    After being told by friends that dinner reservations are near impossible, my partner and I - my partner of which is from England - decided to try breakfast at the location. Parking is free and unmetered right out front (the block perpendicular), and while there was a line of six people immediately at brekkie open, we were able to get inside quick although there was no immediate person to take our order. You have to take the carafe of water with you and while I admit it is a busy establishment, grabbing the attention of servers is nigh impossible while they gab at service windows, with customers, and tend to ignore guests. Anyway. Food prices are fine. They're about what you would expect for the location. Sausage roll is STACKED and STUFFED with filling; Gregg's 1€ this is NOT but the flakiness is found here! The taste is reminiscent as my partner said, with a bit more flavor - unfortunately a tad soggy bottom - but if you're craving the food of the motherland it really hits in a pinch. Egg soldiers were divine, the flaky salt and butter with salt topping were perfect, I have no qualms. Scone was flaky, soft, not burnt on the bottom. Clotted cream was not the consistency you would get with typical British clotted cream. It was definitely that of an American recipe, with it akin more to a whipped cream than clotted. The marmalade was also more homestyle which I did like, as I'm not a fan of marmalade typically. Cappuccinos were decent, it's SO hard to find a good cappuccino in America. The cafe isn't as small as I thought it was given some TikToks I've seen, and even at peak capacity it was still quiet with murmurous chatter. Decor was lowkey, I appreciated the updated LA Times reflecting Pam Bondi being fired. We love up to date publications.

    Silver Lake / Los Feliz area's hottest new brunch spot right now!! This isn't just a brunch place it's that perfect mix of British vibes + California mood (basically the LA aesthetic everyone loves these days) In the daytime, it's a bright, sun-filled cafe but at night, it completely transforms into a romantic, wine-friendly vibe (love that the mood changes depending on the time) Highlights: aesthetic interior (antique + candlelit vibes) amazing natural light great value brunch menu

    This was a tough weekend reservation to snag, but so happy I finally got to try Wilde's! We ordered the beets & brebis, battered fish & mint, meat pie, and the sticky toffee pudding. Beets & brebis: 8/10. This was solid, the beets were fresh, and the brebis was very rich and paired well with them. We also added on the house bread, which was delicious! Battered fish & mint: 6/10. Despite the hype around this, we found this somewhat underwhelming. It was good but not particularly memorable. The mint flavor in the sauce was subtle, and the dish felt overpriced. Meat pie: 8/10. This was yummy! A bit pricey but was very hearty and filling. The pie crust was flakey and buttery, and the inside was packed with wagyu beef and peas and was very flavorful. This also came with a side of their greens, which were served lukewarm and dressed with a citrus vinaigrette (my partner didn't like this at all, though I thought they were fine). Sticky toffee pudding: 10/10. Definitely the highlight of our meal. I loved the fun chewy texture of the cake balanced by the sticky toffee sauce. It's very sweet (by Asian girl standards) but I still loved it. I would come back just to get this again. The entrees are pretty large and probably too much for one person alone, so I'd recommend ordering two apps, one entree +/- dessert for 2 people. The restaurant has a warm, intimate atmosphere, but because the space is so small (the back of my chair was literally touching the chair at the table behind me), it got pretty loud at times and made it difficult to have a conversation with my partner. Overall I thought Wilde's was pretty good though overhyped. I'd like to come back at least one more time to try their brunch menu.

