizzle, basil and hazelnuts was delicious! For mains, we got the MAFALDINE RAGU and BRANZINO. The mafaldine with the short rib ragu was "chef's kiss" - definitely a must-try! The branzino was good but underwhelming compared to the mafaldine . My friend raved about both dishes but I would skip on the branzino. The squash and the mafaldine were standouts in terms of flavor and texture that they both eclipsed the branzino. First they automatically add 20% tip to the bill. That would be perfectly acceptable if the service was warranted. It was not. We had multiple servers that did not know what occurred previously. The right hand did not know what the left hand was doing . We ordered a Aperol Spritz, and others have commented, it came half empty. When I inquired the waiter about it, he told me that's just how they came? Really then why is the glass full for other patrons with the exact same drink? Wait staff never came to check on us even with 2 servers. The front of house who picked up the phone was not friendly and borderline curt. The food was a disappointing. We ordered bread, salad and 2 pastas. The bread was interesting with currents and olive but was over powered by thyme. I would not order it again at $15. The Caesar Salad $18 and was smothered in dressing and large finger length of sardine fillets that were extremely salty. The Mafaldine was very mid. It's was palatable but had an odd sweetness to it. Unfortunately, the pesto was not palatable and left untouched by both of us after the first bite. Really earthy tasting and a bit bitter. I watched the hostess make people wait in the front while the place was empty and the wait staff just gathered around chit chatting. They would not let us order pizza since we were in the main dining area which I found very odd. We drove an hour to try this place and were extremely disappointed. April, the manager (only one that smiled) salvaged the experience. She was really friendly and attentive. We discussed and recommend restaurants to each other so my partner felt comfortable enough to let her know about our experience. She sent over the sticky toffee dessert to us on the house. This review is specifically for the newly opened Bar Bacetti, which used to be Tilda. Bacetti is one of my favorite spots in Echo Park. It's in a gorgeous location on Echo Park Ave, and they constructed a beautiful outdoor setup during COVID, which has remained. The Bar next door is really romantic and intimate, with a handful of indoor tables in the front and a few more dramatically-styled tables in the back room. They have an aperitivo hour from 3-5p during the week in which you can get a snack with any drink. I opted for the stuffed peppers, which were a perfect complement to my uniquely crafted Aperol Spritz. The drink wasn't filled to the top, which was slightly off-putting due to the prices, but seeing other drinks come out from behind the bar, it seemed like that just might be their practice. As a second snack, I ordered the meatballs, which were fried and crazy tasty. They served a very generous portion, and it was so filling, I didn't need to order anything else. We went for dinner after watching the Dodgers game, and this place is very close to Dodger Stadium, which makes it convenient but parking can be a bit difficult. The restaurant's décor is stylish, definitely a hidden gem in Echo Park. Since it was Wednesday, they had a special menu: one pizza with a bottle of wine for $65, which we thought was a great deal. The pizza was indeed delicious, and the red wine we chose was surprisingly good in quality. We also ordered pasta. Personally, I felt the noodles were slightly overcooked, but that might just be because I prefer them a little firmer. Still, the sauce made up for it, so it was okay overall. I'd had my eye on this charming trattoria for months, and I'm happy to say it exceeded my expectations. My friends and I dined al fresco and the vibes were wonderful. Our server, Byron, was so kind, attentive, and happy to make recommendations. I was in a drinking mood, so I was happy to see that they had a Lambrusco. Upon tasting, my friends and I loved it so much that we sprung for the bottle rather than just having a glass. It had perfect amount of fizz and wasn't too dry or too sweet. For starters, we had the focaccia and brocollini. The focaccia was melt in your mouth soft and incredibly flavorful. Brocollini was decent too. For my entree, I went with the house made short rib malfadine pasta and I cleaned every last bite. