Ending my birthday month with a beautiful dinner date at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills. This charming Tuscan cottage has a cozy, intimate garden for dining. We had a evening reservation for 5:15 and arrived about 15 minutes early. Although the restaurant opens at 5pm, they asked us to wait until our reservation time. This was a little unusual, but it was fine. We kicked off our dinner with their complimentary focaccia bread and an order of Antipasto Il Cielo. The focaccia bread was warm, soft and airy. Dipping it in the olive oil and balsamic vinegar was pure bliss. Equally as delightful was the Antipasto Il Cielo. This was a beautiful platter of assorted aged Italian meats, grilled vegetables, pesto and olive crostini and a large buffalo mozzarella. I enjoyed the grilled vegetables and the crostini the most. For our mains, I chose to get the special of the night, the Spaghetti Bolognese. He chose to get the Salmone. My Spaghetti Bolognese featured silky al dente strands of pasta topped with ground beef. The sauce was rich and savory. I enjoyed this dish very much. Last but not least was dessert. We chose to get the Panna Cotta. This beautiful dessert consisted of a piedmont vanilla bean pudding with fresh berries and sugared rose petals. It was the most delightful dessert. The Panna cotta was so smooth and creamy, it seemed to melt away with each bite. What really elevated this dessert was the sugar rose petals. The fragrant and delicate rose petals paired wonderfully with the panna cotta's creaminess. Classic and contemporary, this sweet treat made for a perfect ending to our dinner. It was wonderful to celebrate my birthday and dine at Il Cielo. From the beautifully presented dishes to the indulgent rose petal dessert, every detail felt curated for a beautiful celebration. I am blessed and grateful and this truly made for an unforgettable night.
Another wonderful visit to Il Cielo. I spoke to the Hostess, Hunter who indicated that she was able to accommodate a seating request. This restaurant has always been very customer-centric. Our server was, once again, Mr. Nino. He is the consummate professional. Service was excellent! As always the food was delicious. We had the Lamb Chops & the Chilean Sea Bass. All this is why, Il Cielo is one of our favorites.
I was invited to a dinner event with the Minor Hotel group. They had an open bar with the usual popular mixes available. The two bartenders were nice and quick with filling in the requests. The layout of the big room was comfortable with a nice ambiance. I was hungry when I arrived and the waiters kept bringing out hors d'oeuvres which were all very tasty especially the salmon toast. They did not slow down on the snacks and I was so full when the event ended.
I first came here back in 2013 for a wedding anniversary and they made it very special. I recently came back and everything looks the same, service was great, and the food and ambiance was too.
We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. It was a Wednesday and we found street parking right away. We were seated outside and the ambiance was very charming. We requested a table far from everyone because the tables were very close to each other that you can literally hear people's conversations. We appreciated that we were moved right away. Husband ordered the branzino and I ordered the chicken. Both were really good and enjoyed everything. The dessert came with a cute anniversary greeting. Service was excellent and we had a great anniversary celebration.
Very romantic restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Asked for a table on the patio and we were in the perfect little corner with a view of the greenery and string lights. Called to add on the $85 romantic package and our table was decorated with rose petals and candles before we were seated, and we were quickly served champagne. Beautiful and seamless! We got the calamari which was good. Ordered the lobster pasta (I got white sauce and my husband got red sauce). The pasta itself was delicious, but about half of the lobster pieces were overcooked. Portions were on the smaller side. Overall very romantic and would go back, but might try a different dish.
Food, service, drinks and environment was amazing Truffle lobster pasta was Devine! Best meal ive had in a while. Its not over crowded. Chill customers, able to dress up or down..ill be back soon.
This is a nice place for a larger party who wants "banquet style" service. The place itself is lovely. The courtyard is very Mediterranean. The servers work hard and are pleasant. Because of this being banquet style, the food was ok, not remotely great. The appetizers were ok. Done of them fell apart when you touched them. The focaccia first course was dry. The salad was under seasoned and under dressed. There was no salt or pepper at the table. The pasta course was fine. It lacked flavor. The entree was either salmon or chicken. The salmon was prepared well and was the best thing I tasted. The sides with the salmon were bland. The chicken had a nice butternut squash side that was lovely. All in all, it's a nice place to have a reception/meal. The food is ok. The service and space are great. $20 valet parking kinda stinks. But it's Beverly Hills. What are you going to do?
Definitely is a place to come back as often as possible... Maximo takes so good care of you that you feel like family. I went back with my beloved sister Katalina and enjoyed it all... after my usual Martini, I had the brócoli and potato soup and as my main, pollo arrosto my sister had the pasta with sea food and a couple of red wine glasses, at the end Maximo offered us a ricotta cheese delicious dessert. They kept their personalized service even they were totally packed... the venue is like being in an Italian patio under the stars... love it, you'll love it too...
The food there is very authentic and delicious and we ordered three appetizers and three main courses to share The service is good. Our servers check us very often and change clean plates after we had some seafood shells on the plates the ambiance is very romantic when it is getting dark
