Very nice ambiance. This would be a really nice place for a romantic date or for casual dinner with friends. The prices were reasonable. I had the shrimp appetizer, it was really good. Entree was the lemon spaghetti and I added chicken. I really liked the tart flavor of the spaghetti. The lemon was perfect and not overpowering. I did find it odd that it was not served with a crusty bread that would have gone perfectly with it. Dessert was crème brûlée which was divine. Our server was Sunshine. She was very nice and attentive and had a friendly energy about her. I would come here again. Unfortunately I was starving so I didn't think about taking a picture of the food until I was done, so I took a picture of the candle. Walked in on a Tuesday and was sat in the outside area right away (without a reservation). The service was lovely and i loved the vibe of the restaurant. The Brussel Sprouts were delicious and had a little spice - SO good. The Pan Seared Scallops were good - but not good enough for the price tag. Ysabel definitely checks a lot of boxes - with a few caveats. I certainly feel that for a special occasion, like a birthday or anniversary, Ysabel is a wonderful vibe and experience. That being said....the service is a tad bit lacking in hospitality and not the most warm and welcoming...when it comes to giving a bit more of a personal touch. I do have to say, I LOVED just about everything that I ate here. I was worried that it would just be overpriced, average food at a trendy LA restaurant, but I am very happy to say that I was proven WRONG! Starting with the appetizers, I found the Hamachi Crudo to be beautifully light, silky smoothy, with a good amount of citrusy-ness and acidity. The Wagyu Skewers were also perfectly cooked and I enjoyed the scallions and mushrooms they come with. A few of the skewers weren't chopped into different pieces, although that's a minor gripe. The main plates of Lemon Pasta and the Hand-Cut Rigatoni were PERFECT. My Lemon Spaghetti was deliciously saucy and creamy while still also being light. I loved the slight zesty flavor while still being savory and saucy. Just THE perfect pasta, in my opinion. The Rigatoni also had just the right amount of heat and creaminess to its sauce. OH YES, and the Burrata & Prosciutto Salad was my surprise stand-out of the night! Generous portions, gorgeously presented, and the toppings all fresh and complementing each other JUST RIGHT! I also loved the cocktails here - especially the Something About Cherry - lightly fruity and rich without being overly sugary, and the Second Wind Espresso Martinis also being delicately prepared in just the right way. Swinging back to the vibes, I loved the relaxing atmosphere with the golden lighting everywhere and twinkling lights hanging from tree branches - perfect for a special occasion..even when it's a fully packed dining room on a Friday evening! That being said, I just had to take a star off for the service here. While not horrible, it was a disappointment..especially since it was my birthday and no one even offered any 'Happy Birthday' wishes. At least once would've been appreciated. It was also a bit slow, difficult to get more water refills to the table, and slightly gruff and rude overall in hospitality. Still, I definitely think the food quality and ambiance here make it well worth a visit for a date night or special occasion! read more

The place is honestly really pretty and has such a nice atmosphere, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to it for me. The sushi felt pretty bland, and while the schnitzel itself was good, the salad that came with it tasted off, a bit sour and slightly bitter like it wasn't very fresh. I went to Ysabel to celebrate my birthday. I was so excited because I had heard good things and all the pics I saw showed such a cute space. When I arrived I was greeted by two ladies. Both were standoffish. They made us wait by the bar for 45 minutes, though I made a reservation weeks in advance and the reservation reason was for a birthday. After my friends and I had 2 rounds of drinks we were finally seated. They sat us in a table far in the back. Once seated, our waiter never came and introduced themselves. Never asked if we needed water or a drink or an appetizer. This resulted in us stopping each person that passed our table to ask for out waiter. It had been around 15 - 20 mins and us stopping multiple people until our waiter finally showed up. He took our order. Messed up the orders several times, forgot to put things in and charged us for things we didn't order. Like most people, I take my birthday very seriously and want to enjoy my time wherever I choose to spend it. I could not believe what I was experiencing. I'm from Los Angeles and am used to experiences on the higher end. Let's just say Ysabel did not measure up. I left feeling underwelmed by the energy, the service and the quality of the staff. My friends and I spent a lot of money there and received beyond piss poor service. Everyone was horrible, from the people greeting down to the point of us leaving. The food also had the nerve to be mid. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful place can be so ugly. read more

I recommend making a reservation (they are usually busy but not overly crowded, still incredibly enjoyable even at max capacity and I love watching people around me enjoy the environment as well. I've dined at Ysabel multiple times and always have a consistent, high quality experience. You HAVE to get the hand-cut rigatoni at all cost. My go-to is the brussels sprouts and hand-cut rigatoni. Fried calamari and charcuterie board is worth trying as well. Still working on figuring out which drink is my favorite but you can almost never go wrong with any of their drinks or dishes. I finally went there for dinner. The place is a lot bigger than expected. It is very well decorated. I particularly liked the outdoors setup. I was extremely pelased to see that their steak selection includes grass-fed beef. I ordered the ribeye and it was one of the best steaks I've had in LA. I came to Ysabel in West Hollywood for a weekend girls' night to celebrate a birthday with three of my closest friends, and it turned out to be a lovely choice! We were seated on the patio, which was cozy, charming, and super cute--exactly the kind of vibe you want for catching up, laughing, and snapping lots of photos (which we definitely did!). We ordered a few dishes and cocktails to start the evening, but I do want to mention one small hiccup: our food came out before our drinks. That part threw off the flow a bit since I personally prefer to sip my cocktail before digging into the food. I'm not sure if that's just how Isabel runs their service, but it's something I'd love to see improved next time. As for the food itself--everything we ordered was solid and satisfying. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was well-prepared and definitely worth the price. The cocktails were strong and flavorful--one was honestly enough for me, even though I usually go for two or three! What made the night really special was the overall vibe and atmosphere. It's a fantastic place to make memories with friends. Came here twice before both times were for girls night out. It's def a very pretty restaurant and a cute place to eat out with your girls. We came on a Saturday night so be prepared for it being busy. It took a little bit for our server to get to us and for food to come out. But all in all the servers were still very nice. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, this cheese dish, scallops, and this lobster pasta. Ok everyone absolutely needs to get the Brussel sprouts. I don't care what you get but you have to get it. It was crispy, salty, sweet basically a flavor bomb in your mouth. The scallops were also very good. Light and perfectly cooked. I chose Yasbel to celebrate my post-courthouse wedding because of its beautiful location. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. While the setting itself is lovely, the service--particularly from the host--completely overshadowed what should have been a special occasion. The host was unfriendly, cold, and came across as openly prejudicial. Her demeanor was callous, and she repeatedly looked down on my guests, making visible expressions of disgust and annoyance throughout our time there. That negative energy alone was enough to sour the entire experience. To make matters worse, the service overall was atrocious and the food was overly salty. For the high prices charged, the quality and hospitality were nowhere near acceptable. A beautiful location cannot compensate for rude staff, poor service, and an unwelcoming atmosphere. What should have been a joyful celebration turned into a regrettable experience. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Finally made it out to this super Instagrammable restaurant everyone's been posting about--and I have to say, the ambiance really is as beautiful and romantic as it looks online. Perfect lighting, lush decor, and a great spot for a date night or celebratory dinner. They offer valet, but we lucked out and found free street parking in the neighborhood, which was a nice bonus. Now for the food... pretty mid, to be honest. The Branzino was a letdown--small portion and totally lacking in flavor. The rigatoni was decent, not bad by any means, but didn't really stand out either. The surprise hit? The fries--crispy, salty, and weirdly the highlight of the meal. Can't go wrong with those.