    New restaurant (as of 12/2025) located in the Los Feliz area that I believe features a British menu with comforting classics. As of the time of my visit, I think they're open 4 days a week for breakfast/bakery type service and dinner service. I came here for dinner with a couple of friends, so I can't speak to the earlier service. They're trying to create a neighborhood spot/ walk-in type place so reservations do exist, but it's more first come (and sign up), first serve. I got here right at opening on a Saturday evening and the wait for a table was about 2 hours (not a biggie because I just explored the neighborhood for a while). Again, I think they just recently opened, which may be a reason that the wait is so long a the moment. Because of the size of the space and minimalist decor (featuring lots of woodsy accents), this place has a cozy bistro vibe - or it feels like I went to the UK and decided to drive outside of a major city to the countryside and stumbled across this restaurant. (I'm basing this on movies/TV shows I've seen as I've never visited the UK). The menu is simple with not an overwhelming amount of choices, which I love. We ordered a fried pork dish served with carrots and a sauce (that wasn't on the menu that evening), the Welsh rarebit, the battered skate & mint along with an order of the salt & vinegar chips (basically their fish and chips), bangers & mash, and we added an order of their greens to help cut through the rich items we ordered. We also ordered a bottle of wine from their streamlined wine menu to go along with dinner. Everything was prepared really well with great flavors and textures. The food was simple in the best way possible focusing on the ingredients with minimal techniques. The greens, suggested by the waiter, was a great call to go along with all that we ordered. Overall, I just had a wonderful experience and meal here. The service was attentive, friendly, and helpful and added to the dining experience that felt like a nice evening out, but not too stuffy. Would love to come back and come here to experience breakfast.

    2/27/2026 4 1/2 Stars Combining review. Been here twice. This is for the cafe menu only. Wilde's open their cafe menu for Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only from 8:00am - 1:00pm. SCONE with clotted cream and satsuma marmalade This tasted more like a really good biscuit than a scone. Very soft and fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. It was done well and very delicious too! It's quite a big portion and I was full from just eating just that! It seems they make their own clotted cream and marmalade. It tasted homemade. Clotted cream was sweet and creamy. The marmalade had a lovely orangey citrus flavor without it being overly sweet with an orange zest bitterness at the end. Everything was so good! I mean, this is what they are known for, so yes, you must order the scones! Btw, they make limited batches, so if you really want to try them, get there early. When I went both times, I went between 11:10am-11:40am. Both times, either the scones were sold out or sausage rolls were sold out. Luckily both times, I had no problem in getting the scones, but the sausage rolls were gone by then. When I went to order, I wanted to get another scone to go, but they were sold out and were making a new batch and was told it was a 30 minute wait time! SMOKED TROUT TOAST Slightly smokey trout flavor, all chopped up and dressed up in mayo. Black pepper and crushed red pepper on top. Served on top of a sourdough bread and with a side of wedge of lemon, which I squeezed on top. Brought a good lemon acid flavor. Sourdough bread was good, but a bit too hard to bite into. EGG SOLDIERS This was good and I never really tried egg soldiers before. Loved how they served two soft-boiled eggs instead of one. The bread they served it with was extra crispy to dip and eat with the eggs, but it was quite hard and overly crunchy for my liking. Almost felt like I was gonna chip a tooth eating it! However, the bread was good and had an oniony flavor. The soft boiled eggs were nicely done and yolks were runny. They give you a small spoon to scoop up the eggs inside and surprisingly all the eggs were so soft, they scooped up so easily. They offer bacon on the side for extra, but I ordered too much food for one, so I passed on it. SAUSAGE ROLL Never had a sausage roll before. So not sure how authentic this would be to Greggs. The sausage roll was thick and had lots of pork and herbacious flavors and the pastry was flaky. The pastry was slightly oily. Sausage roll was good, but not life-changing good. The house-made ketchup had a sweet, savory, earthiness to the ketchup that was unique and I think that's what made the sausage roll better. I think generally people will enjoy the sausage roll if they ordered it. TEA Ordered regular black tea. All they do is drop a mug of hot water with a tea bag in it. But man, it was pricey for a hot cup of tea! $5.00! Out of everything I tried, I really enjoyed the scones and the egg soldiers. Next time I would order bacon with that. They also have other savory menu items, tea cakes and cookies. Haven't tried them, as I read unfavorable reviews on the tea cakes. ORDER As soon as you walk in, you order at the front counter and pay first before being seated. I don't think they take cash, but take credit card only from what I know. AMBIANCE / SEATS The ambiance had that rustic European cafe vibe and it felt cozy. It was busy and getting packed when I got there and because it's a small restaurant, the seats are limited too. There's about 10 tables, but most of them are tables for 2. The tables are quite close together. There is bar seats, but that was for about 4-5 people and the seats looked crammed and uncomfortable. There is a small area where you walk up the small steps to the coffee bar area. There are two tables there too, but not sure if it's available for all diners. There are two small private unisex bathrooms too in the back, but cutely decorated. It fits their European cafe vibe. CUSTOMER SERVICE They lack good customer service. Service isn't friendly. They simply just do their job. People don't really smile either. The two times I've been here, none of the staff members smiled. It's a bit disorganized too. The person who was at the front register also cleaned the tables and sometimes delivered the food to tables. There are other wait staffs, but they were also the baristas at the coffee bar. So basically everyone chipped in. I tried flagging down the person who was originally working at the front register, cleaning tables later, but she ignored me. So I had to wait for another wait staff to ask for a takeout container.

