Burrata Salad - 4/5 Oysters - pretty fresh! 5/5 Wagyu Nigiri - 5/5 melts in your mouth BTS roll - 4/5 not bad not the best Truffle Fries - 5/5 cooked & seasoned to perfection! Ribeye - 4.5/5 Desserts were good. Would come back again! :)
Valentine's Day at Red Fish truly felt like a couples' holiday. The entire atmosphere was centered around celebrating love dim lighting, full tables, and that unmistakable date-night energy. It was a beautiful place to spend the evening. As soon as we walked in, we were seated right away, which I appreciated especially on such a busy night. The restaurant was packed, and for a short while we did feel a bit forgotten but once things got moving, the service flowed much better. Because it was so busy, it's not necessarily a place where you feel individually catered to during peak holidays. One small suggestion would be for servers to introduce a popular or featured dish upfront to help guide guests when the room is full. That said, the food and drinks were really good and absolutely worth it. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. I do wish I had tried dessert I'll definitely save that for next time. Overall, it was a lovely Valentine's experience, and I would return for another special occasion.

I've eaten at so many sushi places in LA, and I'm not joking when I say this is some of the best nigiri I've ever had; shockingly fresh and succulent. I can't wait to come back and try the Bluefin tuna rolls , I could eat this sushi everyday. If you still have room for house made dessert, do not skip it; the cheesecake was excellent and the crème brûlée was to die for. The service is excellent and the environment is so nice. Special shoutout to Hunter who really made our evening super fun and relaxing. Do not sleep on this place, it's amazing and we'll be back with friends and family.
I can't never say no to caviar and gold flakes on my sushi rolls! When driving on Melrose and craving seafood, we stopped by the Red Fish for their upscale seafood and sushi options! We got their: Japanese Salad Yellowtail Carpaccio Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Golden Roll Lemon Roll BTS Roll Matcha Tempura Ice Cream Yuzu Whiskey Sour Every single thing we got was delicious! My favorite rolls were the BTS and Lemon Rolls, and I could probably eat another plate or two of their Japanese salad. The spicy tuna crispy rice came as expected, and the yellowtail carpaccio was light and refreshing. They have a great selection of cocktails to pair with your meal, and you need to get their tempura ice cream for dessert. It's a great spot to go for a relaxed date night while enjoying some cocktails and elevated sushi rolls. There's a decent amount of street parking around, but they also have valet when it gets busy. Definitely recommend stopping by!
This review is for the social hour only. We dropped in early on a weeknight and ordered several food and drink items from the "social hour" menu. It had quite a good selection for a happy hour, and very good prices. The outstanding items were the spicy scallop hand roll, the spicy tuna cut roll, and the fried tempura branzino bites. The branzino was very lightly breaded and fried to a nice crispy texture without being overly oily. The one miss was the fried calamari which had a much heavier breading. The rainbow roll was fine but I've had better. The service was very good. Granted there weren't many people there at such an early hour (5pm) on a weeknight, but Patricio the bartender was super nice and attentive. The restaurant underwent a major renovation and recently opened, and it shows.
9/10 Overall: I really enjoyed the food here; the fish was incredibly fresh, and everything tasted amazing. The ambiance is also beautiful, very intimate, and perfect for a celebration or a nice dinner with loved ones! My bf and I came here for our anniversary, and they gave us a dessert on the house. It was wonderful! My only concern was the service; it was a bit slow considering there weren't that many people at the restaurant. It took us quite a while to get the bill and leave, especially since we were trying to catch some 4th of July fireworks and ended up missing them :( Bluefin tuna carpaccio $32: 5/5 My favorite thing we got! So fresh and yummy, no fishy taste at all! The slices were also pretty generous. Toro tartare with caviar $32: 5/5 Super fresh, the avocado was amazing as well! Came with four chips which went perfectly with the tartare. I wish they gave a little more chips though! BTS roll $25: 5/5 Generous portions of salmon and tasted sooo yummy. Again, fish is so fresh you can really taste the quality! Good rice to fish ratio. Lamb chops $65: 4/5 Lamb chops were very tender and the purple potato chips paired sooo well with the lamb! The chimichurri was also delicious but I do think its a bit pricey for 3 small lamb chops. Spicy tuna crispy rice $25: 3.5/5 I wish the rice was a bit crispier. The amount of tuna was very generous though and again, very fresh fish! Truffle fries $18: 3/5 I'm not a super big fan of thicker fries, I wish they were thinner and more crispy! I didn't taste much truffle either, I wish there was a bit more flavor. Lava Cake: 4/5 Comped by the restaurant for our anniversary! Super cute and was yummy. The ice cream came half melted though.
Happy hour (social hour) is amazing! The rock shrimp is one of the best I've ever had and the sushi is so fresh. Sat at the bar and Patricio was so kind and efficient. This place is such a gem, will 1000% be back
YUM! Food, ambiance, service -- all amazing! Very intimate, dimly lit restaurant perfect for date night or a special occasion! Red fish margarita -- sooo good! Very refreshing, light, and cool bubbly presentation! Lemon roll -- delicious!! Please order if you like citrusy sushi! Albacore carpaccio -- my favorite! The crispy onions and hidden jalapeños were the perfect combination! Lobster ravioli - delicious sweet potato sauce, but we do wish the serving was larger! Nigiri -- yum! Sexy roll -- refreshing and great choice if you don't want a roll with rice! Mashed potatoes -- crispy onions?! Genius! Filet mignon - tender, juicy, and perfectly roasted and charred on the edges! Totally recommend visiting this spot! It's a little on the pricey side, but it had a great variety of foods if you and your partner are split on what to eat! Everyone was also very kind and professional, which made the experience much more enjoyable!
This is a very nice restaurant in West Hollywood. The food is very pretty and service is exceptional. It's a bit pricey but I think it's worth it for a celebration. Fish sushi are good and cooked dishes are very good. I won't recommend A5 wagyu since it's very chewy and not melt-in-the-mouth like other places I've tried. They have happy hours that save quite a lot for the appetizers.
Literally the best sushi in town! I love the Red Fish! We order from here at least once a week! The fish is so fresh and delicious and the sushi actually tastes good when you bring it home. So excited about this place!

