3.5/5 overall. Food was really good and the drinks were great, but the service was unfortunately terrible. We ordered the chips with caviar and our waiter initially just brought out chips. Unfortunately this wasn't the first time our order was wrong throughout the night. We also never received our fries and eventually just canceled them. Skip the steak frites -- the sauce personally ruined the whole dish for us. That being said, once the caviar chips actually arrived, they were amazing, and all of the desserts were really good... especially when the staff remembered to bring utensils :) I know a lot of people come here for the photo booth, so I wanted to mention this too. A few of the girls in our group went toward the photo booth area and were approached pretty rudely by staff with comments like, "The fact that you guys got this far is ridiculous," and "These people paid a lot of money for the private event." We ended up asking the private party directly if we could take a photo, and they were actually kind enough to let us. If an area is closed off for a private event, guests should be informed when they arrive or when reservations are made. The drinks also seemed to be made with cheaper alcohol (pinnacle vodka in a $24 espresso martini is crazy), and it was an extra $3 just to upgrade from New Amsterdam to Tanqueray for a Negroni, which felt excessive for what you're getting. For a higher end place, you would expect to automatically get more quality alcohol. We also noted on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, but unfortunately there was no acknowledgment of it, which was a little disappointing, especially when restaurants often make small gestures that help make special occasions feel recognized. I was absolutely appalled at my experience here the minute we sat down at what might be possibly the worst table the restaurant could provide lopsided and unsteady to the point where my glass practically tipped the table over secondly, myserver was rude and ignored us, the service was the worst I have experienced in LA as for the food the price hardly reflected the quality at all , the ambiance and the vibe were there if seated at the right table and enjoy a very specific crowd. A group of us went here for dinner on a Saturday at 7pm. The hostess' were super friendly and had us wait at the bar until our table was ready. We were quickly sat and greeted by our server who was so sweet and friendly. She went through the menu with us and checked on us multiple times throughout our meal. We started with the crispy chicken bites and way beef skewers. Both were very good. For our entrees we got the burger, roast chicken & special pasta. We added on the truffle fries which were good but had I known it was $15 to add truffle to $9 fries, I would have gotten the regular fries. The drinks were good but barely any alcohol and on the sweeter side. Overall we had a great time and it's a cute little space. I had a reservation for 5 booked two weeks out. It was for my birthday, and I had confirmed it multiple times. THREE DAYS before our reservation, I get the most half-assed email basically saying "sorry we had to cancel your reservation. sucks for you". I emailed back expressing my concern and disdain for the way they handled the situation, and I have not heard back in four days. Thus, I'm writing this review. Not only did they cancel a reservation that had been standing for two weeks, but they did it 3 days before my scheduled reservation and acted with such a lack of care for the customer. Not only that, but their short notice of the cancellation made it almost impossible to get a reservation elsewhere. It is obvious that Galerie got bought out for an event by some influencer and prioritized PR and clout over a loyal customer base. I'm a reasonable person, but they cancelled my reservation and offered no resolution; no voucher, no priority booking, no message from the manager, literally nothing. I'm sure the food is good, and the service might usually be fine, but my experience with their shitty customer service team was anything but that. When paying for a nice/fine dining experience, I expect every facet of my time there to be handled with consideration - from booking to finish. Unfortunately, Galerie has not nailed down that part of the experience. read more

A person in our group booked a reservation for 6:00pm. Google said Galerie opens at 5:30pm but the doors were closed and no host was there to greet us until 6:05pm. When the hostess finally showed up, she told us to wait by the bar area and this took about 10-15 minutes of awkward standing around to be led to our table--all the while, NO ONE was in the seating area and all tables were open. All the servers were just lighting the candles on the tables and talking to each other. This is really off-putting. When we finally got seated, the server came. She was a little awkward but nice. They kept fixing the lighting which was weird. 5 minutes after adjusting the lighting, the server came to ask if the lighting was okay. Everything felt so extremely clunky and not streamlined. We finally got to eating and every time someone used the photobooth, the whole entire restaurant would flash blindingly. I think they placed it in an awkward area. Please note that if the place is rented out for an event, you will NOT be able to use the photobooth since it is sectioned off. The idea of the restaurant is nice but the presentation and execution are so awkward and it doesn't work. Our experience was not good. Food was good though. the Dudley chef's burger was awesome. I was excited to try Galerie. I'm plant based but generally never have an issue in LA or NY finding something on a menu that I can eat. I was pretty bummed that the only vegan options were the French fries and bibb salad and even those dishes had components that were served on the side - which from a food waste perspective I didn't love - because I was obviously not going to eat them and I'd rather the restaurant save the margin instead of throwing it away after it hit my table. Overall it was pretty underwhelming but it's a new spot - so it takes time for teams to gel. I probably won't be back because I can't eat anything there ha - but I may come back for jazz night which sounded fun. read more
