This location took over the old IHOP spot, and the nostalgia hit immediately. I know what you're thinking. Why even bother, it's Denny's, you know it's not going to be good. But I have such fond memories of bringing my kids here and those feelings got the better of me. We saw the prices on the menu and were genuinely shocked, but decided to give it a shot anyway. I ordered the Crispy Bacon Ranch Sandwich with fries. The concept is solid, toasted bread, bacon, lettuce, and ranch, and it looked the part when it arrived. The chicken inside was dry and the whole sandwich was overwhelmingly salty, to the point where it overshadowed everything else on the plate. The fries were tasteless, nothing more than a forgettable side that did nothing to save the meal. At $18.99 for the sandwich alone, you'd expect a lot more. Want a side salad? Add $6. A drink? Another $4. It adds up fast and not in a good way. Here's the reality. Three people eating at Denny's and walking out having spent over $100 is genuinely hard to wrap your head around. This is Denny's, not a sit down steakhouse. We are talking about a diner chain that built its reputation on affordable, filling comfort food. Paying these prices for dry chicken and tasteless fries feels like a bad joke. You could eat at a legitimate sit down restaurant nearby for the same money and walk away actually satisfied. The value here is simply not there, and no amount of renovation changes that math. The service was slow but perfectly friendly, no complaints there, but when you're paying these prices you expect the pace to match. I always enjoy a great breakfast spot in the area. When this location opened up and replaced IHOP I wanted to give this local Dennys location a try. The food was delicious as I had the Belgian Waffle Breakfast with berries. The flavors were good and amazing. They also have their other signature options such as Ultimate Omelette and Philly Cheesesteak Omelette which you need to partake in. Very disappointing service. The server had 5 tables waiting, yet never once approached any of them except the table behind my child and me. We were given a kids' menu but no crayons and were left waiting for quite a while. When our food finally arrived, the server simply dropped it off and never came back to check if we needed anything. They didn't even come by for the bill--I had to get up and ask for it myself. I also asked for two boxes, but the server came back with only one and didn't even provide a bag. Yes they offer after the fact he had already returned with no bag.I feel a bag should have been offered without me having to ask. It was just another example of the lack of attention throughout the entire experience. At that point, I was honestly just trying to get out of there. Denny's recently opened in their new location in Chatsworth. We arrived about 8pm. The restaurant was very clean and staffed by a great group of workers who take pride in their work. Bright and fun environment. Service by Dar was excellent and the food nicely prepared and presented. My senior omelette was delicious and my companions ordered sandwiches that were enjoyed. We observed one of the crew cleaning the light fixtures! Yes! So appreciated - keep it up and continued success in the new location. read more

Plenty of parking, and the restaurant is constantly being cleaned. The waitstaff is competent and welcoming, but it is rude for them to speak in Spanish in front of the customers unless they speak it, too. I usually come here with my family but this time around I came with my little cousin. We waited almost 15 minutes for our order to be taken. On top of that when we walked in to be seated the man led us to a dirty table and we had to stand there awkwardly for them to clean it which just consisted of spraying the table down and throwing the crumbs on the floor. Denny's on Devonshire was one of the most disorganized dining experiences I've ever had. The hostess couldn't find our party because the reservation or party number was entered incorrectly. After a long delay, they finally located a table, only to discover they couldn't find enough chairs for us to sit down. We stood around waiting with our children for nearly 40 minutes while the staff struggled to get organized. No one seemed to know what was going on, and there was little sense of urgency to resolve the situation. After wasting a significant amount of time, we finally left because they simply could not get it together. The lack of organization, poor customer service, and overall incompetence were extremely frustrating. Frankly, the building was more useful when it was vacant than it is operating like this. I would not recommend this location to anyone expecting even basic customer service. read more

Funny story, this location just opened, my wife and I walk in, it's about 4:15pm. We see two chefs in the kitchen looking at us, three waitresses standing together and no one in the restaurant. One waitress yells out "YAY, WE HAVE CUSTOMERS" and we all had a good laugh. Needless to say, we had fast prompt service, the food looked spectacular and tasted just as good. I had the Bourbon Bacon Burger, which I have had a few times at other locations and it was spot on! My wife had breakfast and she said it was great. When a chain restaurant is already running out of key ingredients, is very disappointing, especially for a new location. The limited options made it difficult to order what we came for, and the overall food quality suffered as a result. I understand that new restaurants can experience opening challenges, but better inventory planning would have made a big difference. The staff was courteous and did their best, but the lack of available ingredients left us feeling underwhelmed.
