Mariella, our server gave us the best experience, she had really great knowledge of all the items on the menu and she responded to all of our questions with a positive attitude and a smile. We had a surprise party here for my sister. Lure is one restaurant my baby sister raves about, so I needed to give it try as well. Pretty good if you ask me. They were out of the menu item I had my heart set on, so I subbed it with my old stand by, Fish, Shrimp and Chips. Overall, not to shabby; I'd get it again if that's an indicator. We have been to this lure since has opened and I'm sad to say the food quality has slowly declined over the years :(. When they first opened it was hard to find something that wasn't above average on the menu, everything tasted good, and the recipes were fun and creative. During our most recent visit everything landed a bit bland :(. even something as simple as fish and chips was overly greasy and the fish was rubbery :/. Great service and perfect spot for a date. There is plenty of parking available. The decor of the place is beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly. The menu looks delicious and the options seem delightful. I wanted to try some items on the menu but unfortunately for me, I am lactose intolerant and have an allergy to Roma tomatoes. As you guess, many items had lactose and unfortunately the waiter couldn't find out if the tomatoes used were at all Roma. We had their Ahi ceviche, which was delicious and they were able to remove the pico and put it on the side. This dish alone was enough for a meal honestly. We had their Miso glazed Cod Skewers. I don't really like cod but this time it was delicious. Totally recommend it. Lastly we had their lobster ravioli and it was so delicious. However by then we were rather full and so we had to take it to go. Also, it had lactose so I rather risk it at home but honestly somehow it didn't affect me at all. I'd visited The Lure once before, shortly after they first opened. While I wasn't overly impressed at the time, I decided to give it another try. I'd say it's now marginally better -- or at least about the same. We went on a busy Sunday night around 6-7 PM. Despite the crowd, we were seated immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server greeted us right away, took our drink orders, and we placed our food orders shortly after. The restaurant mentions that their fish is brought in daily, which explains why they often run out of popular items. That night, they were out of Tilapia. They also thoughtfully asked whether we wanted our soups or salads served with our entrées or brought out first -- a nice touch. My side Caesar salad was enormous; with some chicken on top, it easily could have been a full meal on its own. Unfortunately, the wait for our main courses was quite long -- around 45 to 60 minutes. When the food finally arrived, we were served the Tilapia we'd been told was sold out, along with the wrong sides. It seemed like we may have received someone else's order, even though the rest of the table's food was correct. I had ordered the Tequila Lime Shrimp Pasta this time, wanting to try something different after enjoying the Salmon on my previous visit. The shrimp were nicely shelled and butterflied, with the tails left on. The linguine was tossed in a creamy sauce that had just the right hint of spice. My Spicy Salmon burger with jalapeno slaw was absolutely phenomenal. The absolute best cioppino I have had in the valley , so delicious and always great quality ingredients. We frequently go on Sunday and they have specials on oysters and other appetizers and a variety of offerings. We are always happy with the service and the presentation of the food. The outdoor dining area is very nice and a great place to eat when the weather is nice. Ample parking, but with all the other shops in the area it can get crowded. Lure Fish House, at the Porter Ranch Vineyards, has been one of my popular seafood destinations. Why? Because it is close by, and they served enticing seafood selections. Recently, they attracted the public by a small, but enticing happy hour menu. Prices were good, food portions were small (no problem) and we could have most of our favorites. But something, somewhere, has happened here, and it has gone wrong. My recent visit was a huge disappointment. Not only have the prices gone up (which is fine with me and not a problem), but the food quality has reversely plummeted. My Veracruz Fish Chowder was all tomatoes, potatoes, acidic, lacked freshness and hardly had any fish. The crab cakes, which previously had abundant crab meat, was almost all mashed potatoes and fillers. Why not be upfront and call it potato cakes? I was not the only one, who was upset. I asked my neighbors at the Oyster bar and they were also not impressed. They had the fried Calamari, clam chowder, fish chowder, crab cakes and the grass fed beef slider (that comes with fries). They hardly had finished even half of most of their dishes. Then asked for a carry out, packed part of it, then left it all on the table and walked out. Oh well. Can someone tell me what is going on here. What happened to all that good quality food that they are supposed to be known for? read more

Venue 4: Indoor and outdoor seating. Nicely decorated. They do not take reservations for small groups and the restaurant is very popular, so be prepared to wait at busy times. Service 4: Our server was friendly, polite and attentive. Food: 3: Extensive menu, focused on seafood. They have a rotating list of fresh fish (5~6 kinds), which in my opinion should be larger for a seafood restaurant. Taste, preparation, and plating was good but not great. We had the Veracruz Fish Chowder (good), the Wild Pacific Rockfish (just ok... a little rubbery) and the Trout Almondine (good). Drinks: 4: Full bar with a large list of spirits and wines, and a good list of specialty drinks. They make a pretty good Old Fashioned! The Last Word: 3.5: A solid option for seafood if you are in the area. We do not have enough good seafood restaurants in the valley. I wish they could improve on the food a bit. read more