    You MUST go to Wilde's and try EVERYTHING! Was lucky enough to go with a group of friends during their opening weekend and we all had the best time. The interior is cozy, chic, and tastefully decorated. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The menu is precise and delicious. We tried the Welsh rarebit, chicory salad, bangers & mash, duck breast & winter squash, meat pie for two, battered skate, greens, salt & vinegar chips, eton mess, and stick toffee pudding. Loved everything we had! I was just in England and had an amazing sticky toffee pudding at a local pub and Wilde's absolutely rivaled it.

    From start to finish the experience at Wilde's was delightful. We were left in audible awe. The sticky toffee pudding was the cherry on top, something out of this world.

    As a British chick who lives in the neighborhood, I was super excited for this place to open. Sadly, my expectations were not met. When we walked in the door, a woman approached us. I smiled warmly and said, "Hi, Rebecca party of two." She looked at me aghast and said, "I don't work here!" We were off to a poor start. The actual maitre d'/second waiter was friendly enough, but there was nowhere for him to put his iPad. The space is so small. (Former location of Thai on Hillhurst for those who remember.) They really need check-in counter. Just something to make you feel like you've arrived. Rather than awkwardly standing in a crowded space. Accosting strangers! The food was hit or miss. Some real highs, some real lows. We started with the rockfish carpaccio, which was delightful, but didn't feel British at all, very Italian flavor profiles. Also it lacked textural contrast. It had a little finely julienned fennel but it wasn't enough given the fish was (over generously) doused in olive oil. It could use some fresh herbs, or capers, for pops of flavor. Plus, it didn't feel English. Perhaps some cockles or some Scottish mussels would have tied it together better. I also asked our waitress if we should order the bread and butter, and she said no. I disagree. I think that dish could have used a nori cracker, some thinly sliced apple, something to give it a bit of body and crunch. But flavor on point 4/5 Next we had the Coppa Di Testa - again very Italian - England is renowned for it's meat work, head cheese, pate's etc and this was just very average deli meat. It was cut wafer thin, I don't come to a restaurants to eat first communion, sadly the body of pig did not enter my spirit. It came with a slimy melted butter which had no flavor and added a nasty fatty mouthfeel to an already fatty cut of pork. On top of that, the toast they served it with was utterly stale and burned. It's a massive pet peeve of mine when I eat toast that scratches the roof of my mouth. 1/5 Of course we ordered the classic fish with mint, which was incredible. I highly commend them for getting a massive piece of fish perfectly cooked in the middle with a thick but light and airy batter. This was a work of art. Also, the mint sauce it came with was drinkable. That being said, there was a mysterious pile of mint leaves on my plate. Not a a dressed mint salad but not a garnish either. It seemed like someone in the kitchen had scraped down a cutting board and accidentally pushed the leftover mint onto my plate. 