What a moody vibe this restaurant gives off when you walk in. Give your eyes a moment to settle cause it is very dark in here, so much so our waitress placed a little reading light on our table. The decor of this place lends itself to classic Hollywood era booths and tables, and gold accents, really stylish for a date night or a night out. The food itself, we found to be very acceptable... we enjoyed everything. From the Calamari, to Rigatoni Bolognese pasta, to the Chicken Palliard, everything was solid. The Rigatoni Bolognese in particular was really good here. Looking forward to coming back to try their other pastas and pizzas.

My girlfriend and I came on a Monday for their Martini Meal Monday ($30 for the meal, $10 martinis), and honestly... such a fun deal. We made a 6:30 PM reservation right when they opened at 6, and although it started off pretty empty, it filled up fast. Our waiter, Luther, was great attentive, quick to fix things, and super on top of service the entire time. For drinks, she ordered the lychee martini and I got the espresso martini. The lychee tasted almost like lemonade (so smooth it made me question if there was alcohol ), but the espresso martini? 10/10, absolutely recommend. Food-wise, it was a mix of hits and misses. The Nice Guy burger was definitely the star of the show so good. There was a small mix-up with my fries (I upgraded to truffle fries but initially got regular), but once I mentioned it, Luther fixed it right away, no issues there. The one dish I wouldn't order again is the rigatoni vodka. It came out pretty undercooked (a bit too al dente), so we sent it back, but even after that it was still on the harder side. The sauce itself had good flavor, but the shrimp were really small, and overall it just didn't hit for me. That said, the overall experience was still really solid. The ambiance is super aesthetic, cozy, and perfect for a cute night out. It does get pretty loud once it fills up, but it's manageable. Service-wise, there's a lot of teamwork runners, refills, everything moving quickly..which I appreciated. Parking is mostly street parking, sometimes you'll find a spot, but be prepared to pay just in case. I also rolled the dice on doubles and ended up getting a free martini meal, which made the whole experience even better. Also forgot to mention there is live entertainment which was a $4 fee. Overall, I'd definitely come back, just with a more selective eye on what I order next time. 10/10 for the deal, drinks, and vibes..food is a bit hit or miss.

One of my favorite restaurants to dine with my friends. I recommend to book a reservation with time as it is a very popular location. The food and the drinks are amazing. The service is the best.

Drinks & food were good, service was fine. Overall middle ground experience- nothing was amazing and nothing was absolutely terrible. While at the bar, my partner asked the bartender to choose any drink from the menu for him, he then proceeded to make him the same drink I ordered. It seemed a bit lazy. We obviously wanted to try different things and he chose to take the easier route which was very off putting. We were sat 45 mins after our reservation time directly behind the host stand at a table that was obviously the worst in the house. We wouldn't complain however we were celebrating an anniversary and are Chase Reserve Members so I just expected a normal table for the occasion. I'd suggest coming here for drinks with friends opposed to a nice date night but overall fine!

I enjoyed Martini Monday at The Nice Guy. $10 Martinis? Sign me up. I love that this is a late happy hour because allot of places end so early for us 9 to 5ers. We enjoyed two rounds of $10 martinis which were so good. I won a Lychee Martini, rigatoni bolognese and Caesar salad. The pasta was on the firmer side. There drinks are not to be missed. The interior was very vibey and aesthetic. Valet was $20 but on a Monday night, parking isn't too bad. The service was fabulous and we enjoyed our time here. The live jazz is a nice touch. I'll absolutely be returning the next time I'm in the mood for happy hour.

First time visiting this restaurant and we had a perfect dinner date! Inside was kinda dark for us so we asked for patio which worked out perfectly. Our server Leah was so nice and her recommendations were awesome! The steak was sooo good. Honestly tasted better than ones I had in NY lol so soft & super filling! The cherry tomatoes were next level. Wish they had this as sides lol we complimented how good the food was chef Nick came out to say thank you! Had such a great time :)

8pm reservations for a birthday. $500 for a table of 4 people, no alcohol. Mediocrity was the goal of the service staff. The dudes in vests and bow ties were on it. But our waiter missed the mark multiple times. Steaks were not cooked to correct requested temps. Table was beyond too dark, asked for a second candle and just before we were done eating we were brought an amber colored light so we could see. Kinda funny. Biggest issue was just how salty our meal was. The eggplant parm had so much salt i could not eat it. Almost burned and was bitter. The same issue with the burger just too salty. Yukon potatoes, no flavor. Kale salad, too tough. Brussels sprouts, nothing special But, Fried mozzarella was very good. Truffle fries, good. Pistachio panacotta and the bread pudding, so great! Overall, every person at the table was disappointed. Not a $500 meal. Thanks One star is for the environment, pretty people. One for the desserts and fried mozzarella. They even knew we were celebrating a birthday but didn't put a candle on a dessert. Hah

I personally don't see the hype. The chicken parm was soggy, soggy breaded chicken under a blanket of cheese. The spaghetti was decent. The cheesy garlic bread came out cold. The rigatoni was the best item we got honestly, if I ever did return I would only get that. Our server was OK. We were seated in the outside patio in the back of the restaurant so couldn't say much about the ambiance.

