The junk, pork belly eggs benedict, and pancake balls
    Patty L.

Been a while since I've visited so decided to get breakfast at 9am on a sunday. Expected a long wait but there was plenty of seats inside and outside. If you bring your pup, there are a few tables outside. Just be aware the sun does hit you so they'll get toasty. You can ask for water bowls. The prices have gone up. I know, everything is going up but $21 for French toast or an omelet was a bit steep for me. We went with the pork belly eggs benedict, the junk, and the pancake balls. In the past, you'd get slices of bread and housemade jams that I was looking forward to, but I guess it was discontinued. The sausage in the pancake balls were pretty dry and dense, but i did like the pancake itself. Our main meals were good, but we werent left craving for more. Our server was polite. He checked on us regularly and ensured our eater cups remained full. I suggest reviewing the menu beforehand to ensure it offers something that will appeal to your entire party.

We got lucky and found parking on the street right in front. Once we got there we waited about 15 min after getting in line via Yelp 15 min before arrival (great feature) on a busy Sunday around 10am. We were seated inside and it's very loud. Our server was nice. I appreciated that they had crayons and a coloring page for my toddler. Between everyone we ordered an omelette, eggs Benedict, a burrito, and pancakes. The food took a while to come out. It was okay, pretty standard brunch food, nothing special. We enjoyed our experience overall but it didn't stand out in any way.

I think I may have found my new fav breaky/ brunch spot! It's located in such a cute Main Street that seating outside is very enjoyable. Our server was such a welcoming and friendly face! I was only bummed because I wanted to try some coffee and their espresso machine was down, HOWEVER our server did such an amazing job at improvising and providing a yummy custom coffee. I got the tomato soup with grilled cheese and OH MYYY it's a must try! The soup was full of rich flavors and the cheese in the bread was to die for! I deff will be coming back.

First time here I added my name on the waitlist prior to arrival. I'm ADA so the Manager accommodated me with a booth but he did say they don't typically seat one person at a booth especially when they are busy. The food is good loved the role and apple sauce nice touch! The bloody marry was good as well very spicy! The burrito is way too much food for me and a little wet but overall great flavor. Loved the library! Bring a book take a book is such a nice touch. Ambiance is very welcoming. It's on a busy street but plenty of street and meter parking. Here is my ranking: Drinks 9/10 Food 8/10 Service 10/10 Vibes 10/10 Overall highly recommended! Yelp Elite APPROVED

Everything was super tasty. I came with a friend for breakfast and the pancake and pork belly eggs Benedict were super delicious.

Came for an early brunch with my family and I'm surprised this place is not more packed. The service was very friendly by everyone working here and the food came out very quickly! The prices are also very fair would recommend to come here for a quick traditional bite to eat.

    Avocado Breakfast Bruschetta.

My girlfriend and I decided to enjoy a meal at Joe's Cafe in Granada Hills. She had been there before, but for myself, it was my maiden voyage into this Sunday brunch scene. Pro Tip: They don't take reservations, but if you go on the Yelp page, you can request to join the Wait List. This makes a huge difference, as you can plan to wait at least 45 minutes during the prime brunch hours on the weekend, and it's so easy to sign up and plan your day. When we arrived, we only had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes within our provided range before we were seated. We were escorted to our table past the dozen or so people waiting outside for a table. The place was packed - both inside and outside. We were given a small two-top inside and provided menus. Our server, Ashley, arrived with a fresh pretzel bun and some seasonal berry and carrot dipping sauces. Ashley was warm, had a great smile, was very polite and totally on top of her sections. The homemade pretzel was great: soft and chewy, served warm. The dipping sauces were quite unique and delicious, with both the berry and the carrot being sweet. Looking over the menu, we decided to each order coffee drinks: Cappuccino for my girl and an Espresso for myself. Also, we had to partake in something called Pancake Balls as an opening appetizer. Served five to an order, these house-made sausages are dipped and fried in pancake batter and accompanied with a maple cream dipping sauce. These arrived within 10 minutes. At first glance, they looked quite good, each one presented with some toothpicks and powdered sugar. Taking that initial bite, the sausage was very hot, indicating they just came out of the deep fryer. The P-Cake Balls were decent, but could have been better in my option. The batter coating fell off the sausage after the first bite and the maple cream dipping sauce really had no flavor. No sweet, no texture, more of a watery mess. While we finished the Pancake Balls and sipping our coffees (which were tasty), my girlfriend ordered the the Croissant Sandwich with Avocado, while I went with the Avocado Breakfast Bruschetta. I could see Ashley running around to multiple tables, doing all she could to keep every hungry patron satisfied. She also checked in on us a few times, which was nice, given the extreme hustle of the restaurant. Within about 15 minutes, our main entrees arrived. The Croissant Sandwich (thick cut bacon, fried eggs and smoked gouda cheese on a buttery croissant, with added avocado) looked quite delicious. The croissant was flaky and all of the ingredients looked and tasted delicious. Personally, I wish the cheese was melted, but my girlfriend enjoyed it. The Avocado Breakfast Bruschetta (fresh pesto avocado bruschetta on a toasted French loaf topped with a sunny side up egg and finished with a balsamic drizzle) was quite good. Simple and straightforward I thought the pesto was delicious and all of the flavor combinations worked. It was definitely a more elevated Avocado Toast. Joe's is a good option for breakfast in this area. The staff are friendly, the portions are solid and the prices average for the quality. The decor is also quite unique and fits in with the localized turf. You'll see some unique artwork, as well as some pretty cool use of kitchen appliances in the form of mixer flower pots and cheese grater and pasta strainer lighting fixtures. The bathrooms are fairly clean (could have used a quick clean up at 11am with an overflowing trash bin in the men's restroom), and the communal kitchen sink is a fun touch. Parking is fairly easy on various main and side residential streets throughout the area.