5/5 for fish and sauce work. I also did not care for the malt vinegar fries. They were thick-cut and not particularly crispy. That being said, my partner loved them, so I think French Fries diameter is the personal choice, and size really does matter. A point for the kitchen though, their sauce work is amazing. The garlic-y, mustard-y aioli that the French fries came with was excellent. I could have had two more buckets of it. For sauce alone 5/5 We ended the night with the bangers and mash. "Bangers" is a bit of a stretch as they only give you one. Sausage itself was made in-house, and I think they did an excellent job. Well seasoned, beautiful texture. Nicely cooked. But it sat on top of a gummy, over whipped, under seasoned pile of spuds. Again, pretty unappetizing. An insipid gravy didn't do it any favors. Felt like an Oxo cube in some hot water. But again, the sauciere to the rescue. An incredible sort of apple jam mustard relish chutney delight. Plonked right on top. Again, three more buckets of this, please, Chef. 5/5 for sauce and sausage 1/5 for potatoes and gravy. I was disappointed by the decor. It felt like hipster chic meets grandma's attic, and not in a good way. I'm British. I love a homey British pub feeling. I also live in Silver Lake, so I understand minimalism and modern refinement. But I don't like an uninviting space with no artwork. The dominating feature is wooden wainscoting and completely random assortment of vintage mirrors and mismatched lighting. Especially the one ceiling lamp with the wicker shade just felt so late 70s try-hard and utterly out of place. Plus provided no light! But the greatest crime of all was how bloody loud it was. My partner and I, sitting at an intimate two-top, could barely hear each other. There was clearly no soundproofing in the whole space, and the bare walls did nothing to help this. Creating an environment of cacophonous hipster gibberish at an 11. I suggest they get some artwork in there to liven it up a bit, and possibly put some sound-baffling material behind said artwork to try and help with this problem. It really made the whole experience untenable. Service was subpar - our blond waitress was friendly until she found out we weren't ordering drinks - then we never saw her again. I wouldn't rush back sadly without a menu overhaul. I was hoping for elevated British comfort food not minimalist twee Italian offerings.

    It's no surprise a place like this is thriving in Los Feliz. This is a neighborhood full of 20-somethings and 30-somethings who spend all day drinking coffee and walking their dogs. Wilde's is a cozy little spot on a corner of busy Hillhurst Avenue. I've only been here for brunch and it was a very solid meal. The egg soldiers with onion bread hit the spot. The smoked trout toast was creamy, smooth, fresh. Grab a table if you're lucky, or sit at the bar and gaze out the window, people-watching, and daydreaming.

    While in Los Feliz, folks recommended Wilde's to us ans we are SO glad they did! What an amazing little spot. We arrived in time for kind of brunch and ordered a number of items, including the Bacon But (bacon sandwich on housemade onion roll), a couple quiches, and a few scones. Every item was just plain delectable. Honestly, one of the best scones I have ever had. The decor is not fancy,but its comfortable and there are plenty of tables. The staff was very friendly and we got a quick visit from one of the talented pastry chefs! This place is fantastic!

