Why you'll love it: one of the best outdoor patios in LA. "The best cake" (dates, just trust me). The bacarita watermelon cocktail with basil-infused tequila real de valle, lime, jalapeño. Don't expect exceptional things from the deeper food menu, where the flavors are often buried beneath a lot of spice, and you'll have a great evening that feels very scene-y in the best of ways.

Bf made reservations at the Silverlake location but drove us to this one -_- thank god the host was a real one and helped us out We ordered glazed pork belly, the Moroccan cigars, street corn, jidori chicken wings, broccoli, ricotta and beet gnocchi, flat iron steak, and tagaline pasta Everything was absolutely amazing. Literally 10/10 The ricotta and beet gnocchi was my absolute favorite dish. It was so unexpecting but so delicious!! Our server gave us a free dessert, it was the best Cake ever: mejool date cake w ice cream SO FKN GOOD OMFG LITERALLY THE BEST COMBO EVERZZ!! I didnt even know that mejool dates could taste like that.. seriously so insane Bacari is one of my favorite restaurants in LA!! The vibes are so cute with all the trees and flowers everywhere. Perfect spot for group dinners or date night. They have a really great menu for drinks and the service here is awesome They have valet parking too which is super convenient. I highly recommend !! I will be back soon hehehe

I recently had the opportunity of trying this local favorite. It was actually the perfect setting for the family dinner we were invited to. Once you walk in you feel as if you stepped into a new part of LA that's secluded from the outside world. It was about 12-14 of us with a family styled pre fix menu. I tried so many good bites that I can't remember them all but my favorites would have had to been between the Chilean sea bass and the chicken breast. This will by far be one of my favorite moments of my recent trip to LA

First time to this Bacari location in mid city that has a cute patio. The entrance is unusual. Staff is super friendly and very on top of allergies which is appreciated. The chicken schnitzel and pancakes were standouts this brunch. I did really enjoy the caramel sauce that came with the donuts as well. Also can never go wrong with a bacon wrapped date that's also stuffed with cheese. We didn't love the chicken tacos and the waitress took the feedback well.

6/10 Got a set menu of a ton of food, but out of the 8 dishes I had only 3 were hits. The burrata, margarita pizza, and the flat iron steak were the best by far. Do not get anything else.

Unique open cavern atmosphere houses this festive and tasty place. I had been here years ago when it was a Greek restaurant, but finally made it to Bacari W 3rd. It can get loud (music bellows a bit at the beginning of the day) until the crowds absorb that sound. It also takes a bit of time for the full staff to appear as two servers were working the entire place for a bit too long. Bacari W 3rd is nonetheless highly recommended. It's fun to try a variety of dishes and land some very welcome flavors. The house cured olives with Marconi almonds are great, and go nicely with pretty much any beverage you can think of. The house baked baguette is something you think you can live without, but then you cave, and it's so worth it. A nice olive to go along with it, or dip it into the chili oil from the olives. Cold: the shrimp ceviche (citrus fennel vinaigrette, heirloom cherry tomatoes, cucumber, za'atar, sesame, sumac, lime chili chips = yum. Hot: The Bacari Burger is memorable - open-faced grass-fed beef, tomato, caramelized onion, Worcestershire aioli, telera roll and they throw an egg on it, too. Pizza: The lamb shakshouka pizza sounded adventurous enough to try, and I definitely liked it. The shakshouka appeared buried under arugula and hard boiled eggs, and was not as 'wet' as I expected. Still, it was enjoyable - and the crust had a great crispness. Desserts: The Malbi sounded quirky and irresistible, and it turned out to be a major win. Also enjoyed the bread pudding (clover honey custard, vanilla bean ice cream). The servers did a great job and deserve more support. At the start of a Saturday Brunch, there were only two staff on the floor and they were run pretty hard around the restaurant until more team members appeared. The music can be a bit loud - especially if you're near a speaker and/or the place is still filling up. Overall, fun place, cool vibe, delicious food.

