The best dining experience in Beverly Hills I've ever had! From the moody decor to the food to the service, everything was so well curated and refined. The caviar omakase is the must order thing here. Everything is very small bites, but if you are mostly there for drinks then à la carte is a good option. The omakase was fantastic - nice sized portions of caviar, paired with thoughtful items like a mini lobster roll, a salmon burger, and even ice cream. The drinks are also delightful - you can taste the notes of every ingredient and nothing was too overpowering or unbalanced. But the service is by far the main reason we'll be back. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, on top of being knowledgeable and presenting the menu in a well practiced way. They made this birthday dinner so special and went above and beyond. They do automatically add gratuity but I would've tipped more than that if possible. Matt B. and I had dinner in Beverly Hills a few weeks back and wanted to grab a nightcap before calling our Uber home. We ended up at the Maybourne Bar in the Maybourne hotel, a solid B+ lobby bar that I'd visit again under similar circumstances. The space was attractive but the vibe was strange, if not uncomfortable. Just weirdly bright lighting and a different crowd from the usual L.A. bar scene (hotel, Beverly Hills). It was pretty quiet at 10:00 on a Saturday night, and we were able to grab seats at the bar. Service was fast and polite. We ordered a Midas Touch and a Big in Japan, both decent cocktails that cost a full $30 apiece. The Midas Touch was a colorful spicy margarita with El Tesoro Maybourne Edition Reposado, Empirical Ayuuk, Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre, saffron, lemon, and honey. Big in Japan was a Gold Rush variation with Hibiki Harmony, sudachi honey, lemon, sansho pepper, and yuzu bitters. There are better, more interesting cocktail bars all over L.A., but I'd recommend the Maybourne Bar if you're staying at the hotel or otherwise looking for an upscale bar in downtown Beverly Hills. You can get food, too, though most of it seems to involve caviar. read more

I work across the street from the Maybourne Beverly Hills and have been a regular at the lobby bar. Unfortunately, I've had repeated negative experiences with one specific staff member, Elton and it has now reached a point where I feel compelled to speak up. On multiple occasions, Elton has given me poor service and a noticeable attitude. I chose to overlook it at first, but eventually I brought it to management's attention because the treatment was consistent and unacceptable. After that complaint, the situation escalated. When I returned, Elton refused to serve me altogether. He would not look at me, acknowledge me, or take my order. I was left sitting there while being completely ignored. It became so obvious that other guests sitting next to me noticed and were concerned enough to step in and ask him why I wasn't being helped and to tell him to serve me. That should never have to happen. I then asked for the manager I had previously spoken to, Leo, because I wanted to understand what was going on. I still have not received any clear explanation. What's most concerning is that this behavior feels intentional. No employee in hospitality gets to decide who they will or will not serve based on personal feelings. If a staff member's feelings are "hurt" after a complaint, that does not justify refusing service to a guest. That is not professionalism--that is the opposite of hospitality. It was honestly disturbing enough that the people next to me told me directly that it didn't feel right and that I shouldn't come back because it seemed like I wasn't wanted there. That is not okay, especially at an establishment of this caliber. I am actively trying to get in touch with someone at the hotel who can properly address this situation, because this needs to be taken seriously. No guest should ever feel ignored, singled out, or unwelcome in this way. read more