Joe's food is soo good! We went a as a party of 6 and everyone was more than pleased with our experience. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and it was different than any I have had before... but, in a good way! The staff were pleasant and took care of us. The food was brought to us in a proper amount if time and everything was served hot as it was supposed to be. The restaurant itself had a great feel and the ambiance was very eclectic. I will be returning!!! Enjoy!! #jsho @jshoeats

My husband I looked for a nice brunch place on a Sunday to go to in the valley and pleasantly found Joe's cafe. The entrance is very cute, and I loved the modern open ceiling look with the wood finishes on the interior. Our waitress was super sweet and welcoming, and had great recommendations for us. The bread that was brought to the table to start was sensational. We each ordered a mimosa flight to start, and they came in cute little mini mason jars - the pineapple mimosa was the best. For our food, I ordered the avocado toast, and my husband ordered the burrito. The avocado toast hit on every level, however the burrito seemed like it was half potatoes on the inside to fill it. Overall we will definitely be coming back to try more things!

First time here but heard good things from friends. Popped in after a hike which was still brunch time. It wasn't that crazy busy which was nice and plenty of seating outside. Kelsey who took care of us was very sweet and friendly. We sat outside and were brought out some water and bread with jam to start off. The two types of jams were amazing. Menu wise for brunch is slightly limited but does have a good selection. For the price of the dishes, what we ordered was mainly a la cart. The omelette came as is accompanied by some orange slices and was pretty thin. Compared to other places that add a good amount of filling. Even toast was a side order and was 5.50. You would think that it comes with your breakfast which it doesn't. Also the junk, which is a pancake sandwich with sausage, eggs, tomatoes and cheese. Same, came with an orange slices and pretty small portion. Had to get a side of fries which portion wise was pretty small as well. Overall service was great and Kelsey was sweet. They do have a happy hour which sounds good. But food, it was ok. For the price, you would expect some kind of sides with it.

    BBQ Pulled Pork

My boyfriend loved the pulled pork burger and fries he said he'd rate it 4 stars. Honestly it was pretty big that it was hard to bite into and he had to use a fork and knife to eat it instead lol. The chicken in waffles was a miss for me. I think the gravy, bacon, and cheese was too much. It made the waffles soggy and it was hard to enjoy without feeling overwhelmed by the weird smell. I would like to try it again just the chicken and waffles. The hot chocolate is bomb! So good and sweet. I feel that the service was okay. Maybe they were understaffed or something. Breakfast was okay overall but we are interested in coming again for the dinner service :) hopping the food is a little better.

    House made bread and jelly
    Mike T.

We arrived about 12:20 on a Monday afternoon. We were seated immediately. We opted to sit inside. Menus distributed. They started us off with a house made pretzel bread and a couple of house made jellies. One jelly was a pineapple rosemary and the other was a mixed berry. Both jellies were really good. The bread was flavorful on its own. My daughter and I decided to share a couple of dishes. I ordered the BLT and added avocado, with a side salad. I chose the house made ranch dressing, for the salad. My daughter had the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The BLT had a spicy jalapeño aioli. The produce was fresh and the sourdough bread was toasted perfectly. I would definitely order this again. The chicken sandwich was a real chicken breast that was more pan fried than deep fried. It was nice to not have a processed pre breaded frozen chicken patty. The sweet potato fries were seasoned well and definitely house made. Overall the food here is really fresh and scratch made. The service was outstanding. It was a great meal.

