The outside is so unassuming but once you walk in the vibe is sexy, funky, and cool. Perfect for date night or a place with close friends. You can sit at the table or bar. We sat at the bar which was perfect. The drinks were phenomenal and the glassware I'm obsessed. We started eith the tuna tartare which was the best I have ever had. I still think about it! The Caesar salad was a little greasy/oily but the flavor was good and the lettuce itself was good. The steak was amazong and so soft. Love how its precut to be able to share easily. The short rib pasta was really good as well. I like that style of noodle and the flavor was good. I will definitely be back! This place is incredible but make sure to have a reservation as this place books up fast!! Its worth it!

This is a great spot for a dark, cozy, romantic, classic Beverly Hills, Italian -feeling experience. The staff all wear classic attire and they're generally pretty attentive although I've had a couple times where I was left hanging towards the end of the meal... Fair to say the place was always crowded when I went. The food is extremely high priced however, I suppose that's to be expected considering the location and the experience they're trying to provide. Everything I've eaten has been fantastic, except the potato croquettes which were underwhelming. The bread service is incredible, the paccheri pasta with prosciutto Cotto is absolutely phenomenal And the martinis are fun and pretty too. Caesar is tableside which some people get a kick out of but for me it's still just Caesar salad. Do ask for the giant black peppercorn because that is pretty fun to experience. I love that it feels like 9 PM even if it's 5 o'clock because there are no windows and it's always just a dark, classic, perfectly lit ambience. Oh, and can we talk about the decor. The entrance with the door handle gets me every time and the art in the bathrooms is stunning as well. I do recommend this place and if you're willing to spend $100, definitely get the veal Parmesan.

After viewing some of the recent 1 & 2 star reviews I was about to cancel but since it was past the allowed 48 hr window I was grateful that I didn't! Got there at our scheduled time and was seated immediately at our small table for 2 right near the center of the restaurant. It looked like it was a last minute table as it was definitely in the way of the wait staff as the place was hoppin with many tables packed to capacity. We were greeted with glasses of apertif and our order was taken rather quickly and our waitress provided some tastings of the white wines to help make our decision. After we placed our order the manager came over and was generous to move us to a booth as he saw that we were in a tight spot so that was very much appreciated without us asking. For the dining itself: Caesar salad- prepared table side and the salad itself had fresh crunchy leaves and croutons scattered about with an anchovy flavored dressing that was evenly dressed the salad and topped with a generous snow covered parmigiano. Tagliatelle- prepared al dente with plenty of clams in every bite which were nicely covered in a buttery white wine sauce that had a slight citrus profile. Branzino Picatta- Great to see a fish prepared in this style as the crispy skin made for a good texture combo with the lemon forward sauce and balanced well with the scattered capers. During the time between the salad and pasta, unfortunately a ceiling tile fell in the bar area onto a table and luckily no one was hurt but the wait staff resolved the issue before we even received our entree. The food is deserving of 4 stars but the service and staff is 5+ so overall the experience was well worth the price point that other yelpers have made as a discussion topic. All I can say is that I did not have high expectations based on other reviewers but thankful that it was a great experience.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in a long time. Absolutely loved the restaurant vibes and decor. Yummy dirty martinis, the lemon pasta, spicy rigatoni (special), white beans, New York steak and cheesecake all phenomenal. Went for a girls night but will be returning for date night!

A beautiful, intimate restaurant with lovely service. The food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere made it feel like such a charming, cozy spot.

I used to really love this place, but last time i visited i felt their pastas are not as it used to be. I had the lemon pasta and it was extremely oily, in fact the oil taste was the dominant taste over everything else. My friend had spaghetti with meatball and the meat tasted so terrible and again oily. I hope they go back to what they used to be...

