I have not been here in a couple of years so I decided to take my mom here for her birthday. The food was not the same anymore. Everything was just ok. I got the branzino with spinach. The branzino was kind of hard on too and the spinach flavor was just basic. Not much flavor everything was bland. Order pigs in a blanket for an appetizer and I did not like them they need to be cooked more. Overall, the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was nice. The only thing I don't like is that the booth seating is very small and tight so it's hard to sit even with three people you have no leg room and the table is right on top of your abdomen. Also, I ordered a key lime pie martini that's was soooooo sweet I had to send it back.

The renovated patio was so nice and inviting. Loved all the art and bright natural light - such a different vibe from the front of the restaurant. Service and food were top notch. The GM and Craig come around and greet everyone. Such a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary!

Food and service were outstanding! The manager was incredible. Night recommend the vodka sauce for anything. We all agreed that was the best dish. They were all amazing but that one stood out. It's pricey but worth it!!!

My cousin and I grabbed a last minute reservation for her birthday last night and WOW we had a phenomenal experience. I truly need to highlight our waitress, AMY. From the start to the very end, she made our experience so memorable! She had such a warm, inviting, demeanor that made us feel so comfortable in this space and made our dining experience so enjoyable. My cousin and I ordered the key lime martinis which were absolutely terrific. I ordered the "Only Fans" martini later on which had passionfruit and was so delicious. My cousin ordered a gin martini with a twist which was great as well! For our entrees, we ordered the Caesar salad, chicken parm, and vodka pasta and all entrees truly did not disappoint. The Caesar was classic and tossed well. The chicken parm came with marinara spaghetti, and it was amazing!! The chicken parm was superb and the spaghetti with the marinara tasted so fresh. The vodka pasta was wonderful as well, and the taste was done well! After that, my cousin and I ordered the tinx sundae and it was honestly the best dessert at a restaurant that I've ever experienced. Amy told us later on that it was vegan and was made of cashews! We also ordered chocolate chip cookies which were fantastic, and Amy even brought over bread pudding with a candle which for my cousin's bday, which was so delicious! Thank you to Craig's and huge shoutout to Amy for making our night immensely sensational!!!

Everything we ordered was excellent. The short rib was tender and rich with deep flavor, and cooked perfectly. The caviar bite was small but packed with a clean, briny pop. Oysters were fresh and beautifully presented, and the scallops were seared just right with a delicate, buttery texture. We had a sparkly sundae, to celebrate a birthday which was the perfect sweet ending . Overall, a great dining experience.

Craig was the best! so nice and personable! Made you feel like you were part of the family.

Best night on our California trip!! Great food! Craig was the most personable host I have ever met in a restaurant. This night was definitely worth 5 stars!! Chicken Parmesan was amazing. Shrimp Fra Diavolo, meatballs and Great vegan and vegetarian options. The hot fresh baked cookies and the ice cream sundae were the best!

Took a quick solo trip to LA and knew I wanted to try Craigs. I got there a little earlier than my reservation but I was seated within a few minutes. I was seated in the back area and it was so nice and warm because of all the heat lamps around. It was just as warm as inside if not warmer! I ordered the cesar salad, the bolognese, sparkling water, a cucumber mocktail and the chocolate chip cookies. They also bring you a bread basket. Overall everything tasted good but I wasn't amazed by anything. I think this restaurant is overhyped because celebrities come here once in awhile. My total came out to be $113 without tip. On the pricier side for what I ordered. The ambiance is nice and the service was great 5/5

Craig's is an crazy experience from the moment you arrive. The location is wild. There's almost always paparazzi outside because celebrities are constantly coming through. The food is absolutely delicious, but the bed of the best is the chocolate pizza. Pure heaven

