Absolutely stunning venue with food to match. The restaurant was full, but the waitstaff were completely relaxed. No pressure to "turn tables" and rush people through. One has the feeling of dining in a lovely garden with all the time in the world. To start, we were presented with complimentary scones, light, perfect texture. still warm, along with cream and jam. These could have been served at a high tea in England. Delish. The grilled vegetable salad was incredible. Each component was cooked perfectly and harmonized beautifully. I had the salmon and crème fraiche tart. Perfect balance of flavors. My companion had a piece of grilled salmon - best we've had in ages. The Ivy recognized my birthday and brought out a piece of red velvet cake and vanilla ice cream. This isn't typically my favorite cake, but it was well executed. The Ivy is one of Los Angeles most iconic restaurants. I come here every so often and this time I went right after hiking Runyon. I feel like the restaurant needs a revamp. I remember pre covid they gave a complimentary glass of champagne. I feel like this time there was no vibe but there is always people watching here. My breakfast burrito for the price was whatever. The food is extremely overpriced and the service was so so. It's an iconic la restaurant known to be expensive and many celebrities used to frequent. I usually get the fish and chips or pizza. This time I got the breakfast burrito and corn ravioli and it was a mistake. I felt like it was nothing special and we just paying for the fact it's a iconic restaurant and its location. I love the Ivy! Everything about the Ivy reminds me of home. It's almost as if your grandma is in a Jane Austin book and you're going to visit her. It's beautiful. They always have fresh flowers, so you feel like you're dining on the back porch in the garden. Regarding the menu, there's something for everyone and everything is delicious. There is nothing on the menu that is not wonderful. If this will be your first time going to the Ivy, don't be intimidated. The wait staff is always down to earth and friendly. This is one of my partner's bucket list restaurants and we finally got to check it out in February 2026. It's exactly as we expected, with a mix of tourists and Beverly Hills area folks. Pretty floral/garden themed decor with some "rustic" furniture here and there make it seem less pretentious although the pricing and service definitely are in the "upscale" tier. The food was OK for me. My partner ordered the carne asada and I ordered chicken. Neither dish made us think we need to come back for more. The service was wonderful. The cocktails were on the weak side for the price, but I understand where we are here. We may go back on our next trip to LA but there are so many other great choices. Very cute, quaint, historic setting. I would recommend sitting outside if possible. We almost got sat at this table in the corner inside where one of people can't even see anything aside from an Eiffel Tower statue. Luckily we were able to ask if we could wait 15 more minutes from an outside table. The iced coffee was great, the Cesar salad appetizer was also very good and fresh, the lobster pasta was also pretty good with fresh lobster, and the lobster benefits were also good with the potatoes. The included scones are also amazing. For those who frequent the restroom, it was very nice even with poperie, but there are only 2 bathrooms and always a line. You've seen it in dozens of movies, so the Ivy is a must-try for every Angeleno, at least once. My first time there was to commemorate an occasion, and it was the perfect place for a special outing. The place is visually interesting and unique - multicoloured roses on every table, primary-hued vintage-bulb Christmas lights, charmingly printed pottery dishes, and farmhouse décor. Service is impeccable, efficient and aware of the possibility of high-profile clientele. It's an odd mix of upscale and homespun. The cocktails were incredible - fresh-tasting and delicious. We tried the LA G&T and the mango pineapple margarita. We also enjoyed a strong espresso martini with dessert. With dinner, you'll receive a complimentary small, dense bread round with butter. The rib plate was nice, juicy meat with a flavourful sauce, slaw, crispy french fries. The lobster ravioli in pink sauce was divine. For afters, we split the aforementioned martini and a piece of key lime pie, appropriately tangy with homemade whipped cream. Nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills is a charming restaurant with a white country picket fence and roses everywhere. It is almost as though you're stepping into a fairytale fantasy land. Every detail from the valet to the steps that take you into this fine dining experience is captivating and breathtaking. Lived in LA for a while. Not long enough to say I'm a native but long enough that I should have visited a