    - Locale Destination - It's on Hilllhurst Ave and Russel Ave in Los Feliz. Restaurants around here all look alike but it's easy to spot. Ambiance: casual but nice bistro like atmosphere, dim, simple, loud but ok Service: this is the biggest issue for me. (I usually don't care about service, though I'm a restaurant consultant - so long as I get fed tasty food in a timely manner). 1) they don't take reservations?!: First come, first serve?! You need to come and put down your names and wait 30 min-2 hrs. They even said putting down the names wouldn't even guarantee me to get served. I understand they just opened and had full of customers already non stop. For the $$$ price point, I think it's problematic for both customers and the restaurant in the long run. Food is so tasty, so I want you to succeed. 2) service level is sadly quite low, especially for the $$$ price point. I did mind the rough service (one of them ran into me, hit my foot yet no apology, tried to serve me the plate right in front of my face, about $100 wine bottle wasn't opened in front of us (though we start seeing it more lately), food delivery was too slow (long wait) cuz they didn't seem to check tables enough etc.). Food quality was so high but even I expect the bottom line basic. Most people do care about service unlike me, so you should improve it. Actually one of the kitchen staff helped the floor - she was very nice. Menu: tapas like small dishes. Fusions from British, Mexican to French dishes with their own unique takes. Quite fun. Wine menu is like that. Price: We ordered many dishes and a bottle wine. +$150 each. Taste and cooking levels are quite high! Parking: street - Gluttony Expedition - Grilled cheese: Bomb. The melting cheese got a meaty yet great flavor! Bread wasn't too soft and crispy - excellent dish! Deep Fried pork dish: pork was seasoned very well, rich but flavorful. The lemon and the sauce cut the heaviness and enhanced the overall quality. Batter was so crispy. Surprisingly great dish! chicharron & jicama salad: meaty chicharron and light jicama go well together. Dressing was light, unique and refreshing. Great. Steelhead carpaccio: good flavors, but a bit too much oil for me. Compared to other dishes, this was a bit weak for me. Chips: one of the best French fries I've ever had (from the fresh potato), though I'm so finicky on French fries. So impressive. Size was perfect, not too skinny and wide. Outside was crispy yet moist inside. That's hard to do it with fresh potato. That's why i generally prefer frozen potatoes to fresh ones. Flavors and texture were unreal. It really showed how high the kitchen level was. You must try it. Fried fish: don't be fooled by typical impression of fish & chips. Fish was meaty, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Batter was so light and crispy but not greasy. I'm not a fan of peppermints, but the fresh mints enhanced the sauce. Simple yet so sophisticated dish. Bravo! Duck: I'm a big fan of duck, so quite tough on this. Duck was cooked well and tender, but I prefer slightly more pink. It was so rich as if I ate with foie gras. Some people might think it was too gamey. It looked French style, yet the sauce was a lot lighter with a touch of vinegar than the one at French bistro. Their own twist to surprise us. For duck, I slightly prefer at Pasjoli in Santa Monica. I'd try other dishes next time. Taffy dessert: texture was quite unique, crumpled but moist at the same time. Flavor was nice but a bit too sweet for me. Espresso: this was too acidic for me. I've tested hundreds of coffee shops, so do understand coffee. Espresso you get in Italy and France were more solid and smooth than this. They use expensive Italian coffee machine, but you should avoid it. - Conqueror's Deduction - I go to restaurants for tasty food, not for service, not for ambience. Service needs improvement, but the food was very creative, unique, fun and solid. The cooking level was very high. You can get this level in San Francisco, but not so much in LA easily. Quite impressive food quality - food only is 4.5 stars! I just don't want to wait that long for food. Definitely I'll go back for the great food!

    went to try the sausage roll during the day time but they were sold out on a weekday around 11. i liked the bread of the breakfast sandwich, the fried egg was an extra $3. i'd go back to try the sausage roll and the dinner menu!

Check that box off here. Very clean. So far so good. Menu was a tad limited. Not a lot of choices. Waitress suggested a secret menu item " The Patty Melt" Wife requested it be cooked medium. Me, I ordered Medium rare. Patty Melts showed up. Well, Well, Well done. Patty melt had onions and special sauce. Was a surprise to me. You would think that with a limited menu the cook would be really good at making a hamburger. And yes I certainly could have done a better job. Was a cook at a high volume restaurant for years and neither of these burgers would have gone out of our kitchen. Had actual pride in what we put out. Very disappointing visit. The 101 was pretty good. Clark Street not so much. Won't be returning here. Overpriced, Overcooked and just plain old disappointing. BTW- It was not busy at all. This was my experience on our visit. Your may be different.