My friend brought me here for a sunday birthday brunch. I've been to the one in Culver and I absolutely love it. This location is super cute. I love the layout way better than culver's. You walk through this long dark hallway and it opens up to the patio. The patio is amaizng because it's mostly covered by trees so the majority of the patio is shaded. On the right is their indoor area. I'd say the indoor area is slightly bigger than the outdoor but by not much. Now I went Sunday at 1:30P and it was packed. Luckily we made reservations. We got seated at the one table that was directly in the sun, but they were nice enough to move us. We ordered the following: Bacon Wrapped Dates: Enough said. Delicious! Brussel Sprouts: Super crispy.. the only way to eat them. But also, it's DOUSED with oil so sometimes it feels like your drinking oil Bacari Pancake: OMG this was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. I'm not big on heavy butter, but their cardamom butter was sooooo goood. Crab Cake Benedict: This was doused with sauce. You couldn't even see the crab cake. I thought i was good. Just a LOT of sauce. I also got a cocktail. It was a vodka coffee cocktail. They always get their drinks right here. It's not too sweet. A good balance! Overall, food is solid. The reason why I give 4 stars rather than 5 is actually because of the atmosphere. As cute as this location is, I feel like they really try to cram as many tables as possible in this space. You're so close to the other tables, and it's hard to squeeze through to get in and out. Because of that, it's so loud in there. It felt like I had to talk over the people next to us, and service can be a little slow since all the servers are running around so much tending to so many tables.

Bacari is truly one of our family's favorite places! We always love the warm atmosphere, amazing food, and the overall experience. It's the kind of place we keep coming back to and always enjoy. A special shoutout to Oko, our server, who was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and made our brunch even better. Great service makes such a difference, and she went above and beyond. Thank you, Bacari, for another wonderful meal, we can't wait to come back!

My dad was in town for work so I brought him to Bacari for some delicious sharable dishes! We didn't have a reservation but were able to be seated immediately on a weekday evening, which was a pleasant surprise. I absolutely love the ambiance here! There's both indoor and outdoor patio seating - the patio is definitely the highlight. It's so beautiful with the tree cover above and feels like a magical, cozy courtyard. Service was great throughout our meal as well. The dishes are on the small size which is great for sharing and trying a variety of items! What we tried: - Scallop medallions: 3 scallops in a carrot parsnip puree with capers - the scallops were cooked perfectly - golden crisp on the outside and soft on the inside - Lamb hummus: this might have been my favorite!! A flavorful braised ground lamb paired with hummus and fresh pita and veggie pieces - Sea bass: pan seared sea bass (sooo soft and flaky!) with a savory corn, shredded cabbage, shallot, and aioli combination - Shawarma tacos: chicken sharwama, shredded cabbage, and pickled red onion tacos. Not bad but probably the one dish I could have skipped - Stuffed mushrooms: sooo yummy - mushrooms stuffed with a cheesy walnut pesto, just a perfectly savory - Glazed pork belly: so hearty! Perfectly glazed and seasoned pork belly

Like comically bad. The food is sooo mid and service was pretty bad. We had a large group and a whole room to ourselves and the servers kept bumping our table, forgetting dishes, etc. Only halfway decent dishes were the rainbow beets appetizer and sea bass. The famed date cake was way too sweet.

Bacari looks small and unassuming from the outside, but the inside has a beautiful courtyard patio with trees and hanging lights. It was very busy and you definitely need a reservation. Even with our rez, we still waited almost 20 minutes to be seated. The only other thing I did not like about this restaurant (and not much they can do to change it) is that there are only two bathrooms which get veryyyy busy and there is no room to stand and wait so you're kind of in the way the whole time. It's small dish style, so super fun to come with a group and try a bunch of different things. They had a ton of great options for vegetarians! It was a bit chilly outside but they have a lot of heated lamps on which helps a lot. I loved everything we ordered but I think my favorites (as a vegetarian) were the brussel sprouts, salatim, and the elote. The cashew pate and beet dip with the salatim were realllly good. The brussel sprouts were crispy and had a yummy sauce. The beet salad was good but I wanted it to have more of the goat cheese spread. The cauliflower was also really good - roasted and a little spicy. They had a fun list of cocktails and mocktails as well. The food came out at a good pace and I left feeling veryyy full. They were really sweet and even comped the dessert for our party which was very nice. We had the bread pudding and it was sooo good. I highly recommend eating here! It's an experience!

