My wife and I had our wedding here in October and it was perfect. La Boheme exceeded every one of our expectations. Mayah went above and beyond, helping us every step of the way, answering all our questions, accommodating every request, and doing everything she could to make our day so special and perfect. She was smart, kind, caring, capable and responsive throughout the year+ process it took to plan the wedding. I can't even begin to express our gratitude for her. My friends and I went there for burlesque night on a Saturday evening. The dancers were amazing and such a vibe. We ordered appetizers, drinks and food. Everything was delicious! For drinks I got the "situationship", if you love mezcal this is a must! For food, I ordered the fillet, medium done, which was perfectly cooked and so juicy. On a recent trip, the husband and I ordered oysters, lamb pappardelle and a chicken Caesar salad. Oysters were fresh, with hints of grapefruit cutting through the briny oyster meat. Pretty presentation. Lamb pappardelle felt under seasoned tbh. Could've used more sauce. The husband's salad was "fine." I hadn't dined here since the last century and it's better than ever . Outdoor space for dining is decorated ala Ibiza style. Parking tight but available in side streets. Our server Patrick was knowledgeable and his menu recommendations were accurate. Had such a great time at La Bohème--this place is definitely a whole vibe! The ambiance was beautiful and made the experience feel a little extra special. I also loved that they have heaters for outdoor dining, which made it super comfortable even at night. The food was delicious--I couldn't resist ordering another round of their calamari lol, it was that good! The drinks were also on point, thanks to Jessica, our waitress. She gave amazing recommendations, was super attentive, and answered all of our questions about the menu. She really made the experience even better. The only downside is parking. There's only street parking available--I was able to find some, but I did go later in the evening, so I'm not sure how easy it is during busier hours or if valet is available. So I wanted to rate this place 5 stars because the food was phenomenal, the ambiance was to die for, and the service was great. However, the bathrooms were terrible. For such a massive restaurant they only had 3 singles. It was a 15/20 minute wait to use the bathroom! Thats ridiculous! There was someone in front of me who almost peed on herself waiting. They should make each bathroom two stalls and then the line would be better. This needs to be fixed. Ok now on to the food and drinks. They have happy hour till 7 even on Saturdays! Umm thats fabulous! The lychee martinis and the spicy margaritas were so delicious! We each got two drinks. They tasted consistent which is great when ordering the same drink! The oysters were the best I've ever had. So much that I still think of them. 10 out of 10 not notes. The crustinis were super yummy! Can't wait to try the other flavors. They had so many good ones! I parked in the meter adjacent to the valet booth (there were two empty spaces in front of me so the valet was not blocked), as I needed to safely check and answer phone messages en-route to a private art reception for Frieze. I was interrupted by loud banging on my car hood, with a valet gesturing that I should move my car. I may have inadvertently been in the wrong by parking in a metered space reserved for valet parking (as I mentioned there were two empty spaces in front of me). But that does not excuse the valet forcefully and loudly physically banging on my car hood. When I informed said valet that in the future he should not bang on people's cars, but rather politely inform them and ask them to move their cars, as physically hitting a car could potentially be considered criminal vandalism or mischief in some jurisdictions, he reacted in an aggressive manner. I informed the hostess of the valet's intransigence and potentially criminal behavior, but have no idea if that information would be communicated or if anything will be done Apparently trying to helpfully inform a restaurant employee that they've already engaged in potentially criminal behavior while on the job and to please proceed in a different more polite and professional manner in the future are now to be met with aggressive response. One would think an employee would be more aware of the reputational damage this might cause to their place of employment by engaging in such questionable physical behavior I cannot comment on the food or ambience but the outdoor seating does look well appointed. A previous reviewer described the outside decor as reminiscent of Ibiza. We went to the WeHo Halloween carnival, La Bohème is at the east end of the street closure and less crowded than most of the other bars and restaurants. We stopped there for a cocktail and a salad. We had the blackberry bramble and the southwestern chicken salad. Both were very good. The seating was quite lovely. We sat outside and it's a lovely garden setting. The inside was even more impressive with rich colors, dim lighting and large chandeliers. our waitress was quite pleasant and helpful, although we did not see her enough. Only good thing about this place are the vibes & performers. Everything was a disaster from the start. Running 10 mins late and tried calling a million times as to which it's an AI machine that attempts to connect me to a human but no one answered even after 10 calls. I arrive and there are 15 people waiting in line as if it's a club. Why? Because the host with the glasses is extremely slow... & she has to walk each person to their table on her own. People who made reservations need to wait in the same line as walk ins. So I stood there for 15 minutes waiting making me 30 minutes late to my reservation for the burlesque show. All that, just for the food to be the most expensive mid food you'll ever try. I appreciate the attempts with the vegan options. But if you're going to have mushroom wings please at least make it edible. The ricotta blossoms were good. Nothing is worth the price at all. Tips: maybe have two hosts, one for checking people in & one for walking people to the table. The Bohemian life -- that is how I would translate it and believe me, I am so here for this atmosphere. I had this place on my list for a year and finally decided to go this weekend. Originally, I had an evening reservation but then decided to make it an afternoon at my usual preferred time. One thing that did was give me easy parking, literally right outside the restaurant at a two-hour meter. There is so much right about this place and so much potential for improvement to make