The flavors and the taste of the food here was alright. This is the second time I got a bahn mi from here and I think it's nothing too extraordinary or special. I am grateful though to have an option in the area to order bahn mi. I got the Deli Special Bahn Mi, which has 3 types of meat in it, like Vietnamese ham and char Siu pork. I liked the crunch of the pickled carrots and daikon. I also requested for no jalapeno and cucumber. The bread tasted crisp and chewy, and overall it was something that filled me up for what I needed. My friend got a vermicelli bowl and felt like the overall dish was also okay, and that the fish sauce could have been more flavorful since that's usually a highlight for her. There was a bit of a long wait for it, like almost 20 minutes. We definitely chose to eat it to-go since the interior is also small and there's about 3 tables or less. They do offer an extensive menu though and I was pretty tempted to buy a drink and try it out from here. Parking lot is entered through Reseda and there's a whole area of the lot that's been fenced off for the longest. Might be hard to enter or exit if it's a busy time because of traffic. No bathrooms! I stopped by Bun Me recently after not visiting for a while and decided to give it another try. It's located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking, which makes it convenient. I ordered my food to go, but they also have about four tables inside if you want to grab a quick bite. The bánh mì sandwich had good flavor, and the bread was soft and fresh, which really made the sandwich enjoyable. I also ordered the beef stew, which was well seasoned and full of flavor. I ate it with bread, and it paired really well. You can also have the Beef Stew with noodles or rice. I also enjoyed the crispy pork egg rolls. They were crispy on the outside, flavorful, and a great mix of pork with mushrooms inside wrapped in rice paper. Get the fried spring rolls!!! These are the authentic Vietnamese kind with mushroom, meat, and vermicelli inside wrapped in rice paper and fried! I got a party tray of egg rolls (actually spring rolls) and they were a hit. The roll filling from Bun Me is also generous. It comes with mild dipping sauce. One order is 3 rolls. They pair great with the Banh mi sandwiches from here! Ofc the BM sandwiches are also great. I prefer the lemongrass chicken or pork since I want less food coloring and I love the lemongrass flavor. This team is on it! They are responsive on the phone so I always call in my order for pickup. The sandwich size is also a good filling portion. It's delicious - crunchy bahn mi style baguette packed with meat, pickled radish and carrots, cilantro, and optional jalapeño. There's also seating indoors so you can dine in and get your food right as it's prepared. I've tried a couple other menu items but my favorites are the sandwiches and fried spring rolls (the veg egg rolls are better for those who like a good basic egg roll, but the fried spring roll is what's exceptional). read more

Five stars all around! First off, the food is out of this world! So flavorful, so filling and I still wanted more. I got the lemongrass chicken and ate the entire sandwich! They accommodated my request and out the jalapeño on the side which added so much flavor. Most people came in and got it to go, but my daughter had an art class next door so I sat down for lunch. They have a few tables inside for dining in. My food was brought out very quickly and the ordering process was very easy. The parking lot was empty so that was nice. Stopped by here on our way home. We were very hungry so I did not get a chance to even take a photo of our meals. We ordered rare steak pho, bo kho beef stew and a chicken rice plate. No one had any complaints. As a matter of fact, the chicken rice plate was praised and kid approved. Once she took a bite she said "this is yummmmyy" The beef stew was delicious. It had a hint of sweetness. What I liked about their soup is that they don't give you a ridiculous amount of noodles. It was just a right amount in comparison to the rest of the soup. They put a great amount of beef and I wasn't even able to finish all of the beef. The inside is pretty small. I think only 3 or 4 tables. It seems like they do a lot of DoorDash orders. A friend picked up an order for my family here last week. We got 1x shrimp pho, 1x 3-meat combo pho, and 1x pork banh mi. Everything was delicious and fresh! You can never go wrong when visiting this Bun Me location. Their steak bun me is delicious along with their summer rolls. I also got their beef pho before too and I thought it was great. I would come here once a week during covid lockdown for my lunch because the price was very reasonable at the time and the lady who own the place is very nice. My wife really enjoy their chicken pho and pomegranate drink. Before if you dine at the place and get a bun me sandwich, they would give you some Vietnamese chips but not anymore. The parking situation is limited here but it's easier now because there are less stores there. There also limited seating inside because there are only 4 tables which can fit like 2 people at each one. They have 2 tables for outdoor seating as well. Their prices did go up because of the current economy situation but it's not like a big increase. I would recommend coming here if you haven't been yet. read more