I'd been curious about trying La Dolce Vita for a long time, and finally took the opportunity to come here as a celebratory dinner for my husband's birthday in August 2025. I'd made a reservation a few weeks before coming and it was easy to make online with a lot of reservation times available. We ended up parking in a nearby carpark and had a short walk to the restaurant from there. Once we arrived, we were taken to our table immediately. One of the reasons I was interested in coming to La Dolce Vita is the restaurant's old-world charm. The restaurant is known for its patronage by Frank Sinatra, who even funded the restaurant. The ambiance here is beautiful and classic. It truly feels like an old Hollywood place inside. We were greeted by a hostess when we walked in and seated immediately at a booth. We got several dishes to share between us, including the Caesar salad, stuffed artichoke, vodka pasta, and branzino. Nothing was bad, but nothing was amazing either. Service was efficient and friendly. We also got the spumoni for dessert, which was pretty, but again, nothing to write home about. This was a fun experience to have once, but I don't think it's a restaurant we'll come to again.

    House special

While visiting Los Angeles this weekend, my girlfriend and I were looking for a great Italian restaurant and came across La Dolce Vita on a list of the best Italian restaurants in LA. We decided to give it a try -- and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality stood out. Chris, the GM, personally greeted every guest who walked through the door, including us. He was incredibly warm and welcoming and had such a great spirit that it immediately set the tone for the evening. We ordered the house pasta special with vodka sauce (I wish I could remember the exact name because it deserves the recognition), and it was outstanding. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the vodka sauce was rich and flavorful, with a really nice kick of spice from the chili peppers that brought the whole dish to life. We also started with the Caesar salad, which was excellent -- simple, classic and executed perfectly. The service throughout the evening was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was chic and lively while still feeling comfortable. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of the food and experience. We enjoyed it so much that we made reservations and came back the very next night -- and we ordered the exact same pasta again.

I was going to give 2 stars but then remembered that we had amazing service so I bumped it up to a 3. This was a mixed experience. We tried the garden salad: it was fresh but way too salty, and the added olives only made it saltier. The mozzarella appetizer was a highlight really enjoyable. Among the pastas, the vodka pasta stood out; it was more like a spicy arrabbiata and honestly, they should just rename it. The lemon pasta, on the other hand, was not great. There was a chalky aftertaste and not worth ordering. The branzino was cooked to absolute perfection, though. Sides were hit or miss: the beans were great, but the potatoes were bland and actually needed salt of some type of sauce like a good marinara. Also, they threw in some rosemary as a garnish without warning, which was a nuisance to pick out if you don't like it. On the service side, our server BRYAN was AMAZING!! one of the best I've encountered anywhere. He's the reason the experience still felt worthwhile. Personally, I don't think I would come back unless it's for drinks. I would really like to see a change in the menu a little bit because this place genuinely has potential. It's just a lot of misses.

My favorite place in LA for a romantic dinner. The food, the drinks, and the ambiance are truly what make this spot so special. The lemon pasta is an impeccable dish that keeps me coming back! it's a nonnegotiable. While I've dined here often and love the overall experience, the service could use some improvement, particularly at the host stand. A bit more attention to manners and professionalism at the entry would make a big difference. However, once you're seated, the wait staff is usually fantastic. It's just a matter of getting through 'level one,' so to speak! Despite that minor drawback, this restaurant remains a favorite for its incredible food and atmosphere.

Great experience with a family of four, wife & 2 young adult daughters! LOVE the decor! Red booths, dimly lit, relatively small, nods to the 50s & 60s with some leopard print here & there, felt like the ghosts of the rat pack were still here. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive, not overly stuffy, made us feel comfortable. Food exceeded our expectations! Served up shots of a caramel flavored liquor upon seating (don't remember name); bread was warm & appetizing, sourdough w/focaccia (I think); ordered table side caesar salad. Server enjoyed it & we enjoyed his table side performance. Tasted great. Enough for a small plate for each of the four of us. For the main courses each shined in their own way: bucatini al limoni had the best pasta, al dente to perfection with a light sauce; off menu rigatoni with a spicy sauce, the sauce was to die for, just the right amount of sauce & spice; the lasagna uniquely served on its side spiraled around with a charred top, not sure if there's supposed to be a char on top or not, I think it took away a little from it, but the meat & sauce was amazing; had a monster cheescake, generous slice, thick & creamy, a little too charred on top but none the less a good finish! Drinks were solid! I had all three varieties of martinis except the vintage $75 one & a negroni. All were solid with a good amount of alcohol & good varieties on the standards, of the martinis I had I liked the 50/50 the best. Overall enjoyable dinner with family, great service, good food, would return in a heartbeat! Extra credit for awesome old school matchbooks!