Amazing! Very good service! Friendly hostess, waiters, and bartenders. Their happy hour menu is really great and has many options. Carpaccio was delicious! Oysters, hand rolls, and rolls are yummy! And yes! Cream brûlée is... something out of this world! The restaurant is clean, fresh, and comfortable for a date and for a party as well. The only issue is parking. Unfortunately, during my visit, I had a quest to find a parking spot. Hopefully, next time, valet service will be available.
Some of the best service I've ever had. Great food, too. I went there for an event. They picked a perfect place. It's pretty quiet. There's a TV at the bar, and the bar is also in the main room, but it works. A huge shoutout to our server, Levi. One of the best in the business. He really made this an extra special experience for us. We all had various rolls, and they were all works of art....and yes, they were delicious. I had cheesecake for dessert. Probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. Nice 'n light. Perfect!! There's a social hour, which I'm guessing is another name for happy hour, daily from 5-7 pm with a nice variety of food and drink specials. They have parking on the side of the building. If I could give The Red Fish more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! My partner and I dined here in celebration of our anniversary, and we could not have had a better experience. The hostess was super kind and led us to a table right next to a beautiful olive tree in the main seating area, which made for a very comfortable vibe and a lovely view. Our server, Levi, provided outstanding service throughout the night and was super knowledgeable and attentive. He was honestly the main reason we had such a lovely time, as his energy was great and he was constantly checking in on us and making sure we were satisfied with everything. To drink, we had the Yuzu Whiskey Sour and the Melrose Passionfruit Martini, both of which were refreshing, delicious, and paired well with our food selection. I also had a Raspberry Breeze mocktail, which was sweet, tart, and bubbly! To eat, we started with the Rock Shrimp, which had a great spicy flavor and crunch to it. We also tried the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, which I liked, but I think the price on this item is a little steep, and you might be better off ordering another roll or menu item. For rolls, we ordered the Crunchy, the Tiger, the Lemon, and the Killer. Of these, my favorite had to be the Killer, as it was super fresh and had a great kick to it. Chef Salvador graciously sent over some Bluefin Tuna and Yellowtail nigiri for my partner and me to try, and it was such a thoughtful gesture and delicious treat for us. We were also kindly given a key lime pie to end our meal and celebration on a sweet note. The presentation for everything was lovely, and I really enjoyed the little radish stars! Overall, the fish is among the best and freshest I've had, the drinks are great, and the service is unmatched; I truly felt catered to and cannot wait for my next experience here! we just moved to the area and cannot wait to come back!! Levi hands down incredible service! so attentive, helpful with the menu, even told us about the space and the owners (who btw are extensively experienced caterers if anyone is in need!). what i loved is that he wasn't like a server during other happy hours where they avoid you that last 10 mins.. he came by at least 2x before happy ended. he threw in a couple extra treats and we were so grateful The hostess was also so lovely and helpful! i called in advance to see if our dog could sit a us on the patio and and she was so friendly and said yes! and it's not even the outside patio, its the gorgeous internal patio! when we arrived she was just as friendly, they even let us sit at a 4 top vs 2 which was nice now the food -- it all came out impeccably timed. so fresh and for happy hour.. wow the deals are actually 50% off and it's the same size portions!!!! you do not see that in LA. We loved it all; i especially loved the happy hour ($7) hand roll selection and the rock & pop roll was nice, especially with the spicy ponzu! the bartender is delivering beautiful happy hour cocktails and the Sake selection is on point! they offered a dry sake as a treat -- so thoughtful and honestly a great sake can't wait to get it next time. the world cup game was playing and the ambiance inside and out was beautiful, we cannot wait to become regulars read more