Came here with some gym friends for a weekday brunch and it was a delight. We sat outside on a day with beautiful weather. 11 of us. The server was fantastic, very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Had some mimosas to keep the fun going. A very nice spot and you can find street parking all around.

We sat inside and I ordered a simple brunch with just 2 strips of bacon, 2 over medium eggs and waffles. The server asked me if I wanted a full size waffle or half size and as I was watching the other people order I noticed people were not hesitating to order the full size option and I thought dang, they are not gonna finish that, so I opted for the half serving which was 2 pretty good sized waffles. Once I took my 1st bite, I suddenly regretted only ordering the half size option. I instantly knew right then and there why people ordered the full size. A waffle is a waffle right guys? Wrong... not this waffle. This waffle will make you feel love inside that you didn't know existed. As we were walking inside the restaurant I actually was picking a fight with my husband for no apparent reason... possibly because I was hungry but after I took my first bite, I forgot about the argument haha. I told him he needs to bring me here ALL THE TIME. I am yet to come back a 2nd time and I already anticipate loving it the 2nd time. We drove by one day hoping to have a 2nd try here and it was really busy so we didn't make the stop. I look forward to coming back and the next time around I will not hesitate to order a full size waffle order. The staff was really nice, our server was this young lady who was waiting on all the tables inside and some outside was on top of it. She was really pleasant and the gentlemen in the back were also nice. The restaurant was clean when we visited and the service was really quick. We parked down the street, the walk wasn't too bad, we didn't know where to park but I read some of the other reviews and I guess there's a parking in the back somewhere. If you live nearby and you haven't visited, do yourself a favor and try them out. Shortly after, she walked in and we both had breakfast together. I have been to this lovely, well kept and maintained establishment at least 7 times in the past. 2nd time reviewing this place. We ordered a Veggie Omelette that came with: spinach, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, & asparagus. For cheese we opted for Swiss cheese free of charge. ($18.99), got a side order of fruit ($5.99), an order of English Muffin(toasted) ($2.99), and a large Orange Juice for ($5.49). Total came out to be $30.70 including tax, minus his tip. Both guys Nathan and Benny were very helpful, attentive and nice. Food was very hot, DELICIOUS and prices were affordable for their portions. Nathan didn't charge me for the OJ, because he forgot to bring me my whipped cream that came with a side of half Waffle, that actually looked more like a full Waffle. We both stayed with water. They have pretty extensive menu options from breakfast, salads, wraps, and sandwiches. All types of beverages. Hot and cold. Business of operation is consistent, which I LOVE!! Gender neutral restroom, a nice patio on both sides of the restaurant, and about 8 to 10 spots of parking spaces behind the restaurant. Restroom was also clean and fully stocked with all the essentials. Nice artwork on the walls. You can also find street or meter parking. They have 2 or 3 other locations. They did a little touch up here and there that was very noticeable. This is a great breakfast/lunch spot to indulge yourself. I wanted to eat more, but one can only eat so much. Ambiance was very nice, chill, clean, and had overhead music playing inside the restaurant.. They have to-go orders, delivery, but no catering. 10/10. Will definitely return next time I am craving any one of their menu options. Thank you Nathan, Benny, management & Waffles!!

My fiancé and I tried the Huevos Rancheros plate, Peaches and Cream Waffle, and the Thai Style Fried Chicken plate. Along with their two drinks; Sunset Refresher & Blueberry Vanilla Cold Foam Matcha. Huevos Rancheros were a hit. To be honest I thought the dish to be a small serving at first. But it's actually a good portion. You get three tostadas stacked and layered with black beans and mozzarella and topped off with over easy eggs and salsa. I loved how the corn tortillas maintained their crunch and never got soggy. The habanero salsa that it came had a good KICK. Peaches and Cream waffle was good as well. It is seasonal so we jumped on the opportunity. Waffle was thick and fluffy that came with powdered sugar and cinnamon. The peaches were also thick and the sauce it came was light and sweet. Can never go wrong with ice cream and waffles. The Thai Style chicken was pleasant surprise. Before we ate the chicken, I tried a piece of the breading and I knew it was gonna be a good one. Lots of flavor from the tom yum seasoning and the chicken was a decent size. It's not spicy and comes with a sweet sauce to dip in. The bell peppers balanced out this dish. I was a fan of the sunset refresher. It's a mix of hibiscus, pineapple and lemonade. It's more tart than sweet but refreshing. The blueberry cold foam iced matcha was solid. Not too sweet and properly balance. Overall a good brunch spot with a large menu guaranteed to have you come back to try other things. A little pricey.