Craig's is one of those classic Old West Hollywood restaurants that you "have to go" to at some point if you're living in LA. It's an Italian restaurant where people go to "see and be seen." They have lots of classic Italian dishes. The restaurant itself gets very crowded later in the evening so might be easier to get a reservation for earlier. I would definitely not recommend getting their pizza. The pizza was soggy, and the toppings significantly lacked in flavor and seasoning. I tried the mushroom truffle and the pepperoni margherita. Both were soggy and did not pass the "flop" test (the undercarriage of the pizza is not crispy enough to hold itself up when folded vertically). I did enjoy their "American chopped" salad, as well as their 12 oz Wagyu steak. I like that the salad had fresh corn and a zingy vinaigrette. The steak was perfectly cooked and came with a savory brown sauce (bordelaise) that you get to pour over top. Service was pretty good, no problems there. The restaurant really delivers that old Hollywood vibe, and it clearly has a long and rich history. You will see all kinds of patrons here because this restaurant has a long reputation. I don't know that I would go back so soon, but I am very glad I finally went!

Definitely a scene, though not necessarily an upscale one. But a crowd-pleaser with out-of-towners; always a hit, and you definitely walk out of with a story or two. I've taken girlfriends from the OC, friends from the UK, etc. Also holds the record of always having some sort of "celeb" sighting there, from A-D. I've seen Real Housewives of BH (Sutton and Kathy Hilton), TikTok 'stars' (Josh Richards, Chris Olsen) and random others (Diane Warren?!) Menu both cocktails and food are no-frills. There's a drink called The Danny Ocean, and pigs on the blanket are on the menu. Don't sleep on the chocolate chip cookies though. Honestly they weren't kidding when they said they are some of the best you'll ever have.

Very cute spot, but the service wasn't the best. I feel like we were waiting for both food and drinks for a while, however our server was really nice. The bread that they give you was pretty good, garlicky but kind of sweet too 6.5/10. Calamari was solid, but missing a sauce 7/10. I ordered the Lobster Diavolo which had great flavor, a decent amount of lobster, and a nice kick to it. For someone that doesn't really like red sauce pastas, it was really good 9/10. My boyfriend got the chicken parmesan, it's a pretty big portion and he really liked it overall. The interior itself was very nice, with moody lighting making it great for a date night or to celebrate a special occasion.

SPECIAL MOMENT when Craig (owner) stopped by our table to see how our table was doing. He was kind enough to take a picture with my daughter, Rayna. He also mentioned that the kids' cups had pictures of his kids when they were younger. As always, the food was great, and the service was amazing from our server Daniel and the team.

Do they have a TV at the bar? Will I be able to see the NBA playoffs?

    Yes

Can you eat at the bar?

    Yes!! :) :)

Do they ask for covid vaccinations? if we don't have it is outdoor seating available?

Outdoor seating is available and I don't believe I had to show proof of vaccination last time I was there 3/26/22 (but they were asking a month or so ago). :) Enjoy!!

Can I bring my child? Do they have high chairs?

Yes saw kids there :) had high chairs!

    Any gluten free options?

I think so! Check to make sure

At least how far in advance do we have to make a reservation?

Pretty far especially for weekends. The front outside is Siberia, and it's not easy getting the back outside patio. That's usually reserved for regulars.

How are they operating during COVID?

Amazing. Masked up servers, security and plenty of outside seating.

Do they have valet parking and if not where do you usually park if not taking a ride share? Thanks!

They have valet and I believe it's $15 or $20. Street parking is limited around there.

    What is the attire?

Casual completely. Most folks dress up but you don't have to and wont feel out of place if you don't.

Do I need to tip the delivery boy? As a foreigner, I'm not very accustomed to paying tips. Say sorry to him if it's necessary to give tips. His service was good.

    Always.

    Dress code for men?

    Anything goes!

Do i need to have a reservation?

It's definitely a good idea to make a reservation, it's get packed! Each time I've been I had to make a reservation at least a week ahead of time.

    What is the dress code?

Casual to dressy. You'll be comfortable either way.

I heard you can eat at the bar without a reservation, is this true?

This is true. I've dined at the bar on several occasions without the need for a reservation

Do you have to call to get a reservation? Yelp states that the restaurant takes resos but I do not see the option on their website or opentable.

This place sucks in that regard. I made a reservation for one day. They messed up and put it down for the wrong day. When they called to confirm and realized their mistake they wouldn't fix it. Terrible customer service.