I ordered the fish & chips and both of my friends had the sand dabs. My meal was meh. The coleslaw didn't have much flavor and the tartar sauce was awful. I used cocktail sauce and ketchup for the fish, which was mostly tough. So, I was disappointed in my choice. After, we each got a slice of key lime pie. One bite and I put my fork down. The texture was off and the balance of sweet and tangy was way off...it was extremely sweet with very little lime flavor. Perhaps a bad batch of curd? I don't know. All-in-all, spending time with my friends was enjoyable. If I had to go back, I'd order something else, however, I don't think returning will be my idea as this experience left me totally underwhelmed. read more

We've dined at Lure Fish House several times on different occasions. Today's visit we dined for lunch on a Wednesday and the time before that we dined for dinner on a Saturday night. Customer service here is consistent. The Miso Glazed Salmon was delicious and cooked with the right temperature of medium well. It was flavorful and proportioned. The rice, broccoli along with spinach is plentiful. Miso Glazed Salmon is my favorite dish at Lure Fish House. Wild Cod Fish & Chips is another go to for lunch. There's 5-6 huge pieces of Wild Cod and enough fries that's there's always leftover. Crispy Calamari is must for appetizers. Just the right amount of crisp and taste. Not too salty. The sauce and dipping they provide with the Crispy Calamari is on point. The Mac n' Cheese with French Fries is more than enough for kids. The freshly heated bread was great and replenished on a timely manner. Our previous visit before today's lunch was dinner on a Saturday night. Our waiter at that time was Eder. Eder was great and also provided excellent customer service. For dinner our order consisted of Trout Almondine, New England Lobster Roll, Linguine with Clams and Grass Fed Smash Burger. The meals were all delicious and plentiful. We also had leftovers. We've been here so may times and every time the oysters taste so good that it's like I'm eating them for the first time. First let me start off with parking. lures is located in a shopping center with a ton of stores making it difficult at times to get a park. For the most part, parking should be pretty easy but at times it can get rough. The restaurant is pretty big and always nice and clean when we arrive. We usually sit at the oyster bar and hop it up with the cooks. This time we arrived close to closing and decided to sit in the bar area next to the tv. When we arrived the host barely wanted to seat us, and we had 30 mins still before closing. We already knew what we wanted and we were going to be in and out but my guy at the host table was extremely hesitant lol. We told him we'd be quick and headed to the bar as he stared us down until we got to our seats. On the other hand, our waiter was very cool, took our orders right away and checked on us often to make sure we were good. We did have to ask the cleaning lady for bread but she came through in the clutch. We ordered the oysters to share, and I got fish and chips with clam chowder.. Since we were in a rush, I couldn't enjoy the oysters like I normally do. However, the clam chowder was pretty good but I was a little disappointed with the fish & chips (they were a little two crispy which tasted almost burnt). I probably won't order those again but the charbroiled oysters were amazing!! I'm not going to grade it on this one experience because I'm going to chalk it up to arriving 30 mins before closing. It's in the corner next to Mendocino farms. Restaurant is quite big and very clean and bright. Our server was Patrick and he was lovely. The free bread was delicious and they use compostable sugarcane straws, great for the environment. Wife got double smash burger with sweet potato fries and she said it was great. She is not much of a fish person so she appreciated the alternative. I got the pacific rockfish daily special and it came with two sides and got clam chowder and the Parmesan potato ball. Lure is just as clean, just as welcoming and just as tasty as the last time we were able to visit. Now we are back from years in the UK and will be regulars. We now live in Beverly Hills and so it is a 40-60 minute drive but our daughter lives very close by. The big difference (improvement!) from our last visit which was highly disorganized whereas this time it was perfect! Patrick did an amazing job - he was friendly, had a great sense of humor and really cared. It was very enjoyable and fun for all 3 of us. Can we have Patrick as our server every visit please ??? I'm going to start the descriptive so I ordered the swordfish that came with the asparagus and a little mashed potato. The fish was cooked medium and the asparagus about the same ... I probably snorted them all cause I finished more than anyone on the table. The fish was so good and the garlic mashed was equally sumptuous. Andrew ordered the Pasta with clams and his comment was, "this reminds me of our time in Florence, Italy!" Wow! The Kids meal was great too except that perhaps they could have added more olive oil to bring the moisture out of the fish, Christian seemed a little whatever on his fish. The steaks were absolutely great too, soft, tender and it feels like melts on your you your mouth. I can go on and on but I'd like to share how I felt about the differences in the architecture of the Lure Fish house on Rinaldi, as you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by two attendants with smiling faces and when they take you to your table, it's a roundabout furniture that took all 10 of us. What can I saw, this was a beautiful restaurant and compared to the others, they all are... that is, each of them had that identity which made them so unique as a great place to dine and enjoy a rough day.
