Came for a friends group event. The space inside is gorgeous, with interesting art and moody lighting. Plenty of cushy booth seating. Outdoor seating space is also well-decorated and both would be good for date-night or groups. Parking was tough, I found street parking two blocks away. Bartenders ignored me when I stood near the bar until a group of women who were dressed up came in and they said "hello" to them. Maybe I wasn't dressed up enough for them. But they eventually helped me. To start, we got green olives. They were seasoned with oil and not too salty. Unremarkable. The arugula salad was nicely balanced w/ sweet fruit. The burrata salad also had fig in jt and I didn't like it as much. The cucumbers were refreshing. The Brussels sprouts were tasty and roasted nicely. I couldn't really taste the pomegranate vinaigrette. The prawns had a nice bite to it but I did not like the pepperocini sauce it came in. The bread was very hard. The calamari was not seasoned enough but it had a nice crunch. The dipping sauce was okay. Truffle fries were well-seasoned and delicious The steak was cooked well. The mushrooms were a standout. The lobster Mac and cheese had truffle and was tasty. The lamb chops were well seasoned and tender. I didn't like the octopus. Roasted potato was good. Shishito peppers were good. The pistachio ricotta cake is not too sweet. The same bartender that ignored me also helped our table and didn't bring my friend her salad after being asked 3 times and served everyone dessert except me. Service for our entire dinner was 3 hours.

    Mac and cheese. Salmon. Steak.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The food is incredible and the ambience is super chill. Everything we had was delicious. Great steak, great Mac and cheese, salmon, and brussel sprouts. Will definitely be coming back.

The entire space is elegant, polished, and unmistakably Dior--right down to the tableware and everything your food is served on. What I also liked was how easy it seemed to stop in without making a reservation. There were plenty of open tables when I visited, so it could be a nice spontaneous break while shopping on Rodeo. They currently offer a tasting menu, and I was told that an à la carte menu will be available soon as well. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere is really what makes the experience. It does feel a little unusual at first because you're essentially dining in the middle of a luxury shopping environment, with the café, bar, and boutique all blending together. But that is also part of the charm--you're not just eating at a café; you're getting the full Dior experience. As for the food itself, I wasn't particularly impressed. Nothing was bad, but considering the setting and the Dior name, I expected the flavors to be more memorable. For me, this is a place I would recommend more for the beautiful atmosphere, service, and overall experience than for the food alone. Definitely worth stopping by if you're already on Rodeo Drive, especially if you love Dior--but I'd come for the experience rather than expecting the food to be the highlight.

We asked for a quick wipe down and the server acted as if he was too good to wipe a table. He took forever to get a rag, over dramatically wiped the table, stormed off to put the rag back and took forever to return. He had a smug attitude when we asked a few questions about the menu items. The most forced fakest smile as we thanked him for answering question and taking our order. He forgot half our menu items, Never returned. Both my friend and I had to get up, walk to the bar to get some help. We sat so long for our order to be corrected, our food got cold. The food was disgusting, unoriginal and way way way over priced. But the way we were treated was the worst part. I've never seen a server SOOOO put out by being asked to wipe a table and answer some questions. I live up the street, I will never give this establishment a cent again There are a million places to eat where the food is good and you won't get treated like shit. Horrible horrible

What a fantastic place! It took me working with an…read moreex-employee of Republique to even find out this place existed. His advice: "go in the morning, their cakes and pastries are killer; a long line forms even before they open, it will be worth it" it's hard to not go broke here, they have sometimes unnusual combinations of pastries that are always incredible! Their chocolate + salted caramel cake is my husband's favorite, its a bit much for me but I cannot deny its beauty and quality. I love all the passion fruit desserts, their danishes, anything with Caramel is also my husband's jam. Come hungry, eat something here, take some home. When dining in I've loved a slice of their quiche of the day, they give you a nice side salad with a zesty dressing, I also love ordering the baguette with salted slow-churned cultured butter (Rodolphe Le Meuiner Beurre de Baratte) and jam - simple but WOW! Fantastic place for those coming to LA for the first time, the building is just gorgeous, and for those who live in LA: you should come! I love a good french pastry, I don't come in often but when I do I am always satisfied

The Bottom Line 4.5 stars: Highly recommended culinary destination. A few reservations as noted…read morebelow. Location 4 stars: On the east side of South LaBrea Ave between Wilshire and 6th street. Paid valet parking next to the venue. There is also limited metered street parking and third party paid parking lots. Venue 5 stars: Beautiful, charming historical building originally designed in 1928 by architect Roy Seldon Price for Charlie Chaplin as a mixed office/store complex. More recently it housed LaBrea Bakery and the Campanile Restaurant before Republique opened in 2013. A few outdoor tables as well as many indoor community and private standard and high tables, and a full bar. There are also some seating upstairs, sometimes reserved for private groups. They in fact operate two distinct Republique restaurants here. Morning to 2 PM they serve breakfast and lunch and bakery items. It's a more casual order-at-the-counter-and-they-bring-it-to your table set-up. At night it's a formal sit-down restaurant. Republique has become a huge tourist spot and you see a lot of international visitors there. Billing 1 star: They charge a 4% surcharge up and above the prices on the menu. I find this confusing and misleading. Why not simply reflect this in your prices? Service 4 stars: Polite and to the point. Food 4 stars: New American fare with French influences. I have only been there for breakfast and lunch and cannot rate the fancier dinner items. My favorites are the Lobster Omelet, the Mushroom Toast and the Croque Madame. I found the Eggs Benedict and the Steak Frites a bit underwhelming. The Eggs Benedict lacked flavor and the steak was a little tough and chewy... I also felt that the Fingerling Potatoes and the French Fries were way too salty. Drinks 4 stars: Full bar, specialty cocktails and coffee/matcha. No mainstream soft drinks. I have had the Ube Coconut Matcha Latte (it was overwhelmingly sweet!), the Tiramisu (it's a drink! delicious), the Green Shake (smoothie, quite good) and the hot Cappuccino (ok). Serving sizes are on the smaller size.

The waffle was a huge miss for this dish - the waffles were very sad making everything texture wise all feel the same. A crispier waffle would have helped this dish instead it felt like eating soggy bread on an eggs Benedict. The poached egg and sauce was nothing special. One of my friends also got a poached egg..but it was extremely overcooked no runny yolk :( so it looks like their technique could use a little work - not what you expect from a famous brunch place The French toast we got to share for the table and it was very boring - it's as it sounded like a French toast with Nutella and some whip cream and fruits on the side. The bread was just ok. Maybe I should have gotten the chicken and waffles but I don't think I'll be back - there are better brunch options that are more fairly priced in LA with more parking. Maybe it was an off day but it's too popular for what it is