The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of being in Mexico. A Spanish theme and style. The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

The food was just as memorable. The chicken Parmesan was everything you want it to be: crispy, flavorful, and topped with a rich, perfectly balanced marinara and plenty of melted cheese. We originally…read morewanted to try another restaurant, but it was completely booked, so we looked for somewhere new to explore. Met Him At A Bar seemed like a good option, and one of my girlfriends made a reservation for four. Our reservation was at 7:00 PM. I street-parked and walked to the restaurant, where one of my friends was waiting outside. I asked why she wasn't sitting at our table, and she told me that our table was right by the entrance. She didn't like that spot and thought the tables farther inside looked much more comfortable and cozy. Since people were sitting at one of those tables, she wanted to wait until they left. Personally, I thought the table by the entrance was perfectly fine, but I was also STARVING! Another friend arrived and also disliked the table, so we decided to wait. After a while, I was getting way too hungry, so we sat at the bar and ordered an appetizer and drinks while waiting. I first ordered the Garlic Shrimp and asked if it was spicy. I was told it was, so I asked if they could make it without the spice because I can't eat spicy food. He said he would check with the kitchen, but since I was starving and it sounded like it might take too long, I changed my order to Garlic Bread. One of my girlfriends ordered a glass of wine, and since she had made the reservation and gone through the trouble of arranging everything, I treated her to the wine and garlic bread. Then, of course, our friend who is ALWAYS late arrived about 30 minutes late! By then, the rest of us had already decided what to order from the Dine LA menu. We wanted to try as many dishes as possible, so we ordered different items and shared everything. When our late friend arrived, we ordered his dishes separately. For the first course, we had Caesar Salad, Bruschetta, and Meatballs. For the second course, we ordered Rigatoni Vodka, Cacio e Pepe, and Margherita Pizza. For dessert, everyone ordered Tiramisu. Overall, I thought the food was good. My favorites were the Bruschetta, Meatballs, Rigatoni Vodka, and Tiramisu. The Cacio e Pepe was not my favorite because I thought they used way too much black pepper, and my other friends agreed. Our group had mixed reactions overall. Except for one person, the other two felt the food didn't quite live up to their expectations and were somewhat disappointed. But everyone's taste is different, so I completely understand. Considering how expensive everything has become these days, I thought the Dine LA price was pretty reasonable. It was $45 per person, and with tax and tip, it came to $60 each. For that price, I thought the amount of food and the overall experience were pretty good. I also really appreciated how friendly and attentive all the staff members were. I usually don't drink alcohol, and especially when I'm driving, I NEVER drink--not even a sip. That has been my personal rule for decades. So I just ordered water, and I loved how the staff kept coming by and refilling my glass whenever it got low. I drink a LOT of water, so I really appreciated their attentiveness. Now, about parking: valet parking is $17. I decided to street-park instead. One of my friends also street-parked, but unfortunately she got a parking ticket and was VERY upset. I had originally found a spot where a sign said a parking permit was required, so I decided not to take the risk and moved my car. Before leaving, I asked a man walking his dog if it was okay to park there. He said he had seen many cars parked there and they had been fine, but I still didn't trust it because the sign clearly said permits were required. I told him, "I don't think that's allowed." He was very nice and suggested going about three blocks farther, where there was plenty of street parking without a permit. I followed his advice and parked there. Unfortunately, my friend who stayed in the permit-only spot ended up getting a ticket. Another friend parked in the parking structure across the street and said it cost $18. Since I had parked farther away and didn't want to walk alone at night, I asked him to drop me off at my car after dinner, and he kindly did. So my parking recommendation is to use the $17 valet or street-park about three blocks away where no permit is required. I definitely would NOT recommend parking in the permit-only spaces unless you want to risk getting a ticket. One of the funniest things about this neighborhood is the restaurant names. The restaurant we went to is called "Met Him At A Bar," and literally right across the street is "Met Her At A Bar." There's also another restaurant called "The Night We Met." I have to say, the names are pretty creative and definitely make this neighborhood more fun! Overall, we had a fun evening together, and for $60 per person including tax and tip, I thought it was a pretty decent Dine LA experience.