lot of iconic restaurants like this one - The Ivy. Well, I finally did and I have to say, I had a good time. I was worried about the parking but found a parking garage. It's located less than one block south of the restaurant. I don't remember how much but it was clean, manned (booth attendant) and was less than 150 yards from the restaurant. Didn't have to do laps looking for street parking (metered) or hand my ride over to Valet. Service was great. Hostess was friendly and nice - nice enough to seat me about 20 minutes early for my reservation. No bar - I was given a choice of where to sit and I went with her recommendation to sit outdoors. The server was great as well. Took care of business, answering questions, and making sure my friend and I were well taken care of. I had steak. What else would i have? And I love it when it's prepared like I ask - and if you know me, it's gonna be rare! See pics. This is a review from a recent dineLA experience. I'm surprised I never reviewed The Ivy; I came here years ago and although I thought it was good enough, I obviously never returned. Seeing they were participating in restaurant week for the summer, I figured this would be a decent time to revisit. As I settled in, I notice two forks; one had a distinctive red hair tangled in its tines. I'm not a redhead. I let one of the many busboys around know, and he simply looked at it, pulled the hair away, while leaving the fork, not saying a word. I might have laughed at how absurd this was, from The Ivy of all places. Needless to say when he went to clear the other place setting from the table, I grabbed one of those forks, having him take away the one that had hair in it that with common sense you think he should have had removed, but didn't. Took about 4 minutes to receive a menu (none were for dineLA) so I let the actual waiter know when he came by to introduce himself. A raisin scone with butter and jam arrives before the first course, so it appears as though this was forgotten. When the chips and guacamole arrived less than a couple minutes later, this presentation was a joke. You could count how many chips there were on this large plate. What was odd is that the guacamole portion was actually fairly decent, which ended up being wasted. However the entree for the chicken had two pieces of meat (when I expected one) but the mashed potatoes and corn could have been slightly more generous. The mango sauce for the entree was okay, but not really needed since the food was so flavorful. Thank goodness the three cookies can't be messed with, although I forgot to ask if they had the ones without nuts, but I'll still eat them. Their lunch cost is $65, where a lot of lunch deals cap out at $35 or so but this is The Ivy, so consider this a splurge. In some ways, it is worth it if it's your debut visit here since they offer a lot of their popular items, including the grilled vegetable salad. Seeing this was their first time doing this promotion, I'm grateful they participated, but they could use some work. Suggestions if they want to do dineLA in the future: I understand portions can be smaller for this as I've eaten at many other places over the years for this, but they need to get it right where its actually balanced. More chips for the guacamole, and maybe measure the sides better for the entree. Food WAS decent; even the 10 chips or so I had were fresh and crisp. Service started off pretty poor as I mentioned, but a couple of the guys were fine, including the waiter and a guy with dark-rimmed glasses who was working a couple other tables in the dining room. The Ivy is most likely not a place for me, especially since I stick out as I prefer sitting inside over out since I'm not an outdoors kind of person. Always a favorite. Been here many years ago and remember their infamous crab cake. Was strolling by after an afternoon shopping spree and couldn't resist sitting down for a bit to enjoy a bite to eat. So we had a second brunch hahahah 1. Smoked salmon and crème fraiche. Perfectly smoked rich salmon on top of crème fraiche on thin crust. Superb! Must try 2. Peaches and burrata: Fantastic! Fresh, sweet, and juicy peaches mixed with arugula and cherry tomatoes, and crowned with a big burrata on top and drizzled with balsamic and olive oil. Sooooo phenomenal. My new favorite guess 3. The Ivy still maintains its high standards and beautiful setting after 40 years! The service is fantastic as the staff cater to patrons. The interior is a bit crowded and difficult to maneuver so sitting outside, under the tree feels much more liberating and great to people watch while enjoying a delicious meal. The food is the obvious highlight with a good variety to choose from. The pastas are absolutely delicious, and the seafood fare is fantastically fresh. The diners seated on either side of you are very close, heads up. I got the lobster pasta, which was tender and the pasta