We visited Il Cielo to celebrate my husband's birthday. The vibe of the restaurant is beautiful, and the live music added a really nice touch to the evening. I love Italian food and dine at a lot of Italian restaurants, so I was excited -- but the food was just okay. The staff was attentive, but the service felt a bit rushed, almost like we were being hurried to finish up. Overall, it was an okay experience. I'm not sure if I would return.
I reserved this location for my mother's birthday. This place is know for its whimsical decorated courtyard and it didn't disappoint. The service was also really good. However, the servers were not entirely friendly and seemed to just be there. The food was the most disappointing part because at an establishment like this, you would expect the food to be memorable. It definitely fell flat. This is a cute spot for a nice date night or a place to celebrate, but with the many other options nearby with much better food, I would think twice on coming back.
We were there for a bridal shower/lunch. The appetizers were okay, but the pasta was delicious and satisfying. Almost everyone ordered the salmon, and they cleaned their plates! Even the salad was delicious! The staff here is charming and attentive. The decor and the ambiance is lovely - outside and in. There was a beautiful cake that said congratulations. My mom loved it. They do not have an ADA/accessible bathroom. Even the hallway was narrow, so don't bring your older aunties - especially if they have trouble with uneven ground and steps. I loved the staff and the pasta, but I can't recommend it for people with trouble walking.
We came here for Mother's Day and had such a nice time! As usual, my husband and I were the first ones there and since my in-laws were running late, we ended up hanging out at the bar for a drink while we waited. Honestly, it worked out perfectly because they had AC and it was HOT in Beverly Hills that day lol. The inside of the restaurant was actually really beautiful too! I loved the decor and the vibe felt way nicer indoors. Looking back, we probably should've just asked to sit inside instead of outside because of the heat The food was oh so so so very good! Everyone in our group enjoyed everything we ordered, from the appetizers all the way to dessert. HIGHLIGHT of our lunch: my husband and I surprised my mother-in-law with a bouquet of pink roses, so we asked the hostess if they could keep it in their cooler room until the end of lunch. After dessert, they brought the flowers out for us and my mother-in-law was so surprised and happy It honestly made the whole celebration feel extra special. Thank you to the staff for helping create such a sweet and memorable Mother's Day moment for our family! read more
Came to try them out for Dine LA dinner ($65/pp) and good thing we did because the execution of the food doesn't match the original price point. If it's not during Dine LA, I would likely not come back. Little did we know there was a very obvious explanation for not being full for a Sunday dinner despite the gorgeous patio being perfect for romantic dates. Overall 4 stars: 5 stars for ambiance 4 stars for service 3 stars for food Got the: 1. Toscana (7/10): - This salad was wilted by the time it got to us and not crispy anymore, so we suspect it's been sitting out for a while. - Would've been a 9/10 If it was served fresh 2. Pappardelle Al Tartufo Bianco (+$20 to add lobster pieces) 7/10: - the pasta (9/10) was good, and the doneness was perfect for fresh pasta. - Unfortunately the lobster (4/10) left a lot to be desired. The lobster meat was severely overcooked to the point of being almost rubbery and there were several small shells in the pasta dish. - The waiter must've noticed the pile of shells I made because he whisked away the plate the second I finished so I wasn't able to take a picture. 3. Filet di Manzo (5/10): - the filet was over cooked, which is starting to seem like an overarching theme. We ordered medium RARE and received medium WELL. - This would ordinarily be sent back to the kitchen in any reputable steakhouse, but we gave them a break for not being a steakhouse - the sauce was on the bitter side and this dish was paired with broccoli rabe instead of the advertised spinach so the dish was not balanced at all, just overwhelmingly bitter. Unfortunately this was the worst dish of the night. 4. Il Branzino (7.5/10): - the Branzino fish was not dry but also not moist. I'd say it's pretty typical for Italian cooking, just not flavorful either. It needs a tasty sauce to really add some depth - instead of the advertised zucchini, it came with spinach - It was soft enough for the palate of my grandparents 5. Panna Cotta (9.5/10): - wow, I can't believe the best dishes of the night were the desserts! - Panna cotta was very well balanced with the fruits. Without the fruits and fruit syrup topping, the vanilla bean panna cotta would've be too rich - did not come with the advertised candied rose petals, but this dessert was so well executed that it didn't matter 6. Tiramisu (9/10): - light and fluffy, it was executed well with chocolate shavings on top - a little bitter from the coffee (they advertise that the lady fingers were "lightly dipped in espresso" which my taste buds find hard to believe) but they did have a berry compote on the side to balance it out. - Personally I wish it was not served with berry compote as I believe the advertised mascarpone may been a better pairing Parking: valet only but there's street parking down the street and all around if you're willing to walk up to a block read more
we had a romantic anniversary dinner at il cielo :) the outdoor seating is dreamy and elegant, and it didn't feel loud or crowded which was nice. i ordered the litchee cocktail, which was equal parts sweet and strong, it was perfect! and the meal started with a yummy slice of focaccia bread. there were no vegetarian options for appetizers which was a bit disappointing. i ordered the tortelli di burrata and it was phenomenal. the tri-color sauce presentation was stunning, and it tasted as good as it looked! the cheese and pesto were rich, and the pasta had a good bite to it. we ended our meal with a chocolate souffle and tiramisu. both were very good, and we even got a little happy anniversary message to top it off! overall, a great place to celebrate a special occasion! read more