They have chairs and tables for you to hang out and eat/drink what you purchased. There's also just benches if you wanna lounge. I've seen people here working on their laptop and groups of people around one table so the vibe is chill and friendly. It also depends on what time of day you come. Weekends usually get packed. As for the drinks and food. What we've had here has always been good. Best to eat their Croffle and baked goods there. Although Matcha is not for my liking, I'm more for their Taro Drink. B says the Matcha here is one of the better ones she's had. I have to agree even their Matcha Ice Cream is good. We get is the Matcha Croffle + Ice Cream, Matcha Einspanner, Taro Einspanner, and their cakes. Only thing I knocked down a star is because Not all the workers know the answers to your questions of what is in what food item or if you can substitute the milks. So that's something Cafe Upper should train all staff. Especially if people have food allergies.

Solid matcha place in ktown!! There's so many places around and it's a saturated market so I get…read morethe competition... but this place holds its own! Matcha is rich and bold, there's a good amount so it's not weak. Milk ratio is good so it's not diluted at all. The cream top is nice and thick and doesn't melt into the drink! Matcha Cream Top ($7.75)-- I looooove me a nice and thick cream top and this place does it amazingly. It's thick and perfectly sweetened and doesn't melt with the drink/ice. It stays perfectly thick and still and above the matcha unless you mix it in. The matcha is also really nice and rich. None of the bland or grassy taste. Just genuine good matcha! Chocolate Forest ($7.75)-- Basically same as above but the cream on top tastes like Milo/Ovaltine mixed in. It's a nice and sweet nostalgic taste. Not a hint of bitterness so if you want mocha/dark chocolate this is not the one for you. It's more happy kid hot chocolate vibes. Overall I really like this place for their matcha and would get it again. Pricing is steep but all good matcha goes for around $8 nowadays. Theres a shared parking lot (free if you go in the afternoon) but otherwise street parking.

I tried the matcha einspanner and it wasn't too sweet. The only thing I didn't like was the matcha powder sprinkled on top but that's more for aesthetics. The other one I tried was the strawberry einspanner and it was like a strawberries and cream drink and did not have any caffeine. Both of the drinks were creamy. Service was also fine. They all seemed friendly

I've been here twice and on the first visit, it took awhile to get seated. We came again this month and was happy to see it seems they expanded their indoor dining to have a whole other room able to seat more diners on busy weekends! I'm usually a light brunch eater, but if you're going here, you have to order the Mexican food staples. My boyfriend loves their breakfast tacos (super hearty, 2 would be enough but a 3rd was taken home). Super generous portion with their cooked meat on top - SO good (classic bacon, or their mole and barbacoa). The Chipotle chilaquiles were absolutely delicious! I've never had an authentic Chipotle sauce taste like that... super creamy, and homemade, not overtly smoky like you usually have at other places. We also had their cafe de olla cold brew (since it was a hot summer heat wave), and it was good - classic with their cafe de olla spices - but I'm sure their classic hot cafe de olla is even better. I believe I've gotten their other regular brunch items, but wish I just opted for their Mexican favorites since that's their bread and butter here. Great business. Great service. Love to support!

The space itself is beautiful--minimalist, bright, and super spacious. There are lots of large tables and outlets, which makes it a great place to study or get some work done. Otherwise, it's a great photo op spot. I got the Iced Tabby Brown Sugar with the Mellow Wave blend, which has been my go-to coffee order at Fika Fika. It's creamy and smooth with a nice coffee flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. We also tried the new Paw Cakes in strawberry, black sesame, and vanilla, along with the lychee and brown sugar ice cream. Everything was super cute and fun to try! I especially like that the West Pico location seems to have a bigger selection of specialty desserts than some of the other locations I've visited. They had adorable Capybara and Panda mousse cakes that I'll definitely have to come back for. Great coffee, cute desserts, and such a nice space to hang out or study. Really happy to see Fika Fika expanding around LA!

The service was great! We were unsure of what to order exactly but the individual helping us gave some great suggestions. We ordered the butterfly pea latte along with the Japanese hojicha and they were great. The perfect balance of roastiness, sweetness, and creaminess from the milk. The ice creams were really great and creamy too. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu!