Came here for dinner and honestly everything was excellent from start to finish. The food, the service, and the overall atmosphere all felt very polished and upscale without being pretentious. We ordered the shishito peppers, Caesar salad, ribeye, broccolini, a sushi roll, and an arugula salad, and every dish was well executed. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flavors across the board were solid. Even the dessert presentation was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. The ambiance is great for a date night. Comfortable booth seating, a nice wine wall behind us, and a warm, intimate vibe overall. Special shout-out to the manager, Cele, who made sure everything ran smoothly and checked in on us. You can tell the place is well managed. Definitely looking forward to coming back. read more

This restaurant has the best sushi I have ever eaten in ALL of California. The sashimi, nigiri and sushi rolls were so fresh. The wagyu melted in our mouths and the pancakes were so tasty. Also the service was OUTSTANDING. Levi gave us the best service we have ever had. He was so knowledgeable, sweet and went above and beyond to make sure our experience at the restaurant was great. I should have listened to the warning sign when we walked up to an nearly empty restaurant. But after working in restaurants for years, I know slow nights can bring out a team's best and service here was exactly that. Formal, welcoming and very attentive. Unfortunately, the food and odd presentation missed the mark. They added flourishes that felt performative while skipping essentials. We ordered a dirty martini and were surprised to see the olives simply smothered in gold leaf--why? The ceviche arrived in a carved-out coconut that clearly took more effort than the dish itself. The portion was small, maybe four ounces of fish total. The flavor was there, but the value just wasn't. We also tried a few pieces of nigiri (more gold leaf) which ended up being the highlight. The kampachi nigiri in particular was the best bite of the night. The $70 NY steak, however, was a letdown. We ordered it medium-rare but it came out seared on both sides, raw in the middle and the fat was not rendered. It was our anniversary too so that stung a little. Overall, it was a strange experience. Support Melrose but maybe skip this spot. read more