Really enjoyed this place! The food tasted very homemade which I loved. I want to come back for the pasta. The meatballs were so tender they melted in my mouth. Unfortunately we didn't get to try some appetizers as they were out of the stuff we wanted but it's okay we will be back! The dessert was really good. The drinks were just okay will probably just get a glass of wine next time. Service was great and ambience reminded me of New York. Overall loved!

Came here for my bday dinner and was thoroughly impressed. The food is delicious. The Caesar for two was perfect. The tuna tartare was tasty and the shrimp fra diavola was a highlight. The lemon bucatini was my favorite though. It's rich and creamy but still bright because of the lemon. The Branzino was standard and good enough but would probably skip next time. Cocktails were great too and definitely pack a punch. The service left a little to be desired. Even though we had reservations we had to wait 20 minutes before being seated. The hostess was a little condescending about it but I'm sure she deals with a lot lol. All in all though I highly recommend it for a special occasion or just a romantic moody date night.

As for the food, my boss ordered appetizers for the table, which were shrimp tacos, flautas, and empanadas which were all very good! My favorite were the flautas with guac. Now, the place is super small with weird seating. I like the dark vibe it has going though. The most frustrating part of it all? Servers came off super pretentious and would intentionally walk by your table without looking to avoid you asking them anything. Moreover, the place doesn't let you make many changes to your order. For example, if you ask for easy rice on the sushi, they will say no. If you ask for them to put the avocado on the side due to an allergy of one member of the group, they will say no. Our items came out SUPER slow, and this was after waiting a while for a table. The sushi is subpar - heavy on the rice and not enough fish. However, the coconut shrimp roll was good. That all being said, I'd go back and deal with it all again for the chicken sandwich and the burger. Both were a bit heavy on the bread in comparison to the protein, but delicious nonetheless.

On multiple occasions, Elton has given me poor service and a noticeable attitude. I chose to overlook it at first, but eventually I brought it to management's attention because the treatment was consistent and unacceptable. After that complaint, the situation escalated. When I returned, Elton refused to serve me altogether. He would not look at me, acknowledge me, or take my order. I was left sitting there while being completely ignored. It became so obvious that other guests sitting next to me noticed and were concerned enough to step in and ask him why I wasn't being helped and to tell him to serve me. That should never have to happen. I then asked for the manager I had previously spoken to, Leo, because I wanted to understand what was going on. I still have not received any clear explanation. What's most concerning is that this behavior feels intentional. No employee in hospitality gets to decide who they will or will not serve based on personal feelings. If a staff member's feelings are "hurt" after a complaint, that does not justify refusing service to a guest. That is not professionalism--that is the opposite of hospitality. It was honestly disturbing enough that the people next to me told me directly that it didn't feel right and that I shouldn't come back because it seemed like I wasn't wanted there. That is not okay, especially at an establishment of this caliber. I am actively trying to get in touch with someone at the hotel who can properly address this situation, because this needs to be taken seriously. No guest should ever feel ignored, singled out, or unwelcome in this way.

This is a caviar tasting in the best way -- all nine courses are topped with generous helpings of delicious N25 caviar. You get sweet, salty, savory, comfort food, upscale dining, everything comes together in the absolute best way. I especially loved the deconstructed deviled egg and the lobster roll, and the ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. The chips and dip came with the cutest miniature potato chips (although I'll admit I could have used a few more), and the caviar salmon burger was super flavorful. And, true to their word, they surprised my mom with a birthday cake -- and then surprised us both with complimentary lychee cocktails! The service was impeccable as well. Each person on the waitstaff was kind, helpful, and accommodating. We loved how descriptive they were of each dish. It was also really nice of them to decide to give us an extra 2-top so we would have room for all of the courses. This is not only an incredible tasting menu, but made even more incredible by the price. 10 courses and a glass of champagne are $85. I was honestly shocked at how much we received for under $100. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. This is a true gem in Beverly Hills. I'm already planning my next visit!