I saw the Caviar Indulgence Omakase on TikTok and I knew immediately that I had to surprise my mom with this experience for her birthday. I emailed the bar to make a reservation since the online system was down, and they emailed back immediately to confirm -- and even said they would surprise my mom with an extra birthday cake! Now all I had to do was wait 3 weeks until her visit so the experience could finally happen. The day arrived and I got my mom to Maybourne Bar with her none the wiser. From the moment we stepped through the door, the experience was a 1 million out of 10. Every course is unbelievable. This is a caviar tasting in the best way -- all nine courses are topped with generous helpings of delicious N25 caviar. You get sweet, salty, savory, comfort food, upscale dining, everything comes together in the absolute best way. I especially loved the deconstructed deviled egg and the lobster roll, and the ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. The chips and dip came with the cutest miniature potato chips (although I'll admit I could have used a few more), and the caviar salmon burger was super flavorful. And, true to their word, they surprised my mom with a birthday cake -- and then surprised us both with complimentary lychee cocktails! The service was impeccable as well. Each person on the waitstaff was kind, helpful, and accommodating. We loved how descriptive they were of each dish. It was also really nice of them to decide to give us an extra 2-top so we would have room for all of the courses. This is not only an incredible tasting menu, but made even more incredible by the price. 10 courses and a glass of champagne are $85. I was honestly shocked at how much we received for under $100. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. This is a true gem in Beverly Hills. I'm already planning my next visit! read more

I recall that the hotel bar when it was owned by the Montage was closer to the restaurant and far more spacious and refined. Now the bar is near the reception counter, much smaller, cramped and  looking rather makeshift and provisional.  The friendly, convivial bar manager mentioned that the original bar was being renovated, and that the present space is temporary.  But I'm wondering why not have retained the old Montage Bar when it was perfectly fine, and the Maybourne would have a sophisticated, working bar immediately upon taking over?  Anyway, hope that the new, renovated Maybourne bar will be at least as chic as the one that was the Montage bar.  Started by ordering Roku Japanese Gin with its own proprietary blend of herbs which was refreshing, rich in velvety mouthfeel, smooth, mellow sweetness, complementary aromatic fragrances. The crystal clear cube of ice added to its look of purity.   One can order from the restaurant menu: 1) Their vaunted Fried Chicken is breast meat chicken "fingers". Breast meat, which is often dry and mealy, is moist from brining or a light marinade.  "13 spice blend" was not particularly evident. Covered in crispy Japanese Panko bread crumbs, fried, drizzled with what seems like aged Aceto Balsamico & finely chopped chives. Accompanying agrodolce emulsified sauce on the side. Not bad for chicken fingers, but at $28 a pop, it must help pay for the $450 million purchase price paid by Maybourne.  2) Marquis de Chocolat: " with sour cherry ice cream, whipped amaretto ganache, smoked bitter chocolate sauce". Nice sweet-sour combination of fruity, chocolatey, creamy, almond. Pretty presentation for $18. There is even a pairing of Niepoort 'LBV' Ruby Port 2017 for $13, but I thought sweet on sweet was too much for me that night.  There is a cramped, claustrophobic　feeling to this Maybourne bar which I hope will change with the opening of the new bar.  Also, the pre-Pandemic Montage had well seated bartenders who had a more confident, hail-fellow-well-met demeanor that was more engaging. As the new Maybourne staff matures, perhaps there will be a more open, warm hospitality that will be formed. The manager is a good start.  3+ stars read more

Read good reviews and came to this place by myself on a Tuesday night. Waiter was approachable and friendly at first, ended up getting the Skyfall. Definitely did not live up to my expectations taste wise. Bartender and waitress asked once if I liked it, visibly said it's ok in distaste. Bartender and waitress didn't check in otherwise even though the drink was left basically full. Overall very poor experience and an unfortunate way to end the night, especially when I looked forward to making up for a sad day. Very nice little bar in this gorgeous hidden gem of a hotel in BH. We were looking for somewhere to grab a drink and sit for an hour and saw good reviews of the drinks here. It did not disappoint! Small little lounge area - maybe 12 small tables and a bar. A mix of people meeting to do business and just have a drink on a Thursday late afternoon. Excellent drinks and nice atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were underwhelmed by the decor when we first walked in because the photos on their website hype it up way more than what it actually is aesthetically. But I convinced him to go again because I gauge a place on cocktail quality and service. Surroundings do somewhat play into a space, but how you're treated and the quality of what you are purchasing is much more key. We loved it and our favorite bartender is a complete joy.