2.5 stars for food alone Maybe we went on an "off day" but their Chicken Lemongrass and Deli Combo Bun Me were really hard to eat. Bread didn't seem fresh, lemongrass hardly had any taste. We both had sandwiches that were tough to eat. Bland, dry and chewy. The opposite of what we expected. The crispy spring rolls looked good on their photo but what we got was nothing like the photo. Small and dry. Sadly, won't be coming back. I know this place has been here for years and has gotten rave reviews but today isn't in line with consistency. I love this place to grab and go. Its pretty small so I've never sat inside to eat. I usually just order to go. I always go for their bahn mi and all the different kinda of meat is good here. Ive tried their bun bowls but wasn't a huge fan. They are super fast and really nice. Parking can get tricky since they're in a shopping center. I wish they were closer to me. Beyond mid....it was just food at some point. Didn't feel the love with this, one bit. I'll be honest if you were to claim this to be Vietnamese, at least put some respect on the name and quality and give everyone the best rendition. This just wasn't it. When you visit Bun me! there is maybe 3-4 tables to sit like a fast food joint. Almost like is a "whole in the wall" type atmosphere. Couldn't feel the vibes with this one. I came here when we were displaced from the fires in Alta Dena. Totally thankful for being able to stay at a family members home at a time when you were not sure if you would be able to go back to yours. By the grace of God, we were able to go home (4 weeks later)! So in the meantime, we got hungry in the SFV and decided to explore. Like I mentioned above, SUPER SUPER SPOILED from all the amazing eateries in the SGV. After reading many reviews here we figured, let's check out BUN ME! We ordered the grilled pork banh mi, and the lemon grass chicken banh mi those were okay, small as usual. Not the most flavor but doable. Next shrimp rolls, super low par no flavor what so ever! Basically a flavorless boiled shrimp with just lettuce and some carrots. Where's the CHA ROM TÔM? LAME! Especially for 7.25 for only 2 baby rolls? Yall lacking hard. The crispy spring rolls and egg rolls extremely over priced for the lack of love and flavor put in. And last a steak rice bowl and some ginger wings. If anything ginger wings were good. I'd basically only vouch for those. The steak rice plate was mediocre as well. Not enough food for the price and the salad was nothing special at all. After receiving the food I asked for something to put hot sauce in and all I was given was a 2 ounce cup to fill sauce. I'm a sauce connoisseur, and the fact that I felt restricted kinda let me down. So thankful we are back home and 10 minutes away from the best Vietnamese restaurants in the SGV! There's no way I can order from here again. All in all food shouldn't be over priced when you're using low quality ingredients. They could add two more spring rolls to the shrimp and bump it up 3-4 dollars more and make it 4 rolls vs 2. I wouldn't come back here. I wanted it to become a favorite... Steak pho taken to-go. No plastic bowl came with the order. Broth in the container wasn't filled up all the way. I had to put the meat, veggies etc inside the broth container to be able to eat it. But I split it in half so it wouldn't overflow. The noodles were less than I'm used to compared to other places. The broth was okay. Not the best I've had. The broth wasn't as hot, so it didn't cook my meat all the way through, and I had slightly more than lukewarm soup after all the ingredients were added. The green onions were thick chopped. Thicker than I've ever seen them in a restaurant dish before. Then lastly there were several strands of hair wrapped around my untensil packaging. Not 1 hair, but multiple. I know the workers of this place hustled during the lunch rush. Service was nice, but I can't get over the food quality. read more

The fact that I've been coming to Bun Me for years and have yet did a review is quite amusing to me. I am definitely a fan of this establishment and my family is as well. Usually I come to try the chicken and rice and chicken bowl or the pho, which I decided to get today which is always fresh, bomb, and savory. I am pho type of lady, so I do eat pho quite often, but in the valley I will recommend Bun Me, because it is my favorite pho in the city. So in other words, don't sleep on Bun Me! if you want to try Boba, sandwiches, and pho Plus they have much variety to choose from on their menu with good proteins at that. It's right next to Cal State Northridge so they do get a lot of business. They even have deals as well and specials, offered to you on their Boba and food options.. They also have teas and coffee with different flavors to pick! The service is phenomenal, and everyone has a very good customer service with good spirits! The ambience is decent, but it is very small inside. It's around three tables, and one outdoor seating table. Today I ate inside because I don't like taking my pho home to eat, but it was cool not bad at all and wasn't crowded so I enjoyed my meal. It's nothing fancy inside but the customer service and good quality of food is all I care about.. In a nutshell, I will continue to keep coming here and I recommend anyone in the area. Bun Me ALWAYS comes through on delicious food. I've never dined in but I always have a great experience when I order online for pick up. My order is always correct, the service is always great & food never disappoints! There's a good amount of parking, so that makes pick up very easy.
