    Drinks menu - 10/12/24

Cozy, intimate hotel bar, The Maybourne Bar, is one of my new favorite spots on the Westside! Located inside The Maybourne Beverly Hills Hotel, it's a nice spot for a small group of friends or a pre- or post- dinner date. Service is friendly and fast. Prices are normal West Hollywod prices but the drinks live up to the costs. Every single drink I tried was good, and we ordered the steak carpaccio, which was great, too. I would definitely return!

vivier and juli provided exceptional service at the maybourne bar, an intimate beautiful space with an extensive menu, including the most unique cocktail combinations you could dream of. we ordered a demon slayer and a blonde giraffe, before heading to dinner. the demon slayer was woody and bright, while the blonde giraffe was sweet and creamy. perfect pre-dinner drinks to start a beautiful evening. demon slayer 10/10 blonde giraffe 10/10 beautiful, intimate bar with exceptional service. highly recommend. ambiance: 5/5 food: n/a drinks: 5/5 service: 5/5

Wow great date night! The drinks were amazing and the vibe is quiet and intimate perfect to start off your date night :) we enjoyed the snacks they provided and we got the Olympic, Midas and heat culture drinks. The Midas is spicy but the flavor is WOW! Great service from the bartenders and cocktails were immaculate. When you walk in take a left and it's right there by the front door :)

My husband, myself and some friends came here for the first time on a Saturday night before heading to dinner (Christmas weekend), around 5:30. The bar is immediately located to your left as soon as you walk thru the front door of the hotel. Right off the bat, you notice how quaint and chic the bar is! The Maybourne has a few seats at the bar and the rest are 2-4 seater tables. 5/5: Service was perfection! The waiter quickly provided water and a nut mix for the table. The staff was also very kind enough to take a few pictures for us as well! 4/5: The drinks were quite good! The menu is unique as well, something for everyone; and they even manually hand stamp your ice cube with the Maybourne logo! *SKYFALL Botanical. Floral. Crisp. $25...Grey Goose * Botanist Gin * Lillet Blanc... My husband loved his drink and normally doesn't go for drinks that have Gin in them. *CROUCHING TIGER Floral. Clean. Refreshing. $25...Kaoliang * ES Soka * Jasmine Syrup * Lime * Aloe Air... I ordered the Crouching Tiger; I wouldn't order this one again only for the sake that the Lime was a bit tart for me. Something about this drink also reminded me of something I had in college (which gave me some type of PTSD!, go figure and not to any fault of the bartender). *LEGENDARY BIRD Silky. Tropical. Effervescent. $27...Appleton 8yr * Campari * Clarified Lime & Pineapple * Champagne * Whey... Sweet and delicious! Overall, despite the cost; I would definitely return!

Roku Japanese Gin...aromatic, herbal,, roundeded sweetness

I recall that the hotel bar when it was owned by the Montage was closer to the restaurant and far more spacious and refined. Now the bar is near the reception counter, much smaller, cramped and  looking rather makeshift and provisional.  The friendly, convivial bar manager mentioned that the original bar was being renovated, and that the present space is temporary.  But I'm wondering why not have retained the old Montage Bar when it was perfectly fine, and the Maybourne would have a sophisticated, working bar immediately upon taking over?  Anyway, hope that the new, renovated Maybourne bar will be at least as chic as the one that was the Montage bar.  Started by ordering Roku Japanese Gin with its own proprietary blend of herbs which was refreshing, rich in velvety mouthfeel, smooth, mellow sweetness, complementary aromatic fragrances. The crystal clear cube of ice added to its look of purity.   One can order from the restaurant menu: 1) Their vaunted Fried Chicken is breast meat chicken "fingers". Breast meat, which is often dry and mealy, is moist from brining or a light marinade.  "13 spice blend" was not particularly evident. Covered in crispy Japanese Panko bread crumbs, fried, drizzled with what seems like aged Aceto Balsamico & finely chopped chives. Accompanying agrodolce emulsified sauce on the side. Not bad for chicken fingers, but at $28 a pop, it must help pay for the $450 million purchase price paid by Maybourne.  2) Marquis de Chocolat: " with sour cherry ice cream, whipped amaretto ganache, smoked bitter chocolate sauce". Nice sweet-sour combination of fruity, chocolatey, creamy, almond. Pretty presentation for $18. There is even a pairing of Niepoort 'LBV' Ruby Port 2017 for $13, but I thought sweet on sweet was too much for me that night.  There is a cramped, claustrophobic feeling to this Maybourne bar which I hope will change with the opening of the new bar.  Also, the pre-Pandemic Montage had well seated bartenders who had a more confident, hail-fellow-well-met demeanor that was more engaging. As the new Maybourne staff matures, perhaps there will be a more open, warm hospitality that will be formed. The manager is a good start.  3+ stars

Very nice little bar in this gorgeous hidden gem of a hotel in BH. We were looking for somewhere to grab a drink and sit for an hour and saw good reviews of the drinks here. It did not disappoint! Small little lounge area - maybe 12 small tables and a bar. A mix of people meeting to do business and just have a drink on a Thursday late afternoon. Excellent drinks and nice atmosphere. Service was very nice. Hotel looks amazing!

Nice selection of mezcals for Cinco de Mayo

The Montage is now the Maybourne and the bar has moved closer to the lobby. Nonetheless, its a great place to grab a drink before a b'ness event like I did. They have a good selection of mezcals, and the staff is friendly & warm. I have also been here for an after dinner drink and the experience was positive. If you are in the heart of BH on Canon, do yourself and stop by the Maybourne Bar. You will not be disappointed.