Went here for my anniversary. Valet is $20, so recommend street parking instead. Super pretty interior, cozy, and full of lights. However, the food was just mid for its price. We got complimentary onion bread, which was pretty good (7.5/10). We ordered il manzo for appetizer, which was just okay (7/10). We got the Tortelli, which was about 7-8 pieces of tortelli (7.5/10). The pappardelle tasted better, but again small portions as well (8/10). Bill came out around $130-140 with tax. Overall, super pricy for mid food. read more

I have been wanting to try Il Cielo for ages. I finally came last Tuesday for dinner. My experience was great . We were seated at the patio which is gorgeous and cozy now I know why the patio is so popular. My sea bass was delicious so the fried calamari . Our waiter was super ! It was so easy to find a parking spot just in front of the restaurant. I totally recommend to come on a week day. read more

If you're looking for a quiet, cozy spot near Beverly Hills to catch up with close friends or spend time with family, El Cielo is such a hidden gem. It's the kind of place that would be perfect for something like a mom's birthday dinner or an intimate celebration. * The food never disappoints--classic Italian dishes made with care, and always consistent in quality. * The staff is warm and professional, with experienced servers who really know how to make guests feel welcome. * After sunset, the whole place has this inviting, homey vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. Definitely worth keeping in mind for your next special night out. Cheers read more
Overall mid experience. The service was great the restaurant was cute. The waiter offered wine options that fit my specific tastes (very well!!) the food was fine. Nothing to write home about. Would definitely say overpriced. I wanted more flavor/spice something! But maybe we didn't order the right thing... Cute for a date night but there are other good options close. read more

This restaurant is definitely a romantic scene, the ambiance for a Friday night was very intimate and also a hint of casual. The menu offers mocktails which are a nice gesture for those who don't drink. Our server Massimo was very kind and attentive. Patio was well lit for an early anniversary dinner and the staff was so helpful. My water was never empty, we were offered free table bread and our dinner felt course out very smoothly. I feel anyone can come and enjoy what Il Cielo had to offer wether it be a casual dinner or and intimate date night. My partner and I enjoyed the Truffle pasta ($85) feature they offered as well as the salmon ($44) they had on the menu. Everything was perfect and we ordered a tiramisu for desert that was beautifully plated and had a handwritten happy anniversary note which was so very kind. read more

Definitely over hyped and overpriced. My husband wanted a romantic evening for Valentine's Day but with the prefixed menu I was not impressed. It was also a complete disappointment that not even a glass of wine or champagne was included with our meal. But, I wish I got the name of our server he was really nice and the bussers had incredible service. The hostess were rude and when I asked if they found my glasses anywhere they gave me a snooty respond (literally lost them that night). The vibes were romantic but will not be back. And don't recommend. read more