Sometimes people get mad at you, through no fault of your own. Sure you can try reason and logic to remedy such situations but a person's emotions often trump such silly attempts. So what can one do when they are scoffed at for trying to think like an adult, instead of like a child? You bribe them, sometimes with money and other times, like tonight, with dinner and a good time. So that's how I found myself here at Bacari on W 3rd. Sure, the food is ok but it was the ambience that I needed tonight. Myself and 'The Angry One' were walked to our table in the garden just as the sun was starting to set for the night, highlighting the candlelight flames dancing along the walls. Her cold disposition was starting to melt away slowly but surely. We looked at our menu but I had been here before so I was not fooled by the prices of the dishes; the prices may be entree prices but this is a tapas restaurant. So I preceded to order 4-5 dishes.... just for myself. In a matter of minutes our small and intimate table was filled with shrimp ceviche, green falafel, caramelized cauliflower, shawarma tacos, scallop medallions, flat iron steak, bacari fries, a lamb shakshouka pizza, glazed pork belly and tripoline pasta to top it all off. I did most of the eating and to tell the truth I could have still gone for a bacon wrapped hotdog from the street vendor outside. Unsatisfied hunger aside, by the time dinner was done, that anger that was pointed directly at me like a nuclear missile had all but dissipated and I knew that by the end of the night, it will have completely been extinguished. Stay bribing people when logic and reason no longer work my friends....

Sampa is located in the Arts District near the intersection of S Hewitt St and E 5th right next to Urth Cafe. There's a parking lot directly across the street from the restaurant but you can also park around the corner by Arts District Park for $5. If it's your first time visiting Sampa, you have to be open minded towards the concept itself. Yes, the dishes here are smaller in portion and costs more than your typical fast casual spot. All the servers here are attentive and offer to help with what to order if you're unsure. For dinner, the Crispy Pasta is their take on crispy pata but served with spinach tagliatelle. The crab fat fried rice is a no brainer and depending on the night you come, I highly recommend the Sinigang xiaolongbao special. You don't have to be Filipino to appreciate what Sampa is doing for the culture, just come by and see for yourself.

It's where they grill certain items, lobster, ribeye, skirt steak, the intestinal part of a chicken (?). So, not tacos but grilled meats so we stayed. twist. First of all, it's a lovely space. In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

It's conveniently located to the LA Convention Center, Crytpo.com arena, and LA Live which makes it a must visit before or after an event! I am obsessed with their happy hour, which offers healthy items at discounted prices with generous portions! I have been here so many times throughout the years but most recently found myself here during a busy World Cup match! Regardless, the service and quality of food was not sacrificed! I was greeted as soon as I got there and the bartenders were overwhelmed but still friendly and helpful. I was so tempted to get a margarita, since theirs are amazing, but decided to keep it dry and just get their vegan nachos. I was able to score a table outside on their lovely patio, which felt secluded enough from the main street. My food was brought out quicker than I thought and I was delighted, as I was famished! The vegan nachos here are fantastic and the happy price is only $10, which is a steal for what you get! They are costed in the most magical concoction of a bean puree, cashew cheese sauce, and guacamole which all have the most creamy, luscious and savory flavors. It's so hearty and well seasoned and not only filling, but you feel great after. Parking is pretty easy, as there are usually ample meters available nearby. I cannot wait to return again soon the next time I'm in Downtown LA! I am hoping to try more of their vegan options and next time I will for sure get a drink to go along with their delicious food!

The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. After looking around the museum and enjoying the artwork, I went to Manuela, the restaurant inside the museum, on October 3, 2021, and again on October 9, 2021. One time, I went with just one close friend, and the other time, I went with a group of seven friends. On October 3, we made a reservation in advance and had brunch there. On October 9, we all went to the museum together, but since we hadn't made a reservation, we weren't able to eat there that day. I remember the atmosphere being really nice, and I remember that everything we ordered was delicious. All of the staff were also very friendly, and I remember the prices being quite reasonable. My friend and I, of course, split the bill evenly. Since it was five years ago, I obviously don't remember the exact prices in detail, but I do remember feeling that the food was reasonably priced. The only downside was the valet parking, which I remember being around $20. Other than the parking fee, I really liked the place overall and had a very good experience there.