Amazing new addition to the WeHo dining scene! Delicious and creative take on a number of dishes - the Mexican influence is superb without losing the essence and tradition of the staple sushi items. If you have a hankering for Japanese standards, they do them and do them well. But, if you want to take a walk on the spicy side, they will knock your socks off. Really enjoyed my time here. I ordered one salmon Nigiri and the chefs threw in three others for me to try complimentary. As well as a free dessert. My server was Levi. He was very friendly, all smiles, and he even walked me to the door at the end of my lunch. (It was a slow evening). 10/10 lunch, the quality of the fish especially was impeccable, attentive service, nice ambiance. I loved the crème brûlée as well. I'll be back soon! This place just opened (it's where the brunch spot Taste Kitchen used to be). I was walking past with my dog early on a Friday night, and decided to stick my head in - they have renovated it really well, there is an inside and outside areas - an odd layout they had to deal with which was left by Taste Kitchen. It looks really nice. (Must admit I don't love the high top tables at the front, but that's just me.) I walked past the sushi bar and the fish looked so fresh I decided to sample some take out sushi - it was good. Fish was fresh and tasty, although I would have poured some ponzu over the yellowtail nigiri. Nice serving sizes too, fish cuts were generous. I waited at the bar while the takeout was being made - the staff were friendly and even brought my dog some water which I appreciated. The take out was presented beautifully, the ginger was fresh not prepackaged and the rolls tasted great! The bar is comfortable and the cocktails look great! (I did not indulge). The background music also complemented to look of the restaurant - comfortable and enjoyable. I will go back and try dinning in next time - welcome to the neighborhood. read more

Walked in on a Saturday for lunch. Delicious food, VERY friendly staff, wonderful environment. My teenager and I are on a 3week roadtrip so plan for 1-2 VERY special meals a week. This one was worth the price tag in terms of quality and experience. read more

I recently celebrated my birthday at The Red Fish and I couldn't have asked for a better birthday celebration. The staff was also super cute from the second I walked in, they greeted me, said happy birthday, helped me with my jacket and asked if I was here to have a great time which was honestly very welcoming. They also took all of the gifts and put them on the side, which was great because I didn't feel like I had to fuss in making space for everything. From start to finish everything was absolutely perfect and it was the best setting for a fun party with my friends. The food was also delicious. We all work in the hospitality industry and we discussed how every dish that was given to us was delicious and the presentation of each plate was also very appealing to the eye. The sushi was also very fresh and beautifully presented. We had sushi, Japanese salad, and pasta. The drinks on the menu were either margaritas or beer. Because we were a large party, I thought it would be best to create a set menu. What really made the experience stand out though was the service . Cele the owner is truly remarkable, and his staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed and made the whole evening very special. They were very attentive and friendly making sure I wasn't missing anything and most importantly kept making sure the drinks were flowing on the table. I would definitely recommend the redfish to anyone looking to host a special event . They made my birthday celebration, truly unforgettable, and I cannot wait to go back. I stopped in after visiting a pop-up next door and was pleasantly surprised by both the food and overall experience. I ordered the short rib burger, which came with a generous portion of tender meat and perfectly cooked fries. Our server was friendly and helpful, letting us know about the great happy hour specials and Wednesday deals. I'll definitely be back! read more

The Red Fish is such a gem that I got to experience. The service and friendly staff really make an impact to this place. Not to mention the design and decor. The quality of food is top notch and the beverage program is absolutely amazing. From its well balanced drinks to it's savory meals. Spacious, clean and detailed service with a Japanese certification to prove its legitimacy. A great place to hang with friends or a cute intimate date night. A must experience. read more

One of my favorite go to places to go to whether it's for work meetings, dinner with friends or to have a bite in general. Overall food quality always exceeds my expectations. Their drinks are always a bonus. Top favorites: Yuzu Whiskey Sour, The Red Fish Margarita, WeHo, and their 24 Karat Espresso Martini.