was fresh. A pinch of salt helped it along for sure. My husband took me to The Ivy for my birthday last month, as I had been talking about trying it for many years. It was a lovely surprise in many ways, and overall might be a spot I'd return to - but the atmosphere is definitely what you're paying for here. First off, the food was... good. Really good. But not spectacular. I had imagined our meal would be epic, given the years this little spot has been in business and the many, many films it has been featured in. But everything we had was just very good. It was the service that truly blew me away. The staff is FIVE STAR. So attentive, so polished and professional. And no rushing you through a meal - they took their time between courses and allowed us plenty of space to enjoy our conversation. Very impressed with the waitstaff there. I regret not trying their signature lobster dishes - I just wasn't in the mood for pasta that night. If we make it back again, I would definitely try the dishes the staff recommended, as I imagine they would have been the five star meal everyone raves about here. read more

Having lived in Los Angeles since 2014, this is my first visit to the famous Ivy restaurant (if you can believe that)! I'm glad I got to finally experience this restaurant after seeing it so many times on TMZ (it's a frequent stop for celebrities, or at least USED to be). Now, I don't know anything about how popular it is compared to how it used to be but that is not really a factor in my review. I care more about the quality of food and service. The food did not disappoint! I had an excellent meal! While the service was a bit slow, I did go on a Sunday night and there wasn't too many patrons there so perhaps that had something to do with it. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant was way different than I imagined though! It's small, quaint and VERY flowery! Lots of flowers/roses all over the place. It's not a bad thing. The Ivy is located in West Hollywood. Recommend reservations especially on the weekends. Aesthetically this place is very cute with beautiful floral decorations throughout. Seating is limited on the patio and all the tables are very close together so not the most intimate place to have personal conversations. Otherwise, service was on point from the moment we walked in. We were enthusiastically greeted at the hostess stand and I made note it was my friends birthday and the hostess immediately said happy birthday upon check in which was very thoughtful and kind. Our server was also very attentive and had great recommendations. The food was delicious. The menu is pretty extensive which was a pleasant surprise. They not only had a brunch menu, but lunch and dinner menu available as well during the weekend. It made the pickings quite difficult but we started with a cobb salad which was flavorful and filling. I decided to go with the ravioli corn ($32) and it did not disappoint. My girlfriend raved about the lobster pasta ($66) and it was huge! The drinks were also on point. I had the most beautiful sangria and it tasted just as good as it looked. It was so perfect for a lunch date with my bestie. Overall, this place has been around for years and still is a hot spot. I know I keep reviewing The Ivy, but it truly is the happiest place on earth. This time my niece was in town and we went to celebrate her visit. It was amazing as always. This is the place to come when you want to feel good. Not only is the service incredible, the menu choices are delicious no matter whether you go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Saturday scones that are brought to your table once you're settled are fantastic, especially with the accoutrements that are offered. My guests chose lobster related dishes, and all of them were thrilled. I decided to try the margarita pizza and took half home even though it was allegedly a portion for one it was Very generous. To start off I had been getting videos from the Ivy on my social media that made it look like a vibrant, girly brunch spot, and I was very excited to go; however, was shortly disappointed. The outdoor area is tiny and crowded with the inside seating being very dark. It definitely is not the bright, vibrant, place I expected- although they did have some pretty flowers around. The food was below mediocre. To charge 30+ dollars for 8 pieces of lettuce should be a crime. We had several dishes all of them were overpriced, under portioned, and tasteless. The pizza, the size of a small plate, was $80 and flavorless. All of us were very severely disappointed by all the meals. The only thing we thought they did well were the complementary scones (which it seems you have to ask for). I would not recommend this place from a flavor, ambiance, or price standpoint. read more