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the short rib was incredibly tender and the dish was filling and flavorful without being too dense. We ended the night with the tiramisu and a sticky toffee pudding. Great tiramisu. Perfect balance of cream, coffee, and ladyfingers. Bacetti has their portions and ratios down! But the sticky toffee pudding was truly something to write home about. The dreamiest texture, the perfect flavor; I was in heaven. My friends and I were comfortably full after polishing everything off, but we still considered ordering another sticky toffee pudding. What a beautiful place!! Everything from the food to the decor and ambiance was so nice! I like that they have an al fresco option too, so fun. We got the broccolini, the focaccia and the mafaldine. The little outdoor space dedicated to outdoor seating and being engulfed in a canopy of trees in a very tight neighborhood sits this trendy Italian restaurant. This restaurant also has an attached bar with pizzas, but alas we did not try that. We sat in the main restaurant right across the kitchen which is exposed for everyone to see. Who doesn't get excited hearing someone yell "fire..."? We ordered the bread which looked like a cinnamon roll, but was savory, pillowy, and kissed by an olive oily flavor. Paired with there balsamic olive oil butter it just melts in your mouth . The pasta was cooked perfectly. It was bouncy and the coating and cheese were all perfect. The bad. This is echo park. This place was fantastic! I have high standard for Italian and was blown away. I started off the night with a lovely glass of red blend. Focaccia: 5/5 it really is THAT good. It's the perfect balance of salty and sweet, and the exterior was nice and crisp, with a soft interior. Truly so delicious, especially with the honey butter. I got the Rigatoni alla Carbonara and my friend had the Rigatoni all' Amatriciana. Both tasted INSANELY good! The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was heavenly! They also had guanicale (salted Italian pork meat) in both pastas which added a nice touch to the flavor. Both were $23, and for that price, I do wish the portion was bigger. For dessert, I got the Affogato and my friend had the Sorbet Trio. I would say that both are skippable and not extraordinary. It's also on the pricier side. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive and service was great! The hostess and waiter were super kind! They automatically apply a 20% gratuity fee to the check, which I wasn't particularly fond of as I like to set my own rates for tip. Overall, great place for date night with your friends or partner! I probably wouldn't order this again. FIORI di ZUCCA - squash blossoms, ricotta, calabrian chili, honey, pistachio - nice light "tempura" type batter, great starter. If I'm being critical, the blossom filling needed a touch more salt for me. MAFALDINE short rib ragù, parmigiano - pasta was perfectly al dente. Short rib was soft and tender. PATATE PIZZE - Yukon potato, spicy capicollo, taleggio - I had a potato pizza once and ever since then I will order a potato pizza any time it's on a menu. This did not disappoint, the capicolla added the right amount of salt and heat to keep me interested. The two items that will keep me coming back, the Focaccia Evraica and the Potate Pizze! Bacetti Trattoria has become one of our favorite spots. The atmosphere is effortlessly stylish and always welcoming. Starting from the top of the menu, the Focaccia Ebracia under Antipasti is a must every time. The seasonal vegetable dishes from the Intermezzi section are always on point. We usually skip the Pizze since LA has no shortage of great pizza spots, and this isn't really the move for that. For Primi, if the Cacio e Pepe is on the menu, don't sleep on it. In Secondi, we love both the Bistecca (a 10oz skirt steak with salsa verde and patate al forno) and the Branzino (served whole with arugula, marjoram, and gremolata). The wine list is always solid and pairs great with everything. A few things to note: corkage is $35 per bottle with a max of 2 bottles per table. There's a $7 per guest fee for outside desserts. Guest checks include a 20% gratuity. Valet parking is right at Echo Park Ave and Scott Ave. They're a cashless establishment, so plan ahead. Bacetti just consistently delivers. Great food, great vibe, and one of those spots that just works whether you're coming in for a casual weeknight or something a little more special. read more