You can go to a run down old diner in any city, but this is the city of the stars. On this trip even though we were already heading to the establishment it must have been an extra slow day because someone was out on the boulevard trying to direct traffic to the restaurant. About 1/3 of the tables were full when we walked in, and it took a few minutes for us to be seen and seated. The wait staff is perhaps a bit understaffed to really be at their best. Our server did not explain much to us as far as the jukebox at our table, if we could use it and how... it would have been nice to know that. I ordered a Caesar salad and a coffee milkshake. When the server asked me if I wanted a small or large salad I asked what the difference in size was, since it wasn't explained on the menu to which they just kind of shrugged at me. Regardless of the perhaps lackluster service I really loved my food, the true, lived in vintage aesthetic and overall experience. Is 10.25 perhaps a bit expensive for a milkshake, i'd say so....but considering the overpriced reality of any trip to Hollywood I think it's something I would not regret spending my money on. Even though I can see why someone would rate this spot a 3, I simply cannot let my own rating fall below a 5 because I know the next time I'm in town it will be looming in my mind as the ideal place to feed my belly and nostalgic heart.

All of our food came out hot and delicious--the short rib grilled cheese was amazing, and the chili was fire! The reason for the lower rating has nothing to do with Jimmy--it's the lack of teamwork. He was doing everything on his own, even helping with other servers' tables and greeting guests at the door. Meanwhile, other staff members were just standing around, moving slowly, and not offering any support. At one point, I asked another employee for creamer, and instead of helping, she just pointed at Jimmy. That really said it all. We honestly felt bad for him. Management should really address this, because the lack of teamwork at this location is noticeable and affects the overall experience. If you go here and want great service, definitely ask for Jimmy.

The menu is packed full of choices to select from. The turkey club is packed full of goodness and served with fries, onion rings, or mac salad. The onion rings are the premier choice though. It actually is a community landmark where locals congregate and hang out. The other plus is that they are Spanish-language friendly. Ambiance is cozy, friendly and homey and service is great! Menu includes standard diner fare, comfort food. We've recently had the open faced hot turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes, which was good, and we enjoyed it. The next time JJ had a bowl of split pea soup, which was excellent! He also had the tuna sandwich, which he enjoyed as well, but said it was a little on the dry side. I ended up deciding on breakfast at 5 pm in the afternoon--- combo with pancakes, eggs over easy and sausages. It was so good! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pancakes were steaming hot and fluffy and the sausages were really plump and juicy. Excellent. Recommended, if you're in the area---give Teddy's a try. Cash only, but there is an ATM inside. Parking lot always has plenty of parking.

My husband and I arrived just before 9 PM on a Wednesday night. The parking lot was almost full, which we took as a good sign. We were told to seat ourselves, given menus, and a busboy kindly brought us water. After that, we were completely ignored for about 10-15 minutes. No server came by to take our order until we had to flag someone down ourselves. It became clear that the two servers had both assumed the other person was taking care of our table. We ordered a slice of the Bavarian Chocolate Banana Cream pie and a slice of pecan pie. Surprisingly, it took quite a while for just two slices of pie to come out. When the pecan pie finally arrived, it was extremely hot, almost as if it had been microwaved too long. It had practically melted onto the plate, and the pecans had a rubbery texture that made it seem reheated. Once it cooled enough to eat without burning your mouth, the flavor itself was mediocre at best. The Bavarian Chocolate Banana Cream pie was somehow even worse. It tasted old, like it had been sitting refrigerated for days. The whipped cream around the edges was overly firm and bordering on dry. The only hint of "chocolate" was the faint beige-brown tint of the filling. On top of that, it had enormous chunks of banana that left literal holes in the filling when removed. Even the crust felt like an afterthought. We took a few bites, asked for the check, and left. For a place called House of Pies, this being our first impression, they may want to consider rebranding to just "House."
