Ooh I don't know... Melanie has cute romantic vibes but the night I went smelled putrid. The inside of the restaurant doesn't smell good at all even though they had a bunch of candles and diffuser sticks. They need to fix something about it because I wouldn't come back here just because of the smell. Our server was very attentive! But the food was just okay. I think the steak frites were overpriced given how bland the fries were, and the steak was a little under seasoned for my taste. The burger was juicy, but it was a little too greasy. Good wine selection though! Overall, I would probably try other restaurants in the area!

Love it so much, got a portrait of it!

My boyfriend and I had our first date here and now it holds a special place in our hearts (I even commissioned a drawing of the facade for our anniversary). The sommelier is fantastic, he walked us through the wine list and treats everyone like family. I've been back several times with my boyfriend, my girlfriends, anyone who will go with me! It's a gem of a spot. Highly recommend!

Great service and great happy hour! They offer patio seating to enjoy your wine as you people watch. Check their board for daily specials!

Cozy inside, chill outside. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there's usually metered street parking if you're patient. The staff know their wine and give great recs without the snob factor. Decent selection, tasty food, and bottles are 50% off on Sundays and Mondays. Good people, good better wine, easy win.

This wine bar has the most delicious food and I've been to most, if not all, wine bars in LA! The tater lots with the spicy aioli are a must and their burger and mushroom risotto are also so delicious. I'm a huge fan of their wine recommendations and every time I come here, I try something different. The owner is so knowledgeable, attentive, and lovely and so my experience is very different from the experience of the reviewer down below. The interior is beautiful and intimate even though it gets a bit loud. Parking isn't too bad in this area with its plentiful street parking. Definitely recommend reserving as it gets popular!

Great cute little wine bar with a little French and Italian mix. The menu is limiting and the place gets loud. Looked like most peeps were in to drink wine and munch on the charcuterie boards with their date. We opted for the tater tots which did not disappoint and both got the burger. Again, delicious but it was bigger than I was expecting for a small wine bar so we really should have just split one.

Came to Melanie for a date night, as I thought it was the perfect type of restaurant for my fiancée. I was right, as she loved it, and I did too. They have half off bottles of wine on Mondays, and starting in January, Sundays as well. We got there early at around 5:30, so we had no problem getting a table. It did get quite crowded after 6:30 though. The ambiance is cute, the service was attentive, and our wine was also very tasty. We tried the hangar steak and the crab fettuccine. The steak was delicious and the crab fettuccini was good, but a little under flavored for my liking. Overall we really enjoyed it.

From the moment we arrived, the team was incredibly accommodating, and having the owner, Adam, present and involved made the experience feel extra special. You can tell this place is run with real pride and passion. The space itself is stunning -- rich with history (we were told it was once Charlie Chaplin's studio and later a library), and you feel that character everywhere you look. Books line the walls, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting. The staff was attentive, kind, and on top of everything all evening, and the food was fantastic. The atmosphere is quiet and sophisticated, the kind of place that immediately lowers your shoulders. The staff are attentive without hovering, genuinely warm, and deeply knowledgeable. Craig and Randee are true sommeliers: intelligent, perceptive, and able to guide you to exactly the right pour based not just on preference, but on mindset. That said, the wine list is so strong you could throw a dart and land well every time. The food complements the experience beautifully. Order a pizza and a charcuterie board and let them do their work alongside the wine. After leaving, I sat in my car for a few minutes just to savor the lingering sense of peace and equilibrium--exactly what I needed to carry me into the following day. V Wine Room isn't just a destination; it's a pause button.

Unfortunately, I think the vibe is completely off with this type of food, and I think it's hurting their customer base (I.e, there's a sports watching day, and live DJ?, but the food is definitely more for upscale vibes). I also didn't know they have a rotating menu with different chefs, so when I came in craving for something like steak frites and find out the don't have it even though their sample menu lists it on their website, it kind of throws my mood a little. Moreover, their wine list is not extensive considering it's a wine bar, and wine mentioned in their name :) Anyways I've digressed. With this special menu, I ordered the scallop tostada and maitake taco. The scallops were very fresh, and it was a very well balanced dish. I would totally order this again! The maitake mushroom was exploding with flavors, though I find the sauce a little too salty for my taste. If I came here just for food, I'd come back and try new things!

For this particular visit in early April 2025, me and a couple of friends came in for a wonderful meal from resident Chef - Paul Chuanchasit. Check their respective IG accounts for the timing and menu info etc. The chef has actually done pop-up dinner nights here previously and I wanted to go, but was unable to for whatever reason. So I was excited to make a reservation during his residency! The menu is streamlined, which is great. I would say that the menu has influences from different cultures, both eastern and western, but with the backbone of Thai cuisine. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We ordered: -Shrimp cigars -Oyster (and scallop) Cardinale -Salmon tartare -Steak frites -Pork toro panang (with some roti on the side to sop up the sauce) -Calpico ice cream (with fig jam and crispy rice) And of course plenty of delicious wine! I was also able to play some of my old French records on their record player on the later side with was fun! On a side note: also came here in the morning during a previous visit and had the biscuits and gravy, which were also very awesome. Enjoyed that meal with a nice cup of coffee while watching some sports.

The staff is well-dressed, well-trained, and genuinely friendly; the host on duty, Bella, tended to us during our short wait, keeping us engaged and getting us seated just as soon as she could. The decor blends spartan industrial chic with dark wood accents that tempter what might be a cold environment, making it inviting and comfortable. Our server, Diego, got right to us, answered menu questions with good humor, and convinced the chef to make my wife a dinner-time dish when he discovered her first selection had run out. Bread service (on request) was artisan sourdough, hot from the oven, served with rich butter and a tiny mound of salt. Simple and very tasty. My wife's Cacio e Pepe was, by her estimation, the very best she's ever had. The al dente pasta was coated in a sharp Parmesan that was keenly offset by the sweetness of a Tomato Jam served on the side. A very well-balanced and satisfying bite. For my own part, the Quiche Lorraine was buttery and rich, and brimming with bacon and cheese. The lightly dressed salad alongside was a perfect foil, cutting the sharpness nicely. I must also mention that the folks next to us had a table full of yummy-looking, yummy-smelling food, from a cheese and charcuterie board to pizza, an omelet and beautifully prepared veggies. It would be easy to order everything on the menu across multiple visits -- and I'm already looking forward to my next time in.

We didn't have reservations, but we were able to grab a table inside at around 5:30pm on a Saturday. This place was busy. I really liked the Hamachi Crudo. That was so good, but there's only 4 slices for about $21. It's dressed in a ponzu yuzu sauce. It was so good that we ended up pouring the left over sauce on to our Tuna Tostada. Both items were fresh and I could not taste any fishiness. We also ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Cacio e Pepe. I thought the risotto was good, but the rice was definitely undercooked. I would have said something, but we didn't have much time left. The pasta reminded me of Mac n Cheese. I thought it was way too salty and didn't really do it for me. Kind of disappointed in the mains, but the 2 apps were really good.