I really enjoyed my lunch at the Ivy. It has a prime location at the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills border. This restaurant is a quintessential LA brunch/lunch spot serving an eclectic array of American and Italian cuisine. It has a long history in LA starting in 1980 and it's well known by celebrities as well. The meal started with fresh baked bread which came out warm and was served with butter. For appetizers we tried the shrimp cocktail and chips & guac. The shrimp were big and fresh and the guac also tasted fresh. Even the chips tasted home made. For the main dish I tried the grilled vegetable salad with zesty lime chicken. It came with lots of veggies including zucchini, corn, tomatoes, lettuce, asparagus, scallion, and avocado. It was all brought together by a lime vinaigrette. It was really filling and fresh. While the food was good in and of itself, what really makes this place stand out is the atmosphere. There's fresh flowers at every table and plants growing all throughout the restaurant. There's great lighting when sitting outside and they also have indoor seating. Our service was good, albeit a bit slow. The prices are a bit high but you do get a good portion size. You're definitely paying extra for the location and atmosphere. Last night was our 2nd time to this adorable restaurant. The first thing that you will notice is all the beautiful lights and roses. Absolutely beautiful. Then I was so impressed by the unbelievable service from the staff, friendly and ready to help you with whatever you need. This time we sat outside. Our server Carlos was great! We started with the calamari, delicious. For my entree I had the fresh wild swordfish, cooked perfectly. My husband had the Wagyu carne Asad, he said it was delectable. Then we shared the raspberry coconut cake, wonderful. Lovely evening. Last time we came for lunch. I think next time we need to come for the famous breakfast. I am sure many of you reading this review are already aware that "The Ivy" is a very well-known upscale restaurant that is frequented by celebrities, lawyers, and people of wealth ever since its opening back in 1983. However, those that met me already know that I go to a restaurant based on food, service, ambiance, and experience while not looking too deeply into if it is a place that is gazed by the paparazzi. Since my lady was celebrating her birthday, we decided to dine here for lunch while trying this place out for the very first time. So take it from yours truly, Donovan H. to see what the fuss is all about. I will say that reservations are highly recommended; especially during weekends and evenings. However, we did not have a reservation and since I specifically told the female manager that there was only a party of 2 (while this was to be a birthday), she said "we'll take you in". I was (in a surprisingly good way) shocked! Even better is that we were able to park directly across the street. The location of this restaurant is directly on N. Robertson Blvd and just south of Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles. They do offer valet parking which is $18 for the the restaurant itself or $30 for public parking. Keep in mind that on any given day, this place does get packed and don't be surprised if you happen to come across any random celebrity sightings. I didn't see anyone that looked familiar but this place has had celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Demi Moore, J. Lo, Tori Spelling, Robert DeNiro, and Dustin Hoffman, just to name a few. Aside from the famous people that have dined here, this restaurant is also well known for this ever-changing eclectic menu, dazzling and colorful interior, and an exterior patio that looks more like a colorful wedding with flowers at every table. Going back to our experience here, we arrived at 1:25pm (during the afternoon of Saturday 10/12/2024) and got seated inside at 1:30pm. Not bad for an exclusive restaurant. Our waiter took good care of us as we started off with iced waters and complimentary blueberry scones complete with berry jam & salted butter. As for our lunch, I went with their "Soft Shell Crab Skillet" w/butter & lemon while she went with their "Pizza Margherita" and a "Catedral Mezcal Watermelon Margarita". Her beverage arrives in a couple minutes while our lunches both arrived only less than 10 minutes later. Props to our waiter who definitely took care of us from start to finish. I will say that my crab skillet was cooked to perfection as was her pizza. Many other Yelpers have mentioned this and I will add to their reviews that the prices here are insanely high. I won't go into too much detail but expect to spend a pretty penny when dining here. Don't get me wrong, the food here is delicious but the portions are a bit small for what you get. Aside from that, "The Ivy" is a restaurant that I do recommend checking out if you're a visitor to the Los Angeles area. But since I live in California, coming here isn't that much of a big deal.
