Cool vibe, great drinks, mediocre dumplings. I was really excited to try this place but left a little disappointed. There's very limited bar seating - so it's a bit crammed, but it does have a cool ambiance. The drinks were surprisingly unique and delicious - I had the yuzu piña, which I deff recommend. Food wise, the menu is pretty small. We tried the spicy tuna on crispy rice (great) as well as their signature gyoza (meh). They definitely looked better than they tasted - we found them almost watery inside and lacking a lot of flavor.

Gyoza Bar was very dark and dimly lit inside, I felt lowkey underdressed in a t shirt and shorts, but I liked the vibes. The menu was simple but the tuna crispy rice and pork gyoza were delicious and I would go back and get them again. They serve lunch which is surprising since it feels so late-night vibes I guess, but honestly the price isn't bad for what you get, so it definitely could be a good lunch option, too.

This new restaurant in West Hollywood is nestled back behind a cozy walkway dimly lit which opens into a true nostalgic speakeasy vibe upon entering. I really enjoyed their large pork bowl for lunch. All items were perfectly cooked and seasoned. This is a second location for them. I would encourage anyone to come give it a try. The gentleman behind the counter was highly professional and suggested my meal choice. Unfortunately, I ate everything before I could take a picture but the presentation of the food was great. I'll look forward to my next visit.

Once you get INSIDE you are met with a super friendly welcoming staff ready to serve you the tastier savoriest dumplings!

At 6pm, we were only 1 of 2 parties; by 7:30pm, all the inside & outdoor patio tables were filled except for a couple. A large party made the indoor atmosphere pretty loud, but after they left it was easy to have audible conversation. Several people came in to pick up to go orders while we were there. Service was really warm, food came out so fast & everything was DELISH: Beef bowl - marbled beef cooked w/onions on rice. So tender & flavorful! Spicy tuna bowl - spicy tuna over rice, with a wasabi ponzu sauce. Yum! Albacore hand roll - fresh & buttery Eel hand roll - melt in your mouth delicious We were there early so it was easy to find parking at a meter. I can see why they get such consistently great reviews! I'll be back to try their yummy looking udon dishes. Highly recommend!!

I ordered a diet coke, two orders of the eel sushi (each order comes with only two pieces!). I didn't feel four pieces of eel sushi was good value for $16. The hand rolls were $6 a piece which were smaller than the average hand rolls. The eel had great flavor, but the spicy tuna was off. Oh how I wish I didn't have to walk through the kitchen to get to the restrooms. I didn't enjoy seeing the behind the scenes of it all. And the bathrooms need to be cleaned better, especially around the base of the toilets. They smelled awful. I hate to say this, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Tucked away on 6th Street, this spot feels like a cozy, sophisticated secret that opens up into a world of incredible flavors and top-tier hospitality. Here is why it's my new favorite spot in K-Town: The Soba is Mandatory: They are famous for their Handmade Soba, and for good reason. The texture is perfect--firm with a clean, nutty finish. Whether you get it cold with a dipping sauce or in a warm broth, you can taste the craft in every bite. Incredible Small Plates: The menu is designed for sharing, and every "bite" is a hit. The Tuna Carpaccio is incredibly fresh, and the Agedashi Tofu has that perfect delicate crunch while remaining silken on the inside. The "Mi Young" Hospitality: The service here is what really sets it apart. The staff is warm, attentive, and they make you feel like a regular on your very first visit. They are excellent at suggesting sake pairings that complement the specific dishes you order. Atmosphere: The vibe is "elevated cozy." It has beautiful wood accents, dim lighting, and a refined yet relaxed energy. It's the perfect escape from the hectic pace of the city--ideal for an intimate date night or a deep catch-up with close friends. The Highballs: Their drink game is on point. The highballs are crisp, perfectly carbonated, and serve as the ultimate palate cleanser between savory plates. Pro Tip: This is a smaller, intimate space and it fills up fast with locals who know what's up. Definitely try to grab a reservation or head there early to secure a spot! Izakaya Mi Young is a beautiful addition to the neighborhood. It's soulful, delicious, and executed with a level of care that is hard to find.

Although it didn't necessarily live up to the hype, it was definitely an authentic spot tucked in a busy area of LA. Parking, was particularly hard to find. Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Immediately greeted by a friendly staff who showed us our table. Ambience was reminiscent of a local spot you'd find in Tokyo. A comforting, warm, bright place that serves as a familiar dinner spot that makes me wanna go back to Japan. For first timer, the menu was slightly hard to navigate. Lol, but I guess that speaks to the authenticity of the Japanese menu. Assorted pork belly wrapped yakitori/skewers, 7.8/10: these were hyped up by both my friend and the server, but overall it was slightly underwhelming. The skewers were all seasoned nicely, although they were a bit hard to eat since they were so big. Starting with the pork belly wrapped cabbage skewer, I don't believe the cabbage added any sustenance to the dish. I did like the bacon wrapped tomato skewer since the pop of acidity and freshness from the tomato paired well with the fat from the pork. Chicken Karaage, 9.1/10: definitely the best dish here. Chicken was fried perfectly, and was warm when it came out. The batter was not too thick or heavy. Season well with enough space. The lemon is a must for acidity and brightness. And of course they kewpie mayo is a nice touch. Tonkotsu Ramen, 7.5/10: the pork broth was rich and deep. The noodles were nice and chewy and firm clinging onto that broth. However, the portion was a bit small for the price. I was caught off guard by that. Granted, this place doesn't boast about the ramen. Overall, this wasn't anything mind blowing. Stuffed chicken wing, 8/10: stuffed generously with ground chicken ginger scallions and seasonings. The outside skin was flavorful crispy and savory. The temperature of the wings were pretty good too. Solid.

Right away, you could tell this place is run with professionalism and care. The owner himself, dressed sharply in a beautiful suit, personally greeted and seated us with such kindness and politeness. The sea bass was especially phenomenal, buttery and perfectly cooked. The Yaki Onigiri had an incredible crisp texture with amazing flavor, and the lamb was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Our main server, Ako, was absolutely wonderful. She had such a radiant smile and calming yet upbeat energy that made the whole dining experience feel warm and welcoming. Although multiple staff members helped throughout the evening, everyone worked together seamlessly and attentively. One thing that really stood out was how incredibly hardworking and detail-oriented the entire staff is. Nothing goes unnoticed. Empty plates are cleared immediately, tables are kept spotless at all times, and the service flows so smoothly from one dish to the next. Also worth mentioning: the bathrooms were exceptionally clean, which honestly says a lot about a restaurant.