We were greeted by a server who brought water, and once we were settled, I tried to politely get someone's attention. Instead, I got an eye roll, followed by him pretending not to see me and walking away. Someone else at our table then raised their hand, same response: another eye roll. He eventually came over, but the attitude was... unnecessary. All we wanted was to order a single drink for the birthday girl. Mind you, the rush was over. I believe he may have been a busser rather than server. The time it took to roll his eyes.. twice.. he could have easily grabbed our server instead. Not sure why he wouldn't support his team.. The lack of basic courtesy stood out more than it should have.

There are a lot of pretentious cocktail bars these days with "technique" and interesting ingredients, but falls short in flavor and execution. Dante is not one of those bars. It's the opposite. Seemingly simple and fresh drinks ended up being cocktails that were all mind blowing. 10/10 would recommend to impress friends who like cocktails

The Host welcomed us graciously, wished us a Happy Anniversary, and seated us immediately at a cozy table in the corner of the busy dining room. The serving team quickly approached, filling our water glasses and again welcoming us with big smiles. We'd had some cocktails before arriving, so my wife decided to stick with a Diet Coke for dinner, but I ordered a martini that was perfectly poured, icy cold, and topped with very fresh, blue cheese olives--a great start. Interestingly, Matu does not offer a filet mignon à la carte. The only way to order a filet (my wife's favorite cut) is to order the Filet Dinner, which is a 4-course tasting menu. Perhaps they just can't get enough filet at the quality they insist on -- I don't know -- but we decided to order the Filet Dinner and share the intermediary courses, with me ordering a small Ribeye and Creamed Spinach as my entree. The meal begins with a small cup of 24-hour Bone Broth that arrives steaming hot and packed with beefy flavor. The rich broth actually coats your tongue a bit, and the flavor lingers nicely. Next would have been Steak Tartare, but my wife substituted the Japanese Caesar, which was exceptionally tasty, with flavors in the dressing I simply couldn't place, but would happily eat for days. The last of the appetizers was a duo of Beef Croquettas -- also rich and flavorful with a savory sauce that amped up the richness even further. I don't know if I could eat an entire order (the full appetizer comes with 4 croquettas). Finally, on to the steak. My wife's Filet was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a deep flavor. My own Ribeye was equally tender, with a rich flavor from the marbling. Both steaks were served the house way, which is warm and red in the middle, with a lovely crust from live fire. These folks know how to make a steak, that's for sure. Creamed spinach was much the same as most places... still, very satisfying and a great accompaniment. For dessert, we ordered the Strawberry Panna Cotta, which was served with a celebratory candle for our anniversary. Mildly sweet with a slight tang from the berries, this was a light and refreshing way to cap the meal. I have to say, this was an excellent dinner with fine service in a wonderful atmosphere. Additionally, the prices are quite reasonable for the location and the quality of the food, and our dinner here was $200 LESS than our Valentine's dinner at Cipriani, so I have to say this would be your much better bet for a celebratory night out. Though my wife insists we come back soon for lunch so she can get that amazing cheesesteak... and I'm totally willing to join her LOL!

The food wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't worth the price, and the plating was poorly done. Nothing really surprised me except the automatic 18% gratuity.

The ambiance is beautiful, and the service FANTASTIC. Our server was an absolute gem, I am so sad I forgot it. The Roofop is the kind of spot that feels lively but still relaxed enough to enjoy a long dinner with friends. The food was good, though I've definitely had better for the price. Nothing was bad at all, just not quite as memorable as I expected. The drinks, however, were fantastic. I'm not much of a drinker, but I ordered a martini and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly made. Also, the coffee I happened to order a latte and no joke one of the top coffees I had. Lots of nice photo spots. I would love to come during the day and try their brunch. Between the vibe, the attentive service, and the great cocktails, we had a really fun night. I'd come back again, especially for drinks and the atmosphere.