it truly stellar. First, the property and structure could not be more perfect. This is a large lot on Santa Monica Boulevard, one of it's prettiest stretches. The building looks as if it were built 100 years ago, imposing stone, soaring ceilings, a beautiful wall around it, a welcoming entrance, lush with plants. There is a convenient menu outside, as if the setting and architectural splendor wasn't enough. Stepping through the entryway, there is a huge, shaded patio lined with beautiful carpets and outfitted with elegant tables. On a hot summer day as it was yesterday, this is your best option. If you are dining before dark, eat outside, definitely. But, I wanted to be seated inside, as I had seen the photographs of the extraordinary interior and, since this was my first visit to La Bohème, and the indoor dining room is it's unique feature (there are pretty patio dining spots all over Los Angeles), I thought this was the best option, even foregoing the evening glamor, lighting, and entertainment, which I think I can catch another time, if I decide to put it in the rotation ...). And, the interior room is truly stunning. Even in the bright lights, it is well appointed and maintained. My photographs will show you what I saw, in bright afternoon light. Let's talk about the service. The people who greeted us and escorted us to our table were frostily polite, not particularly solicitous of us, even with our considerate reservation and being on time. Our server, Pablo, was courteous and efficient. He asked us questions to ensure we had what we wanted and even remembered a few things I mentioned and followed up to be sure I had ordered them. The entire space is clean and the windows -- of which this place is truly made -- were all spotless. There are all sorts of grand-scale statues and design elements, like a floor to ceiling fireplace (hope it is lit in the winter). The menu is excellent with great balance. I would say at least one quarter of each course could be vegetarian or vegan, which is wonderful for me. The ordering process was smooth and there were three people attending to our table at all times. The food was mixed. My Negroni was perfect, even though I can only manage a few sips. I had an exceptional Mushroom soup (soup of the day), that was at just the right temperature. My Eggs Benedict with salmon were also perfectly done. We also had a superb Caesar Salad and utterly divine Strawberry Trifle. Iced water was constantly replenished. There was no bread served, but perhaps that is not done at brunch (which ends at 3:45 pm, a nice long stretch). However, my roasted potatoes were so hard as to be inedible. The beans that accompanied the vegan Burrito, itself good not memorable, were undercooked and hard as well. Those two things are easily remedied, if more attention would be given to them even on the weekend, even for brunch, even at an off hour. The biggest headache was that on this very warm and humid day, the entire interior space was not air conditioned and there was no air circulation whatsoever. They simply have to correct this problem or not seat people in that room on a hot day. I had to fan myself with the menu the entire time -- annoying. Couldn't there be some fans hidden somewhere? I am not a restaurateur, but this is a must. In addition, probably because they have no ventilation in there during the day (I hope they put the AC on at night!) they left the doors open and we were plagued with flies the entire time. This is a blatant HACCP violation (remember, I am a professionally trained baker) and absolutely has to be corrected in whatever way other restaurants manage it. How can you have an A rating from the Health Department when there are flies all over people's food? I wanted this to be a great experience and it could be. Most of the elements are here. The things that I found to be lacking can be easily corrected if someone cares to. I got the impression that weekend days, especially in the main room, are not particularly on the radar of whoever is the manager during that time. I hope I am wrong. If I am, I plan to come back at the holidays, for an evening event, to experience what drew me to La Bohème in the first place. If I do, I will update this review. My advice, do come during the day and sit outside, it's gorgeous. read more

This was my third pleasurable experience at La Boheme, which means it finally deserves a review. Cuisine: 4/5. It's rare that I enjoy appetizers so much I skip the entrees, so that says something. Hamachi Sashimi, Tuna Tartare, and French Loaf are notable standouts. Delectable flavors and bread that doesn't suck? Say less. Only questionable item I've tried is the unflavored Chicken Tinga, but it's fair to expect a few lackluster items given the focus in this neck of the hood. Beverages: 4/5. Solid. Flavorful, but lacking the edge of a superior cocktail (looking at you Lychee Martini). Toki Pona is the move for those who enjoy bold flavors over "pretty" presentation. Service: 5/5. Attentive. Friendly. Gets the job done. Thank you. Ambiance: 5/5. Quintessential WEHO. Beautiful presentation with just the right mixture of romantic lighting, colorful characters, and bougie sensibilities. Candle lit dinner, beautiful and ambient decorations inside, and an overall warm and elevated vibe. They also have a happy hour with pretty good value, especially for their drinks which are great. We got the mushroom risotto, lamb pasta, hamachi sashimi, and mussels. All were amazing but I would pass on the risotto as it was rather boring and flavorless. The must have out of them all is the lamb pasta for sure! Make sure to pair it with some lychee martinis because they were great and the best part of the night. Had a dinner date yesterday evening. I was looking forward to the beautiful outdoor patio ambiance, but the rain forced us to dine indoors. The acoustics of the place made it a little hard to have an intimate conversation, but the service and food made up for it. I had a mambo splash, and for dinner we split a tuna tartare, oysters on the half shell, and coconut-red curry mussels. We started with delicious popcorn shrimp & fried calamari. Both excellent. My main course was the Miso Marinated Salmon with seared bok choy, soy ginger glaze, ginger furikake rice. Given it was early, it wasn't very busy inside, but there were many people sitting in the relaxing outside area. We had the chicken tacos, short rib tacos, and a dozen oysters. All were 5 star. The oysters were particularly good because they were prepared with a small piece of grapefruit which paired surprisingly well with the briny oysters. The only thing we didn't care for was the chicken breast which was rather plain.