The Maybourne Bar is newish and has been long awaited by residents and locals. It's located to the left, after you valet your Rolls, step inside the hotel main lobby and turn to the left. Must show Proof of Vaccinations card. It's decor is modern and classy. Limited booth seating and small travertine top tables with comfy leather seats. The menu is limited but impressively offers selections for picky dukes and duchesses ;) Service by the staff was professional, knowledgeable and cordial. I'm so glad I can literally walk downstairs from my condo suite and have something special. The bar has half a dozen seats, with cool sexy Buddha lounge music fills the air to seduce you into the mood of relaxation whether you're with a date or flying solo ...santé!

Espresso martini! Ask for "the whitney" made with kahlua and baileys instead .

Chris , the bartender makes the best espresso martini's I've ever had. Ask for "the whitney" it has baileys in it. We went here every night while we were in Los Angeles. The ambience and the lighting can't be beat. We will return!

Came here for some afternoon drinks. It wasn't that busy, but it picked up. Many different cocktail choices...some were a little too strong for my wife. I got a basil infused drink and it took a while to acquire the taste .

Unfortunately, I think the vibe is completely off with this type of food, and I think it's hurting their customer base (I.e, there's a sports watching day, and live DJ?, but the food is definitely more for upscale vibes). I also didn't know they have a rotating menu with different chefs, so when I came in craving for something like steak frites and find out the don't have it even though their sample menu lists it on their website, it kind of throws my mood a little. Moreover, their wine list is not extensive considering it's a wine bar, and wine mentioned in their name :) Anyways I've digressed. With this special menu, I ordered the scallop tostada and maitake taco. The scallops were very fresh, and it was a very well balanced dish. I would totally order this again! The maitake mushroom was exploding with flavors, though I find the sauce a little too salty for my taste. If I came here just for food, I'd come back and try new things!

Check their respective IG accounts for the timing and menu info etc. The chef has actually done pop-up dinner nights here previously and I wanted to go, but was unable to for whatever reason. So I was excited to make a reservation during his residency! The menu is streamlined, which is great. I would say that the menu has influences from different cultures, both eastern and western, but with the backbone of Thai cuisine. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We ordered: -Shrimp cigars -Oyster (and scallop) Cardinale -Salmon tartare -Steak frites -Pork toro panang (with some roti on the side to sop up the sauce) -Calpico ice cream (with fig jam and crispy rice) And of course plenty of delicious wine! I was also able to play some of my old French records on their record player on the later side with was fun! On a side note: also came here in the morning during a previous visit and had the biscuits and gravy, which were also very awesome. Enjoyed that meal with a nice cup of coffee while watching some sports.

The staff is well-dressed, well-trained, and genuinely friendly; the host on duty, Bella, tended to us during our short wait, keeping us engaged and getting us seated just as soon as she could. The decor blends spartan industrial chic with dark wood accents that tempter what might be a cold environment, making it inviting and comfortable. Our server, Diego, got right to us, answered menu questions with good humor, and convinced the chef to make my wife a dinner-time dish when he discovered her first selection had run out. Bread service (on request) was artisan sourdough, hot from the oven, served with rich butter and a tiny mound of salt. Simple and very tasty. My wife's Cacio e Pepe was, by her estimation, the very best she's ever had. The al dente pasta was coated in a sharp Parmesan that was keenly offset by the sweetness of a Tomato Jam served on the side. A very well-balanced and satisfying bite. For my own part, the Quiche Lorraine was buttery and rich, and brimming with bacon and cheese. The lightly dressed salad alongside was a perfect foil, cutting the sharpness nicely. I must also mention that the folks next to us had a table full of yummy-looking, yummy-smelling food, from a cheese and charcuterie board to pizza, an omelet and beautifully prepared veggies. Now, the place is super small with weird seating. I like the dark vibe it has going though. The most frustrating part of it all? Servers came off super pretentious and would intentionally walk by your table without looking to avoid you asking them anything. Moreover, the place doesn't let you make many changes to your order. For example, if you ask for easy rice on the sushi, they will say no. If you ask for them to put the avocado on the side due to an allergy of one member of the group, they will say no. Our items came out SUPER slow, and this was after waiting a while for a table. The sushi is subpar - heavy on the rice and not enough fish. However, the coconut shrimp roll was good. That all being said, I'd go back and deal with it all again for the chicken sandwich and the burger. Both were a bit heavy on the bread in comparison to the protein, but delicious nonetheless.

But they did offer a few lunchtime items. The restaurant could be very quiet but on this occasion an obnoxiously loud group was so oblivious to the pleasure of others that some patrons chose to move outside patio dining. We also moved our table but the loud group was still very disturbing and so loud I could not hear the waitress. Most in our group ordered the le a.o.c burger with gruyère, dijon, caramelized shallots & crispy. I added avocado for extra flavor. It was presented very well on a plank and it was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly per my order. One guest ordered the scrambled egg focaccia sandwich with hooks' cheddar, nueske's bacon & chive crème fraîche and loved it. He's usually a meat eater but decided to try something new and he was happy he did. Parking in the area is very limited, more so by required residential permit parking and lots of tow away signs. We found a spot four blocks from the restaurant. Of course they do offer valet parking. One of our guests used the valet for $13. One minor issue is the restaurant charges an additional 6% for employees health care benefits. A small amount but a sign of the times.