The Nice Guy was such a great experience. The aesthetic is awesome and the whole place has a really cool vibe. The garlic bread was delicious, and the pasta was amazing too. Everything felt like the perfect mix of great food and atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

I went once this past weekend for Martini Monday and have been recommending it to everyone I know already lol. This is a top place for a girls' night / girl dinner lol, or in my case my man actually brought me here and it felt like such an intimate and romantic date night. They have a special menu on Mondays featuring their famous martinis, and they had 5 to choose from. I ordered the lychee martini with my meal and decided to order an espresso martini with tequila as my dessert lol. Their menu for dinner is literally perfection; it comes with an entrée, appetizer, and martini for $30! Which is insane because living in LA you realize that drinks often go up to pretty much that price - for just the cocktail. There are three different options you can pick from, and I picked the one that includes a Caesar salad (so flavorful but not heavy - honestly I loved it), a caviar bump, and a side of garlic fries. It was called "girl dinner" and was literally that--everything I could ever crave for dinner. My boyfriend got the entrée that came with a delicious savory burger and fries like mine, and also paired it with a lychee martini. We were so content with the food, and to top it off the ambiance gave Frank Sinatra fall vibes. There was a live performer that played jazz and classic music, the lighting is moody and the seating is very comfortable. I'm 100% coming back very soon! I would give it a 6/5 stars if I could.

How is this place on a Saturday night? Does it play hiphop or R&B. What is the ambiance like. Are the staff accommodating to a large party? Are you able to dance for a little?

You should be fine on Saturday. Music I am not sure. The ambiance is very modern and trendy. I'm sure you'll be fine with a large party and not I don't think you can dance.

The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of being in Mexico. A Spanish theme and style. A lot of seating and it's also spacious with an outdoor patio that is open to the customers and also widely used for many event. Everything was clean from what I noticed. The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

The food was just as memorable. The chicken Parmesan was everything you want it to be: crispy, flavorful, and topped with a rich, perfectly balanced marinara and plenty of melted cheese. The Rigatoni Vodka (we added a meatball) was equally impressive. The vodka sauce was creamy without being overly heavy, and the meatball was tender, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. One thing to know before you go: parking can be a nightmare. There is valet in front, or you can opt for parking in the surrounding neighborhood. You're better off grabbing a rideshare if you can. It makes the experience much easier, especially if you plan on enjoying a few drinks. Between the beautiful ambiance, generous portions, and delicious food, this is an easy recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

We originally…read morewanted to try another restaurant, but it was completely booked, so we looked for somewhere new to explore. Met Him At A Bar seemed like a good option, and one of my girlfriends made a reservation for four. Our reservation was at 7:00 PM. I street-parked and walked to the restaurant, where one of my friends was waiting outside. I asked why she wasn't sitting at our table, and she told me that our table was right by the entrance. She didn't like that spot and thought the tables farther inside looked much more comfortable and cozy. Since people were sitting at one of those tables, she wanted to wait until they left. Personally, I thought the table by the entrance was perfectly fine, but I was also STARVING! Another friend arrived and also disliked the table, so we decided to wait. After a while, I was getting way too hungry, so we sat at the bar and ordered an appetizer and drinks while waiting. I first ordered the Garlic Shrimp and asked if it was spicy. I was told it was, so I asked if they could make it without the spice because I can't eat spicy food. He said he would check with the kitchen, but since I was starving and it sounded like it might take too long, I changed my order to Garlic Bread. One of my girlfriends ordered a glass of wine, and since she had made the reservation and gone through the trouble of arranging everything, I treated her to the wine and garlic bread. Then, of course, our friend who is ALWAYS late arrived about 30 minutes late! By then, the rest of us had already decided what to order from the Dine LA menu. We wanted to try as many dishes as possible, so we ordered different items and shared everything. When our late friend arrived, we ordered his dishes separately. For the first course, we had Caesar Salad, Bruschetta, and Meatballs. For the second course, we ordered Rigatoni Vodka, Cacio e Pepe, and Margherita Pizza. For dessert, everyone ordered Tiramisu. Overall, I thought the food was good. My favorites were the Bruschetta, Meatballs, Rigatoni Vodka, and Tiramisu. The Cacio e Pepe was not my favorite because I thought they used way too much black pepper, and my other friends agreed. Our group had mixed reactions overall. Except for one person, the other two felt the food didn't quite live up to their expectations and were somewhat disappointed. But everyone's taste is different, so I completely understand. Considering how expensive everything has become these days, I thought the Dine LA price was pretty reasonable. It was $45 per person, and with tax and tip, it came to $60 each. For that price, I thought the amount of food and the overall experience were pretty good. I also really appreciated how friendly and attentive all the staff members were. I usually don't drink alcohol, and especially when I'm driving, I NEVER drink--not even a sip. That has been my personal rule for decades. So I just ordered water, and I loved how the staff kept coming by and refilling my glass whenever it got low. I drink a LOT of water, so I really appreciated their attentiveness. Now, about parking: valet parking is $17. I decided to street-park instead. One of my friends also street-parked, but unfortunately she got a parking ticket and was VERY upset. I had originally found a spot where a sign said a parking permit was required, so I decided not to take the risk and moved my car. Before leaving, I asked a man walking his dog if it was okay to park there. He said he had seen many cars parked there and they had been fine, but I still didn't trust it because the sign clearly said permits were required. I told him, "I don't think that's allowed." He was very nice and suggested going about three blocks farther, where there was plenty of street parking without a permit. I followed his advice and parked there. Unfortunately, my friend who stayed in the permit-only spot ended up getting a ticket. Another friend parked in the parking structure across the street and said it cost $18. Since I had parked farther away and didn't want to walk alone at night, I asked him to drop me off at my car after dinner, and he kindly did. So my parking recommendation is to use the $17 valet or street-park about three blocks away where no permit is required. I definitely would NOT recommend parking in the permit-only spaces unless you want to risk getting a ticket. One of the funniest things about this neighborhood is the restaurant names. The restaurant we went to is called "Met Him At A Bar," and literally right across the street is "Met Her At A Bar." There's also another restaurant called "The Night We Met." I have to say, the names are pretty creative and definitely make this neighborhood more fun! Overall, we had a fun evening together, and for $60 per person including tax and tip, I thought it was a pretty decent Dine LA experience.