Order the risotto fritters and drop a touch lime on it - you won't believe how delicious they are! This is a beautiful hip restaurant with great service, cozy outdoor patio and good wine. I also loved my vegetarian cavatelli! I am lowering the score a little because of the chocolate crostata dessert - it was way too salty for me and I didn't finish it. TLDR: Super expensive for very little food. Tastes basically like Olive Garden, very mid and nothing mind-blowing. Explanation: I went to Bacetti Trattoria with my partner for our anniversary. We're working people (I'm a teacher, she works in hospitality), and we heard good things about BT's ambiance & food. I'm from the Midwest, and she's an LA native. Both of us are very active and on the smaller side. BT has a label at the top of their menu that indicates all items are served "family style". I don't know about you, but when I eat family-style, it's generally a pretty generous bowl/plate that 3-4 people can serve themselves from at least once. Even with a generous read, I'd expect the plates to be *at least* enough to share between two people. Remember this. We ordered a turnip salad ($15) and a mushroom pasta ($28). We usually share and assumed these two dishes would be more than enough, considering their price and, again, "family style" marketing. The salad was served on a dish the length of a butter tray and the width of about 2 sticks of butter. The pasta was served in a shallow 8x8 plate/bowl, probably about what I would feed a small child. The turnips were good, but considering how much we each got to eat, felt like a Costco flavor sample. The pasta contained mushrooms, a creamy sauce, and some herbs. Minus the grease, I'd say it hit about Olive Garden level. We each got a couple of bites. The best part of our meal was dessert. The sticky toffee pudding was genuinely good, and the sorbet was pathetically small but also delicious (the equivalent of 1/3 a scoop of ice cream). Each was also around $15. Gratuity is 20%, and my partner got a drink (very strong and did taste good, again around $15-17). All told, we spent $116 and left hungry. We had to snack when we got home. Calling your plates "family-style" is completely dishonest. Turnips are cheap. Pasta is cheap (even homemade; you think they're buying gold-dusted flour???). No ingredients made me go "wow, this was worth it!" There's only way to put it: price-gouging. Dining room was very pretty. Will not be returning and would not recommend. You'll go home hungry or broke, unless you're rich or a nepo-baby. read more

For food, we started out with the squash blossoms. What made these stand out was the honey drizzle that added a juxtaposition to the saltines from the ricotta. Just gave it a very nice bite, though they felt a little oily overall. The salsiccia pizza comes with pork sausage, mozzarella and Tuscan kale. While it was decent, it really didn't stand out, unfortunately. If I was to try a different pizza, I'd probably go with the Fico as it sounds very interesting with the ingredients and flavor profiles/textures. Finally, the carbonara. The pasta had a nice chew to it, reminded me of some of the pasta I had in Italy, but the guanciale was very underwhelming. You want that crispy guanciale that just pops with flavor when you bite it, and adds a totally different texture to pair with the softness of the pasta. This did not have that. I like this place cause it's always solid for delicious pasta and worth making room for secondi! All/any of the secondi is a good option. The service is a little "ok" but there is a super host-person (long blonde hair) who was so friendly and just great energy throughout her shift. Everyone else is polite and chill but not as engaging which honestly I think that friendly attentiveness completely changed my experience. I also brought a friend who was trying it for the first time and she also had the same feedback about the service/staff. read more

The proprietors did a nice job on the dining room aesthetically but the hard wooden seating was kind of uncomfortable. I had a sore derrier when I left. Despite the fact that I really wanted to love the food, none of it excited my palate. It was what I call "so what?" Italian (a cross between so/so and what are they thinking?). Our server did sincerely try to be friendly and helpful but she was back at the table every five minutes which both my dining companion and I found cloying and distracting. We hadn't seen each other in six months and the constant interruptions were very unwelcome. To conclude, the large bill was out of sync with the lackluster meal and I was annoyed after I paid. Food good, ambiance nice, service abysmal. I'd much rather leave a review singing praises, but the service really killed the experience. I'm patient so the time it took the food to arrive (although sluggish) was not the issue. What's not acceptable is that my waitress was only present to take my order. Everything else I had to chase her for or find someone else. The service I experienced is what a customer fears when there is an automatic 20% gratuity included. read more
